Scammers have a complex way of receiving cash from their victims. I went undercover and sent one of these scammers something else - his face!
Regarding gift card warnings. I needed to buy $500 in GC for a legit work event. The system required a manager to come over and read me a series of questions such as "did someone on the internet request I buy these for them?" etc. I liked that. Could really save someone some trouble.
Same where I work as well. Once had a grandma come thru and buy $500 of apple gift cards for her granddaughter for her eduction (possibly for subscriptions in apps like goodnotes or grammarly)
They do that here at Lowe’s
What' sad is when I was a cashier I looked at the back of credit cards for any messages, and when I asked for an ID like the back of the card said most customers were shocked, "hardly any cashiers ask for my ID". This is how it all begins ....

@@Seed They don't open the package at home. They drive to some random place, open it, and then dump the package in some public garbage.
At least, that's what happened in the air tag video.

Former UPS store employee. A man mailed $10,000 cash. I did not find this out until a couple days later. When he came in and I asked him what he was shipping and he wouldn’t tell me. I suggested documents and he said yes, that was a Saturday. He came back Monday morning with a cop realizing he’d be scammed.
Feel so sorry for the people that get scammed but at the same time on what planet , and reality would you ever send a box of money to a reputable company I mean that’s just bazaar to me lol
@@SHOTTYTV actually, I got my dates wrong. He came in there Tuesday morning. Which is honestly very lucky for him. cuz like I said, he came back furious and when I told my boss that I was the one who did it and that I did indeed ask him what it was he wouldn’t tell me. I mean what can I really do when the customer refuses to tell me what they’re shipping. He’s honestly lucky got there when he did because Saturday drop offs at a UPS store are Xpress only and he came there right after the express pick up left. So the scammers could’ve got that first thing Monday and there wouldn’t have been nothing the cops or anybody could’ve done about it. So they were able to intercept the package and I think he got his money back.

I got a great idea for a collab video: pretend to be Mules for hire for the scammers, take the money from the victim, tell them whats going on and give back the money, that way they will start losing trust to their mules

Love your vids; but this one is a bit confusing as to who is who, their locations, and how you get your friend Cassy to iinfiltrate the scamming group. Might have been esaier to have done a 'John Cook/Du Rick' type of vid which would make it easier to understand and follow. Also don't understand why anyone in America would pay for a service from Amazon etc., in such a con-cocked way by hidding the money in a book and then posting it to what would be a totally questionable address or PO box! So many 'red flags' that surely anyone would pick up this is not legit but a scam!

Ben: The Community (Pierogi, etc. ) needs to focus on the corporate big box stores (Walmart, Target, Best Buy ) to change their warnings on the gift card displays, (THEY ARE SMALL) most people do not even know that it is there let alone big enough to be able to read the warnings.
Im from the uk and haven't seen any. But i did notice someone else in the comments say that when they bought loads of gift card the manager actually had to authorise it after checking the customer was happy etc
Honestly, I'd rather they get rid of the gift card displays and abandon gift cards entirely. Nobody likes receiving those, outside of scammers.
Hey, pleasant green nice video. Let me tell you about another scam they’re doing. I had to call Zelle and I googled the number and the number sent me to scammers. Thank God I had Aura on my phone and my iPad and it prevented them from doing anything before I realize that they were fraud so that’s another new scam they’re doing. Thanks for all you do and the all the call center has done. Love you guys.

Thank you so much… They’ve tricked my 90 year old grandmother a few times into giving her personal information, but thankfully she’s closely watched and we were able to catch it before money was lost.

1:06 "Keep your money safe" - that's rather vague for a warning. Legit card companies don't like you getting scammed but they do like people buying their cards. If I saw this 'warning' I'd probably ignore it. What it should say is "ARE YOU ABOUT TO SEND CARDS TO A STRANGER?!"

I don’t give these scammers my time of day I never use pay pal rarely buy stuff from Amazon. More you ignore these emails more than likely they’ll go away. Plus I’m a college student I’m to smart to fall for these scams.

Pleasant Green sometimes has bad idea videos that he soon apologizes for. I saw one where he inadvertently pushed a scam and got ragged and dragged for it. The video got buried literally and he apologized for it.
Sending the book of mormon to a scammer is like sending a scamming guide book.

I was in Walmart the other day and happened to pass a gift card kiosk. A young employee, was explaining to an elderly woman that it was a scam: moreover, she did not need to buy gift cards to pay taxes, or some such. He was making sure she understood she was being robbed, in a way. She was so relieved. I was so impressed as I listened to his kind, but caring explanation that we, went to the section manager and commended the young man. Told the manager that employee really went the distance. He should be congratulated for keeping an eye out for elderly shoppers who are about to get into trouble with scammers.
