It is def the most compelling of the three. Not really hard to beat Eps 1 and 2 though lol. The writing and direction for all 3 movies was pretty awful. The actors are what made this movie bearable. Ewan was amazing as Obi Wan though and even though Hayden gets a lot of crap I think he did pretty good considering what he had to work with and of course Mcdiarmid was spot on as Palpatine.
@@rgoodwynprequels extended so much the depth of the saga tho, the universe, the arc of Anakin, and brought some of the best themes, and the best fights Star wars wouldn't be star wars without the prequels We can't say the same for the sequels that literally brought 0 to the saga, even worst it destoyed the original message
@@k4dow I respectfully disagree. I would say the prequels took away some of the emotional core of the original trilogy. Vader's sacrifice to save his own son does not really redeem him knowing he murdered many children just to "save" his wife that he then tried to murder. Just to name one big example. Part of what makes them so frustrating to me is that the themes and potential were there but most of them are just so bland and boring in execution. It ironic that people seem to hate the sequels so much and ignore the good stuff in them. Which is exactly what so many did when the prequels came out. I have issues with Eps 7,8 and 9 (especially 9 lol) but I still liked the first 2 overall.
'He tried so hard to not let that happen, but it happened because he was trying so hard' That was actually quite profound. Appropriate that you wore black for this. It's a tragic story watching that kid with a heart of gold fall so far.
Anakin actually did feel remorse for all of his actions including what he had done to the Tuskens. The first time (Tuskens) Anakin’s overwhelming grief turned into blind rage. As he told Padme “I know I’m better than this “, he lost control and he regretted it deeply ever since.
@@Frostbyte23x Exactly, Anakin truly felt remorseful for his actions, he also shed tears because he knew that he had fallen so far from where he started. As a boy Anakin dreamt of all the good that he would do when he became a Jedi, and how he would see all the stars in the galaxy. Sadly his dreams had turned into a nightmare 😢, and he discovered that the Jedi order wasn’t what he had hoped it would be. The Jedi were more interested in preserving the status quo and serving corrupt senators than in following the force and helping others.

Yes, Vader, at this time, believes Luke and Leia died with Padme. Her being a Galactic senator her Funeral was big news so, Bail Organa, the man who took Leia in, orchestrated the plan to put a fake belly on Padme's body at the funeral to imply that she was still pregnant when she died and the children went with her. Thus, freeing Luke and Leia of any suspicion from the Empire.
Theres no need to do a fake belly, Padme died seconds after giving birth and as it takes a few days for women's hormones to return their belly to normal size Padme wouldnt have had that due to being dead
Ian Mcdiarmid should have received an Oscar for his portrayal of Darth Sideous in this movie. This trilogy was awesome. The tragedy is very well written. Many people criticise the politics and the cheesyness, but it is actually the things I do appreciate. And damn all those memes are hilarious.
I like this movie but I don't think the tragedy is well written. Anakin turns to the dark side too fast. He is normal in the scenes before saving Palpatine and then he is suddenly killing everyone at the Jedi temple.
@@Ankka939 He turns too fast for a 2 1/2 hour movie. The novells describe his conflict since he became a padawan and his relationship to Palpatine way better of course. How would you have done it without stretching the movie too far?

@@Ankka939More evil than deleting a whole village and disobeying his master and the order whenever he can? The blindness of the council would have been even more unplausible than it already was if Anakin did worse. He had no other choice than going full evil after he betrayed Windu for Padme. And he already was in genocide mode once. Idk what else he should do to become evil.
@@Geffi01 I think its just a step too far. Its hard to believe that Anakin who just talked normally to Obi-Wan and Windu just goes killing everyone few scenes later.
I always loved Anakin’s prophetic line about saving Obi-Wan: ‘His fate will be the same as ours’ Palpatine: died on a Death Star because Vader Obi-Wan: died on a Death Star because Vader Anakin: died on a Death Star because Vader
From my perspective, the Jedi were 100% at fault for Anakin’s turning to the dark side. They knew full well that he was predisposed to extreme fear of loss and did nothing to help him counter it. For example, what would it have hurt to bring his mom to a safer place and let him visit from time to time while he was still young?
I know I’m a little late to this comment, but Shmi Skywalker was a slave. It wasn’t until much later that Lars bought Shmi from Watto, freed her and eventually married her. They didn’t have any forms of communication, and the only reason why Anakin went back to Tattooine in the first place was because he was worried about his premonitions. They had no way of telling what was going on in each others lives Also younglings are not allowed to see their birth parents. They are brought to the academy at a very young age so they can forget their birth family and join their Jedi family. That’s why the Council didn’t want Anakin to be a padawan in the first place. He was too old
“So this is how Liberty dies… with thunderous applause.” 😢 As a soldier this was heart wrenching to hear, because when liberty is taken, people give it up.

