@@JessieMouse123 Their case might be different, 3 years is about the norm for contract renewals usually but they did renew a whole year before expiration. Did they add time to that remaining year? Is that year just gone and they start a new timer with the new contract? We don't really know, but it's safe to assume they probably gonna be active for another 3 years yeah.
@@charred6683I agree, 3 years seems like a safe assumption. Another 7 years of being active as a group might be a bit of a stretch, as some members are going to be in their 30s in a few years; they might want to settle down/retire or go on different paths eventually.
Maybe in their later years, they will still be officially Dreamcatcher members, but they won't perform together as often anymore (less comebacks) and will be more active individually.

Literally me. Everything you said is facts. This title comes close the dethroning deja Vu. I didn’t get it at first but after the 5th listen it was my favourite new catcher song.
This song is a technical masterpiece. Every member is showcasing complete technical mastery of their vocal instrument. The choreography is a masters thesis. The instrumentals are heavily metal influenced. The slap bass is insane. This project is an absolute perfect project
Siyeon has THE most powerful voice in kpop....and ALL of Dreamcatcher are seriously under rated!! Been listening to them since 2019 and am so proud of them
Another one of the unique parts of their music show performances for this comeback is the amount of smiling they do while performing Bon Voyage! It's not something you usually have to comment on, but it was so emotional for Dreamcatcher to reach this point

yes, this song is the most "anime sound" they have done over the past years, the combo of pre-chorus + chorus and the bridge + last chorus is really a rollercoaster emotion, it feels like they make you fly in the sky and then when chorus start they smash us with their strong vocal so fantastic.
Their B-sides are pretty good too! My personal favorite is Demian, it just sounds so cool and vibey and I love it.

19:49 they did something similar in Boca where she stepped off to the side to hit her high note even in the MV. I like that they tailor the choreo in that way because it shows there's coordination between the choreographer, music director etc instead of just everyone doing what they think looks good in a vacuum

Maison, Vision and Bonvoyage are sleek and powerful. They have truly engaged me with these last comebacks.

It's weird that the song makes me feel a sense of almost pride?? Like, I listen to this and just feel very proud of the girls, for working so hard and sounding SO insanely SHARP. This is truly the song to celebrate so much growth and I agree that it all feels like it was leading up to this. My eyes water a little lol.

You’re so right. It feels like an anime opening, literally my first thought. It also feels bittersweet, but hopeful. It’s uplifting for some reason. Close to tears every-time I listen to this song because it evokes something within you. Hands down. Favorite song of theirs.

As an Insomnia, of course I have listened to Bon Voyage hundreds of times. But after taking a break from it and hearing it here…the way my heart as racing and the chills, wow! This is top 10 in an impeccable discography.

I think them fully leaning into this intense rock sound with the big endings will be a new chapter for them. Its soft and sharp all at once. Like being absolutely rocked by the softest pillow.
I am still sooo obsessed with this comeback!!! Everything about Bon Voyage is so perfect!!! The opening, then the pre-chorus with that "maybe you don't but I love you" OMG, and then the chorus hitting the way it does!!! With Siyeon vocals!! PERFECTION. I am so happy the girls could get 2 wins. They have become my ults ❤and I am so happy they are getting the recognition they deserve.
The rest of the mini album is soo amazing too! My fave is Propose :D

I love BONVOYAGE. Lyrically it feels like the story of Dreamcatcher's own personal apocalypse, told from 3 different perspectives:
1) Pre-debut Dreamcatcher (also known as Minx), who are at their lowest point in their careers and who have to make a choice. Give up their dream or re-debut as Dreamcatcher with a completely different image and sound. (verses)
2) Post-debut Dreamcatcher, who are treating every day as their last, going full speed ahead with their new image and sound, while leaving their Minx era image behind. (chorus)
3) Current day Dreamcatcher, a blend of both Minx and Dreamcatcher, who are looking back with pride and love at both versions of themselves. (intro, pre-chorus, bridge and final chorus) ❤
Alternatively in the climate apocalypse context: Nature is dying, humanity is at a crossroad. If we make the right changes and choices now, and make sure we stick to them and never give up, then in the future humanity can become one with nature and look back at ourselves with pride and love.
You did a better job of analyzing the video then i ever could, so i'll just say it's the best looking one they've made. Sound wise, J-Rock/anime intro Dreamcatcher is back!❤
I feel like Dreamcatcher has the most amazing career story to follow.
From starting as a cute concept group in a small company, find little to no success.
Re-debut from scratch with 2 new members and a completely different concept, and not even a popular concept in the industry.
Stick to that concept no matter instead of trying to milk whatever is popular.
Former company trainee who made waves in PD48 and got eliminated gave up on her idol dream to become DC's choreographer, stage director and friend for the entire journey.
Find new producers who stuck with them basically this entire time too even if there was years of not much profit going on.
Get shafted on music shows multiple times.
Worldwide fandom steadily growing.
Almost lost a member, but she came back right in time to get the first win with them.
Incredible noticeable growth even after so many years.
They're probably the group with the least amount of haters, and the least toxic community in the entire industry.
Most touching first wins speeches.
Growing recognition even in Korea.
RENEWED THEIR CONTRACT A WHOLE ASS YEAR BEFORE EXPIRATION who does that in this business?
Still evolving, still getting better, and even after a release so good it would be a perfect final song, there is still a long way to go and many more awesome moments to come.

