My hometown is Vijayawada thanks to our CM of AP everything it becoming expensive day by day. Few years later our city only for rich people because farmers lands were forcefully occupied by the government to make a new and rich nuclear powered City in Amaravati if it's happened lots of farmers became rich people but nature will became polluted and AP's food production rate has been reduced a lot .

mysore is awesome city, I was surprised when I visit for the 1st time. they have got golf course to race course. the city is so clean that you can sit in footpath also ( I have done the same). I loved this city so much. please someone give me a job here
I finished my BE in Bangalore then studied ME in Delhi then Worked in Mumbai for a year afterwards I moved to Hyderabad, worked there for a year.. then finally Moved to Chennai, I'm now settled here! People in Chennai are so nice and helpful, Transport, Beaches, Foods, Culture.. You will not leave this city after moving here. (My native is Kerala)

@ᴊᴏᴋᴇʀ chandigarh is organized and has good infrastructure compared to other north indian cities but it is quite boring and nothing much to do, no history. And it is the only city from North India thats brought up when discussing North indian cities so it feels like a showpiece in the rubble

Dude Chandigarh Physics university is the best institute in India and Asia for Physics lovers The Gurudwaras are magnificient and have beautiful architecture u can go learn martial arts too if u want and u can get free food everyday too so zero living costs and the people are the most kindest and friendliest in the world I mean the word Punjabi is Synonymous to Friendliest. Also funny what u said becoz Punjab was the only Rajya that neither Alexander nor the Mughals nor the British could defeat... The British just waited for our king to die of old age then they attacked but even then just after 100 years of Occupation Punjabi freedom fighters were the foremost ones who lead the freedom struggle so if u mean History as in being annexed and defeated no we don't have that we have true history that India should be proud of.

I mean if u mean night life or things like Being brainwashed into western concepts and speaking their language wearing their clothes , working like them and being just a mirror image of any western city then u won't see any of that here. Even in clubs u will see people wearing traditional garments. U won't be taught in English unless u can't speak any other language than English. And if u are expecting western food and lifestyle please go to Mumbai or Delhi or Hyderabad and breathe the sweet pollution in a pile of Plastic waste. The only reason North is more polluted than South is becoz of Farming. Each year After produce is grown and harvested to replant it u first need to burn the bio mass and it has to be done for complex environmental problems related to shortage in ground water. Now granted that bio mass can be harvested and converted into many things but that requires energy.. the Nuclear kind. This is where the centre went wrong by putting institutes like BARC in Mumbai and building test reactors only in South. I don't want to compare but if we were given at least one opportunity we would have blown any institute that India wanted. Now we are stuck with reactors that are delayed each year since the last decades. The Nuclear energy thing is just an analogy explaining how people from all over India blame northern India for everything when Northerners are the one's that are given the least amount of opportunities. Isro in south, Barc in south, HAL in south and we are here with our best in the entire world Physics sciences and engineering institutes are expected to only have farming and agriculture and dairy institutes, And yes we nailed the job we were given India's agriculture and Dairy industry would be nowhere without us. Just fyi. Visit BARC mumbai and similar institutes it is filled with Punjabis and Northerners but none of them get the same opportunity in Punjab or U.P, Bihar. And for the last time Delhi is not part of Northern India.
Im from Pune and Ive lived in Hyderabad for 3 years. Hands down the best city in the Union. The infrastructure, the food, the polite locals and the helpful policemen are unmatched to anywhere in the country.

Coimbatore is one of the best city for quality education, industries, food, hospitality, lovely people and it is the safest city for women in India and has less crime rate in recent years. The city is one of fastest growing in last ten years with population of 25 lakh. It is 15th cleanest city in India. It has Ooty very nearby. It is one of the fastest growing it hub and has shopping centres and malls.if government spend on tourism and development (like metro rail,etc..) for the city it would be the best!!

