I got to say, Odin in the story kind of stole Thor’s thunder and was a bigger smash hit than Hulk… Both literally and figuratively lol
Ngl, this story was really fun and I loved it! Reasoning be damned, this book delivered on a fun Thor vs Hulk fight
Every time the card talk breaks out it always makes me think back to the "Silver Surfer is my favorite character because he's so strong, and the card so says" bit.
Back issues feels really different when you've already personally read the book. I'm usually here having a good time and getting recommendations for books I'd never normally read.

It's a shame Cates left both books cause I really enjoyed his takes on both Hulk and Thor and was looking forward to their continuation. I'm hoping he comes back swinging one day. Hopefully, down the road, you guys can look at Hulk Planet, which is the final part of the Hulk run started by Cates and is finished by Ottley

Banner of the war was a confusing crossover story but honestly out of all them from marvel its probably the least impactful for either character at least in my opinion. :)
I wasn't thrilled by Cates' run on Thor or Hulk; it really did nothing for me.

I don't understand the end when Thor says that he killed hulk and somehow iron man just believes him. In the last run they literally established that hulk is immortal... If Thor killed him then all they had to do was wait till night and he'd come back. Personally, I never really liked smashtronaught; there are some cool potential there but I feel like they never really explored it unfortunately.
At the end of the Immortal Hull run its explained that the Green Door (which allows hulks to come back to life) no longer works.
That being said you're 100% right that other people would still believe that Hulk is still immortal and would go grab him to at least ask questions
@@crazydude610 ugh yeah forgot about that. I wish they had kept it for longer as a status quo. Hulk being immortal doesn't destroy stakes but it lets them explore many other interesting ideas. Hickman did this with the xmen and given that no one stays dead in comics, it makes more sense to keep an explanation in the back pocket for a hero resurrecting in the future.
