I moved to High Point from Upstate NY 4 years ago. I like it here. It's not bad at all. Ppl are pretty friendly. The crime where I was in NY was higher. And as far as winters here, they are warm compared to NY.
Girl! Let me tell you something!.... You're Right! LOL, I'm a New Yorker born and raised and I've lived in High Point for 16 years now and yes, the crime is crazy and it was close to home here on the south end when the sheetz on main had to shut down because they were getting robbed A LOT! You forgot to mention how far apart everything is from finding a dentist to shopping for whatever, but also, there are lots of new businesses (mainly for cars) and a sub divisions coming up. The Art scene is growing (i.e. TAG at Cogdon Yard has art classes for the public but you have to pay for them), High Point Arts Council as things going on, the Theater downtown etc. yes they need more restaurants. This was an industrial town like many throughout the south from what i understand. Anyway I've been seeing license plates from as far as California to Florida and everyone in between so it has actually more pluses than cons but i'd say the biggest "con" is lack of nightlife but then, this is the south and everyone's in bed by 9. LOL 🤣😂👍
You are cracking me up! There isn't much nightlife in HP - but there is in GSO and WS! And I am in bed most nights by 9:00 😂 And I love and art class--- I"ll have to check out TAG. That sounds pretty awesome. People are moving here -- FL and CA are expensive and have way too many people!
I hate that people in the city are forced to use The City of High Point for lights and water, and the bills are astronomical!!!! They are ripping everyone off with electricity! I moved and my light bill was a third of what I was paying in High Point! I’m never going back!
ok.?/ what part of high point area shouldn't move? , we are thinking about moving to high point area or Greensburg area , please let me know what area is good for either high point or greensburg area , thank you
Great job on all your videos that you do! Would you say that the bubble is popping soon in the Triad area? Asking since with the recent interest rate hikes and I wasn't sure if it would be best to wait until 2023 to buy a house there?
Thank you so much! I wouldn't say the bubble is going to pop, but it is definitely shifting. The interest rates increasing has really changed the dynamics for buyers right now. Those that need to move are still going to move, but we don't have a crystal ball in terms of what the rates will do. They may come down in a year or two (Or they could go up). House prices will hold their value and appreciate. So even if you buy now, you're still going to have a house worth more when you sell it. I hope this helps - if you have more questions, please ask away! I'm here to help.
I grew up in High Point and as soon as I could I ran to Davidson County, also Furniture Market is nothing compared to be what it used to be it’s kinda sad. Just like every other industry across the nation there used to be tons of furniture manufacturing plants as well as hosiery mills but they are few and far between now. However on the good side of High Point it took a while but they are reviving the old buildings into all sorts of interesting and beautiful establishments which I sincerely appreciate being a local my entire life knowing what used to be there and seeing it waste away for years was sad but they are trying to save as many as they can it seems like. Also with High Point University the outside places they have built example the children’s center which is awesome by the way and High Point getting a awesome ball field too I do feel they are trying to turn it around and that is always a beautiful thing!
I will be moving to High Point in the summer. What sections would be the bad east part with the higher crime? Also are the other parts, west north south safer?
High Point will have the Rockers playing baseball - a great time to move here! Check out crimemapping.org There is crime everywhere, in every city - but you'll see where the higher crime places are. Stay where you feel comfortable.
@@BlankFaceAma I had the same problem - make sure the filter is set up for more than a couple of days - say a month or for the year. It will pop up then when the filters are set correctly.

Hold up the east side of town I'm from High Point I've been here 40 years I'm not really sure what the hell she's talking about I know we got a bunch of homeless people thirsty is buying up every damn thing and then don't want to fix the the projects that they've got still left like you know Juanita Hills JC Morgan Sheraton Towers
On the map it says there is “crime” but there is crime in every city everywhere in the US. I’m sorry the homeless is drinking everything up. That seems tragic.
It all depends on the type of work/job you want to do. There. A lot of companies at 68 and 40 for an office job. High point has a lot of furniture manufacturers if you are looking for that type of job. Thomasbuilt buses is also in high point!
Okay she also didn't tell you that there are slumlords here if your rent is 450 they want you to make three times that in one week times people don't make more than that and then if you do rent from somebody spell sneak into your lease the roaches and ants rats are your responsibility not the landlords if you get them and they have wolf size rats biggest spiders
Agree and disagree because the rate they are tearing them down to build all those cookie cutter neighborhoods I feel like my oxygen getting robbed from me daily lol
