    Great video, very thorough presentation. I've been considering one of these for a long time to remedy an intermittent at best cell signal at the ol' homestead. You answered most of my questions about how they work. Thanks very much for the well put together video.

    We just got back from a 4-day road trip from Summerton, SC to Amity, Arkansas to p/u a JR puppy, the trip there had a bunch of dead-spots.
    When we built our lake house we included 3 indoor antennas fed off a Wilson amp which provided at least a 3-bar boost. Aiming the outdoor antenna was the hardest part, but finally pointed it to the nearest cell tower (we didn't have a meter). I also have a Wilson booster in my p/u truck.

    Glad you went with the Wilson brand. When tweaking the outside antenna; pointing directly to the tower is not always the best signal. Signal waves are like waves in the water so pointing to reflection of a wave or to the side of the tower could improve your gains. Also the vertical or horizontal orientation of the antenna could wreak havoc on how much gain you achieve. most antennas are vertical or horizontal polarized and crossing them can create as much as -20db which is not good for business. I hope the tower you are pointed at is less than 30 miles away or the curvature of the earth along with other natural objects will interfere. These are just tidbits of info I have acquired from years of wireless LAN networking and bridging LAN's over wifi.

    That is a strong signal gain. Wilson IMO is the best booster for that use. I also run a booster, love it. You should be all set. If you set up the booster to have battery back up, you will never be without cell service. I bet if you played around with the pointing of that antenna you might get a stronger signal. Don't misunderstand me, you are getting a very strong signal. Download Speedtest app, that will give you your exact data speed. GREAT JOB‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸 PS, I think on your model you can add several extra internal antennas to put in different areas to give a stronger signal everywhere. One more thing, the taller your exterior antenna is, the better signal you will pick up, especially when your in a valley‼️

      Vinny, on of my views recommended an antenna rotor. It was a great idea I wish I had thought of before I put up the antenna. I dont like being up that high but I did pull wires in for one. I just have to work up the nerve to go back up and install one now.

    Works great a must have for those of us in the woods , put the power on a back up battery back up power supply, and you will still have communication during power interruptions

      @ArkansasHomesteader  5 років тому +1

      Or at least as long as the cell tower has batteries..... Unfortunately I have seen towers go dark too.... then you are just on your own. But the booster can't be expected to solve ALL the world's problems I guess! Lol

    Cool! We should have done something like that, we ended up playing musical carrier the first two years out here. But it's squared away now.

  • @mmanut
    @mmanut 3 роки тому

    Should be able to get LTE with that booster. If not a directional Antena pointed at your tower pulls In stronger signal. If that doesn't help try other Carriers. T-Mobile has become a great Carrier, I had Verizon for years, dropped them due to lousy data speeds. T-Mobile turned out to be the best Carrier in my area. You can try them for free and check them out. GOOD LUCK, Vinny 🇺🇸. PS, you can add extra interior antennas for better indoor signal strength.

    Very good explanation of the options and the installation but sheeesh, you gotta be an electronics engineer to solve Verizon's crummy service. Plus about $1,000 to fix the problem. I'm sick of seeing Verizon promote 5G service when us rural folks can't even get reliable 4G. And I'm only 4.5 miles from their tower and no ridges blocking direct line of sight.

    Great video. I’m considering the same equipment. I have a one story home and I was wanting to place the antenna on the chimney. My question is about the ground wire and lighting resistor. Where did you install yours and did you consider running the ground to a copper rod in the ground? Any help would appreciated. Any lessons learn would help as well. Thank you in advance

    Is it really worth it once you get wifi and can use wifi calling? Of course if power goes out you may lose wifi….but that money could go to a generator instead.

  • @sammax4245

    Can you use a Dish Satellite Internet ?This way you can use WI-Fi and you don't need Signal Booster to be able to make phone calls most phones have this option, I was in a house at New Hampshire rural area no cellular phone signal and I was able to make calls without any problem.
    (That's where WiFi calling can save the day. Instead of relying on the cellular phone network, WiFi calling and texting use an available WiFi network to place your call over the Internet. Clearly, if you don't have a cellular signal or it's spotty, the ability to make WiFi calls comes in handy)

    My understanding is that the 100 X booster does do only one carrier, But one has the ability to change to another carrier without buying another booster. Just works on one at a time so if you change carriers, just change settings on your booster. Then again, what the hell do I know

      No, my booster does 3g and 4g from all carriers, but no 5g. They may have one that does though, I dont think 5g was quite out when I bought mine.
