Unfortunately there are a lot of them. No wonder we as humanity haven't evolved. Too many of us are fueled by hate for people who are "different" even if it doesn't affect our own lives. We as humans apparently just need to blame "others" for everything.
I think the thing that got me about these reactions is that, I'm still so used to seeing all the hate we gay couples get for just being, seeing so many people who just see it as a beautiful story not "ew why shove this down our throats" is what makes me cry to the reaction video. People are people and here we can all be heart broken together over Tess and bill and frank because they are people not something different or weird. Thank you to all the reactors who are making me feel like I can actually be like them. Just people
Sadly, there are plenty of people who bashed this episode just because the show was "pushing an agenda" down their throats with Bill and Frank. From those who said in the game it's only hinted they are a couple to those who just outright hate the show showing a gay couple growing old together in love. If this literally didn't show those people that ANYONE can fall in love, be in love, and grow old together (and well I guess die together in the show's lore) and they happen to be two men, I'm not sure what else can be said to those people. This was a perfect way to show two people falling in love etc. Trust me, there are way more people who are accepting and supportive than those who would deny existence itself let alone hate.
@@LordLOC All we can do is focus on the supporters and ignore the haters who can't understand that everybody deserves to be loved no matter who they are
I'm happy that they decided to go in depth with Bill and Frank's backstory like this. I keep seeing posts on the web from people saying that they're done with the show because of the episode. I say good riddance. I don't have the patience for that type of negativity anymore.
Nicely done video man. This is probably the most emotional episode of the entire series so far. I’m so glad we got to learn about Bill and Franks relationship.❤
Played the game years ago. I didn't like the episode and I even doubted the necessity for the expansion of Bill's storyline, but now I think I got how this will pay off for the finale. Henry and Sam will be on next and what happens there will also be a big influence to Joel about what he wants or don't want. I don't think there was any better way to put the point across to the audience in this passive medium but to show Bill and Frank's latter life. So I now give this episode two thumbs up. Oh man this show is awesome.
Here's two things I liked which could be true: A nod to Joel's pre apocalypse job, construction of some sort, with his knowledge of the galvanized steel fence. A little symbolism/connection, Ellie finds the gun that Frank loaded that one night. Ellie is now the person Joel will protect like Bill protected Frank.
Totally gay tho....it could have been an amazing friendship story of a man alone and who has forgotten most of humanity but has his restored...it literally could have topped walking dead in 1 episode...but no that just have to inject gay anywhere they can....I just want good stories again with out all the sex stuff 😩
The acting was good sure, but the writing wasn't, it was filled with plot contrivances. Bill and Franks relationship was incredibly forced. I mean you mean to tell me that after the outbreak Bill has been totally alone for years. He hasn't come across a single person, and the first person he meets after years of being alone just so happens to be another gay man? Like come on, that is silly. If Frank was a part of a large group that Bill encountered that would be a different story. Also Bill, the paranoid survivalist turns his back to this random guy he just met to play the piano? Not even considering the possibility that this guy could try to kill him and take over his town?

