First, the two best parts tied are Dami's singing, but also the fact that Handong has lines, and not only that, she has the very beautiful part "And now, I'm holding this pain..." Deja Vu probably their "Quietest " title track by far and its bring the sadness by those calm intro to the almost bridge part. Their vocal makes it even better. From the get - go, their concept took on a very dark/epic/sad direction, which is consistent with what the storyline was shown (from the game King's Raid), and their production + song itself portrayed a sense of sadness, which is well reflected in how the video was edited. There was nothing happy about it, not even their happy moments could take away the fact that sense of solitude that came after. It builds on that melancholy feel whenever the soft gentle part (which is just so SO good, like you said) just before the music buildup leading into the chorus, and it is a reminder (albeit somewhat stinging) that at the heart of it ,the song is a song of sorrow, in that no matter what outcome might occur, it will only be that sense of emptiness that remains. But as PD says, they're also not one-trick-ponies in any sense; check out the Special Clips on the Dreamcatcher Official and Happyface Entertainment channels (from before they got their own channel), and you'll see they'll tackle every genre in the book...
I think it will be a huge travesty if these women don't get SOME kind of recognition from the industry by the end of 2019. They've spent so much time and effort cultivating a supportive fanbase, carving a niche in an industry of copy cats, and put in the work to finally be recognized by their coworkers. NOT ONE Kpop group has even come close this year to giving their fanbase exactly what they wanted. Just in terms of production they put out: -3 albums (2 Korean, 1 Japanese) -Did a successful world tour -Members participated in a variety of Korean TV shows(and were robbed of winning) -Put out some of, if not, THE BEST music covers ever by a Kpop group (some in perfect beautiful English might I add) -Showed the world that they can dance the pants off of anything with a beat (I'm looking at you Taki Taki!!!) -and about a ten thousand other content driven updates like Behind the scenes, live stages, and just general cute pictures of the members). This is not a game, if they don't win a Daesang, or artist of the year, it will prove Korea hates them because of their style and aesthetic.
Dreamcatcher is not popular in Korea. But quite successfully moving abroad. Even if they don’t receive any awards this year. I am sure that their next return will be even better. I think people have associated this "anime" feeling with Dreamcatcher because they draw inspiration from classic J-rock. Having listened to J-rock is high school and college many, many years ago (kind of revealing my age here), I recognized that inspiration immediately when I first listened to Dreamcatcher's music. I think their songs Tension and Fly High are excellent examples of this sound. They execute it perfectly, considering how distinct the J-rock sound is.
They used a lot of symmetry and the slighltly dolly in of the camera gets you into the scene like if you were entering the room and you were part of the story, plus the beauty shots were the girls see you in the eyes it’s so dramatic and perfect.
The end of deja vu hits so different with the leading tones and secondary dominants. I love the hidden key change. Ughhh I slept on this song so hard last year

In this few years since Dreamcatcher debut, every comeback always in Top 10 album worldwide billboard chart. They equivalent as the top kpop girl group popular outside korea than top girl group inside that korea itself. Also, the judges from the korea music show didn't appreciate them when DC has chance to makes Korean proud. Still i love how PD and other musicians still appreciate them eventhough their genre is different. That's mean, we obviously seek for quality over popularity.

This is a collab with the anime mobile game King´s Raid. That's why it's called a special mini album. The story is based on the story of the game. Yoohyeon gets possessed by evil & her friends try to save her. One friend thinks she can't be saved & tries to kill her but can't do it. She drops the sword & walks away & Yoohyeon picks up the sword & kills her. She then kills the rest of her friends who tried to save her. In parts of MV she is being haunted by her guilt over her actions & losing everyone she loved.

i realized something: they're collaborating with the mobile(?) game king's raid, and the album is a special one called 'raid of dream'. the colors and vibes in the MV for deja vu remind me of the visuals i've seen for the game. I don't think that they necessarily made an entire album for the game, but there's definitely influences both ways. i think that's part of why it sounds more like a soundtrack, it kind of is. and i felt it when i first listened. i'd absolutely go crawl a dungeon and fight epic bosses to this song. any of dream catcher's songs, but especially this one.

I think people have associated this "anime" feeling with Dreamcatcher because they draw inspiration from classic J-rock. Having listened to J-rock is high school and college many, many years ago (kind of revealing my age here), I recognized that inspiration immediately when I first listened to Dreamcatcher's music. I think their songs Tension and Fly High are excellent examples of this sound. They execute it perfectly, considering how distinct the J-rock sound is.
They used a lot of symmetry and the slighltly dolly in of the camera gets you into the scene like if you were entering the room and you were part of the story, plus the beauty shots were the girls see you in the eyes it’s so dramatic and perfect.

In this few years since Dreamcatcher debut, every comeback always in Top 10 album worldwide billboard chart. They equivalent as the top kpop girl group popular outside korea than top girl group inside that korea itself. Also, the judges from the korea music show didn't appreciate them when DC has chance to makes Korean proud. Still i love how PD and other musicians still appreciate them eventhough their genre is different. That's mean, we obviously seek for quality over popularity.

This is a collab with the anime mobile game King´s Raid. That's why it's called a special mini album. The story is based on the story of the game.
Yoohyeon gets possessed by evil & her friends try to save her. One friend thinks she can't be saved & tries to kill her but can't do it. She drops the sword & walks away & Yoohyeon picks up the sword & kills her. She then kills the rest of her friends who tried to save her. In parts of MV she is being haunted by her guilt over her actions & losing everyone she loved.

i realized something: they're collaborating with the mobile(?) game king's raid, and the album is a special one called 'raid of dream'. the colors and vibes in the MV for deja vu remind me of the visuals i've seen for the game. I don't think that they necessarily made an entire album for the game, but there's definitely influences both ways. i think that's part of why it sounds more like a soundtrack, it kind of is. and i felt it when i first listened. i'd absolutely go crawl a dungeon and fight epic bosses to this song. any of dream catcher's songs, but especially this one.
I agree in the fact that I like that they keep their own sound from comeback to comeback but each one is still fresh! In its own way! Can't get enough of them :)
