Depends on the use. Like small assets that don't make a big impact is fine but I know some people were disappointed with totk reusing a large amount of the previous map/ elden ring reusing the same dragon moveset 20 times
It's case by case. In the case of Yakuza LAD 1+2, Yakuza 0-7, it's fine since they're always in the same city. Why would you wasted a year to make a new city for each game? That would delay the dev process for miniscule changes. Only the moves, enemies, side quests/mini games and story should change.
@@waxcutter9813I mean, Tears of the Kingdom directly continues Breath of the Wild's story, so I think reusing the ground map makes enough sense. Plus, there's probably some changes and expansions made to it anyway, so not like it matters. I don't even mind Sonic Frontiers reusing the 3 most iconic Zones from the Classic series (Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary) for the 24th game in a row, or even porting their assets over from Generations, since, when you look back at it, it's meant to be a cutting off point for all things Classic Sonic. That and Frontiers introduces a new location to the series (Eternal Highway) to balance out the roster and set up future games.
I agree exploring old maps with new mechanics and views is fun. Imagine they linked (pun) TOTK to maps of the original Zelda or gasp Zelda 2 as new areas in the game? That would be sick. Or put 1-1 in Mario 3D world.
the 24ghz dongle that also has 2.4ghz wifi, is clearly the device used for communication to other devices. the wifi chip obviously for internet, the 24ghz for "nearby" devices (can go up to like, 400 feet or something). CLO almost certainly stands for Cross-Layer Optimization, check the wikipedia page for Cross-Layer Optimization and you will see that it fits perfectly with what this device does.
There are people in the Zelda Fan community that seriously consider TOTK just a huge asset flip/reuse of BOTW unironically or the longest in development DLC for $70 (more expensive than the original game), half joking but also mostly serious or just full on serious.
Pretty sure not just Zelda fans but there's also many ytbers even say totk reused botw map, and calling it a glorified 70$DLC ,but when people caught them playing and enjoying the game now they say they were just half joking.
Its crazy too because although I dont think ANY game should be $70, totk is the only game i bought that could justify it (even though it still shouldn’t be). But ive had totk day 1 and still haven’t beat it. I just recently got back in to it. Finding shrines, outfits, I think I can push it until gta6 comes out and I couldn’t do that with spiderman, god of war or any other game. Elden ring possibly but thats another one of those rare games that could justify the 70
@@ZephyrK_ why is spiderman 2 not called a asset flip? Same map (with less change as totk map by far), Spiderman and miles with pretty much the same movesets.
Honestly it makes sense that a toy company became such a big player in the video game scene. Back in the day every toy company tried to cash in on games. Remember, the Intellivision was a Mattel system!
I find it kind of stoopid that people make such a fuss over Sony asking them to use a PSN Account, when many, many, MANY other companies not only ask you to create an account to play their games on Steam, but also bake in their game launcher.
I have absolutely zero hype for the State of Play. I have no doubt Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch etc will cook with whatever they're working on. But how Sony's been going for a long time now...I m pretty confident the biggest announcement is going to be a remake/remaster ( with a couple live service game sprinkled in for good measure)
CLO-001... I have the lightest hunch that "CLO" could be the codename for the next Nintendo system. Name structure looks similar to those on other systems' accessories and parts, like the Wii U with their WUP-001 and etc. A quick review on some Nintendo systems and how their codenames can be found in the consoles themselves: GameCube: Dolphin (DOL) Wii: Revolution (RVL) Nintendo DS: Nitro (NTR) Nintendo 3DS: Citrus (CTR) These are some long speculated but still there: Nintendo 64: Nintendo Ultra System / Nintendo Ultra Sixty-Four (NUS) Wii U: Wii U Project (WUP) GameBoy Advance: Advanced Game Boy (AGB) This could also be the case where the codename is precisely what we are before without even knowing the actual name of the system, because that's the point.
But this isn't the console itself. It's a device that plugs into a USB c port. -001 is almost always used to designate the console. All accessories for that console would follow after. Switch 1 is HAC-001 and left joycon is HAC-010 and so on The fact this is CLO-001 leads me to believe it's an accessory that is cross gen and not specifically for the switch 2. A reasonable approach might be: using existing assets results in a shorter development cycle, while creating new assets leads to a longer development cycle.
Honestly, we can't really blame Arrowhead for the PSN requirement. They were the only studio from Sony to push back on it. This is coming from higher up the chain.
