Hi Liz! Any smoky ham will do! You're going to love them 😊. Just make sure you use the measurements I provided because I didn't film when I added the 2nd half of the milk. Oops..
Absolutely Spanish origin. Most of the Cuban population was originally from Spain, including my grandparents on both sides. This is why they are so popular in Cuba. There is a Spanish flair in most Cuban food. These evolved are very much traditional in Cuban culture.
How cute is your family! I'm taking care of my dad too I understand completely and I'm a new follower and subscriber! Thank you for the recipe! Bendiciones 💕
Hi Elizabeth! I THINK that on that day I used a package of pre diced ham (perhaps John Morell) and I ran it through the food processor. But, any smokey ham will do!
What is "complete seasoning"? What kind of ham? How do I make sure I get that smooth (not chunky) ham texture? Croquettes are my favorite!! Just got back from Miami and want to try making them at home. Thanks!!
Welcome Krista! It is Badia complete seasoning. If you don't find it, Amazon sells it. I use it on everything, you'll love it. Use your favorite smoky ham and run it through the food processor or mince it tiny by hand. Use the amount of milk I stated in the video since I realize that I didn't film when I added the 2nd half of it. Follow my steps and they are going to be amazing, you'll see. Report back and let me know!
Thank you I learned a lot, I like your approach to cooking and the way you make it seem easy best wishes with you dad, I know how exhausting that can be
Spanish immigrants formed a huge percentage of the Cuban population. Many of our grandparents/ great-grandparents are originally Spaniards. There is a lot of Spanish influence in Cuban food. Hence, the Cuban croqueta... Spanish origin tweaked with local ingredients.

Guys, with Cuban she meant Spanish.
Just a little typo!

Hi! Which ham did you use to make them? Any particular brand ?

How did croquettes become so popular in Cuba?

I’m trying my hand at these croquettes since my grandson is a picky eater. Fingers crossed 😊
Good luck! They are really good. Let me know if he approves! By the way, add all the milk, I realize the video only caught me adding half of it. 🤦🏻♀️
That looks awesome!!!
Delicious!
Looks DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😋

Sorry but the croquetas of jamón is spanish tradition. Not cuban.
Absolutely. Most Cuban dishes are of Spanish origin.