@@mattrismatt every single question you've asked could be answered by simply looking it up. It honestly seems like you have not consumed any Star Wars media other than maybe the prequels and OT. It is known that Palpatine's plans went far beyond the clone wars and it was in fact merely the prelude to ruling the entire Galaxy. No one doubts that. As for the manipulating: @Squeekysquid was the one telling you how powerful of a manipulator Palpatine is and you were the one doubting it. Considering all of that it seems like you are the one with the simplistic interpretation of this (apparently interesting) story.
@@mattrismatt i understand why people wouldnt like to look things up, i for one grew up with Star Wars and Warcraft and for Star Wars it was the prequels aswell as the Clone Wars. So for me a fictional universe was always more than just a movie or just a game. Now about your question: I do think Palpatine ultimately failed because, as you said, Star Wars after all is still a fairytale so the "good guys" have to win. Not looking at the story like that I think that the ruthlessness the empire ruled with aswell as the rapid expansion, which led to instability and a rising spirit of rebellion were the main reasons why the empire ultimately failed to sustain. So of course I think if it wasnt for the rebellion and the resistance, the empire would not have failed. Palpatine would probably keep searching for more and more power, which is what i think what he really wanted (like most sith). As for the sequels, just as the whole canon reset after Disney's takeover, i'm not a fan of it. Matter of fact im more of an old republic fan.
Revenge of the Sith is one of my favourite films. I saw it when I was 12 and it broke my heart. Whenever I watch it, I end up crying like I did when I was a kid.
This is my favorite SW movie! I remember seeing it on the midnight release. RotS is a masterpiece!!!
In terms of the dark side, usually it kind of possesses and numbs your feelings and fills your head with passion and power. Makes you blind to almost everything. Anakins impulse to stop Windu I believe was “in the moment” and realized there is no going back at that point for him. He got scared and ran to another master tho his fear blinded him to other options.
Through Passion I gain strength. They use the pain, hate, anger, and raw emotions to fuel their power in the Dark Side. If you are in pain, it will fuel you.
@@teachmehacksthink adrenaline. Adrenaline makes you make decisions on the fligh split second stuff. It’s pretty similar to how being on the dark side is portrayed.
The whole Order 66 scene just wrecks my emotional state every single time I watch it. The music amplifies it. 😭😭 I have a feeling that the youngling called Anakin master because he would've been promoted once Palpatine was arrested or executed and it was told to everyone beforehand and would be a surprise to Anakin. The tear he had on Mustafar at least showed that deep down, he hated what was going on, but couldn't stop it.
The Clone Wars animated series is something you certainly want to see. The events in the series makes what happened to the Jedi during Order 66 that much more heartbreaking. Another major part left out in this episode is the closeness between Anakin and his Padawan Ahsoka and why you don't see her in this episode. She does make an appearance in the Rebels animated series and the fight scene between her and Vader is also heartbreaking. Binge watch Clone Wars if you have to but please make an effort to watch all 7 seasons.
@@joelangelsanchez1581 I prefer release order. That's the way many people originally saw it and the way George Lucas and Dave Filoni intended. It wasn't until after the series ended that someone decided it was more convenient to watch them out of order. Watching them chronologically is going to have spoilers of events they haven't seen yet.
@@jeffburnham6611 If you watch Clone Wars, then Revenge, you more easily pick up on how Palpatine was manipulating both sides of the war and how his control over the Senate escalated to the point of them applauding his declaration of being Emperor. also you will see how close multiple people came to folding the plot. Remember that fives ahsoka obi wan, darth maul, anakin, yoda, and dooku all came close to folding the plot.Which makes this all more tragic.
Qui Gonn spirit taught Obi Wan to become a force ghost. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".
''I am not blind, Padmé. Though I have tried to be, for Anakin's sake. And for yours. Anakin has loved you since the day you met, in that horrible junk shop on Tatooine. He's never even tried to hide it, though we do not speak of it. We... pretend that I don't know. And I was happy to, because it made him happy. You made him happy, when nothing else ever truly could.'' - Obi-Wan Kenobi
For all Anakin, now Vader, knew, his child (singular, because no one knew she was carrying twins until just before their birth) died with her. If you notice, Padme is buried looking to be still pregnant. It was a brilliant way to keep Vader from investigating where the child went. It wasn't until after the destruction of the first Death Star that he would even learn that there was a possibility. It wouldn't have taken long for word to get around about the young hotshot pilot from Tatooine named Skywalker who was responsible. Vader was relentlessly looking for Luke as The Empire Strikes Back opens, and later during his contact with the Emperor does he accept it is his son. He doesn't realize there was a sister until Luke's thoughts betray him on the second Death Star, which Vader uses to tempt Luke to the Dark Side. It's probable that he didn't know it was Leia while he was alive. His dying words to Luke were "tell your sister you were right".
i love love how you listen and watch more than you talk. it's a joy to watch someone immerse themselves in the saga instead of just trying to appease subscribers.
To boil down why Anakin does it all... Throught the Clone Wars, the jedi have consistantly lied and kept things from him. He's convinced that in order to gain the power of the dark side, he has to do dark side things. But he reaches a point where he has gained so much power that he becomes lost in it and loses sight of why he was doing this to begin with. Really simplified down... 😅
To be fair to the Jedi council though, Anakin also hide plenty from them that more than a little justified their distrust. He had a secret love affair with a republic senator _and_ massacred a village full of Tusken men, women and children. I'm not saying the Jedi couldn't have done more, but Anakin was a bad egg.

