    1:51 No surprise Trek had a bike with something wrong with it, this bike had issues with chain drops, this bike bike came with 5mm spacer instead of 7mm spacer behind the ISCG bash guard with Sram Transmission, and 6 mm with Shimano. Also angle was wrong on the lower guide. I don't know if this really fixed the issue, but I hope it did.

    3:28 The design is very different to how Meta was for years, I hope these won't have issues, as previous Meta bikes could have issues with bearings being pushed out and pivots rubbing. I think I saw a post on Facebook where an rider had this issue, but he did not catch it early so he ruined the bearing bore bearing was loose.

      Its the dumbest thing ever internal routing in general is pants specially for brakes so you have to detach either the caliper or lever to get them off then you need to bleed brakes etc i always pull the cables out the frames and zip tie them to the outside of the frame so you can take them off in seconds and dont need to rebleed them

      My future Trek Slash gen 5 (I don't want high pivot on first 29er mountain bike) and Trek Emonda ALR are going to enjoy internal routing but only the brakes (Trek Slash only get rear), nothing external as both will have budget groupsets, Trek Emonda ALR I'm looking at SRAM red etap axs and Trek Slash I'm looking at SRAM eagle XX1 though as enduro wonder to weigh it down with XO1 instead

    6:08 Definitely an interesting bike and interesting way of making bikes. Their custom fit is a great idea too. I'm curious how Carbon Titanium mix would handle taking the bike out in super low sub zero temps. As it uses two different materials. So what I'm curious about is thermal shrinkage and expansion. I know carbon frames with Alu BB shell had issues with BB shell coming loose, so I'm curious how it is with titanium and carbon. I know carbon has a great thermal stability. Do anyone know?
    So lets say I take the bike out from room temp to -10C will it do damage? what about -20C?

    • @simonm1447
      @simonm1447 6 місяців тому +1

      I think the main problem with aluminium BB shells in CF frames is corrosion. Titanium will likely have less a problem here, since it's also used for medical implants because it's corrosion resistant.
      However you may get the same with a stainless steel BB shell, with very little more weight.

      I wonder why they did not make with titanium tubes instead of carbon ? And with real welds

    • @simonm1447
      @simonm1447 6 місяців тому

      @@lefthorse1 titanium is not that simple to work with - and welding it is not trivial, the welds can get brittle and crack later if the welder makes mistakes.
      Contrary to automated aluminium frame production lines the TI frame would be likely hand made since nobody has ever made these frames in an automated production.

    • @mtbboy1993

      Depends on the terrain you ride, I live in Norway, so most of the country has areas where enduro bike is useful. I mostly use 150mm travel where I live, but on the gnarlier and rougher trails I do use up 170mm travel. But an enduro bike will make harder trails easier, more room for error. But if you are in a flatter area without any gnar or very rough trails, or do big hits, then it's overkill.
      Yes second hand market can have really nice bikes.

    Be aware of headset cable routing , its such a nightmare to work with , AND the cables create an internal steering friction, just enough to be not able to drive the bike with no hands on the handlebar . And secondly , the alloy frames (ex Commencal) comes with a LARGE cut out (30 mm ) hole near the bottom bracket , its the weakest point of the frame , they need to stop doing this ... i know that hole its for dropper post cable managing , but its wrong , that DP cable should exit at the upper part of the down tube , just where the brake and shift cables exit

    Ok, stop it! Internal cable routing for headsets? No. For you guys to compliment and endorse internal cable for MTB is what’s wrong with the bike media. Mountain bikers don’t need the hassle of internet headset cables.
    Also, the Propain? C’mon guys. The suspension may ride ok, but all that clutter for the shock and for it to work is the brands gimmick to attract buyers. Just look at the old Giant suspension where they sunk it down at the same level as the crank. Now they got rid of that trash and have a simpler design. Propain is doing the same. Why do you bike media folks feed into this fluff and push it out to the public? Out of all the engineers and suspension minds/experts out there that they couldn’t think of this design before Propain did? Stop it. You guys are turning in GCN and pushing out fluff material for viewers. 👎🏼