Well, if you ask me, I'd say these two won the apocalypse. To be able to go out on your own terms, together with one you love, is a win in my book. Sad, but really romantic.😔
Honestly for the first part of the first episode it took me a minute to figure out whether they actually were or not😂I was like how do they watch the show? So many??
I watched this episode alone not having a clue what was to come. I have never cried so much in my life. It's the next day and I am still feeling it. I can't say I have ever seen more onscreen chemistry than with these two brilliant actors.
My wife and I were just shattered by the end. We just sat there in silence for a while, crying. We still can't talk about the episode together without tearing up. On our most recent anniversary, I posted a message for her that I was going to love her for a long, long time.
To be able to take two relatively unknown characters(Especially to those who never play the game) and had viewers invested in less than 90 minutes is nothing short of brilliance. Kudos to Craig Mazin for writing such a beautiful story that rewards those who understand and experience relationship. To Peter Hoar who directed this episode masterfully. Of course two amazing actors in Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett for conveying that humanity effortlessly.
For those who want a rough timeline for when they drink the wine, it's roughly a month before Episode 1 picks up with Joel after the 20 year time skip. The default playlist plays if it's not reset after around 3-4 weeks and at the end of Episode 1 the frequency resets which means Bill and Frank had been there for about a month before Joel and Ellie got to the compound.
My brother was the one who told me this, during the scene where Frank is talking to Bill about his last day, he said that if the Apocalypse started when it did, then the bill for gay marriage would’ve never been passed. Making this scene even more sad then it already was
If you really think about it, this was perfect. As a man Frank survived the infection and turn up at Bill’s house. Bill after quite some time living without anyone around him, was uncomfortable at first but welcomed the company. Maybe a little bit of desperation on both of their parts but they ended up sharing intimacy after not being able to have that experience for a number of years, fell in love, grew old together and ultimately dying together. All of this in one episode. Hats off!
I assume killing them both off was to eliminate the possibility of Joel either leaving Ellie with them, unloading the task of transporting her off to them, or having to contrive a reason why they wouldn't also join the group in such an important venture.
@@Solkard I don’t think his character, how they would have portrayed them, would have done that. If they were alive they would be too old to deal with her nonsense. And she wouldn’t have settled there, being too young but old enough to still be on her journey.
@@Justitia_Nomen If they were doing how it originally went, Bill would never take Ellie. Joel would come, argue with Bill (and other shit would happen) and leave, in the story it didn't add that much, this way was much better for sorytelling purpose. Now Henry and Sam... oh boy, the original is perfect, i'm praying they don't change it.
I kinda of wished they would have Ellie meet Bill like she did in the game where he handcuffed her to a pipe and and the back and forth between Joel Eillie and Bill. But the backstory here was absolutely amazing
Bill and Frank's story is one of the most beatiful love stories ever told in TV. This is one of the best episodes in modern tv i've seen. Had me crying the entire time.
16:15 Bill puts the plate down the same way he did the first time they met. The first time he twisted the plate away from himself. The second time he put it down and twisted the placemate to show they we on different paths when they met and by the end they were on the same road.. same heart. One life well lived. I can’t with this show😭
I absolutely love watching these reactions. Can't put my finger on exactly why. I usually watch the more nerdy shows alone (my wife doesn't care for them too much), so I guess its like someone else is enjoying them with me and sharing similar feelings towards them. BUT after making her watch the first episode she was hooked and we watched all 3 in one night!!! This episode had us nearly weeping together. I also come from a conservative family who would mostly scoff at the fact that I enjoy this show so much for different reasons so its nice to be able to share it with others. I can't wait for the rest of this season and the Mandalorian next month!
When people let go of the hate they learn to love and enrich themselves. That's what Bill and Frank did, I just wish a small minority of the audience understood that and maybe they'd have seen how truly magnificent this episode was.
20:15 "you gotta wipe your ass with something" hahaha ... a subtle nod to previous episode where Ellie was thrown a magazine to wipe... love is in the details.
This episode wrecked me. I was legit bawling, snot running out of my nose, tears running down my face ugly crying. This episode was heartbreaking and so beautiful at the same time.
Had a stressing day. Then Lo and behold, a surprise reaction compilation just brings free seratonin. Just destressing my system. Thank you, J2O. You're a real one frfr. But let's be real, this episode was a rollercoaster of happiness, then heartbreak.
The beauty of this episode is that it subverts our expectations. We've been conditioned through modern storytelling to fear everything, especially the benign, the innocuous, especially in this particular genre of horror, so when we encounter a story about caring and trust and commitment, we don't know how to process it; it hits hard. 'I was not expecting this' seems to be the most common refrain. This is a series about a 'zombie apocalypse' where anyone and everyone can go from being a loved one to a mortal threat in an instant and yet this particular episode is about love, matrimonial and romantic; a masterpiece. This is one of the best stories ever told on film, in my opinion and it's based on a video game. We've come a long way from Pong.
I've seen many movies and seasonal programs in my lifetime, however, I have to say this episode from The Last Of Us is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Extremely well polished, great acting and a lovely story. I find it hard to believe if anyone isn't moved by it. And I'll keep re-watching this episode for a long..., long..., time.
This episode is a masterpiece of storytelling, cinematography, soundtrack, acting and edition. I dont care if is a show about zombies, i dont care about the game, i dont care if they are 2 men, 2 women, 1 men and 1 women, this episode is a mastercraft. High Series, High narrative. Last time something kick me like this was Tru Detective Season 1. Thunderous applause.