The Jedi especially Obi Wan failed to give him the emotional support and guidance that he truly needed. Anakin's descent into darkness was well portrayed. Because some Jedi never completely loved him, didn't respect him, didn't trust him, didn't take him seriously and even despised him. As a child before Obi-Wan started teaching him, he was hated and psychologically bullied by other children "Anakin is a slave to his feelings" and that was only because of envy because he was much more gifted and skilled than them. . . . And many other things and sufferings he and his padawan, Ashoka Tano, the Jedi like to cause. Yoda during the Clone Wars, he met the spirit of Darth Bane in Sitt's tomb, which is created by the rule of two. And later in his visions he saw Anakin becoming Darth Vader and didn't do anything about it because I thought it wasn't worth it. Anakin was a slave all his life - Tatuine, Jedi, Love, Dark Side. He became a father figure to Qui-gon Jinn, during his stay in the temple he was psychologically bullied and called by others "Anakin slaves to his own feelings", he lost his mother, the Jedi never married him all the time and without proper evidence he accused Ashoka and caused her to leave and finally he was afraid of losing Padmé. The only and worst support given the events was Palpatine who was a fatherly substitute for Anakin from the beginning. When he used Mace Windu's hand and after killing the Jedi he was already in the dark as the dark side itself showed him to the planet Mortis The One Son. On Mustafar, Padme almost got him from the dark side, but Obi-Wan discovered him and screwed it up. Anakin "Vader" built his castle on Mustafar and thanks to the two sbosobs he tried to revive Padmé but he could not see it due to the fact that Luke and Leya were already born, they were the only ones preventing it with their existence. Too bad he didn't find "Word between Wolrds" on the planet Lothal. He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;) . . . You have to find out about the lost 20 Jedi like Count Dooku, about the fates of Jedi with the ability to see the future, young apprentices who were not taken by any Jedi masters to learn, who showed little talent for the force and were not shown to the temple which in some cases was quite drastic, . .. Blinded by ego, aronance, pride, absolute help to people and not following the path of forces. Honor to the exceptions and one of the true Jedi was Master Fey. The Jedi and the Fallen Jedi (Sith) have betrayed the memory and message of their common ancestors of the Je'daii Order by their actions and the endless battles of their Civil War. 😊 May the force be with you. The sixth movie (Ep III), is essentially the myth of Orpheus retold (which, imho, is why it's so compelling). Orpheus’s singing and playing were so beautiful that animals and even trees and rocks moved about him in dance. In the Orpheus myth, he marries his one true love, Eurydice, and on their wedding day, attempting to escape a pursuer, she stubbles into a snake pit and is killed. Orpheus is inconsolable, and decides to journey to the Underworld (Hades), to rescue her (from death). With the power of his song, he persuades Hades (the God of the Underworld of the same name), and Hades' wife, Persephone, to release his wife Eurydice, under the condition that Orpheus is forbidden to "look back" until they both reach the "normal life" surface. They both journey to topside, and seeing the sunlight, Orpheus looks back to see that Eurydice is following him. When he does, she's instantly drawn back the the Underworld of Hades. He lost his "true love" a second time, and in his grief, essentially "fell apart, sacrificed higher principles and moral principles, and in the end, was torn apart by the the women of Thrace.
Another proof of why Jedi are equally responsible for Anakin’s fall is the disagreement Qui Gon used to have with the Jedi council. Had he been alive to mentor Anakin…things would have turned out differently because Qui Gon’s thought process was different to the Jedi Council and more understanding towards Anakin. Hence the dual where he was killed in Episode one…or rather the music…is called Duel of the Fates…because his death changed a lot of things for the future
Although they don't say the word "Sith" in the original trilogy - way back in 1977 when the first Star Wars came out, we knew that Darth Vader was "Dark Lord of the Sith". It was used in promotional materials and such. We just didn't have a full idea yet of what that meant.
I always love seeing someone’s first reaction to this film George truly knew how to make such a thrilling and heartbreaking tale, Star Wars will always be my favorite series ever.
I love how the scenes parallel when Padme dies Vader is taking his first breath, she lost the will to live because the will to act and courage are opposite frequencies to cowardice and fear. Palpatine planted so much fear into Anakin and ironically drained Padmes will to live and love through Vaders fear and hate.
Damn that was intense, felt like watching it for the first time again myself. Wasn't prepared for those feels. That's the thing with the Dark Side. Even if the power to save lives would exist, the Dark Side corrupts you inside and out. Even if one would get so far into the mysteries of the Dark Side to learn that power, they would not use it for good because they are too far gone already. The only thing that can really bring a Dark Side user back to the light is the very thing that often made them fall to begin with: Love
My favorite part is when Obi wan covers his mouth telling Padma that Anakin killed younglings to keep himself from laughing cause he could not stop laughing.
I didn't notice this the first time I watched this movie but, it is interesting that when Windu had Palpatine on the floor beaten, he tells Anikin that he was too dangerous to be left alive which echos the same exact thing Palpatine tells Anikin after killing Dooku.

