I understand everything you said and I already do that. I have also removed all the spray arms and checked to make sure they're clear. I checked the filters. No joy. I have another theory. My old dishwasher (circa 1990) worked great. It was noisy, but you could hear, and feel, the powerful sprays. These new ones??? I think the Feds mandates for energy efficiency have destroyed these machines. The old one had power like a fire hose. High pressure and high volumne. This thing gently spritzes - the water from the bottom sprayer barely makes it to the top, and that's only when the pump motor is actually RUNNING. It runs a few seconds, then pauses a few seconds. Even on "pots and pans". It ain't cleaning if it ain't running. I call that "DUH". So I now have a wonderfully quiet dishwasher that requires me to wash my dishes by hand first. Add to that my low flow toilet that uses 40% less water but needs to be flushed three times (60% x 3 = 180%, so I'm actually needing to use MORE water). And the ethanol-infused gasoline that destroys the carburetors in my power equipment. And the flow controlled kitchen faucet that takes F O R E V E R to fill the pot for spaghetti. My guess is that the engineers are cringing at how their hands have been tied by these regulations. Can someone please provide some hacked firmware for this thing so that it will actually WORK? And RUN?
Add to your list clothes washers that barely cover your load with water, and they don't have an agitator. All they do is tie up your clothes in knots--not enough water! And most of them have no way for the consumer to control it! Engineer for this product must be a man who knows nothing about washing laundry--just "saving" water.
Nice PSA on why kitchen aid appliances working like crap is actually our fault. This video was no help and I am dumber for having watched it. May God have mercy on your soul.
Nothing is blocking my soap dispenser. Most of it remains inside the dispenser even tho the door opens fine. This has been happening over and over. The water in our house is nice and hot but the soap just won’t dissolve. Even liquid soap stains the door a little and the bottom of the dishwasher next to the door. Is it our city water??? HELP!
We own a kitchenaid dishwasher kdfe104dbl. Was not dissolving soap. Tried everything suggested. Then called repairman. He said it was the control board, which he said was damaged because the garbage disposal was on the same circuit. $350 repair. Still did not dissolve detergent. After much googling discovered the switch for the detergent dispenser was faulty. It was dropping the tablet at the end of the cycle, or dribbling the liquid out at the end of the cycle. I put the tablet directly at the bottom center of the dishwasher and it dissolved and cleaned the load. For now adding detergent manually, in two weeks we will replace the dispenser, OEM Whirlpool Dispenser W10409521, although there is a newer part number we could have purchased...hoping this older part number was not replaced because it fails regularly?
The reason your dishwasher isn't washing is because of faulty design and manufacturing. Kitchenaide needs a class action lawsuit as many, if not all, of their modern dishwashers are defective. Mainboards start to fail prematurely and then you get unreliable cleaning or total failure. They know it...and so do most owners...just read the reviews.
Thank you! We just got ours installed and we’re wondering why it wasn’t working properly. Found a glass serving tray blocking the top from rinsing properly
This video didn't address anything in the title. I guess I won't be buying Kitchenaid to replace my Bosch that's clogged with detergent (that was ALWAYS properly loaded).
I cleaned my machine thoroughly. It is 4 years old and won’t clean for the last 1 1/2 years. I have run it empty and it doesn’t clean anything. Maybe Kitchenaide sucks!
Not helpful at all. I have the same dishwasher as in this video: at least once a week we have Cascade Platinum tablet not dissolved. Customer support / warranty couldn't help. It looks like something is wrong with this dishwasher design. The previous twice less expensive machine worked just fine...
I wonder if we have the same model. The soap will not dissolve and remains in the dispenser wet but not dissolved. Has Kitchenaid ever helped you with your issue?
At NO point in the video is the detergent issue addressed. The entire 3 minutes is spend rehashing a 3 second point made at the start of the video. Eliminate obstructions. OK, Got it. Next...
Dishwashers are universally really badly designed. Why make them with plate racks, and then tell people not to put plates in them because they block the jets? Where the hell are we supposed to put the plates then?
The detergent in my case is not getting dissolved and I don't know why. There is nothing blocking it for opening, when I open the dishwasher after it's done that little door is opened, with the detergent half or less than half dissolved. Any ideas?
My son just had the same problem and I defeated the door switch so I could see if the jets were squirting water out forcefully enough and saw that the water was just trickling in because a buildup of calcium in the water line, and since this is a timed event, not much water got into the tub before switching to the wash cycle so there was not enough water to do a proper wash and dissolving of detergent
A Tang Sorry, just saw your question. No, I just cleared out all the build up going into the jets, made sure the line itself was good, and all was well
My wife was very upset with this video. She basically said that if you followed his directions then you can only wash one or two pots and a couple of dishes. 😂😂😂
That helped so much like omg I’m a teen and we just got this dishwasher right? So I’m like “finally no more washing dishes fuck yea” but they always come out nasty looking and I get chewed out for it so I looked to see what was wrong and literally everything that he said was wrong I did...welp lesson learned
This video should incorporate the most common problem, which is Consumer stupidity for buying a product just because of the name. The days of you get what you pay for are long gone. Unless your building a Home computer or putting in a Home theater. Never ...EVER buy a product based on name. This includes appliances, automobiles, vacuums, Furniture....It's so important to do your research, read reviews and always stay away from 1st Gen products.
My dishwasher is in nooooooo way as fancy as that one. Mine is basically a box, with two racks and a hose. But thanks for the tips I guess. Maybe I should get one of those.
Guess what ? Dish washer washes dishes and nicely dries it without removing soap. I experimented that and that how it is. No wonder how much soap theses innocent humans are consuming in daily basis.
After several apartments and 4 houses (3 from my childhood and one now). I've never had a dishwasher with a lay flat rack at the very top. Or anywhere. Not helpful. Downright cheeky. Next time load a normal dish washer.
You never know how much you love something until it stops working😂. I think I cried when you explained how to fix the problem😂. Thank you!
Didn`t answer the question, "Detergent not dissolving"
I understand everything you said and I already do that. I have also removed all the spray arms and checked to make sure they're clear. I checked the filters. No joy.

