    I find the Coil superior to the Air shock, i made a Video (on my channel) where i tested them back to back, also i‘ve ridden the air shock for 10 months and the coil several times now. Coil feels way nicer :)

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  2 роки тому

      Oh nice, yeah I watched the video now, my Deutsch is a bit rusty though haha!
      It seems like the frame performs better with coil, or at least aloooot of people agree on that.
      Probably due to quite progressive linkage design that works well with a more linear shock.
      Air is pretty much always more harsh but iv'e heard it's "too harsh" with this frame.
      I actually don't think that the bike is sluggish or not playfull with the coil, it pops out of corners like a pogo-stick and I'm loving it 😁

    hey dude,
    im thinking of buying a frame only and building the bike up
    i race enduro and dh and i was wondering if this bike could handle it well? im looking for basically just a big super enduro bike almost that can tackle any terrain. would the bike suit me?

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  Рік тому

      Sup Archie,
      Nice idea for a project, I think next time I buy a bike i'll do a frame-only for sure.
      Iv'e raced this bike this season and for me it's been such a treat, I know some people get the Spindrift instead but for racing I would say that the Tyee would fit better. Climbs well. It's light. and it bombs.
      It's a god damn tank to be honest.
      No need to go up in travel more tbh.
      I even left my DH-bike (YT Tyee) in the garage when hitting the bike park last season, the Tyee is just much more fun, sure it's not possible to absolutely bomb a rock garden like a Dh-rig, you lack that stiffness and rigidity from the frame.
      But it's really near. Sure i'm riding high end suspension, but it sounds like you may do that too.
      I'll try and give some downsides and that would be that it's of course a bit lazy on the flat terrain sections, and you need to put energy to go forward, but that's just the case of most big enduro bikes right. :)
      I do quite abit of just easy trail riding and it's quite enjoyable but not as enjoyable as on my 130mm trail bike.

    Looks nice! You said it was a big bike. How tall are you and what is your inseam? Sorry if you said it and I missed it. Do you think it will be a good trail bike or is it too burly? I'm thinking about one with an air shock.
    Also not very good that they didn't check with you about the seat post first.

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  2 роки тому +2

      Hey,
      I'm 186cm / 6ft1
      Inseam not sure - But got kind of long legs.
      If only used as a trail bike I think the Hugene would be a good option, it should be very capable downhill as well but a bit more lively.
      Havn't had too many runs on this one yet, and the ones that iv'e had have been in snowy trails so hard to tell how it feels haha -
      In short, the climbing is awesome on this bike, the steep seat tube angle puts you forward and linkage is subtle and does not lose grip when techy.
      It is a downhill bomber for sure though, so if you want to pump and have fun on flatter trails I think it's abit too stable and I would prefer less travel and steeper headtube.
      Bike feels high and it's noticeable, BB is kind of high too.
      Not a dealbreaker at all for me but it's there.
      I know many people went with coil on the Tyee because of the leverage ratio of the frame seems to be "better" with coil, and people that have used air shocks on this frame tend to say it became too harsh.
      But that's all personal, Air is probably just fine tbh.
      Hope this helps with your choice. :)

      @@Frorideism Thanks for your Answer :) I'm ordering it from Spain and the setup is full factory with the fox transfer and fox float dpx2, magura mt7, transmision gx and stock rims. I'm currently riding on a xc bike with downhill bars and stem and I'm a little bit tired of the long waiting 😅

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  2 роки тому

      @@theendurorookie Of course dude no problem!
      Okay! Well me and a bunch of other's have had many bikes delayed because of the specific Fox Transfer seatpost - apperently it is on hold at the suppliers.
      Also the GX parts sometimes becomes delayed.
      I would send Propain an email and maybe ask what the hold up is and if there are any specific parts they're waiting for.
      Because once they have all the parts they will build the bike in just a few days.
      haha sounds like you really have a sick build to look forward to then mate, and a bit of an upgrade ;)

      I think it’s a sick build too😍 I was confused if the dpx2 was going to be a good option for me but I’m not going to make big drops and jumps so I thought it will be.

    Please how tall are you for a L size frame? I am 1,82cm and hesitating between M and L... thanks

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  2 роки тому +1

      I’m 186cm and I was also debating between the sizes.
      I think I replied to some other comment here on this video before - I think he was your height too.
      So scroll down abit and I think you can find that comment ☺️
      In short I chose L because I felt that the toptube/reach on the M may have been to short to my liking.
      The wheelbase and chainstay is very long however, seattube aswell so the L is a taller bike.
      If i was 182 I may have chosen a size M to get a more nimble bike, it has 25mm smaller wheelbase, like 10mm lower stack and 20mm less reach.
      But!
      For your length I think it’s more like a personal taste, do you like a smaller or bigger bike, y’know?
      Both will work.
      Large will be abit more stable and medium abit more nimble.
      Enduro WC racers tend to size down instead of up, faster cornering.
      I can say after riding the Large that yes it’s a quite big bike but I can still throw it around like it’s nothing and it’s really playfull regardless.
      i’m happy with my L, It all comes down to preference at this point really since you’re in between sizes.
      Hope this helps!
      /A

    Did you consider Spindrift?

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism  Рік тому

      Yes and no, I did consider it, but I was actually probably more considering the Hugene VS Tyee to be honest.
      For what I needed; the Spindrift was too much of a beast of a bike, a-lot due to it's high travel.
      I have a friend that rides a SD and I think it's sometimes overkill for what we are riding most of the times.
      I wanted a bike that would be a perfect partner for full-length enduro races, boosting bike park jumps and smashing rock gardens.
      The spindrift felt good for the 2/3 of these priorities.
      The Tyee hit the spot for 3/3, just probably a little bit jankier over extremely rough terrain.

      @Frorideism  2 роки тому +1

      @@mathiaslyberis2705 Have only had 1 ride so far without like 30cm snow so a bit hard to tell right now haha,
      But my first impressions was that even though it's a very stable and solid ride, I still felt very connected to the trail and could feel the ground underneath.
      While some other bikes just eat up the trail, this one keeps you steady - but still very subtle and great feedback.
      Was easy to pop, even with the coil shock.
      It's a long bike, and quite high BB, so will take some getting used to and I think it needs alot of active body positioning to really get everything out of it.
      All in all I could feel that it wants to go fast, and it came alive when bombing.
      If I was 180cm I would chose the size M probably.
      Just because I think it's already a big bike and I think too many people oversize their bikes to "keep steady at speed". While it actually may make the ride a bit too lazy you know?
      Looking at the EWS, most of the worlds best racers use smaller bikes.
      And it's a 29 so it's already got that stability :)
      I chose L because Iv'e got long legs and arms and i'm 186cm - The reach (on M) seemed too short for my taste.
      Check out the wheelbase too, it's quite long on the L size.
      That being said I'm sure both M and L would be good for someone who's 180, depending on riding style etc!