In the end. You can blame Sidius all you want for turning Anakin, but in truth, Mace had a lot to do with it too. The constant doubt of him, the constant treating him like a child despite how many times he risked his life to save others. The judgment. And in the end when Mace said "he's too dangerous to be kept alive", the exact same thing Sidius said about Dukoo (sp?), Anakin felt, Jedi, Sith, they aren't so different, so why not join the side that has the possibility of saving the one person he loves?
The whole council down from the grand masters-masters-padawans- and younglings they all hated anakin and since he grew up outside of the order he felt things differently than the ones who grew up in the order
Bullocks. Anakin was always brash and too eager. He lacked discipline. Windu was right to have his reservations, as Anakin blatantly proved in Windu's last moments. Windu didn't inspire him to off younglings. That was all Palpatine, and Anakin did it. Remind me what Windu played in that.
To answer your question, yes, as far as Vader knows at this point, his child is dead (he didn't even know Padme was carrying twins). Vader didn't find out Luke was his son until shortly before Empire Strikes Back.
From the animated clone wars we see that the clone have a chip on there brains that was told to make them less rebellious due to the bounty hunter they got his DNA from, but in reality they were used to control them and to follow Order 66 without any kind of conflict. As you said fighting side by side with someone you build a bond with them. Most clones had good relations with the jedi

There is a saying, that encapsulates this movie to a Tee. The saying is that "one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it." Anakin wanted to save padme, but by trying to save her, she died.

10:19 If Anakin would have become a Master here he would have had access to the restricted section at the temple library which could have helped him find another way to protect Padme. That info comes from the Episode III novelisation. Not becoming a Master is a reason why he was angry at Mace denying him that. A part of that holocron vault can be seen in the 2008 animated clone wars show.
They really should have clarified this in the film. Gives him more reason to be angry at being denied the rank of master. Without it he just seems like a spoiled brat angry at the perceived insult.

