John Charles Wagner, 85, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on February 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Residence. John served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. After his military service, he enjoyed several decades of teaching computer programming skills around the world. John was a global citizen who served others with intelligence, humor and a gentle presence. He is survived by his wife Susan Newman, daughter Kate Wagner (Tim McGuire), son Mike Wagner (Laura), stepdaughter Barbara Godfrey (George Lyman), stepdaughter-in-law Dana Wagner, and grandchildren Emma, Magdalen, Michaela, Francis, Claire, Maureen, August, and Thomas. John was preceded in death by his father Albert Wagner, mother Delores Wagner, brother Paul Wagner, and stepson David Godfrey. John worshipped at Grace Episcopal Church in Minneapolis. A service to honor John's life was held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4557 Colfax Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419, on March 22, 2024, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