Thanks Maynard, I love your music
This advice is right. The design of my dishwasher is the problem.
Thank you, I have been putting a cutting board towards the lower front rack, now I know why the pods did not dissolve
I love how all your pots and pans, dishes, and flatware not only do not need washing, they also look like they've never been used before - ever!
Shouldn't that big plastic spoon in the top rack be placed upside down to avoid water pooling in the scoop ?
Just saved me from reaching a new level of frustration. Thank you!!!
Nice PSA on why kitchen aid appliances working like crap is actually our fault. This video was no help and I am dumber for having watched it. May God have mercy on your soul.
Thank you! I just realized I was blocking the deterget lid with a big plate. I was wondering why it wasn't opening and desolving.
Ditto!
After all these years I realize I was loading the dishwasher wrong. Thank you !
Thank you very much,it's very helpful 😊

By any chance do you remember what you did at the end? I have exactly the same issue.
Sorry, didn't help- I thought this video would show how to fix the dishwasher...
I was thinking the same thing.
There’s this things called the title, read it

Love the bloopers!!!

Just followed your tips, changed the top tray, just waiting to see if it works. Either way really appreciate the help and advice. Thank you. :)
can the Dishwasher tablets into smaller pieces, add some dishwashing detergent, and wait 5+ minutes before use
Who would put the dishwasher on with so few items?
Hello! I tried all these tips. I even tried loading with just a few items and it still didn't work.
Water inlet valve is bad - replace
pretty sure my dishwasher liquid lid is literally blocked by the lower rack... not even pots, pans, or plates... literally the rack.
Thanks for this video. It resolved my problem
loved the bloopers
Thanks The Cutting Board was blocking the door !!

Pro tip: never put a cat in the dishwasher. The legs just poke through and block the rotating arms.
We have this model, and it has NEVER washed properly. Even when we run it with no dishes in it, there is still detergent clumps, all over the inside.
I'm starting to think that KitchenAid will not aid.
Hi, how did you solve the problem? Mine is foam at the end of the cycle and obviously the dishes still have soap but they look very clean.
I wonder if we have the same model. The soap will not dissolve and remains in the dispenser wet but not dissolved. Has Kitchenaid ever helped you with your issue?
I loved the intro music 🩷🩷
I moved to brand new home and found the dishwasher would not dissolve soap?I will have to check as you said to move the pots *thank you

Where are the filters on this dishwasher? Mine has a smell and trying to deep clean it
Great video, very helpful!
Very helpful tips. Thanks so much.

How much time it takes to fully load the dishwasher?
Is it quicker than washing the vessels by hand?
Dishwashers are universally really badly designed. Why make them with plate racks, and then tell people not to put plates in them because they block the jets? Where the hell are we supposed to put the plates then?
My salt chamber us not working. Dishes are not getting cleaned since that. Pls guide how to solve it?

My wife was very upset with this video. She basically said that if you followed his directions then you can only wash one or two pots and a couple of dishes. 😂😂😂
Yep. My thoughts exactly. This dishwasher is TRASH! Arghhhh
Nothing blocking the soap dispenser. Now what?
Is it 🙁 normal for my diswashwaser to have vapor and water all over the walls after is done😒
That helped so much like omg
I’m a teen and we just got this dishwasher right? So I’m like “finally no more washing dishes fuck yea” but they always come out nasty looking and I get chewed out for it so I looked to see what was wrong and literally everything that he said was wrong I did...welp lesson learned
I tried this but my wife didn't appreciate me trying to rearrange her rack and bottom shelf
My mum just throws the things in so I gave up fixing and telling her how to organize the stuff inside.
Thank you

Names in computers have very little meaning either.
YOOO WHEN ARE YOU DOING ANOTHER BODYBUILDING DOCUMENTARY!?
I tried to run the cycle with the dishwasher totally empty and still didn’t dissolve the pod
Good test
Someone said to put the soap at the bottom of the washer. Probably a faulty cover on the dispenser. I’m trying it tonight. So frustrated.
My dishwasher is in nooooooo way as fancy as that one. Mine is basically a box, with two racks and a hose. But thanks for the tips I guess. Maybe I should get one of those.
Not very helpful, kind of common sense.
I only had like ten items in my Kitchen aid and the tab is still not disolved
Myth Busted!! my gut hurt from laughter. HAHa

Awesome awesome awesome
Duh
Dish placement??? Wow... waste of time.

the entire video is a lie
He put spoon 🥄 wrong way,
I thought I was the only one upset about that 😅
Kitchenaide is crap
Thank you
Thank you
