I 100% agree wanted my hallway In my small apartment to feel very moody so I opted for a green dark ivy color almost emerald but a little darker. I painted a huge wall arch and a circle with it and I out wall shelves inside the circle needless to say I'm absolutly in love ! I've just finished my living room and decided to go all neutral and beige and cream with rattan and wicker pieces but I am already feeling that its very bland so I've mixed up my own mint green its a very vibrant mint to go on the wall were the sofa will be ;) i will just add the same color cushions and get a new rug to give it a refresh and whole new look 😀 .
Finally GREENS I personally LOVE GREEN and am having trouble finding a new green for my bedroom, but I plan on checking out several from this video. I liked . Guilford green and Budding green.
Thrilled to see Bunker Hill green on this list!! I painted my teen son's room with this color last August and we LOOOOOOOVE it! I actually used the example photo you shared as my inspiration. It's a bold color but it's not TOO much. It's so excellent and I'm thrilled you gave it some attention.
Hey, James, great series. You missed the chance for a history lesson. Salamander is durn close to what we old Southerners know as Charleston Green. Yup, as in South Carolina. And the best front door color ever. Enjoy.
Yessss! 💓 Just finished painting our informal living room Essex Green -- I'm talking ceilings, trim, walls-- EVERYTHING! Thankfully we have large south facing windows but even still it creates such a great cocktail lounge mood that's almost black at night but a beautiful dynamic green during the daytime 👌
I loved them all. I inherited the home I grew up in and my mother loved green so much practically the whole house is a sage green. Living room, dining room, and kitchen. At first I was going to repaint but actually the color is calming and surprisingly neutral. Since the paint is in great shape I'm going with it. If I had to choose I guess my two favorites in the video are budding green and salamander. Love these videos.
Thanks to your videos, I used Guilford Green as the trim color and Butter Pecan for the walls in a south facing kitchen. The combination is warm and welcoming while it is fresh and clean looking. I love Benjamin Moore paints!
@@thepaintpeople Please can you help me? xxxx. I love green and want to make my small living room into a cozy den to watch tv in. Which tone of green would be good in a small living room. When I went to Ikea they had a deep burgundy room with a tv in in and a dark sofa, and I loved it, as very cozy, but I prefer green to red but still want that cozy dark feeling. My adult autistic son really struggles mentally and was a missing person for 5 years, and I know that green is very calming. I want to make a room that he will love to sit in and watch films with me,. Can you help me. I live in the UK and cannot only get paints from B and Q and Dulux. Thankyou xx
THANK YOU I loveeee green and the vibes it gives off. It makes me feel so calm and at peace as if I was in the middle of nature. I just bought a house that needs some updating and I will be using greens all throughout. Also Kennebunkport is a popular beach town in Maine that I grew up vacationing at so that name is super appealing to me!
DELICIOUS set of greens! Well done! My favorites are the olive tones and the near blacks. Love the saturated tones. So profound! I never shy away from green. So warm and balanced between warm and cool. I have a bright apple green in my kitchen. Go Packers!
Who’d a thunk I would be so excited to see videos about paint?!? You make it a joy and greens are my favorite even though my walls are khaki and gray. (Originally khaki) Always struggle choosing colors. Could you do options for front doors and things to consider? Great job on making paint interesting and fun!
I painted most of my interior with combinations of Behr Farm Fresh, Morning Tea and ceiling and trim in Silky Bamboo. I just love the combination which feels both soothing and cozy.
Hi James.🍃 I love Kennebunk , Chemmichurrie , Army and Salamander but the other greens are gorgeous too reminds me of luxurious foliage woods and rain - drenched forests🌴🌱🌷🌳🌿 with sunny spells and red , brown and gold birds 🦢🦉🦜🦆🌿⚘🍂 🌞🎄❣💚🤎💚 Thank you so much 👍💚👍💚
Salamander, chimichurri and army green. I think any of those would make a grand choice for an exterior door or 1/2 bath color. I’ve always had a thing for green.
You've inspired me to opt for a color like Salamander. It's absolutely beautiful and I would love to add it as an accent color with an ivory base for my exterior paint
Hands down BM Salamander is my top go-to dark green color which I will be painting all inside doors in my home. I think it will complement my BM Revere Pewter, BM Edgecomb, BM Classic Gray & BM Grey Cashmere color scheme perfectly. Great episode James!