I'm glad you watched the movies in this order, AND that you didn't skip phantom menace. So many people will tell you that release order is best, but that's just so so untrue in my opinion. Watching Return of the Jedi first takes a lot of the weight out of Revenge of the Sith I believe. Going straight from the prequels to RotJ makes it so much more impactful when you get to the scenes between Luke and Leia and most of all between Luke and Vader. And the payoff at the very end is 1000x stronger when you're coming right off the heartbreak of episode 3, and I never understand people that don't see that. The most common criticism of the prequel trilogy is that Anakin's turn to the dark side happens way too abruptly, and that is probably the only criticism about this movie that I would say I agree with, as much as I absolutely love this film. The prequels really needed to be 4 movies in my opinion. Another movie between 2 and 3 showing the war and more of Anakin's struggle would have made this movie much better. The fact that they made a 7 season show that was exactly that, proves my point. But I think it's still amazing regardless. I enjoy the politics and all of the stuff that people complain about. It was all done very purposefully and intentionally by george lucas, and the cohesion and vision that runs through all of episodes 1-6 is amazing. That's where the sequels really screwed up
@6:06 That squealing sound you heard after the decapitation was the Dark Side of the Force... @7:51 when they show the spaceport, if you look at the bottom of the screen you can see the Millennium Falcon landing in the lower deck @12:15 What Chancellor Palpatine DOESN'T SAY is that HE was the apprentice muahahaha! (That's why he threw in that little smirk when he said "Ironic...") @32:51 When speaking about Force ghosts, you should remember in Ep.2 when Anakin started killing the Sand People, you could hear Qui-Gon screaming "Anakin...NO!" Next up, you should watch Rogue One
One question you did have. The more he killed the easier it got and the stronger he felt. That's the nature of the Dark Side. It's like giving into your "guilty pleasures" but the more you do it the less guilty it feels. And you'll just want more. But yeah it's possible to come back. Because he ultimately did.
22:39 The story of the clones is so sad and tragic. For more insight on that I recommend watching the clone wars show. It gives a whole new perspective to this movie.
If only those chips where removed 😭 but mortis arc said that revenge of the sith was inevitable but it never mentioned the clones which is weird or did they force see them irrelevant
@@preciousotoakhia9789yodas arc clarifies this. The clones were, in the forces eyes, a stab at the jedi. Not so vehemently, but as a lesson. Using cloned humans in war. The force saw this as unacceptable. Remember, they are a mechanism, and the mechanism was used. Everyone was used.
@@preciousotoakhia9789 the force wasnt disliking of the clones. It saw them as necessary. Remember everything happens/happened for a reason. The clones were just a necessary mechanism by the force that would complete the plan. it was needed to bring blanace. look at them as a hammer and the jedi a nail. Simply.
Musical foreshadowing in "The Phantom Menace": At the end of the movie, there's a street band with horns & drums & whistles playing a song of celebration accompanied by a children's choir. It's actually an upbeat, cheerful version of the Emperor's Theme from "Return of the Jedi". (BTW, there was a PS/2 game made of Episode III. It was pretty fun.)
Revenge is my favorite movie. It's by far the darkest & most adult. I do hope you get into Clone Wars. You'll see better why Anakin became seduced by the Dark Side and why he believes the Jedi are evil. The Jedi certainly make their mistakes during the Clone Wars & with Anakin. The series certainly adds a LOT to the prequels. It's a very hard story to tell in just like 6-7 hours. Always thought that Hayden's performance of Anakin was really lame. But the series does a good job explaining that character even better & why Hayden played him the way he did.
@@vetarlittorf1807 whatever, forehead. The prequels are TRASH on their own and make no sense. "I hate them, sand I killed them like dogs...even the children" 2 seconds later "I love you Ani". Okay, so that makes Padme a psycho with some serial killer fetish.
This Anakin is far more realistic a angry conflicted emotional man, the clone wars Anakin is too charismatic and heroic for that for his character. Clone wars Anakin had barely any angry or emotional moments
I wish I could watch these movies for the first time again. I often wonder what it would be like to have grown up with the original trilogy. The shock of hearing “I am your father” must have been so much more surreal for them not having the context we do now. I wish I could’ve experienced that for myself
Christensen goes from a cool, charismatic action hero to a vulnerable, tormented soul to a manic, raving lunatic with a deranged spark in his eyes. McDiarmid obviously thrived in a theatre-esque tragedy screenplay and had lots of fun hamming it up but Hayden's performance is not to be underestimated.
I can’t recommend watching the clone wars show enough, even if you just watch the important episodes, which you can probably find a list of online. It shows the corruption and hypocrisy of the republic and the Jedi, and gives all of the clones character and individuality - it also shows how they were as much victims of order 66 the Jedi were. Also there are some amazing new fan favourite characters, which feature in other more recent Star Wars shows.
