They are beautiful. I'm a makarov fan and own several. Might have to get one of these for my collection.
The grips aren't meant to be wood effect. They are fiber reinforced plastic. Standard Soviet construction for grips.
The paper they ship everything in they claim is impregnated with a rust inhibiting chemical, but who knows what it really is.
Where can I get magazines\clips for the gen 5
Hi from Canada. Real nice gun. I have the 2013 gen 5. Do you put Pellgunoil or Silicone oil on the tip of the CO2 and do you oil the rest of the gun. Thanks.
Cool cheers mate, does it have a seam around the frame? The ones from the early days I head were the real deal but co2 instead of 9mm so should be seamless
Very nice review, interesting how the manufacturers IZH, have changed the way that they modify the cartridge firing version to the co2 one. I did a 2 part review of this a few years ago, which is still on UA-cam, you may have seen it. My personal model has 2 mags and has a rifled barrel - is that a gen 1 version?
devizesco all of the makarov's have rifled barrels as far as i know. if you can post a picture of yours on our facebook page i'll be able to tell you what generation it is. thanks. James@ReplicaReviews
Can you do a review on the Bailak Makarov Generation 6, please?
Replica Reviews what do you think of the Umarex Makarov , non blowback , I have seen some god reviews, okay its not tool steel but its a lot cheaper than the Baikal version , V V
Nice review i do have to say i was convinced for a moment it was a firearm until i saw the BB's but but i believe the reason the magazines are not interchangeable is the gen5 is using a an older 8round frame an the other is a 12round frame when there funtioning firearms. But i agree about the slide being a bit difficult but thats mostly getting back into place.
G1LLA thanks! it is certainly a realistic pistol, which i think is part the reason i like it so much. thanks for the information about the magazine though, always useful to learn more about these pistols. i'll be doing a field strip video and a comparison between so hopefully i'll get the hang of getting the slide on and off easily! James@ReplicaReviews
What's better gen 5 or gen 4 in terms of realism?
Cool gun, makarovs 👍🏻👍🏻
hi..i have makarvo 4.5 cal.....can i use pellets instead using BBS?thnx
You can’t.
Some Gen 5's have the all blued polished slide. Mine does.
ah ok, i didn't realise they were doing two versions... would you be able to post a picture on our facebook page? would be really interested in seeing it as the only gen 5's i've seen here in the UK are the same as the one in my review... thanks, James@Replica@reviews
ReplicaReviews
Done..
Great video, cool gun, I love makarovs. Money no object I'd have one of each variant ..... and I wouldn't shoot them either .... I'd have a couple of spares ;)
They are amazing pistols with such a great history. The goal for us is going to have one of each generation. We are looking at getting a second gen 5 in for the shooting test and to have as a day to day shooter. Aaron@ReplicaReviews
How can I tell if its a generation 1 ?
see the serial number, if its t 97 to t-99 its gen 1
Looking at the serial number that pistol was made in 2012.
Are these rare now? I can't fine one anywhere apart from rusmilitary.com and I'm not to sure how reliable they are.
TGGamesmaster i think there are supply issues at the moment, i'm fairly sure york guns are no longer importing them, but the sportsmans gun centre are... i'll post up any info i find as and when i find out on our facebook page. James@ReplicaReviews
I just wish they have polished the flats on top of slide to make it same as the side of slide which is a bit polished blue. That's how the real ones look.
+ybrik5 i think that would look great, good idea that! james
If you had to choose which one is better out of this one and the 2004 version, which would you pick?
E. C. Cannarella it's hard to say. the 2004 is more collectable, so in that respect it wins there. but the gen 5 is just nicer i think, the ejection port is cut out, the grips are nicer, and it just looks great... i was never a fan of the grips on the 04 makarov... that said my new nickel version makarov is now my favourite, i have a full review over on my page now, it just ticks all the boxes! James@ReplicaReviews
Will this air gun kill mice at close range??
i wouldn't want to try to be honest... there are far better ways to dispatch a mouse. you'd still need a headshot to guarantee a clean kill, mice move quick so good luck with that! as i say, there's way better options to kill a mouse.