Great emotional episode and the best of the series so far. Nick And Murray deserve Emmy Wins. I wish Bill survived so we got the scenes with him, Joel and Ellie but it made sense for the character. The chemistry between Bill And Frank is spot on. Loving this show and can't wait for the rest.
I really love your editing. Making it seem like all the reactors are in a huge watch party together. Also the way you edit makes it look like some of the reactors are actually responding and talking to each other. Nice job, can’t wait for more reactions!!
I wanted to say that the editing of this video was fantastic, the feeling of people being in the same room talking worked very well! I was very impressed with the idea and execution of it, congratulations!
Amazing episode. Not what I expected and something I would not have been excited for had I known before hand, but it was so well done I loved every second of it.
Love how critically acclaimed the episode was so now homophobes can't hide behind whatever bullshit, thinly veiled criticism they were gonna latch onto. And yet they still tried to accuse it as filler, which it isn't considering it explores the show's themes, parallels Joel's character arc, and propels the story onto the next journey.
Well done! I cried along with everyone else at the special parts of the episode. One of the best 90 minutes spent watching television. Thanks for doing this!
This episode made me cry the first time I saw it. But seeing these people reacting to this made me cry even more. It is a romantic and sad episode. Both loved each other so much, that the other can't live without the other. In a world, where zombies took over the world, love is the only thing worth to save. So it is understandeble, that both chose the way how to say goodbye to this world.
I am grateful for this beautiful depiction of a gay male couple living together in love, dying together with grace and dignity on their own terms. For me this is an amazing tribute to all my gay brothers, friends and lovers stricken with AIDS some of whom died in my arms or holding my hands and some who who died frightened and alone because I couldn't be there for them. Thank you to all these fans for reacting to this with such care and human compassion.
How is that no one really saw that Frank was suffering. He was in pain. And as someone who is madly in love with my wife, I wouldn’t hesitate giving my wife peace. I wouldn’t want her to suffer because of my selfishness of wanting to keep her around.
My mom who usually feels uncomfortable with gay and lesbian related topics found this episode to be the best episode of any TV show that she has ever watched(that includes TWD and GOT), it broke her she literally cried her eyes out.
Same here. In my experience, it was rare to enjoy shows that had gay characters not because of the characters themselves, but because the stories weren’t anything special and felt more like the production prioritized “diversity” over a good story. This episode however, is a perfect story to tell. Prefer it over the game as well.
Love this episode, it depicts Bill’s freedom to do want he wants as a doomsday preppier but also allows him to finally express his sexuality freely. I’m glad that they adapted the game and gave us an absolute masterpiece of an episode.
What ticks me off about many people reacting to the beginning is, so few understanding Ellie. Barking at Joel, what happened is not "her fault", is her trying to convince him AND herself that it's not. That's how some kids react when involved in tragedies. She lacks the emotional and mental tools to process a loss of that magnitude. Especially because of the strict environment she grew up in. Girl is just trying badly to protect herself. Man, this show is something else. Great editing man, all the feels, were felt.
(many to this day gripe about 'Andor') Ep 5 has a scenario about fear and a potential to "blame" after Cassian admits that he is being paid to be there *:* " . . . *but don't us me as an excuse.* " vaguely similar( microscopic spoiler ) cheers.

@@Evil_Vegan I get your point and agree with it in general, but in this particular case it‘s kind of misplaced, imo. Even their death is as happy as a death can possibly be AND it also has positive meaning for the main characters. Compared to the miserable life Bill survives into in the game, this is an absolute win for the gays. 🙂

@@LordLOC All we can do is focus on the supporters and ignore the haters who can't understand that everybody deserves to be loved no matter who they are
I hope this episode's touching portrayal of true love opens some people's hearts
Just wait till that black guy and his little brother story episode
Here's two things I liked which could be true:
A nod to Joel's pre apocalypse job, construction of some sort, with his knowledge of the galvanized steel fence.
A little symbolism/connection, Ellie finds the gun that Frank loaded that one night. Ellie is now the person Joel will protect like Bill protected Frank.
Oh dude it's been a year and I didn't even think about that second point! Awesome catch!
@@Anthony_Cika And actually, Frank also saved Bill that time, just as Ellie saves Joel with that gun...
Im actually glad we got this ending for the couple. And lets be honest no one would trust the governments during a zombie apocalypse

Totally gay tho....it could have been an amazing friendship story of a man alone and who has forgotten most of humanity but has his restored...it literally could have topped walking dead in 1 episode...but no that just have to inject gay anywhere they can....I just want good stories again with out all the sex stuff 😩
@@SurvivenTerry why don’t you stop injecting your straight everywhere
"And you were my purpose" just had me uncontrollably sobbing.
I don't cry at TV/Movies. But this broke me... I sobbed for, I don't know how long. Superbly acted, written and directed. Beautiful.
@@herpetolgyprodigy Ok conspiracy theorist. It’s fiction. It’s not real life. Calm down.
@@andiscott8470 Conspiracy theorist? What are you talking about? What is that even supposed to mean? I didn't like the episode and that makes me a conspiracy theorist? What's the correlation? And of course it's only fiction, so what? Doesn't mean I can't criticize the writing. I could say the same thing to you. You actually cried watching this episode? Why? It's only fiction, it's not real life.