If you have seen all the clone wars. The ending to this hurts the most because of how much Obi Wan loved him. Ahsoka felt she left him though she didn't.
This film is so well made and it’s by far the best movie in the saga. Anakin is my favourite character ever and his turn to the Dark Side breaks me every time, seeing you turn on the water works during that scene made me tear up too despite seeing it like a hundred times before 🥺😅 This story is so beautiful and so tragic all at once. You should definitely watch Obi-Wan Kenobi after this and give The Clone Wars a chance, they both expand on the Anakin/Obi-Wan relationship massively. I’m so glad I discovered your channel, I’ll be going back to watch all your other SW reactions after this one. Love the red lighting btw, very fitting. PS don’t let people online discourage you from seeing the Sequel Trilogy. They’re not bad films at all. You might not like them or you might love them but come to that conclusion yourself rather than letting haters persuade you to not even give them a chance. I’m sure you were planning on watching them anyway, I thought I’d say this just in case.❤
I still remember going to our countries premier for this and the silence from when Anakin burned to when he rose as Vader was extremely palpable. Nobody said a word walking out of the cinema lol I only talked when some reporters were outside asking us questions about our thoughts and our favorite characters. Such a tremendous moment.
Reflecting heavily on Anakin's story is perhaps the greatest of tragedies ever told. As a child, he's been through more than most can handle. I idealized the Jedi as heros who will bring freedom and joy to the galaxy. He grows up with a brother figure, yet the Order instills Anakin to block away his feelings, which for someone who is traumatized cannot do. Even to Obi Wan, he has to restrain himself from being him and following his feelings. Padme, one of the first people to see him as not just a slave, openly shows her gentle affection. Which for people like Anakin, will heavily dream and fantasize on. They grow closer, then the fear of losing such a connection after the failure to save his mother is the final breaking point. "Beware your heart." The strongest words I feel is shared to Anakin, because his heart is his undoing. He wanted people to be safe. To be happy, but he wanted to control that in the universe. Such power and idealization corrupted him to where darkness manipulated him. What makes it worse is that this was always his destiny. In the grand scheme of the universe in regards to balance of the Force, Anakin's fate was always inevitable. The man was a pawn to suffer, but to liberate the universe. No one in the galaxy will ever know.
To Stef, I know that this episode has been a real tearjerker, it’s the darkest one of this six part movie saga. But rest assured episode 6 will bring some badly needed catharsis after all this, I’m looking forward to your reaction to Return of the Jedi.
After episode 3 there are two things to remember on why Vader "stayed" vader 1. He thought he lost everything, including his children. He hated himself for what happened more than anything and basically just let the world feel his hatred for himself 2. He was actually afraid of palpatine and feared dying to him After he realised that his son was still alive this changed with Vader and eventually let to him betraying palpatine
What a perfect reaction! Easily one of the best I've ever seen, as for a Star Wars movie or any movie in general...I could feel how genuine you were. You're so nice, sweet and adorable... You never ask stupid questions, or make stupid comments, at any moment. And yet with such simplicity, naievety, but never in a way that makes it annoying, for some reason. Because the emotions you're showing are believable and you're meaning it. With a lot of truth and honesty about yourself. I like when people don't catch or guess everything they see. You're just catched by surprise at the moments that were exactly meant for that, and I always appreciate this a lot when it happens and when it feels so honest like you do. You're never overdoing it. When you laugh, you laugh and it's quick and straight to the point without dragging it uselessly. When you smile, it just comes from sheer joy, and when you cry, it's never ugly, it's very gentle, quiet and you allow your tears, big, thick and pearly like those of a phoenix, to stream and fall all over the place (pretty sure it could turn into a puddle somewhere, actually, if these tears you shed were all fallen and focused on a same spot, but I'm digressing anyway), which combined with the rest makes it really pleasant to watch. Thank you for being yourself, just the way you are. Don't change anything. It's 10/10 for me. Great job, and mostly, great human being. Keep going, girl 👍
In my opinion, this is the second best Star Wars movie behind empire strikes back. If you watch Clone Wars, it makes those scenes with obi Wan hurt even more.
I saw you were wearing turquoise. We are told we are made of this earth, so our skin is that of earthly color... before the first of the first mothers died and became part of the sky... she told us kids to wear this bright blue gem so she would know where to look (blue gems against brown earth) when they are up there smiling down on us. Thats why a lot of us natives wear/value turquoise.

