The cool thing about the blackshields is that there were both knight houses AND titan legios that went blackshield as well

Are there any rules for hazardous terrain (toxic, void etc) as was mentioned when it was first announced?
Thanks for this guys!!!! This review helps to decide if you need this book or not. Personally, I'm gonna get it. Really hyped for the Blackshields and the "Legion'ed" Solar Auxilia, but disappointed by Shattered Legions and repeated content on the book.
The SL should be more elemental and less complicated. Maybe selecting the traits when writting the list, and not being mandatory to mix members of different legions in the same squad. That situation with the NL dread is really frustrating.
Blackshields are like a dream for customization and storytelling. I am gonna love making lists for concept-armies. And they are PERFECT for the 500 point Civil War system!!!!!
Agreed! I think this is a massive boost to the last campaign book. So much better

Agreed. I do wonder if it will get much easier after a couple of games but my worry is for the opponent more than the player using them
core missions are the same but they removed the first blood secondary objective, right?

Here's hoping that the Legion Command Squad is 4 minis per box and not 2 like they used to do with FW ones.
Endryd Harr, Tybalt Marr, Hibou Khan and Shadrak Meduson all have had their miniatures revealed. All that's left is the Command Squad itself, Horus Aximand and the Legion Optae who I have no idea what he does😅.
Overall a solid book, with rules for the really awesome Shattered Legions and Blackshields (I can already imagine the cool armies people will do with them) plus, the Solar Auxilia.
The Solar Auxilia, in my opinion got way better now with the Introduction of the "Legiones Auxilia" aka Cohorts dedicated to the Legions. Now you can take Auxilia units (Which were, for many Legions a mistrusted ally in the Ally matrix) as a normal ally without the downsides, I hope. I'm actually looking forward to them, I may even get some for myself :).
Can't wait to see the rules and factions in action in the New Campaign!!

@@xInfiniteGaMeRsX Technically speaking yes. He is on the section list of new minis on the "Content" page from the Beta-Garmon book. Same with the Command Squad. Maybe we'll see him next Thursday
There's also the Overseer Consul, but there are lots of other consuls we still don't have models for (Herald, Forge Lord, Paladin of the Hekatonystika, Diabolist etc...) as well as some of the Legion specific Praetors.
@@Jackalos1 For sure. But tbh, an Overseer Consul doesn't really need a specific model. He just Commands Auxilia units around.
We do need minis for everyone though... Unfortunately, since this is the Horus Heresy we're talking about, they'll all be resin which is a bummer

Bascially you can’t make cover or shrouded damage mitigation saves from shooting reactions made by solar auxilia (space wolves)

Shattered Legions seems to be the most dissapointing part of the book, not sure why they just didnt get something similar to blackshields, so complicated for not much gain really. other than that the book seems really good.
Not to mention how two thirds of the actual shattered legions are missing and without any representation

Why is there nothing on the blood angels. The battles of beta garmon is know for having sangi leading it. Man this is so disappointing. I was expecting at least some rules for the sanguinary guard.
There is a bit of fluff from them being their but much less than it should

not him but people want to look at the rules, you can say something but how do we know thats not just interpretation instead of verbatim? e.g the hermes light sentinel grenade launcher, you could say "its like a normal grenade launcher", okay? but i'd like to see the stats, it could have rending on it or 2 shots

@@bear4278 we explain in the review itself that we don’t have the book and only a PDF. We are also not allowed to show off the data slates with the NDS

I’m not sure you actually watched this video, then, as I am half way in and have learned a lot about both a few missions and the shattered legions ruleset
Honestly, reviewing a book we can't get is not a good feeling. "Reviewing" free copies means very little as you won't be critical. So yeah, this is not doing it for me.

Just cause SN gets advanced copies of things, doesn't stop them from being critical of it... sure, they won't roast it like certain channels, but I've found them honest and informative. Keep them coming, @SN team
