That's probably a literal nightmare this guy has where he is about to do a show and then you can't find the book ..... That's probably happened like 3 times
Love it if Lex didn't program RoboHulk to get Betty. It started developing feelings for her on its own. And then Hulk destroys it. The beautiful thing is that by the time of this story, Betty was already gone and could've joined it in the afterlife. If it wasn't a soulless robot, of course.
An even more amazing parallel. Both names Bruce Banner and Clark Kent phonetically sound the same with the first letter of both their first and last name! Astounding!
Fun fact, that's called alliteration. Stan lee used to do that a lot with his characters like Bruce banner and Peter Parker for example. It's also because it was easier for him to remember names lol
So, I looked it up because you guys were talking about General Lane and General Ross. Sam Lane isn't THAT much older. He shows up first in Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane #13 from 1959, so he's less than a decade older than General Ross and a relative late-comer to the Super-mythos (still pre-Silver-age, though)
Those similarities are insane. I never thought of it that way but: both have women with general fathers as their primary love interests. They're both insane powerhouses, but one lacks control while the other is in full control. They both have nebbish nerd alter egos. They're both science based heroes who have mad genius arch rivals.
As much as Sal likes the world where these heroes exist together he always pokes holes in why that wouldn't work. It wouldn't make sense for all the same things to have happened and yet none of them ever interacted
i just love how these crossovers are possible again just because Disney and WBD are merging streaming services to compete with Netflix and Peacock streaming merger.
I had no idea Stan Lee was originally going to write this. It would of been quite a read to behold. I have this in trade form as back in Christmas of 2006, my aunt would get me the DC/Marvel trades for Christmas presents. I got them all before they went out of print, save for the Amalgam collection and yep, even have JLA/Avengers
I was trying to come up with what Lois' outfit is called and all I was coming up with was Hee-Haw despite seeing Michael Bay Transformers. Thanks Ben I can update my popculture refrences to be slightly less dated.
Fun fact: in Smallville, kryptonian technology was kryptonite-based. Sometimes. More specifically, the octagonal disk that controlled Clark's ship, the local native caves, and probably some other stuff, was made of kryptonite, just covered in some plastic or metal or something.
After the Millennium event in post Crisis, John Byrne even made Lois resent Clark even more. She put together that Superman had a connection to Smallville so she confronted Clark at Ma and Pa Kents' farm about being Superman. Ma and Pa Kent interrupted and lied saying they found Superman's pod while she was pregnant with Clark and they raised Superman in secrete with Clark. Of course Lois believes this, and is even more resentful to Clark for scooping her only because of his "connection" to Superman.
Clearly Lex learned from building a Hulk-shaped robot to fight the hulk, when he tried to fake Superman’s laser vision in BVS (i think, i don’t 100% remember that whole plan).
So at one time Gotham was in NJ and Metropolis was in either Connecticut or Delaware. I don't remember which. I want to say Delaware. Central City was in Missouri. Keystone was in Kansas. DC use to make an atlas of the DC Universe. The places may have changed. In theory though Gotham and Metropolis could be across a bay from one another
I dug Stan Lees superman from Just Imagine. A grizzled space cop stuxk on Earth fighting crime so someone can sfford to build him a spaceship to go home. Hilarious
@comicpop Please cover the Rotworld Crossover from New 52 because honestly that is the weirdest and in my opinion worst crossover ever made. Animal Man, Swamp Thing and Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. all crossing over. 1 bonus to this crossover is all the issues are actually relevant to the story of the crossover.
I'll never forget the first Amalgam book I had was the fucking ManThing and ManBat crossover and it was called Swamp Bat Thing or something it was awful.
Check out the exclusive chat with Glenn Greenberg! ua-cam.com/video/HTWmx2RO38k/v-deo.html
Rise of Apocalypse would be a good one!
What do you get for a Sal who has everything?
A copy of Hulk vs Superman because he thought he had it but didn't.
Best comment here. Everyone thought they had a copy but didn't.
"What made you think you had it?"
"I have NFL SuperPro!"
I have an issue of NFL Superpro. It was… a comic.
I can see where he's coming from when you put it that way. 😂
That's probably a literal nightmare this guy has where he is about to do a show and then you can't find the book ..... That's probably happened like 3 times
"Did you read it when it first came out?"
"Hell no "
😂😂😂😂
"But we're not here to talk about Deathblow." Deathblow tangent continues for another 10 minutes :)
Love it if Lex didn't program RoboHulk to get Betty. It started developing feelings for her on its own. And then Hulk destroys it.

**Vision crying intensifies**
The Glen Greenberg interview is probably one of my favorite ep can’t wait to watch this back issues
An even more amazing parallel. Both names Bruce Banner and Clark Kent phonetically sound the same with the first letter of both their first and last name! Astounding!
Bruce's first name is actually Robert
Wow! With so many obvious similarities, it's a wonder why they hadn't crossed over sooner!
They both have darker colored hair too, and they both wear pants, truly the proof of us living in computer simulation knows no end!!!!
Fun fact, that's called alliteration. Stan lee used to do that a lot with his characters like Bruce banner and Peter Parker for example. It's also because it was easier for him to remember names lol
@@ziggy_425…we know. That’s the joke
Soloman Grundy vs. Hulk makes a bit more sense to me.
Was just about to mow the lawn, thanks for this

I loved the interview Sal did on the book, the whole behind the scenes of 90s comics is so fun to learn about.
Sal’s hyped being “WHOAH!” is an instant classic!😂😂😂