The Switch 2 having Modules available to switch up the gameplay would be the perfect gimmick for the next system without going too far overboard resulting in losing the core fanbase
It's literally not that hard to create a PlayStation account or log into your existing account there's nothing more toxic than the PC players they just prefer to cry wimp and make drama out of nothing
Says the person crying and making drama out of nothing to defend Sony. It's just modders doing what they do. Nothing wrong with that. Why do you care? lol
And for the 170 regions where steam is available but PSN isn't, they can just get fucked, right? How dare people be able to access the product they've purchased.
I don't know why, but this Nintendo "new device" reminds me a Kinect idea like, considering that sensor. Of course Kinect uses cameras and this device seem to not have any cameras, but I'm thinking about the "no controller" aspect.
If I had to guess, PS is already developing a launcher, likely just waiting until they have enough to sell on it without dropping a massive library of games on PC, or launching it with a handful of first party games
Just to clarify, are you referring to the Holy Roman Empire (First Reich) or the Kaiserreich (Second Reich)? Nintendo was founded in 1889, during the time of the Second Reich, which lasted from 1871 to 1918. The First Reich collapsed in 1806.
It's generally accepted that the Holy Roman Empire is considered das Erste Reich. The word "proper" is subjective, making your statement vague, and causing it to sound like an appeal to purity (you know, the logical fallacy). There are other examples to use that are more factual, such as: Nintendo was founded before Washington became a state.
Yakuza games come out every year so of course they reuse the same map. Totk took 6 years with the same map and empty depths and sky. Exploring the map is also more important in totk than in yakuza. Big difference.
I know this is a long shot but since Astro Bot launched i wanted to see something form Media Molecule. It's been a while since we had a Little Big Planet style title and i'm starting to miss something like that
Sony mentioned in this year's investor presentation that they wouldn't be releasing any new games from established IPs, and that Concord was their "big new IP" for the year. I find it hard to believe they have two major new IPs lined up for this year, especially since we haven't heard anything about the second one yet.

wow at this point I guess I've been thinking of platinum games as a second party Nintendo exclusive studio, I forgot that Nintendo never actually purchased them.. 😮
I'd only be interested in a Vita successor if it has docking capability. It's nice to be able to play certain games, sometimes, in handheld mode but it's the big screen and couch experience that I enjoy most. So I'd play Vita docked at least 90% of the time.

I wouldn't gets surprised of God of War Remaster get unveiled too, and 1-2 more remasters of an already Full HD western PS4 game... Sony has now became the laughing stock of the gaming industry. PS6 will just get 2-3 first-party game while the rest being remasters or remakes of PS5 games with some extra ray-tracing for $89.99 or $99.99 each for the regular version.
Sony will announce the remaster collection containing 3 popular games recently remastered that how now been remastered for PS5 Pro. You think I'm joking but this fucking company can't help themselves. Just you wait and see.

@@waxcutter9813moveset makes sense tho but the map one is more dissapointing but there are parts that make the map feel new tho
Elden ring possibly but thats another one of those rare games that could justify the 70
I would also call it $70 DLC, but in a good way. As in, it feels like DLC to BotW with $70 (or more) worth of content
It quite literally is a huge asset flip/reuse of BOTW though?? Whether that’s a positive/negative thing depends on the player i guess
@@ZephyrK_ why is spiderman 2 not called a asset flip? Same map (with less change as totk map by far), Spiderman and miles with pretty much the same movesets.
So apparently the “Switch Attach” rumor has some truth to it?
That mysterious device Nintendo patented is so obviously a Pokémon Sleep Alarm Clock (Or other sleep tracking system). I'm calling it.
It doesn't have anything to do with the switch
cross-layer optimization, since its a 2.4ghz wifi dongle.
I do enjoy your daily videos but the inconsistency with time stamping being present or not from one day to the next is very annoying
Nintendo was already 100 years old when I was born in 1989.
Honestly it makes sense that a toy company became such a big player in the video game scene. Back in the day every toy company tried to cash in on games. Remember, the Intellivision was a Mattel system!
Imagine if Nintendo released a USB-C hinge to attach the OG switch to the top of the Super-Switch in a DS style configuration…
Maybe Nintendo is developing a disc drive to play DVDs and blu-rays 😂
So what you're saying is that the UA-cam survey from months ago calling it the 'Switch Attach' is correct?
