Poor Coco! I am a bird person but my mom is a cat person. Birds are extremely sensitive to airborne particles, so burning candles, cooking in Teflon pans, and using room fresheners is a huge no-no. When my mom's cat began having respiratory issues, I suggested she stop using the room freshener sprays that she adores and her kitty improved a lot in just a few days. Clearly, her kitty didn't have asthma, but I thought it might be a good reminder to all of us humans that our companion animals sense the world much differently and the things that we enjoy may be irritating for them.
I have asthma so I understand it does cost alot. I usually gets worse for me during winter time when it gets really cold. And if I run. I haven't had an attack in a few years but it does come. I hope it's not that bad for her.
Thank you for sharing! My 12 year old has always had a problem with hairballs. About three months ago he started doing the same thing you're describing and with his tongue sticking out. He has been to the vet 5-6 times in the last year after getting deathly ill and having all the tests. Come to find out he has an irritated and thickened intestine. I'm afraid he's somewhat sensitive to the candles I burn. Anyhow, we go back to the doctor in a week for a shot and exam and see if he needs his teeth cleaned this year. It all adds up, but he's absolutely worth it,!! 😻👍

Feel better, Coco! Kim, I have an inhaler I can send you if you’d like. Not sure if they vary as far as how much or what meds they contain but I’ll look. It’s a few years old but still good!
I looked up some videos on UA-cam. I think my cat Arthus has asthma too. He has coughed like that every since he was a kitten off and on. Recently he is doing it again. I'll have the vet check him out. He has to go in for his yearly next month. I hope your cat improves and it doesn't get worse over time. Thank you for this video its informative. I would definitely research pet insurance. I use to be a member of a rabbit forum some people has pet insurance but alot of people had bad experiences. One girl I knew said she just set money aside each month in a savings account just for vet related stuff. Those little cuties vet bills are crazy high. Heck we took our dog in for his shots came out spending almost 300. Kind of scared to see my bill next month when the cats go.