Спуск на нем слишком тугой и щелей много, газ в пустую тратится. Но выглядит он внушительно)
Hey man! Is rusmilitary.com a safe site to buy this pistol from? It doesnt seem so safe...
+Drăcușoru' Joacă to be honest i don't know anyone thats used them... so i couldn't say yes or no really. sorry. james
Drăcușoru' hey man, did the website turn out to be safe? I'm also looking at getting from them
@@leroywilson6588 Hey it may be a bit late in the day for a reply buy rusmilitary are legit and safe to buy from. I recently bought a Gen 4 blued with marble bakalite grips. Very nice ! good communication with the owner and arrived quickly. I live in the UK.
Where did you buy this?
your local RFD should be able to get one in for you. james
I live in Newcastle bagnall and kirkwood aren't able to get one in, only place I can find is rusrussia not sure if they are trust worthy tho ReplicaReviews
RUS can distribute direct to your RFD.... they are a distributor as a supplier to the public. your local shop should just be able to order from them with no issues, mine did!
I will contact kirkwood to see if they can if not would u recommend ordering directly from rus not sure if I should trust the store or not ReplicaReviews
Is this gun legal in the U.S
i'm fairly sure there's an import ban on these in the US , james
My Makarov is leaking gas it is an older one , its the 2nd mag I have bought its at least 10 years old I might be looking to sell it, I love the gun its so realistic but this is the second time the mag has leaked , its a lot of money for a new mag ,, V V
Nice review. :) Is it a blowback gun?
Qyuubi786 unfortunately not. thanks for the feedback, feel free to check out our facebook page! James@ReplicaReviews
I am looking for a Makarov is anyone here is willing to sell please let me know!!
They are nice guns would love to have one someday.
thanks!
Christine Caissie if you're in the uk just go to any RFD that has an account with York Guns and you should be able to get one. James@ReplicaReviews
but is that one that is made of the real gun parts though? I am looking for one and I came across the webpage www rusmilitary.com who are spupposed to sell Baikal Makarov gen4 and I ordered one, but I don't know, do you know if thay still sell it, or is it an old webpage that haven't updated the webapge information. The reason I'm doubting is because people say that it's supposed to be rare to get one of those produced with the real gun parts, so it seems to good to be true that this webpage should still sell it. It was stil possible to place an order though, and it didn't say "sold out" on it, even t hough it did on other products they were selling. So I placed an order but sent then an e-mail also to be sure.
Does the slide move back?
It can be moved, but it doesn’t move when shooting.
Hello me again ,it looks like I will be selling mine its Gen 4 or older its over 10 years old , spoke to the Guy at Rus military , about fixing the mags have tried no luck , so if anyone is interested let me know , its a nice Gun hard plastic case all the tools etc V V
I have the older one , do not use it that much ,
Villy Vassell same, it comes out for video's and thats about it. should really sell it but i like it too much. James@ReplicaReviews
ReplicaReviews I have 2 mags one does not work .,I have tried too replace the seals but could not unscrew the housing they are in , I am sure that someone with more patience could fix it , V V
Villy Vassell I will sell it if interested
+Villy Vassell you still have it?
Don’t know if you’re actually going to see this comment but I think I have the original
Nice!
@@ReplicaReviews I think it’s a 97 serial starts T007 had it for absolute years wanted to find out a bit of the history of the gun stumbled across your video from what I figure out it must be a 97 not selling it but is it actually worth something just because it’s rare doesn’t mean it’s got value
thats a shame they did not made this gun in blowback
They can't without changing parts to lighter versions. It's build to last, like outlive humanity. With the real 9mm spring and all, slide is so stiff that no co2 could make it blow back.