I keep getting reminded of that name. I don’t think it will actually be called that, but it doesn’t seem as unlikely as it originally seemed.
I find it kind of stoopid that people make such a fuss over Sony asking them to use a PSN Account, when many, many, MANY other companies not only ask you to create an account to play their games on Steam, but also bake in their game launcher.
Agreed. Seems like everyone holds Sony to a higher standard 🤷♂️
Usb port on the top is for one thing only, bedtime play 😂
Apparently Soul Reaver 1/2 remasters also dropping on State of play! It was accidently put on the store earlier then taken down.
CLO-001...
I have the lightest hunch that "CLO" could be the codename for the next Nintendo system. Name structure looks similar to those on other systems' accessories and parts, like the Wii U with their WUP-001 and etc.
A quick review on some Nintendo systems and how their codenames can be found in the consoles themselves:
GameCube: Dolphin (DOL)
Wii: Revolution (RVL)
Nintendo DS: Nitro (NTR)
Nintendo 3DS: Citrus (CTR)
These are some long speculated but still there:
Nintendo 64: Nintendo Ultra System / Nintendo Ultra Sixty-Four (NUS)
Wii U: Wii U Project (WUP)
GameBoy Advance: Advanced Game Boy (AGB)
This could also be the case where the codename is precisely what we are before without even knowing the actual name of the system, because that's the point.
But this isn't the console itself. It's a device that plugs into a USB c port.
-001 is almost always used to designate the console. All accessories for that console would follow after. Switch 1 is HAC-001 and left joycon is HAC-010 and so on
The fact this is CLO-001 leads me to believe it's an accessory that is cross gen and not specifically for the switch 2. I say this because the only product I can find not tied to a console code is WAP-001 which was a wireless access point that worked with the Wii and original DS. All other Wii accessories followed RVL-0xx
“NTR” 🤢
seeing as it has 2.5ghz wifi, its most likely a Cross-Layer Optimization.
the console itself would have the code of MJI or MUJ, most likely.
A reasonable approach might be: using existing assets results in a shorter development cycle, while creating new assets leads to a longer development cycle.
Honestly, we can't really blame Arrowhead for the PSN requirement. They were the only studio from Sony to push back on it. This is coming from higher up the chain.
Introducing the “New” Nintendo Switch and “New Nintendo Switch XL” line up.
Waaa I never knew I shared birthdays with Nintendo! 🎉
Happy Birthday🎉
What ever happened to that rumored Sonic Heroes remake?
To put into proper perspective how old Nintendo truly is at 135 years:
Nintendo was founded before the first proper german Reich collapsed.
Huh???
Just to clarify, are you referring to the Holy Roman Empire (First Reich) or the Kaiserreich (Second Reich)? Nintendo was founded in 1889, during the time of the Second Reich, which lasted from 1871 to 1918. The First Reich collapsed in 1806.
@@plows2940 I wrote proper as in "an actual nation", which disqualifies the Holy Roman (seriously why is this even here?) Empire of german Nations(
It's generally accepted that the Holy Roman Empire is considered das Erste Reich.
Yeah if Sony comes out with their own launcher, I wont be using it lol.
Astro Bot is a new major IP for Sony.
(edit: Yes, I know Astro Bot has been around, but not in a major game release like he is now.)
@@G360LIVE I'm just saying what Sony said. But s you said, Astro Bot isn't a new IP or a big game. You may expect something as big as Astro Bot, but not something like Spiderman 2
They combined handheld with home console, but they didn't really combine well the Wii functionality or the dual screen of ds/3ds. It's possible the last pieces of this puzzle are in those functionalities to finalize the Switch concept
I can't be the only one that heard Zelda Game Maker and had a flash back to Adventure Construction Set back on C-64 and Apple II. This would be so awesome.
If attaching accessories to a top usb port is the gimmick yikes. That’ll be abandoned real quick. I just can’t imagine developers making games to utilize that
Switch Attach seems bring back that leaked name that leaked from a youtube survey hmmm..........
Surely this device is like the wii sensor bar so you can use the joy cons for motion controls without recalibrating regularly. Metroid 4 ✨
It's a pretty beefy light sensor
@@lxs077 maybe different tech for more versatile functionality I'm guessing, probs with a cam
If Concord 2 isn't here the show is an F
😂🤣😂🤣
Concord GOTY Edition ;) ☮️
Bring it back Overwatch 2 style. Same game, just minor changes lmao
I’ve heard people talk about wonderful 101, they thought it must be related to wizards 101. A lack of clear identity seems to be its downfall
I bought a sealed copy for ps4 a couple of years ago and haven't had a chance to play it yet. But it's an interesting game as it's a Platinum Games developed, Nintendo published game on Sony's console. Could be worth something down the line as it's a pretty weird release.
