You're really good at this palette stuff!! Great job! 🎉
Soft fern is what we painted the remodeled master bath in. We did the vanity in “grandmas linen. “ i wish I knew how to get pics to you, it looks great. We are moving onto the guest bath, we are going with greys, yes I know grey is out , but bathroom is small, using a dark grey fir the vanity and a lighter grey on the walls. I can’t mix all those colors, I’m OCD. Lol tile will be grey, accessories will be black. Thanks for your advice.
Sounds good to me!
I used it several years ago on the lower part of a chair rail to go with a botanical wallpaper above. And then I put a large thin wool rug of a very similar color to carry the green. It really brightened up the room. There were many greens I looked at but this one matched the wallpaper best. Wish I had your ideas for pairing back then. ❤🥰🤗
I think you just solved my colour dilemma, James. I was wondering about a black to go with soft fern for my bedroom and I have sonnet picked out for my bathroom - so blacktop it is! Thanks!
If I hadn’t just painted my walls Rose Dust, I would most likely have gone with Soft Fern. What a gorgeous, soothing colour!
James, could you go back to “ringing” the paired colours in the main colour again? It’s easier to visualize the combinations.
I just did Soft Fern as an accent color to November Rain and love the combo! Really brought out the green undertone in November Rain.
That sounds beautiful
I toyed with colours like Ice Cap, I wanted a blue-green with no hint of the olives in some of the popular greens. The colour I chose is more a pale apple green, a bit lighter than Soft Fern and no grey/beige undertone, probably more solidly a colour. Went warmer because I'm north facing. My furniture is all neutral - wood, beige, and ecru.
Please do more greens! Maybe some warm greens light, mid and dark. I’m planning warm green kitchen cabinets for our remodel possibly mid tone to light olive or sage. I’m considering a dark olive for our exterior with black windows.
Had BM soft fern in my living room & hallway for years & loved the colour.
Moved & renovated, went with BM dry sage 2142-40 & mirage gray 2142-50. Similar but was just never the same.
Did you repaint in soft fern?
Go Benjamin Moore
I have soft fern in my kitchen sun room combo. I love it.
My test for green, inside or out, is that it looks good with plants. Soft Fern is perfect!
I love ice cap! Although I'm not a fan of green, I do like the soft green color it's a beautiful shade.
Love this color!
I love the videos and your sister is great 👍
sonnet looks great w/ black
Great colors, love them together! ❤
Love green.
This palette is 🔥💚
I really like soft fern! I still haven’t chosen a bathroom color.
I love greeneige!
We painted our living room with white dove🙌
I am of an age where I remember us calling that kind of color "hospital green" or even "asylum green". Eeek. Back in the 1950's-1960's It was considered soothing to the dying or to the agitated mentally ill. However, after watching your entire video, I am willing to forgive & forget its One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest history and consider it, especially paired with that terracotta and nearly-black green trim.
I just had my kitchen cabinets painted, Soft Fern was in the running, but lost to October Mist. I wish I had High Park in the running as I think it's an even better green.
James, could you review Ciao Bella? I think I may want to replace First Light with it.
I wish i saw this before I went with Misted Fern which is a bit too dark. This is purdy!
Thanks for a green suggestion. I’m trying to get a color palette together and use a nice green. Does this green play nice with golden pine tongue n groove?
Tested 3, 50 range lrv exterior and it looked like off-white
Would Soft Fern work in a sunroom or is the color too light? The room does not get direct sunlight but because of all the glass is quite bright. The adjoining LR/DR which is open to the sunroom is painted SW Natural Choice. Thank you!
Cappuccino looks like it would work as a main living room wall color in a dark, north facing room.
do you recommend for a east, slightly southeast kitchen? looking for a sage for smaller 140 sq ft kitchen cabinets.
🩷black top!! yasss
I'm considering this for my basement. No natural light down there, but does have good overhead light as well as there will be other forms of light in the space. I don't want to use a white or light beige as the rest of my open is very open so I'll need to go with a true neutral up there. Green is my favorite color so I am not at all afraid of green and I feel like it make feel like bringing some nature into my below ground basement. Any thoughts?
beautiful ,looks lil compatible to pigeon
James! You did’n show them together!
lov it lov it
What can you do if you would like the 1st two slightly
Iighter?
Can I color match soft fern with Hawthorne yellow
Could I use this in a basement that only has glass block windows for light?
ice cap is Ggreat
Do you think Soft Fern would work as an exterior color?
Hi! James may reply, but the main thing is that any color will look much lighter outside where you have a lot of ambient light. Generally for exterior paint some of the popular exterior greens by BM have a lower LRV like Louisberg green at 33.79. It also depends on where you live -if you lived in a very sunny and bright climate, then you would go a little darker , and if you were in a climate with grey skies most of the time, then the lighter LRV of Saybrook sage is nice at 45. ...I personally think soft fern is a bit light for exterior, but could be nice -just know its going to look lighter outside.
Hey.... Guess what EVIAN water spells backwards.... 😂 Ugh ugh ugh

Love this colour!