Just wanted to mention that this song is so good that they won 2 times on music shows with that song, with the 2 Win with Maison that give 4 win in total for Dreamcatcher. The whole mini album is a masterpiece.

This is their first album without LEEZ on it. The entire album SLAPS! Dami goes TF off in Demian and Propose, everything is INCREDIBLE!
Edit: Siyeon stands off to the side in Boca and Vision to belt, too, in the choreo! :) I love that their choreographer takes that into account!
I'm never getting tired of this song. The contrast between the beautiful soft parts (that pre-chorus is so heavenly), the hard-hitting chorus and the epic ending with the powerful vocals is so well done that even if you listen to the song a dozen times in a row it never feels repetitive. And the mini album is just amazing, 'Propose' and 'Demian' are already two of my favourite DC b-sides, which considering their discography is saying a lot
This song was planned out to be their last song as dreamcatcher since their contracts ended after comeback promotions but all of them renewed their contracts prior to this comeback. I would’ve cried if this was their last song. It’s very suiting but emotional.

Great reaction as always. Yes this comeback has hit differently. It's intense, euphoric and emotional and really is up there with their best title tracks. The album is fantastic too, easily one of their best. The revamped production team, now that LEEZ has moved on, have really delivered the goods and this bodes well for Dreamcatcher's future. Two wins as well for Bonvoyage and over 100,000 albums sold really does cement them as one of the best girl groups out there.
I watched PD losing his mind with Dami's raps in the Tree of Language album. And I know this album will make PD lose his mind again.

You made a really good point in your reaction to the Vision video that the struggles and rough patches of the Maison video were worth it if Dreamcatcher Company learned from them, and it was evident they had for Vision and SUPER evident they did here.
The reason Siyeon was in the background at the end instead of with the group is because her character died protecting SuA from that weird destructive energy wormy-dealy. It's also why she has so many lonely solo shots and isn't in any of the group shots for the rest of the video except for the very end when the world is reborn. It's also why SuA is alone in the same location and runs away to chase after the dove (a symbol of hope) and the environment is obliterated behind her as she jumps for the bird.
That's the feeling this music is trying to share. Joy and hope

I've been waiting for your reaction ever since the song dropped HAHA! Wish it was earlier so I could appreciate everything a bit more while I was in Korea for the comeback but it was a great experience again either way. Dreamcatcher is such a staple force in kpop now. And it was great being on the shows with them when they got their 2 wins. Besides their great music he girls are also just so genuine its refreshing! For me the absolute killer part is at 4:07 when that spiced up "Bonvoyage" from JiU kicks in and especially the dance moves they do at that part. Whats that effect called they use on JiU's voice at that part? They're just bam bam bam, so sharp and spicy and super fast. You should watch the dance version as well if you haven't! Also when he was like "what is that chorus???!!" for the first one I was like "bro wait for the real chorus" HAHAHA Also what I noticed from being at the live shows is that Dreamcatcher actually has a transition in their last chorus as the highest point where the confetti guns make actually sense to shoot out. For other groups the guns spit the confetti but if you didnt see it you wouldnt notice because there's literally nothing changing in the song. Dreamcatcher is just like "BAM". There's a great photo from the "Green Concert" when SuA is "holding" one of the fireballs from the flamethrowers instead of confetti guns. And I have absolutely no clue what the production costs for the company in total for a comeback like that are but if you look at all the opportunities they use to make people buy albums (and ofc the horrendously competitive video calls) you know they get a lot of money back. When you tell us the making of the MV must be really expensive I'm glad to know they actually invest that money back in the group!
The way DC get better and better and better when they started off so strongly is mind blowing to me. This album is one of their best! And we are so lucky that they re-signed their contracts ☺️

The mini album is a total banger, Bon Voyage never gets old, Demian and Propose are so great. They should have a comeback (new trilogy ?) at the end of the year. There are 2 making-of videos available for Bon Voyage.
This is not anime opening. This is final episode special anime ending song. Of all their songs, this is probably the best so far (not saying because it is new release, but just they are better and improved more than previous releases). This is just beautiful song.

2:17 - 2:43 is the same kind of reaction I had when I heard the chorus for the first time. I wished the chorus was longer so that I can hear more of it. It's just too good.
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, isn't it?
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