Mysuru is the best city for me and also where I live. Its the cleanest city in India. Wonderful historical places and wonderful people and culture. You can get all kinds of food. Its also very affordable compared to Bengaluru.
I dont booze, am more of a family person, a die hard foodie and I live in Ahmedabad and Im happy and content. Have lived/been to many cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyd, Kolkata etc but I just dont know there's something about Ahmedabad that makes me happy (except the weather and traffic), feel safe when i or my family members r out late at night, ease of living life, facilities that all other metros have, etc.. I was born and brought up in Jaipur but its Ahmedabad that I love and made my home.. Thanks. ☺☺

As a person who actually lived in ALL the metro cities in India, I think I would be able to offer a better perspective. Listing the cities in no particular order with pros and cons.
1. Mumbai-
Pros: Safety, very accommodating and polite residents. Always ready to help. Financial capital with plenty of opportunities. Also entertainment capital of India. Good public transport option.
Cons- The cost of living is obnoxiously high.
The bustle of the city might not be for every one.
Food is not great. I'm sorry but had to put that out.
2. Delhi-
Pros: one of the best food. 'The Best' as far as infrastructure is concerned ( because Capital). Plenty of opportunities. Relatively low cost of living.
Cons- it's called the rape capital. Arguably the worst crowd(my experience)
3. Kolkata- The cultural capital. One of the best food ( probably the best), extremely diverse cuisine. The least expensive metro, cheaper than some non- metros. Best and most pocket friendly public transport options. The narrow road description is not accurate as it's probably less than 5% of Kolkata. And the Bengalies are generally very polite and well behaved.
Cons- Lack of opportunities is the biggest issue here. They call it the dying city and not hard to understand why. The extream richness of the culture has diluted lately due to massive brain drain.
4. Bangalore- Currently residing.
pros: The climate and the opportunities are hands down the biggest pros. The city of gardens is the greenest of all the metros. If you like pubs, Bangalore is your city.
Cons- Worst traffic. Some roads are aweful. Very high cost of living. Worst public transport options. Hopefully metro will improve the situation. Water crisis is a thing
5. Chennai-
Pros- The heritage! Again very rich culture. Very affordable city with great opportunities. Good public transport options.
Cons- The climate is extreme. Not suitable for many. Cuisine is also not very diverse. I've seen racial discrimination towards outsiders. Can be orthodox. I was here during the Chennai flood of 2015. City also facing water crisis.
6. Hyderabad-
Pros-Fastest growing city and well balanced. The cost of living is not high and there are plenty of opportunities. The best food in southern India. Helpful locals. Good options for public transport.
Cons- Water crisis can be a threat.

Chennai is one of the safest cities with well connected and cheap transport, good educational institutions, good street food, some over enthusiastic helpful common folks, acceptable cleanliness, capable traffic-congestion-handling personnel, good electricity and decent water supply.
All it needs to improve is Auto richshaw pricing and more friendly bus conductors (but I guess this is same in many cities)

This is a misconception every north indian have that we're rude to other people. Well we're not and we love every Indian from our heart. I've many north Indian friends telling that the people here are really good. I swear they also told me that their shopkeepers are rude. One of my friends is from assam and he said the people are rude over there and here people are good.

I am from Kerala, when I moved to Bangalore for work related I started loosing my hair and then when I spend 6 months in Delhi I had chest infection even though I am a non smoker. Both these two issues were healed when I came back to Kerala.
I've lived in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai. Out of these four, I would say Bangalore is the best. The people are amazing and the climate is chill, and it has the best public transport in India. It also has the least unemployment rate. Also happens to have the most number of pubs. It is the cleanest and least polluted among all major metropolitan cities.

as u rightly said that Kolkata has the oldest metro oldest club and so on and so forth...it is very true because it has nothing new or developing happening..the job opportunities are not enough and overall all an unenthusiastic city ..only durga puja is gr8.b believe me I have worked in smaller cities like indoor where people were more developmental and more fun