Imagine if the attachments gave us the ability to use our Nintendo retro games on the switch. An attachment for DS/3DS, one for N64, etc. That would be neat.
I just want Streetpass back 😭
I was kind of hoping that USB-C port on the top would allow us to slap a VirtuaBoy on top of the Switch 2.
Keeping very low expectations for the state of play after the ps5 pro price debacle.
Lmao, debacle?
Richard Leadbetter: “It would cost significantly more to buy a PC with the same power as the PS5 Pro”
Pearl clutchers like you are seriously a joke. The PS5 Pro, according to more qualified people is technically a bargain.
@@cbgg1585 calling someone a joke when you yourself attention seeking here daily over shares 😂 🤡
This mystery device sounds an awful lot like a motion sensor. It may not be listed as a 'controller' but this sounds a bit like a kinect type device for the switch 2.
its a wireless controller and the ID is most certainly a reference to what is known as a cross-layer optimization.
Happy birthday Nintendo! 🎉 Speaking of its pre-video game history, you can still buy official Nintendo hanafuda cards online last I checked. I have two decks 😁
We have indie games that basically are Zelda makers, Nintendo can make one themselves if they want.
I feel like this mystery device is just a wireless equipped dock. Dock 2.0. Hopefully we know soon enough
That mysterious device looks strikingly similar to the Universal Super Mario World NFC bands.
wow at this point I guess I've been thinking of platinum games as a second party Nintendo exclusive studio, I forgot that Nintendo never actually purchased them.. 😮
Happy 135th birthday to Nintendo, it’s hard to believe that Nintendo didn’t start off as a video game company.
That Nintendo accessory is the new Wii bar for the Switch 2.
Unless Sony is also announcing a successor to the PS Vita in their State of Play, I'm not interested.
I'd only be interested in a Vita successor if it has docking capability. It's nice to be able to play certain games, sometimes, in handheld mode but it's the big screen and couch experience that I enjoy most. So I'd play Vita docked at least 90% of the time.
Why, so you can buy more hardware from them that has no incentives?
Nintendo is older than 12 US states. It’s older than 24% of US states
No, they was in the hospitality. The question is was it a love hotel or just a regular hotel? lol
i did not just played Zelda: Echos of Wisdom and did not just say its a environmental puzzler.
Man, if accessories are the gimmick for Switch 2, I'm gonna end up spending more on it than PS5.
The fact that there is still an audience for Sonic regularly blows me away. Must be some really radical, chilli dog loving middle aged dweebs at this point. Imagine being 30s and still thinking Sonic is in any way "cool".
My guess is that the patent is some type of VR headset that plugs into the joycons to use their battery and features.
Why is it that with every poll the most voted option is always "No"?
Let’s put a fan on top of the switch, then when you’re driving, you can get the speed
Now the name "Switch attach" makes more sense..
Love Super Vegeta’s comment, calling out the hypocrisy in gamers.
I kinda think it’s gonna be like the Wii sensor bar. If anyone remembers that, for more accurate information on movement and stuff. I can see them using this for a new switch sports and what not.
Seems like the Switch Attach name starts making sense now
Since Platinum Games now fully owns the trademark for Wonderful 101, does that also mean that they own the copyright as well? Or does Nintendo still have some say there?
Horizon Zero Remaster and Gone Days Remaster will 100% be announced.
Remater is just a marketing term. These are just what we use to call next gen updates...
Concord Remaster will be the biggest selling game of 2024 I predict.
Sony will announce the remaster collection containing 3 popular games recently remastered that how now been remastered for PS5 Pro. You think I'm joking but this fucking company can't help themselves. Just you wait and see.
"Hospitality", huh? XD
The mystery device could be a sleep tracker
For me reusing assets it’s ok for movements, maps (if the story is in the same location) but if the game is a AAA and basically they insert all the assets from past games and name it “ragnarok” it’s laziness
"That big wrinkle" lol
With leaks these days we would already know of a 1st party game
Sony needs to show a few big games, they need some good news. They also need to show some actual improvements with the Pro if they expect people to drop that kind of cash!
The nintendo mystery device is just among us
