I have an early version think 2000, I find the Gamo lead balls can be a swine to load. Some fit perfectly others don't. Excite and SMK bbs no problems but as you say not ideal. I note the Gamos in yours loaded very easily have you don a modification?

To be brutally honest, the Baikal Makarov is so much better than the Umarex version it is embarrassing. The Umarex gun is lightweight, innaccurate, is painted glossy black, has ridiculously flimsy grips and is not a good replica overall. Buy the Baikal and see how replica co2 pistols should be made.
