This Vegan Pepperoni tastes SOO Real - 10 min prep

Quick vegan pepperoni to fool any meat-eater. Respect the sausage!

INGREDIENTS (for 1 sausage - enough for 2-3 meals)
DRY INGREDIENTS
100g Vital wheat gluten
1 tsp Cracked black pepper (I actually did do 47 twists of the grinder)
1 tsp Crushed chillies
1.5 tsp Mustard powder
1 (conservative) tsp Salt
2 tsp Smoked paprika
1 tsp Garlic powder
0.5-1 tsp Mild chilli powder
WET INGREDIENTS
100g (100ml) cold water
1 Tbsp oil (I used olive)
1 Tbsp Tomato Puree
METHOD
1. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the dry ingredients
2. Separately, mix together the wet ingredients until the puree has completely dissolved.
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry, use a spoon to combine them. Once a dough starts to form, use your hands to bring everything together.
4. Fashion the dough into a sausage shape, tightly roll up in a sheet of foil and twist the ends of the foil like a sweet wrapper as tight as you can. It can help to fold the ends of the foil over to prevent unraveling.
5. Get a pan of water simmering and stem your sausage for 45 mins.
6. Once steamed, unwrap from the foil, and allow to cool to room temperature. Then wrap in cling film, a zip-loc or tupperware and keep in the fridge until completely cooled.
7. Slice into classic pepperoni slices for pizza or into bigger chunks to add to pasta dishes or similar.

@@ryanpembrook462 I did. I'm not a fan of Wheat Glutton Meat Substitutes unfortunately. I'm not the greatest when it comes to cooking so there is a chance that I messed something up as well. Other people are responding with great reviews though so I would ask one of them. I have a hard time eating a lot of things unfortunately but I'm sure it's a great recipe!

Just wanted to say I’ve used this recipe at least a dozen times now and we still can’t get over how amazing it it! We always make triple and freeze them. It’s great for pasta! For pizza I prefer chopping into small chunks instead of slices and I just toss them in olive oil before putting them on our pizza to bake.
I'm not even vegan, but I have so much fun that I will try it's recipes

You dont need to be completely vegan to enjoy delicious vegan foods. You are free to eat anything edible, that too new recipes.
Been playing around with this recipe & have made some changes I really think kicks this up a few notches.
Instead of oil and tomato paste, get sun dried tomatoes that have been marinating in Italian herb olive oil.
Get some fenel seed and activate it by dry roasting it on a stove top for a short bit. Throw all that in with a ripe avacado, a table spoon of red Miso and two table spoons of soy sauce into your blender, then mixxy mixie mix into your satain mixture.
I blind taste tested it with a few carnivore friends and they Loved it. I have some other tweaks I make, but these ones made a night and day difference in the quality of the end product.
Now if only Vital Wheat Gluten wasn't so damn spendy.
Instead of buying expensive gluten powder, use flour washing method. Its the cheapest but a bit laborious method. The result is amazing. Just get a type of flour which has most protein content, hard wheat flour containing atleast 14% protein. I use APF containing 11% gluten since we have no other option.

Dude for starters you had me crying at 2:13. I haven't laughed that hard in a minute.
Also, I'm 100% going vegan because of you. I tried a few times and failed. I call myself an animal lover but I eat them, I'm sure that's not the type of love they appreciate from me. Not only that, but they are subject to cruelty the likes of which we could not imagine. I lived next to cows before, and I remembered how they yelled all night when their calves were taken away, it was heart breaking. I also remember walking into a store and seeing a WHOLE pig head on display, it absolutely sickened me. However, I still continued to eat meat, but no longer. Thank you for this content, and thank you for reminding me why I need to do this.
Make sure you eat balanced diet after going vegan. Most people find it difficult getting enough nutrients because they do not know what exactly vegan diet consists of. I would suggest getting medically tested to make sure that the new diet doesnt make huge difference in your body. Some people get thyroid and diabetic due to abrupt diet change. If thats the case then you should slowly make transition by having less frequent animal based diet. After a year your body gets used to it.
I would suggest taking thick lentil soup along with boiled rice. Along with it have plenty of salads and stir fried veggies, tofu etc. Use as little oil as possible. If you want to have milk, use almond and cashew or coconut milk.

I've made this several times and it always comes out delicious and is so macro friendly. I prefer to bake it for 40 minutes at 350F tightly wrapped in parchment & foil. It's nice to be able to whip it up by hand and not break out the food processor. Thanks for making such a fun video!

just wanna say i used this recipe to make a recipe for a meat sauce to put in lasagna, and it turned out really well! i did 2.5x the original recipe, shaped it into four separate sausages, steamed them as usual, and then pulsed them in the food processor to chop them up!
I just recently went vegetarian and I'm still living with Mum, and since I loved pepperoni pizza but I'm not an experienced chef I thought I could show Mum this video so we could make this together.
Then I heard all the dick jokes in this video and thought... maybe I should just make this myself.

While looking to make vegan pepperoni, this was the first "Easy Vegan" vid I had ever watched. Your style is an --ahem--interesting to say the least! Made this last night using my rice steamer/cooker. Wonderful! I've made seitan before, but the taste of this is EXCEPTIONAL and way beyond what I expected. Even the texture is comparable when sliced thinly. I also like the amount the single recipe created; I ended up with about a 4cm (1.5"ish ) wide and about 23cm (9"ish) long. Had to subscribe. Thank you for sharing!

This was just delightful! I added a bit of crushed fennel seed per your recommendation. We'll be making a quadruple batch to freeze soon. We're trying your sausage rolls recipe on New Year's Eve and saved a bit of this batch to add to the pizza one. Please keep the videos coming! I truly appreciate your vibrant personality. The fiance and I also love burgers, pizza, chocolate, and whiskey...though we do use the odd chia seed from time to time.