Well, if you ask me, I'd say these two won the apocalypse. To be able to go out on your own terms, together with one you love, is a win in my book. Sad, but really romantic.😔
A show finally showed MEN in love. No caricatures or cliches, but the actual emotions of two men deeply in love.

And purely because your name is Ron, I read that in Nic Offerman's voice.
@@brendancaulfield970 I guess he cried three times in his life after this episode!
Same I didn’t expect to grow attached to bill and frank the way I did and when frank told bill his last request i lost it
My wife and I were just shattered by the end. We just sat there in silence for a while, crying. We still can't talk about the episode together without tearing up. On our most recent anniversary, I posted a message for her that I was going to love her for a long, long time.
"Just give the emmy to this show RIGHT NOW!!" - "Which one?" - "All of them..." *starts to sob and cry*
Show did 20 y time jump after early morning of 27th Sep. Bill's letter said 29th of Aug. Joel's comment of few weeks holds up
This might be the single greatest piece of television I’ve ever viewed. This hit me so hard

Cherry - "Exactly"
LMAO 💀💀💀
Ron Swanson if he lived through an apocalypse for reals 😄
Faxx😂😂
THATS WHAT IM SAYINNNNN 😂
Yeah! That was the perfect cast!
My brother was the one who told me this, during the scene where Frank is talking to Bill about his last day, he said that if the Apocalypse started when it did, then the bill for gay marriage would’ve never been passed. Making this scene even more sad then it already was
It wasn’t even decriminalized yet I don’t think.
Hats off!
It’s been over a month and watching this super cut still absolutely wrecked me. What an amazing piece of media.
This was such an emotional episode, especially since Ellie never got a chance to meet either Bill or Frank.💔😭
I assume killing them both off was to eliminate the possibility of Joel either leaving Ellie with them, unloading the task of transporting her off to them, or having to contrive a reason why they wouldn't also join the group in such an important venture.
@@Solkard maybe it was just because it was more sad that way 😂
@@Solkard I don’t think his character, how they would have portrayed them, would have done that.
I can’t with this show😭
The celiac transition was hilarious 😂
facts had me🤣
I absolutely love watching these reactions.
The letter from Bill to Joel when he tells him to use everything he has to protect Tess, they got me there and started crying.
The only other episode of television that’s ever hurt me this much was the finale of MASH. Absolutely legendary television.

Thanks for this. Watching the episode didn't make me tear up, but watching it with everyone like that did.

Been waiting for J2O's upload of ep 3. Thank you for the hard work. Less visible reactors featured in this mashup are getting a major bump.
One of the best episodes i saw real humanity at its core
Amen.
I was crying at the end of this episode, glad to see I wasn’t the only one.
That moment you realize Frank decided he was ready to die when he could no longer paint Bill.
Prefer it over the game as well.
only great gay couples in a show for me was this and doom patrol season 1

Pretty wild this show has absolutely gutted people emotionally so far and we haven't even seen the worst of what's to come in the feels department.
The last part in the window with the song is so perfect and really impectfull when we see bill and Frank love story'.
Love this episode, it depicts Bill’s freedom to do want he wants as a doomsday preppier but also allows him to finally express his sexuality freely. I’m glad that they adapted the game and gave us an absolute masterpiece of an episode.
Another great reactor compilation, Johnny! Fantastic episode of the show, too. I always enjoy seeing the featured reactors.

@@durchhalter read again, as I said I adore this. My problem is not this story in particular, but the industry as a whole.
Tell me, when was the last time you see Hollywood killing an out/canon lesbian?? HBO's been killing the gays from Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon (Laenor's going to die uneventfully), 2 seasons of White Lotus back to back, and now this?? And Bill's not dead in the game. Which, to bring back to my point of killing/terrible fate for the gays, actually had a darker story for him and Frank!
Let's be honest, the reason being ppl consider WLW victory as more palatable than MLM.. thx to the male gaze and the patriarchy. But as long as the strong lesbian made it, they're pro lgbt right??? gays made it till the end? nah... lesbians? FTW, cuz it's sexy.......
@@Evil_Vegan I get your point and agree with it in general, but in this particular case it‘s kind of misplaced, imo. We‘ve got to enjoy the blooming, growing, and ending of a gay relationship in the most beautiful and positive way possible, without sliding into romantic clichés, and for almost an entire episode. Even their death is as happy as a death can possibly be AND it also has positive meaning for the main characters. Compared to the miserable life Bill survives into in the game, this is an absolute win for the gays. 🙂

Oh man this episode gave me all the feels. It’s such a beautiful story and I respect the way they chose to die. They found love and peace together despite all the darkness around them. Amazing writing to make us care so much about these two in only one episode. I definitely cried at the end. These two seemingly opposite men built a life together and ended things on their terms.
