I loved your videos and all your dedication to studying behaviors and archiving information! I'm a South American newbie and I love weird crustaceans, I've managed to raise them just right now and I'm concerned with keeping the generations going. Thanks for your videos! Please tell me what is the age of sexual maturity of T. longicaudatus?
Thank you for considering a full tank setup. It will be worth it, and the Triops will show gratitude by their size and amount of eggs they will lay for you :)
Did any hybridization occur ? I know some use parthinogenesis and some are hermaphrodites. Depending on the species but do hybrids occur ? Because I’ve heard cases with eggs that grow into infertile hybrids.
I know your native language is not english, but "he'' does not lay eggs, " she" lays eggs :) I am learning alot from your vids, and i love your scientific aproache :)
Hahah, that's a good one. Thanks for the notice, I get often lost in Translating... Fun thing is, they are Hermaphrodites so they have Male/Female props, but the body is a Female... I still call them boys, guys etc....so that's where it gets mixed up 🤣
Yeah I considered that aswell, thing is: They still dig in this substrate and still lay their eggs in it aswell, for that reason im still using this substrate. I also feature a video where I show how to harvest with a certain method designed for this substrate. That method simply doesn't work as effective with sandy substrates
@@TriassicParkTriops I had triops 9 times already but only on the 8th and 9th time it worked , and I think its because I used a heat mat under the tank on the 8th and 8th time.
They have to be removed and dried out to simulate the drying up of lakes, or they’ll never hatch, after being dried just put them back into water and they should hatch
I have something to say , I think I made a huge mistake because I dumped the whole packet of eggs in my mini tank and by the second day I saw and more than 30 tiny grains of sand jumping around , and also sleeping near the light shining on them and I wondered if I had to pour the whole packet.
You should have tried 50% of the packet first maybe. Triops need 1-4L per adult Triop usually, please dont kill them, they can adapt to the size sometimes
@@TriassicParkTriops I have one more thing to say , what should I feed the New born baby triops , should I give them beta fish pellets , carrots or nothing ??.?
Yeah excuse me, after A while I started to mix up he and she, Triops are mainly Hermaphrodite with a female body usually. They fertilize their own eggs instead of mating with a Triops that has a male body, like with Gonochoric Triops. 🙏
This species is hermaphrodite to be honest, I'm just always mixed up about: how to call them...🤣 The body type is a female "egg-laying" body-type however, so "she" and "her" would fit better. Excuse me for the confusion😉🤫
We all need to breed the largest ones out of every group and create shark sized trip shramps
Getting back into the triops. They creep me out but they're pretty cool
I appreciate the finger being near the triops. It shows the scale of what size the little fellows are.
Good point !
This is gonna be my daughters next gift! Love your videos.
It's 2021 & I'm still fascinated by Triops
Thanks for the awesome video. Great set-up too.
Thank you!!

Heyo thank you for watching the videos! Triops Longicaudatus can reach maternity as early as 12-14 days!
They are out of this world! Wow 😃I love there little legs
Your video takes me to another world.
They’re so amazing. Mine never got passed a month, so I’m going to do a full tank setup this time.

These guys are so amazing! I've never seen them before. After they lay eggs, do you have to relocate then, or do the eggs just hatch in the tank?
the eggs will need removing, drying out and then soaking in the water again. This mimicking lakes/ponds drying out. :)
its kabutopss from pokemon
What kind of triops are these? 😊
Will be interresting to know which way is north

What # of gallon size tank is that/ best to raise TRIOPS?
Hmm the black colour is great for finding the pale eggs, but I would have got more sandy substrate for them to dig maybe easier.
Yeah I considered that aswell, thing is:

What do you do with the eggs? How do you get them out?
@Internet person you have to dry them out first
I'd like to know that also, it seems like any kind of scooping action with that gravel would crush them
Are these triops longicaudatus or triops granius?
Longicaudatus
Can the eggs hatch in the aquarium? Or should you remove them??
They have to be removed and dried out to simulate the drying up of lakes, or they’ll never hatch, after being dried just put them back into water and they should hatch
hello, can I buy some eggs from you I live in Canada can you ship them here please??
Heyo Ethan, I answered another comment of yours today with the info you need. 🙏 (triassicparktriops@gmail.com)

You have a UA-cam channel too?
Yes I do!
How long do they live?
60-140 days maximum depending on the species and conditions 🙏

Do the Triop eggs hatch?
Yes Triops eggs need specific environmental requirements to Hatch
“This guy is about to lay eggs.” Let’s have a quick discussion about biology.
Well they can reproduce asexually..
It's 2023 the mistake he made was a summing it's gender.
I mean... These triops are hermaphrodites, they aren't female or male.
Those are weird but cool
hey love ur videos, but im a little bit confused, but u saying he, over and over again, i just thought only female, could lay eggs?
Yeah excuse me, after A while I started to mix up he and she, Triops are mainly Hermaphrodite with a female body usually. They fertilize their own eggs instead of mating with a Triops that has a male body, like with Gonochoric Triops. 🙏
Why are saying he release egg
huh, I thought they couldn't lay eggs in gravel that big, seems like they tried anyways!
They can dig in this gravel pretty fine, the size has to do with the extraction method that i use to get to pure eggs.
such strange creatures, i love them! they look like aliens
There's something wrong with that fucking Wimpod.
*his eggs* wut?
A lot of "He" and "He'll".... So this "guy" is laying eggs... Does that mean males can lay eggs?