Our open space entryway/living room/dining room is an old SW Martha Stewart color very, very close to Antique Jade-maybe just a little lighter and a speck cooler. (Edited: I found the old can. It’s name is Milk Pail 8055. It’s been over 15 years, wonder if it’s still even good....) Still love it, gets tons of compliments. Looks great with both crisp white or very slightly softer white trim, our terracotta brick fireplace, and medium-dark wood furniture. One of my best paint choices ever, would totally do it again.
In the past I have used Fernwood Green 2145-40 and found it to be a very versatile green, but I have been feeling the need for a freshening up. I will have to check out these greens you mentioned. I am really happy to have found your helpful and informative videos.
Great video! We just painted our office alligator alley and we love it. Thanks for doing another video focused on colour. We are debating a mustard yellow room, and would love to see more colourful videos!
I love the color Tranquility. It’s a green/ gray and it’s gorgeous. Green is my favorite color and tranquility is a soft color. I just painted my south facing laundry room and north facing bedroom Tranquility and I love it.
Thanks so much for all of these videos. Your product knowledge is exceptional! (I really appreciate that you take the time to advise as to how these paints react to various lighting sources. That’s incredibly helpful!) I’m already daydreaming of a high gloss Salamander in my low-light North-facing office - high drama in a small space. Thanks again!
Loved this video as I'm scoping out a green for my home office space and gym area. And - being from Maine originally - I had to chuckle at the Kennebunkport moment. It's a mouth-full! Thanks for your great videos! :-)
Misted Green and Silver Marlin (in our application it looks like a lighter version of Misted Green) - We used the first in our entryway which gets tons of light and the second in our bedroom. Love them both.
Helen K Hi Helen, I think for a front door it would be awesome. It close to the Green black that the Georgians used for front doors and anything Georgian is super cool - well I think some anyway. Good luck with you doors.
I painted 90% of a small 600 sq ft condo in CC-640 Blue Grass because I wanted a robins egg blue and the store rep recommended it- it was ALMOST perfect (it looks nothing like the paintchip!) but it vibrated slightly green all day in the bright sun bbut photographed as light teal and was acented easily with teal and aquamarine accent items and it gave me colour fatigue. I wish I had gone with Palladian Blue instead but I never could give up the Blue Grass! It drove me crazy but I loved it so much as well!
Tend to prefer neutrals - so BM Southern Vine is my favorite dark green. Love how it looks with natural woods, copper and black hardware, amber glass, rusty brown reds, terracotta and golds. BUT I’m stuck! Having trouble deciding on an off white for mostly north facing walls in a new built and a warm white trim color. I think I’d like a light warm taupe, but not sure which undertones will work best. Would appreciate any and all suggestions. 🙏🏻
What a great job you do..........so informative! I always look forward to a new episode. I am presently trying to decide a neutral color for my entire home. It's a small home so I think one color would be the best way to go. I don't like red, orange, yellow or purply undertones. Antique jade and guilford green look so calming to me (not for the entire house.) Maybe a bedroom and bathroom. I am buying an oatmeal color sofa so I would like the living room/dining areas to be neutral. My kitchen has those awful builder grade orangey oak cabinets. I am not sure if it was one of your episodes but a green was shown. I did try to find the episode. I always have a terrible time picking out paint but I know that I am not alone. So that's why I am grateful for your channel and expertise!! Thank you!
I wish to have seen Mountain Moss. Your channel has been very helpful to me! Thanks so much James and please keep singing! I'm trying to decide between Mountain Moss and Chimichurri for my kitchen cabinets. My walls are Natural Linen and I have a few black accent walls.
Linda! This is tough because these are both great colors and both will look great, so it's up to you, but I'll have to go Chimichurri only because it's what I have in my place lol.
Nice video! I plan on using salamander green for the exterior of my home, I think it will pair nice with our copper roof. Just have to figure out the trim and flashing color or stain that fits.
I wish there was a "barely there green" that could work just like a light gray or off white as a background color that's so light, you don't know it's green until you see it against a white trim. I think that would be beautiful. I think a good shade of green feels fresh and light and makes you happy to be there.
I am considering the Kennebunkport green for my exterior. But trying to decide which white would go with it for the trim. I am thinking an off white kind of shade.
