You know I've been trying to do this, and part of me is sad I couldn't finish in time to beat some people; and the other part is relieved that I have a framework in regards to the vacuum forming. Thank you.
Played Reach with my dad a long time ago and Emile was my favorite then. He still is now and this helmet looks awesome!
Got inspired to Get a 3d printer from Watchinkg Frank's channel and yours! Specially for Star Wars! I don't have the skills to paint or sand down really but my Father in law loves this stuff! So I'll probably ask help from him! It's super inspiring seeing your channel fork like 5 years ago trying to find what works to see where it is now where you are making a fantastic marketing for it! you might consider using some panel liner on the visor to make the different panels pop, it kind of all blends together at the moment.... up to you though

how did you make the buck
Don’t quote me on this, but I’ve seen it in other videos. One common method is to 3D print it, then make sure it’s absolutely 100% smooth, then make a mold/cast of it. Normally the mold/cast is very flaccid though, so I’m unsure as to what keeps it rigid in this case.

Just a thought, maybe use compressed air and try and spray it in between the two parts on the visor mold. This might help with pulling the two pieces apart. Ive done this before on similar things and it worked pretty well. Cheers.

Have you guys tried to shoot some compressed air in between the mold and the visor to get them apart?
Maybe try a blast of air from an air compressor between the mold and the plastic to better release them

I’ve been wondering if you can apply a reflective window tint to a round visor like the EVA helmets.
Could it be heated and vacuum formed over it? Never used the stuff but it seems like something that would work

How much did you have to thin down the 2k clear to get it to spray with an airbrush?
None at all, we use a HVLP gun and a 2K mix that is designed to be sprayed using this method!

Just came across this video while looking for guidance on some different print projects I'm looking into, but I was wondering why you don't hydro chrome all your reflective visors if it is so durable? I was looking into the Master Chief Halo Infinite armor & helmet prints, but was probably going to order the visor and noticed that it says it is chrome painted on the inside and is very delicate. Is just cheaper and less time consuming to chrome paint the tinted halo visors or is this just something your phasing into still and haven't applied it on a wider scale yet?

Just use an air comp to.release the visor molds guys? With a trigger and fime nozzle come.right off.
We have tried that many times. It won't work because there was a 90o angle around the rim of the visor that the plastic latches onto. It's now been fixed on our current mold!

With every kill, Emile scratches his helmet with his knife. He must have killed hundreds to carve that skull.
So does he keep count and only limit himself to each kill. Thats stupid. Seems like he would just scratch in the skull. Or do tickmarks on the not visor. That lore sucks.

I feel like he probably just tells people that but really scratched the skull in all at once. It would be wierd to just randomly start carving up your visor.
@@nak3dxsnake It's not weird for Emile’s character: he's a psychopath. The game pretty much tells you that the first time you meet him. It's in character for him.