Mandalorian is cool. Not the original super epic Star wars story, but a decent episodic show that displays different planets and environments which is decently done.
Fun fact: that scream sidious used when fighting the Jedi masters was the most advance dark side ability. That scream would leave some of the strongest Jedi fearing for their life. Which is why they were so easily defeated
Great reaction first off...Having seen your reaction to episode 2 and when you were excited about the younglings. Seeing your reaction now to Anakin killing them was as I felt it, sad and disbelief. I personally found the fall from Anakin to the dark side very sudden in this movie but if you watch clone wars, you can see there how slowly slowly Palpatine gets more and more in Anakins mind. Also as you realized, the vision of Padme's death was in the end Anakin's own doing. It always got me the moment Padme dies from heartbreak, having lost her love vs. Anakin becoming fully Darth Vader. And yes Vader in Dutch at least means father, not sure if intended. The lightsaber duel between Obi and Anakin is absolutely the best and Obi's speech and sentence you were my brother is also so heartbraking but powerful.

Say what you will about the prequels, but Revenge is by far the most compelling of the three and has arguably the best lightsaber duel in the films

@@rgoodwyn yes. I will always love Hayden as Anakin.

When Stef said "I can't believe that", sounded exactly the same as when Padme says it later on about the same thing 😂
@@Fangtornnakin knew that he would be expelled from the Jedi order if his actions against the Tuskens ever came to light. He felt that the Jedi needed him with the Clone War going on so he couldn’t bring himself to leave them. Also he would’ve been expelled if his relationship with Padme came to light, I can’t fault him for loving her. The Jedi especially Obi Wan failed to give him the emotional support and guidance that he truly needed. If only Qui Gon hadn’t been slain by Maul he would’ve been able to mentor and guide Anakin better than any of the other Jedi.
The Jedi at this point had become far too dogmatic, they were too stuck in their traditions, and they allowed themselves to become lapdogs of corrupt senators and elites instead of serving the average people of the Republic. In the ROTS novel Yoda realized that he had failed because he didn’t allow the order to change, to reform itself. By contrast the Sith had changed, they had evolved and remade themselves. The Jedi had only prepared to fight the last war against the Sith which was a millennia ago.
@@jmwilliamsart jedis basically ignored all the pain he suffered his entire life and basically said (like fangtorn) "yep, he's just a bad egg" and when he not only didnt find help and solutions from jedis, he found it on Palpatine and the dark side, like, jedis, you get what u... dont give
@@brandonleon4068 The Jedi, via Qui-gon, saved Anakin from a life of slavery and raised him in relative safety and comfort despite having severe misgivings about him. Their teachings and methods, while flawed and in need of reform, were good enough to raise thousands of Jedi from all works of life. Again, I'm not saying they didn't fail Anakin or couldn't have done better, but he also failed them. He could also have done a lot better.
@@Fangtorn QUAI GON saved him. Jedis literally rejected him in the first place, Quai Gon offered volunteer to train him himself. If was for Jedi order, Anakin would be still a slave in tatoine 🤢🤢
GREAT REACTION VIDEO STEF !!! I absolutely felt your emotion when Anakin fell to the Dark Side to become the most famous "mouth breather" in cinematic history. All kidding aside, this was the culmination of the Prequel trilogy that leads into reign of the Empire and the true beginning of the Star Wars franchise. Keep it going Stef !!!
I Saw Revenge of the Sith in cinemas back in 2005. I was alone that day. I had all the cinema for me. First screening on a Saturday. I'll never forget the impact of this movie. Evil has won. But still there is a Spark of Hope 👏👏
He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;)

May the force be with you.
And may you lead the force. 🖐️
its interesting to look at how the movies get progressively darker from the first to this, the first one was nice and pleasant looking, more colorful, the 2nd one was neutral while this one was quite dark overall :)
Hard to believe it was 18 years ago when i first watched this twice in theaters. It was a massive, year defining moment for me when this was released. I started my first job that year and was finishing my first year at college when it came out. I remember heading into town on a hot spring day when the merchandise was officially released, and i saw Revenge of the Sith on billboards everywhere. It was such a great time I just wish I had a time machine lol.
Why would you remind me of this
I liked Star Wars, but Revenge of The Sith is when I fell in love with Star Wars.
I still love how growing up everyone knew what a Sith was and also what an Ewok was even though neither are said throughout the OT
Great reaction Stef.
The first 6 movies are basicaaly the story of Anaknin Skywalker. How a gifted young boy becoming a jedi. His turning to the darkside and his redemption in the end.
Kinda makes order 66 and empire his fault if so
@@preciousotoakhia9789 Of course it's his fault, that is no secret, it's the whole point of his character. He could have let Windu kill (or at least arrest) Palpatine and that would be the end for him, but instead he decided to join the dark side, let Palpatine become emperor and started hunting the surviving jedi.
@@Mandorle21 so Anakin made they dark times(time of the empire)
The "first 6 movies" are the ONLY movies... maybe you can add Rogue One... maybe.
@@preciousotoakhia9789 Well, it was Palpatine's plan, he manipulated Anakin, but yeah, without Anakin the empire would have never existed, because as I already said, Windu would have arrested or killed Palpatine.
Of course there are theories about Palpatine having a "plan B", in case Anakin didn't fell to the dark side, resisted his manipulations and remained a jedi, but nobody knows for sure.
In the end. You can blame Sidius all you want for turning Anakin, but in truth, Mace had a lot to do with it too. The constant doubt of him, the constant treating him like a child despite how many times he risked his life to save others. The judgment. And in the end when Mace said "he's too dangerous to be kept alive", the exact same thing Sidius said about Dukoo (sp?), Anakin felt, Jedi, Sith, they aren't so different, so why not join the side that has the possibility of saving the one person he loves?
never thought of it like this. not a bad take
The whole council down from the grand masters-masters-padawans- and younglings they all hated anakin and since he grew up outside of the order he felt things differently than the ones who grew up in the order
Bullocks. Anakin was always brash and too eager. He lacked discipline. Windu was right to have his reservations, as Anakin blatantly proved in Windu's last moments. Windu didn't inspire him to off younglings. That was all Palpatine, and Anakin did it. Remind me what Windu played in that.
This movie is only number 2 because of how magnificent Empire is. I remember the buzz of seeing this in the cinema, an incredible experience!
"This is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause"
At least it didn't die because it was sad.
No. That doesn't count. According to Lucas, it was a last resort contingency, not something pre-programmed.
@vetarlittorf1807 and yet still was away to curb their selfish nature on top of the DNA modification, based on your own words. And the Emperor used that to his advantage
ep3 is my alltime favorite starwars movie. So tragic.
There is a saying, that encapsulates this movie to a Tee. The saying is that "one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it." Anakin wanted to save padme, but by trying to save her, she died.
22:20 Yes, he is, and with a tear in his eye.
Awesome job on all of your Star Wars reactions, Stef. Keep up the great work.
I love seeing people react to movies, songs, and tv series that I love for the first time. Because I can never do it again, it is refreshing to share in someone else's perspective and experience.
after mace windus death anakin felt like he was in too deep and he couldnt go back, so he kept going thinking that palpatine would tech him to save padme and he just kept going deeper and deeper. its sad.
The dark side is a hell of a drug it really screws with how your priorities and howyou view the world and force
The first film was released years before I was born, and I didn't get to see the original three in theatres until the nineties. I-III were released later, and unlike most vocal fans, I loved each one, and III is still my favorite, of all nine!
Anakin was so lost he forgotten what a great Jedi he could have been
10:19 If Anakin would have become a Master here he would have had access to the restricted section at the temple library which could have helped him find another way to protect Padme.
He wanted to gain access to the sith holocrons stored inside. But regardless there is no force technique that would have saved her.
@@aacm1259yes there is there is force healing. Luke uses it multiple times

