    I have tried powder stick in all the drainage holes. I just picked them all out. I filled a snack size zip lock! I vacuumed the rest of the chunks out. I was told to put two cups of vinegar and ran the washer on regular with dry heat. It looks really clean now! I’m in drought ridden California so I had been using water saver mode and air dry. I really think I need to use the regular hotter mode every two weeks, and switched to liquid.

    Modern dishwashers have a 'shelf' on the front of the top tray whose sole purpose is to actually catch the pod/tablet - these shouldn't actually reach the bottom of the cabinet itself.
    When it is operating, what happens is that the top hole on both outside edges of the rotor arm pass under the tablet/pod and spray it with hot water. This dissolves the cleaning material to release the detergent, etc, into the cabinet. The most obvious thing, then, is to work out why this process isn't taking place and the obvious thing is that these two holes are blocked and are not actually spraying.
    It's a simple solution (but takes a bit of work) - you have to remove the rotor arm and clean it out. I used a thin skewer (but any probe will do) to loosen the material inside the hole and the arm, I forced water through the hole to backwash the arm and I even blew through the hole, repeating all the processes until I had cleared/cleaned the whole arm out. I was surprised at the amount of food debris and even small bits of plastic.
    The temperature of the water entering the machine shouldn't be a problem as the machines usually have a built in heater to bring the water up to temperature. However, if you live a few thousand feet up a mountain there may be a problem with the water boiling at a lower temperature! Or if the thermostat is faulty.

      this is happening to me too, any solution??

    • @karenjs15
      @karenjs15 2 роки тому +6

      @@dylb88 Actually I feel quite foolish. I had a plastic dishwasher freshener hanging from the top shelf, right in front of the tablet hatch, so it must not have been opening properly, even it didn't look as if it was in the way! Moved that, and problem fixed! So do double check that nothing is stopping the hatch from opening properly.
      But in the meantime, if you're still having issues, I read somewhere that it could be that the pressure from the top jets is not enough to 'wash out' the open hatch, so check all water openings in that are not blocked. Good luck.

    You are incorrect in your thought process when you say the dishwasher pod gets stuck in the handle of the middle rack. The unit is actually designed to have the dishwasher pod release in to the middle rack handle compartment. The pressure from the spray arms (when not blocked) actually accurately breaks down the dishwasher pod evenly throughout the wash cycle vs just dropping it in to the bottom of the dishwasher like other brands. Please correct this thought process in your video so that Bosch customers don't think it is wrong. Thank you.

      Dishwashers are hooked to the hot water line and are fed by your water heater (in most cases) and not the cold water line for a reason. The heating element is there to bring already hot water to even higher Temps. The heating elements are not designed to heat cold water. Therefore your comment is incorrect and misleading. Too little of hot water can prevent the heating elements from increasing the temp of the water high enough to dissolve the pods.

      From Bestbuy's website, "Your dishwasher will heat the water by itself but it's best to run the cold water out of the hot water line before you push start."
      From LG install guide, "The recommended water supply temperature is 120°F."
      From Electrolux, "Almost all of our machines will connect to hot or cold water, please always check the installation manual for further information.
      If your machine is connected to a cold water supply, it will heat the water itself.
      You can connect to a hot water supply to decrease energy consumption..."
      Almost all dishwashers can be hooked to hot water. In other countries outside of the USA models that can use only cold water are more common but still not the norm. A cold supply line reduces efficiency and can cause detergent to not dissolve properly or sanitize properly. Can you hook to a cold line. Yes, in a few models. Should you?... only if you have no other choice, ie. No hot water supply or water heated from solar to save your hot water -or- on the RARE models that can ONLY accept cold water. Find me a model that can't use hot water.
      You've been doing a hack job at installing dishwashers and instead of researching the misinformation you spew and are made aware of you confidently back it up, lol. Great tips, although our issue was with Cascade liquid, not pods. My wife was putting a 9" skillet near the front and it would have a detergent smear on the edge and most of the detergent oozing out of the cup. My conclusion was that the skillet was blocking the pathway, backed up by the fact that a small amount got on the edge. Even with that issue, our LG 3-shelf unit still left everything clean, except that skillet. We'll confirm my theory next time we do a cycle.
