20 years after a pandemic has radically changed known civilization, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons; whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a violent survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a small job soon transforms into a brutal journey across the U.S.
This is one of the best episodes of any show of all time.
Its a masterpiece bottle of an episode. Absolutely flawlessly done and i'm glad this exists in the world. I am not gay but I come back to this quite a bit when I am sad about love because love is love.
@@scottystcloud7086 very well said :), couldnt agree more with you
It haunted me for days after I saw it. So, so beautiful.
I love they got Murray Bartlett a trained singer and Broadway star to sing badly
i was just wondering if he was a singer! it seemed like a pretend bad performance , and really it was only the piano that was bad, but then when he sings "and" he has such a beautiful twang sound
And told Offerman to sing mediocre...
Not gay. Straight as sa arrow. But there lovestory even moved me. Seriously. I freely admit it moved me.
i was in tears.
well, they're people. and it's love. how can love between people not move anyone?
Thanks for clearing that up man. We all thought you were extremely gay for watching this before you corrected the record. Close call.
@@PerrinCarrell very funny.
I get what you’re pointing at. “Why even mention your straight, you could just say you enjoyed the show”.
I did. I only mentioned it because I noticed a lot of people are very biased. I was trying to illustrate as a straight man, I appreciate the narrative regardless
It doesn't make us less straight, nor less masculine, to see a well-written love story and appreciate it.
The only thing I can say is that it shows you are more secure in your masculinity and preferences if you can see this story and appreciate how well it is written and performed even though you do not identify with their desires.
So sweet
Frank's gaydar is impeccable.
Frank, "You know how much these are worth?". Bill, "Currently nothing." The acting in this scene, from start to finish, is simply fantastic!
“Currently nothing” 😂
Realer then any love story I’ve seen so far
shrugged shoulders very reserved and not wanting love. bill turned around after this
Love will abide
Take things in stride
Sounds like good advice
But there's no one at my side
And time washes clean love's wounds unseen
That's what someone told me
But I don't know what it means.
'Cause I've done everything I know
To try and make you mine
And I think I'm gonna love you
For a long long time.
Caught in my fears
Blinking back the tears
I can't say you hurt me
When you never let me near
And I never drew one response from you
All the while you fell all over girls you never knew.
'Cause I've done everything I know
To try and make you mine
And I think it's gonna hurt me
For a long long time.
Wait for the day you'll go away
Knowing that you warned me
Of the price I'd have to pay
And life's full of flaws
Who knows the cause?
Living in the memory of a love that never was.
'Cause I've done everything I know
To try and change your mind
And I think I'm gonna miss you
For a long long time.
'Cause I've done everything I know
To try and make you mine
And I think I'm gonna love you
For a long long time.
thankyou :)
Thank you for the lyrics ❤
I watched this the day it was released, along with my sisters, then my dad in the table.
It was akward and funny since we watched the entire episode without knowing he was behind, barely watching
What amazing acting by both actors. It's like he showed us the hidden side of Ron Swanson that we all suspected was there!
That lovely gay panic at the end
My fiancé is a bit left of center, while I am a bit right of center. When we first started dating, we watched this together. After the episode was over she said, “I’m sorry if that made you uncomfortable.” I said, “Why would that make me uncomfortable?” “Well,” she said, “I know conservatives don’t really like gay people.” I laughed and explained that most of us don’t care one way or the other, and that I thought it was a beautiful episode that was done extremely well. Nick and Murray did an amazing job together.
Love is love.
I’m gay and I love Linda Ronstadt
When u reach the next level of brotherhood.
❤😢
ron swanson takes one for….the. team?
Why can't I quit you !!! Broke-back Apocalype!
Oh! I forgot! That song makes me want to die.
Excuse me a moment.
What is the name of the song? I would be grateful if you could help me find the song.
Long Long Time by Linda Ronstadt

didnt they just meet on this day?
I feel like Frank had motives to charm Bill so that he could survive but I guess their relationship worked in the end.
Yeah, a few hours before really. Frank got trapped in one of his traps, and Bill came out thinking was a zombie. Only to find him. Brought him in to have a meal. Then well, you saw from there. They lived 20 more years before dying together, taking crushed pills. Frank had some degenerative disease at that point. Great episode. Season 1, Episode 3. HBO
@@BawkzersYeah...I thought it was a bit predatory, but it did Bill good overall to have a partnership and emotional attachment. No harm done.
I think an interesting thing to keep in mind is that Bill has probably been alone for weeks or even months at this point in the apocalypse fending for himself, and Frank has been out on the road witnessesing the absolute worst of humanity, and in this tiny little moment in the middle of the end of the world, they both got to have a genuine human interaction, and whether it turned out to be romantic or not, that definitely would bring some overwhelming emotions to even the hardest of souls.
When the world is ending, you probably learn to not waste time.
I aint gay and i dont really fw the lgbt stuff but this made me cry hard
So are a little gay
@@Gfunk0087 i was gay b4 but then i became straight again i was like fuckin 10 years old when i came out then when i turned 12 i realised that it was wrong and the lgbt shouldnt like push their agenda to kids so i became straight again
anybody else puke?
From the saccharine sweetness of this moment, yes
no, that wouldn't happen above a mental age of 14
I had to fast forward it

Only people with gay fantasies speak the way you do. Embrace your gayness bro.
They make Nick gay to humiliate him professionally. But then again he signed up for this.
I don't think they make Nick do anything he doesn't want to do. He is professional actor, and this is an interesting role to take on.
@@Swarm509 You are right, you know him so how can I argue?
He took this role intentionally, watch an interview clown 😂 stay bitter

Because every show, even a post-apocalypse survival show, must have a focus on woke narratives.
It is part of the human experience.
@@shineyrow9001 Yes it's part of the human experience... less than 10% of the time but nearly 100% of the time in tv shows and movies. Not to mention the rate of real monagamy in those relationships is FAR higher in tv/movies than in reality. I'm sure the writers and producers are regretting not making one of those two characters trans.
It’s a beautiful lovestory and you’d love it if only one of them was a woman wouldn’t you?
It must genuinely suck having to exclude yourself from so many great pieces of art because of something as stupid as thinking there’s a “woke narrative”
@@shineyrow9001 It's part of the human experience 10% of the time or less, but it's part of more than 50% of entertainment industry stories.
@@mmandible5470 Funny how hollywood must make it seem like it's so much more prevalent than reality, and make it seem like most gay men are monogamous and just like straight married couples... but the majority are not. I lived in the gay neighborhood of a major city for years... I saw few monogamous couples and a huge amount of risky, multiple partners per night and middle aged men with teenage boys conduct. Funny how that side is rarely portrayed in movies/tv.
This is one of the most beautiful scenes of all time 🥹
