You look as impressed by this as I was! Really impressive trailer. I hope it lives up to the my expectations. I told myself not to get myself as worked up as last time…. Then I saw this damn trailer! It’s just too exciting!
im keeping my expectations in check after being let down by the first seasons finale, but this does look good. the production design and over look seems much improved. hope Season 2 builds on what was good from Season 1 and throws the fans a bone or two
I am having so much fun watching everyone's reactions! I was so tired the morning of (got up at 5 a.m.😳 ) so the whole day just sort of washed over me! So now I get to watch with everyone again, and see new things each time!! Can't wait til premiere day!
I think that EOTW is likely the most difficult book to adapt under even ideal circumstances, and the circumstances of S1 were far from ideal in many ways. For myself, the story is character driven. It's about all of them (see what I did there? :D) so if the show stays true to the characters and hits most of the major plot points (even if they end up happening in a different order and/or in a different geographic location, etc), I will be satisfied. We will not ever get a page-by-page remake of the books. Things will change. We won't like all of those changes. But I'm going in prepared to enjoy what we get, and this trailer has just amped my hype meter up to critical levels!
LOL, your face was much like mine the first time I watched the trailer. My eyes were just as wide, my jaw just as dropped.... There was just SO MUCH coming at us in that trailer so fast that it was difficult for our brains to comprehend. I had to watch the trailer several times before I could figure out that, yes, I was seeing Logain, Lanfear, Leandrin, and that horrible whatshisname peddler holding the box with the precious horn that he stole! This 2nd Season looks like it will be much darker, more sinister than the first one, which is fine with me. Just bring it on already!!!
I think that they're going to lean in to the horror elements that RJ put in the book (which are easy to gloss over when you're reading, I know I did until someone pointed it out). I'm not a horror/gore fan, but I appreciate that aspect of the story and I'm glad they're including it in the show. At some point I'm gonna need to go through frame by frame and look at eeeevvvvverything. Maybe I'll have @lezbinerdy on to do that with me!
Makes me hopeful. But, I was hopeful about S1, and was disappointed. The CG is looking better. Seanchan look bad ass bad. Turak especially. We shall see, but I'm hopeful, but cautious. I hope they go deeper in the OP learning for the white town....it can't be all "instinct" and every time some OP is needed to survive, "somehow" they weave the OP perfectly. That's one thing I REALLY hated hated about S01e08, and how the 5 untrained women destroyed a trolloc army. That was the worst.
S1 had a lot of things working against it in a way, but I enjoyed it for what it was. My understanding is that they got a bigger CG budget (plus more time!) and according to my sources (eg Naebs 😂) folks involved with the show are MUCH happier with how the visuals have turned out. As far as instinct goes, I'm fine with them leaning more into that for the purposes of the story, I'm not super attached to the nitty gritty of the way the magic system works, personally. Like, if they make the learning process focused more on safely controlling and strengthening what you can do on your own rather than learning how to do it at all, I'm fine with that. I think another piece of the puzzle is that on TV you have to *show*, not *tell*. And it's really hard to *show* power levels and potential. So it makes sense to me that they would indicate how gifted a person is with the OP by showing them doing things by instinct, or figuring them out on their own based on what they've learned so far. Making it about aptitude and speed of learning rather than this ephemeral concept of potential and whatnot, if that makes sense. I think that this would probably be more accessible to a non-reader audience, too. And that *is* something that we have to consider, even if we don't want to.
everything went so fast my face barely changed the whole video because I couldn't process fast enough!! I also wondered if it was Mat at the stone but I think it might be in the arid location we've seen a few times. Seems more like a gate getting blown up but idk!!
There was so much and it went so fast! It does look like a gate; I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that he might plant explosives at a door instead of a window, like that's not a super important detail IMO. But it definitely looks like an explosion to me, rather than a strike like what we saw from the damane in other parts of the trailer. I just cannot wait to see the whole thing!