Nice, The Green Giant vs the Blue Boyscott… I love alliteration lol
She-hulk crossing over with Supergirl would be fun.
Dangit man, didn’t think y’all were gonna get me to laugh this episode but ya managed to do it! 😂
You should link interviews and such related to your back issues more often. It gets me to actually watch them. Sort of a "do you want to know more?"
"Hulk kinda sucks" -Sal
As much as Sal likes the world where these heroes exist together he always pokes holes in why that wouldn't work. It wouldn't make sense for all the same things to have happened and yet none of them ever interacted
As if that problem doesn't already exist in the regular DC/Marvel universes.
5 min in I'm already laughing like a... Batman who laughs I guess hahah, love this show, thnx comicpop for being great
31:15 If they made one now.... Hulk grows spikes and becomes like Doomsday? o_o
I aspire to have a comic book collection where I forget what I have 😂
It was about 8 minutes into this I realized this was a separate event from Amalgam. Thats how under the radar this was to me.
Thank you for the video!
Hulk Superman has so much damn potential really should be an incredible long tale of duel failure and confusion
No matter what you guys do Im always here for it. You have gotten me to pick up books id never think to. Great stuff.
i just love how these crossovers are possible again just because Disney and WBD are merging streaming services to compete with Netflix and Peacock streaming merger.
I am so onboard with these Marvel/DC episodes. Keep it up Comic Pop!
The best back issues are informed by your interviews, thanks for the eps as always!
Please Sal link the interview you did with the editor!

🤓 According to "The Atlas of The DC Universe" Gotham is in Southern New Jersey and Metropolis is across the river in Northern Delaware
Believe it or not been waiting all day for this
Always happy to see more of Hulk and Superman!
Great episode guys
One of my fave crossovers that I own. Fun to see you guys cover this!
Thank you for being such a great source of entertainment every Wednesday and Monday!!
30:42 Okay why the hell hasn’t Marvel knocked on Sal’s door to write an issue or two? This is great! Somebody better start making some calls.
Better call sal?
Didn't expect a reference to The Cranberries.
YOOO, DK2 on the shelf????? We getting a redux….👀
I've been waiting for this one

I think u guys should do "Batman Night Cries"
Why is Batman crying at night
36:10 - Like Bugs Bunny dressed up with a wig? Lol
This is the MOST EPIC crossover battle EVER!!!
I was trying to come up with what Lois' outfit is called and all I was coming up with was Hee-Haw despite seeing Michael Bay Transformers. Thanks Ben I can update my popculture refrences to be slightly less dated.
I love the kryptonite hulk idea!
Fun fact: in Smallville, kryptonian technology was kryptonite-based. Sometimes.
More specifically, the octagonal disk that controlled Clark's ship, the local native caves, and probably some other stuff, was made of kryptonite, just covered in some plastic or metal or something.
Kryptohulk
1:15:50 And Sal looks like he’s gonna turn into the Hulk at that comment
Sal saying it wasn't in the longbox had already piqued my interest!
I didn't know these two crossed over, I'm shitting hulk sized bricks now!
Awesome!
Ooh hulk vs Superman sign me up and this sounds really awesome and badass.
Is there comic pop karaoke on the patron? I would like to hear the whole rendition of Zombie
Hulk Superman makes my head hurt what a match up I guess hulk wins in the end but should be an exceptional many episode tale may be best mash ever
I have a copy of a book Sal doesn’t have what timeline is this?
Awesome guys.
It's hypertime, Sal!
Today just got lot better

Ethan was on top form for this video
Ben, one better, Boss Hogg! 🤣
Superman’s boots look just like the new movie pics.

Luther's secret plot! Use the Hulk to still the South's BBQ!! That is why the robot had a stomach! 😏👉👉
The real question of this story is: where were the Hulk when doomsday show up and killed SuperMan, and is Hulk stronger than doomsday?
Clearly Lex learned from building a Hulk-shaped robot to fight the hulk, when he tried to fake Superman’s laser vision in BVS (i think, i don’t 100% remember that whole plan).
Just read this like 3 days ago. It’s… a comic that stuff happens in. It’s actually not that bad.
So at one time Gotham was in NJ and Metropolis was in either Connecticut or Delaware. I don't remember which. I want to say Delaware. Central City was in Missouri. Keystone was in Kansas. DC use to make an atlas of the DC Universe. The places may have changed. In theory though Gotham and Metropolis could be across a bay from one another
Krypto-Hulk... you heard here first 🤔
WOO0O00 CROSSOVERS!
Peter Griffin is the same with mirrors
I like the batman daredevil crossover, but I gotta hand it to punisher batman as my favorite I've read.
I dug Stan Lees superman from Just Imagine. A grizzled space cop stuxk on Earth fighting crime so someone can sfford to build him a spaceship to go home. Hilarious
Its still precrisis but aftwr the crisis retconned changes? Thats my understanding
Hope you're having a good day
YES!
General Sam Lane and General Thaddeus Ross
Is this a repost? I swear i saw this before 😭
Link?
I remember the intro and everything word for word, just within the last couple weeks i watched this for sure . Maybe it's a parallel dimension 😭☠️
@@whitezombified Write it out here.
Like for the jokes and sub for the comic history lessons. Now I hope they eventually cover superman/Fantastic four
Yooo 🙏
Kryptohulk?
Or if hulk was grey and kryptonite made hulk green!
Hulk doomsday is the ticket
Do Tim Taylor’s run on Nightwing please 🙏
Take a shot every time the guys say Gamma Gun
Who has the rights to hulk that they can't make a movie?
Universal
@@comicpop that's incredibly lame.

I disagree and find the sibling universes concept pretty cool, but I get why that rubs people the wrong way.
I'll never forget the first Amalgam book I had was the fucking ManThing and ManBat crossover and it was called Swamp Bat Thing or something it was awful.
Hulknite?
