Charlie died April 2017. What a lovely family. Those two girls are so lucky that they got to spend more time with their father, rather than him spending it in and out of hospitals receiving treatment that may have extended his life a bit, with more treatments. RIP Charlie. Your legacy is the love you left behind,. Now your daughters will continue living that legacy.
Beautiful gentleman and wonderful family man . May his lovely daughters always remember that night. Wish i had one last dance with my husband ,we were married only 11 years when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer .
My second husband died of lung cancer in 2012. A week before he died was the father daughter dance. He went to the father daughter dance with his 14 year old twins one week before he died. I took them and bought dresses, got hair, nails and make up done. So glad I did. Have a great picture someone took of one of the girls dancing with him at the dance. Makes my heart melt every time I think about it. God Bless this family. My husband also stopped treatment - 3 weeks in and he was sicker than ever. At stage 4, he made the same decision to pick quality over quantity. Also took a vacation to the Keys for a week, just him and I, and then a vacation to Daytona Beach with the kids (his and mine) for a week. Memories that can never be taken from us.
My DH died almost 17 yrs ago. Our only daughter was married 2 yrs prior to her dad's untimely death. She was really nasty to her father the day she married. Prior to the wedding day she was discussing songs for the Father/Daughter dance. My DH asked her not to choose one of the selections she had on her list called "Daddy's Hands". He never liked the song, in part because he never slapped or spanked our daughter, not once ever. He made the suggestion of "Butterfly Kisses" (which a lot of brides choose for their daddy/daughter dance). Well, the day of the wedding came and when it came time for their dance, our daughter came up to her dad and said "You aren't allowed an opinion as to what goes on at my wedding. There will NOT be a Father/Daughter dance." With that she turned and walked away. I'd never seen my DH more devastated in my life. 5 days prior to the wedding, I had surgery.(I actually got permission to go home for 6 hours for the wedding) So when I seen that my DH couldn't keep it together, I told our family that I wasn't feeling great and needed to get back to the hospital. There was no way I was going continue to be there while our daughter did what she did to her dad. Of course she didn't know that within 18 months, her dad would suddenly die. I hope she thinks about the way she treated her dad that day.....
I have been diagnosed with early dementia and I have a son who is 18 and twin girls soon to be 13...And it kills me to know I won’t live long enough to watch them grow up.
I lost my dad when I was 16. He never got to see me in my prom dress, walk me down the aisle, the father / daughter dance, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. I miss him every day. I hope these girls remember this for the rest of their lives. What a wonderful memory
@@nunyabiznez6381 Sorry for your loss. My uncle is the one that taught me to drive. He is my dad's brother. He stepped up to do the things that my dad would have done had he lived. He may be gone, but you will never forget him. He will always be in your heart ❤.
@@debbiepearce5681 My uncles all lived in other states. The one closest to my Dad said "Well you're the man of the house now. So that means you got to quit school and go get a job to support your mom and four younger siblings. Good luck and have a nice life see ya." My mom's siblings weren't much help, they were all women and didn't drive and their attitude was that it was my mom's fault that she didn't choose to marry a wealthy man.
@@nunyabiznez6381 Sorry to hear that. I hope you turned out to be a decent caring young man. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do anything. You can do or be whatever you want just as long as you believe in yourself
My dad at 90 (years young) treated our entire family to a cruise to celebrate his and our Moms 66th wedding anniversary, his one wish was to dance with each of his daughters ( there are 3 of us) at one of the evening dances on the ship. The night we celebrated their anniversary we were able to do that. It was a special time for all four of us. My dad has since passed away, but I will always remember how happy he was to dance with each of us several times. We have pictures and memories of that wonderful night.
My mom is expected to pass before I graduate from high school. She had a stroke and had major problems from a surgery that failed. I hope that she can stay happy and have good memories before she goes.
I will never understand why God takes those that are so great and wonderful that u can see so deserve to stay right where they are... My heart goes out to you all..
My Dad died at the age of 44. We didn't get much warning. It was completely unexpected. I was the oldest. The youngest were 6. Five of us kids altogether. In those days children weren't cut any slack for grieving. The funeral was on a Friday and when I returned to school on Monday I found out I had been marked down as an unexcused absence. Since Friday was when I was scheduled for my English final I missed my final. The English department had a strict no excuse/zero tolerance policy for finals so I failed English and had to retake my sophomore year. When I returned to school for the first day of my second sophomore year I found out that since I had an unexcused absence that day I had a week of detention waiting for me at the other end of summer. RIP DOB 1932-1976
i had to stop at 03:37 because the whole thing was getting to me. tears were getting ready to roll down my cheeks. that was really the sweetest thing and the saddest.
I lost my dad when I was 3 he never got to do a father daughter dance never got to watch us turn into beautiful women never got to watch us graduate high school or be there for the birth of his grand children and great grandchildren and never got to walk us down the aisle my dad died in a car accident when he was 32 it took years to heal I still sometimes wonder how things would be today if he was still alive. The day he left work was seared into my memory
I do wish my dad came to my father daughter dances instead of leaving me to sit in the corner alone, because my did didn’t come. So glad these girls got one last dance
Poor family, it must be really hard to know that one of your family members is dying 😭 May they all find peaceful moments in life and have a peaceful afterlife ❤
why do so many shitty violent parents get to abuse their children while a dude like that has to die? I can't anymore. it's too much for me I'm gonna have a stroke by broken heart 😟

Some people have a bad day but at least be grateful to have a day because most babies once they come out, sometimes they die! You might not have a tomorrow or a night. You could die in you sleep. You could even die and no one would know if you lived alone. Be thankful of the ONES AROUND YOU! They could even die too! SO be thankful, grateful, and faithful.
You never know when you will cross over into Heaven. I hope that these daughters as well as Charlie’s spouse will remember all of the good times that they shared. This is a horrible disease to have, and I hope that one day they will find a cure. I truly believe that Charlie put up the biggest fight. Even though you do not see him, he sees you from Heaven. He will be smiling down from Heaven when you graduate from high school, college, get married or have a baby. I lost my father that I was extremely close to. It was hard to say “Goodbye,” but I know that he is looking down from Heaven, and he is telling me that it is ok to cry, yell, scream, etc. I still go to the cemetery to see him and place flowers at his grave. Sometimes, I just sit there or tell him what I have been up to, I sing to him, read to him, etc. Some people may think that it is crazy, but I like to remember all of the great times that we shared. I know that when I go to Heaven, I will see him again and what a wonderful reunion it will be. May the Lord Bless and Keep You and May the Lord Lift His Countenance Upon You and Give You Peace.