THIS is why reaction videos are so amazing. I'm pretty sure this one movie gives the best reaction videos ever made. And to be 100% honest, half the guys I ever met would probably do exactly what Anakin did given all the same criteria.
23:58 I'd say the dark side is a downwards spiral. You can have good intentions in the beginning but it probably will corrupt you more and more. The same happened with Dooku as one can see in both 'the clone wars' and 'tales of the jedi' show.
Yes, as Yoda tells Luke "once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny"
Anakin choking Padme really does show how the dark side quickly changes and corrupts someone.
Good soldiers follow orders
So I'm only a min and 7 in. The part where she says "I thought we'd see more clone wars, but someone told me they made a show? Idk why they did it like that?" And I just lost it with laughter. Honestly the best response to something like that as a huge stars fan. Love it!
Definitely my favorite star wars film. I'm glad you enjoyed it
I'm glad you watched the movies in this order, AND that you didn't skip phantom menace.
@7:51 when they show the spaceport, if you look at the bottom of the screen you can see the Millennium Falcon landing in the lower deck
@12:15 What Chancellor Palpatine DOESN'T SAY is that HE was the apprentice muahahaha! (That's why he threw in that little smirk when he said "Ironic...")
@32:51 When speaking about Force ghosts, you should remember in Ep.2 when Anakin started killing the Sand People, you could hear Qui-Gon screaming "Anakin...NO!"
Next up, you should watch Rogue One
Tears of a caring lady brings peace and pause to a chaotic world. An innocent lady should NEVER cry but ONLY from happiness.
If only those chips where removed 😭 but mortis arc said that revenge of the sith was inevitable but it never mentioned the clones which is weird or did they force see them irrelevant
fives. remember fives.
@@teachmehacks so force didn't like they clones because they where just like droids and could kill jedi

Wrong. TCW is an insult to the prequels. Especially to Anakin's character.
Ian McDiarmid steals the show. Nobody else in the film comes close.
Truth. Ewan does great as Obi wan but nobody is as memorable as Mcdiarmid.
32:00 “One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” - master Oogway - kung-fu panda.
What about the clones, where they part of Anakin destiny since mortis arc said everything that happened in star wars was inevitable
There never was a way to keep loved ones from dying. He said that to manipulate anakin.
To Stef, I know that this episode has been a real tearjerker, it’s the darkest one of this six part movie saga. But rest assured episode 6 will bring some badly needed catharsis after all this, I’m looking forward to your reaction to Return of the Jedi.
After episode 3 there are two things to remember on why Vader "stayed" vader
1. He thought he lost everything, including his children. He hated himself for what happened more than anything and basically just let the world feel his hatred for himself
2. He was actually afraid of palpatine and feared dying to him
After he realised that his son was still alive this changed with Vader and eventually let to him betraying palpatine
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THIS WAITING IS GOING TO BE THE END OF ME NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you watch the clone wars tv show, it adds SO MUCH needed context and fleshing out of the characters. It makes this 100x more heartbreaking.
25:07 I think this scene shows that Anakin is also sad about and struggeling with the choice he made.

They sort of had a one way agreement where the jedi could view any and all senate meetings so they are aware of what's going on in the galaxy (just the parts the republic own) but the senators and chancellor were never trusted by the jedi, so much so that when Palpatine requested that Anakin be on the council the other council members instructed Anakin to spy on the Chancellor
The clone wars was the Republics fight but it was started by the jedi invading a separatist planet in order to save 2 jedi and a politician. So it seems the republic had to adhere to the Jedi's decisions but never the other way round. The two were so intricately linked that I can see where the confusion would come from
watching her cry made me tear up too
I don't have enough words to recommend "Rogue One" as the next movie, is different because is a side story, but is very, very good.
I saw RotS when it first came out. The cinema was completely packed and buzzing, but at the end, when the lights went up, everyone was shook, and left the theatre in total silence.