Hi James, thank you for this video. I love the salamander and Chimichurri green. Just wondering if I should paint the Buffet table with Salamander, would it look good with the white kitchen cabinets? We have an open concept Living, dining and kitchen . Do you think it would go well? I like that it will add some accent colour especially with the bronze hardware. I just want to know your thoughts on this.
Hi James or paint people, I just came back to watch this video again because I'm thinking of an army green grey for my bedroom with white painted wooden trim around base and windows. I think guildford green might work, but I was also thinking something darker for the bedroom...any suggestions? I'm not sure if I want to go in a minty sage direction or browner tone, but I like the idea of a masculine green/grey. It's currently a chamois leather brown color for 18+ years and time for change! The front room has been shark grey for years with my honey brown wood trim which I love. but this is why I didn't want to just use grey again for my room. cheers for any response. keep up the great work on these videos! :)
What do you think about Green Chroma key green in front of me when working at home ? Is it good idea? Does it make me more calm and focus ? or make me sick ? (Like yellow)
Thanks for the video. What are your thoughts on Cushing Green by Benjamin Moore for Master bedroom with windows facing south and west mainly as an accent wall. Also Crystalline, Sage Tint, Nob Hill Sage, Icy Morn? I really want a Sage paint color that is soothing and not too dark and Healing Aloe just does not speak to me.
Love all these greens. I've moved into a house with an accent colour of Ashwood Moss (bm1484) with an LRV of 9.4. It's really great but I want a better offwhite wall colour. Simply White or Cotton Balls would both be good?
So refreshing to watch a paint video that is about a something other than gray! I personally love the color green.
What's a great green for a bedroom
I 100% agree wanted my hallway In my small apartment to feel very moody so I opted for a green dark ivy color almost emerald but a little darker. Green is so calming. It's the color of living plants and summer.
Finally GREENS I personally LOVE GREEN and am having trouble finding a new green for my bedroom, but I plan on checking out several from this video. I liked . Guilford green and Budding green.
That “Budding Green” is so pretty! It would look so pretty to use both!

Dark green with a touch of aqua in semi-gloss, has made my little kitchen lower cabinets look amazing.
We used Green Bay for our accent wall in our living room. It's a stunner!

I am someone who does not like green. Yet, I've bought green paint and looking at more.
I had our living room painted in SW6394 Sequin. It looks yellow on my computer monitor, but in real life it’s a greenish yellow. We love it!
Salamander green is lovely. Would look great as a shiny garden shed door.

Sounds like you're looking for a greeneige, my favorite class of colours lately. I want to do a video on them soon.
i'll vote green bay because i'm a bit of a neovictorian type, and salamander as beautiful as it is seems redundant as i use so much black
Went with backwoods for our study/music room.
I am considering the Kennebunkport green for my exterior. But trying to decide which white would go with it for the trim. I am thinking an off white kind of shade.
I’m wondering about Highlands Green, BM. I’m using it to paint a room. But it seems to not be a popular choice.
Salamander is gorgeous.
I thought u met Salmon 😂 duh
Salamander, hands down. Brass, white accents.
Carolina Gull...thoughts?
Hi James, thank you for this video. I love the salamander and Chimichurri green. Just wondering if I should paint the Buffet table with Salamander, would it look good with the white kitchen cabinets? We have an open concept Living, dining and kitchen . Do you think it would go well? I like that it will add some accent colour especially with the bronze hardware. I just want to know your thoughts on this.
I realize this video was a while ago, but was wondering if you could do a video on Azores by Benjamin Moore.
Are teals still popular? I tend to lean toward the blue-greens.
OMG THIS IS AMAZING. I learned so much!!! I have dark wood parquet, which shades of these greens would you recommend? Planning to repaint my bedroom 😊
I like Gray Wisp from Benjamin Moore.
Are there any light green colors, like a spring green or a fresh green... would like to paint my south -facing living room
OM Gosh, that Salamander!
Right Lori? Love it!
Loveee chimmichurri. I want to paint our laundry room green but it has no windows so I don’t think I can paint the whole room that color (sadly)
I would consider using Antique Jade in a bedroom or bathroom.
I love green. Which benjamin moore green would you recommend for a front door on a red brick house?
What do you think about Green Chroma key green in front of me when working at home ? Is it good idea? Does it make me more calm and focus ? or make me sick ? (Like yellow)
The last two🥳
Thanks for the video. What are your thoughts on Cushing Green by Benjamin Moore for Master bedroom with windows facing south and west mainly as an accent wall.
