It worked for me. I went from 3 bars to one when ATT sold out to Verizon. I had a booster but it wasn’t much help. First I checked the frequency and yes it is compatible for both providers. I raised the antenna temporarily using a piece of pvc pipe higher above the metal roof. Instantly saw increased signal. Next step was to make a higher mast to get the best line of sight. Big boost! While rerouting the in cable I noticed great variations in reception. By placing the cable in the attic in several locations I found the best signal location. Note make sure this cable has no overlaps or even close proximity to the rest of the cable. It can parasite itself and cancel out.

Over the years I've used cellphones of various types and played around with passive boosters on the phones themselves,on vehicles, and on a house or two,I've noticed my need to boost signals is less than it used to be. I think phones are better and they do add towers still to this day both of which help alot of course. My current home happens to have a tower within about 1/2 mile so my now broken LG phone always had max signal, the lower level Samsung I replaced it with is only 2-3 bars on average,so phone ability matters too. I am absolutely convinced that powered units do have their good uses, like you showed here. I am also convinced that sometimes, some folks, might only need a lesser passive boost just to bump it up a bit and stabilize it for reliability. Off topic a bit- The absolute worst piece of crap phone signal-wise I owned was a Motorola StarTac(around year 2000),I finally got so frustrated with it I opened it and ran it over with my 96 Silverado 4x4 several times which didn't kill it! The cable runs down the up to the hole or connector in a U so water drips away and off the loop bottom. Hello Andrew Great Review. I got fed up with my Cable Provider last year and cancelled House Phone, Internet and TV and I was able to Get StarLink and Love it I am in Northern NJ and the Internet is on 24x7. I have the first Revision with the Round Dish and Attached Cable I see the Revision 2 it is a Square Dish with the Cable that can be removed from the dish which I like better because if you damage the cable you can just replace the cable not have to replace the entire dish. What I found interesting is being where I live we get that white stuff that falls from the sky (Snow). They updated my software in the winter and the dish actual has heaters in it that melts the snow, I thought that was cool. Love your House build looks like you are almost to the Finish Line and ready to move in.
I have a WeBoost and I was able to mount my indoor antenna many feet away from the booster. I don’t recall if I purchased additional coax for the indoor antenna.
I just got the att hotspot plan here in rural Michigan and it works great. The best part is by adding auto pay to my account which has 3 lines on it nocked $40 off my bill which makes my hotspot only $10 a month! Anyone with att needs to look into this.
Andrew I have to say you have a great attic space. Love how you have it lit up and you can walk around it with no problem. The house is looking great..
The diameter of a circle that is 1000 square feet is about 36 feet. So, if this box is correct, then it is good for almost 18 feet in each direction from the inside antenna. 1,500 feet only helps a little bit. It makes a reception/broadcast circle of almost 44 feet, or almost 22 feet from each direction from the inside unit. However, this might be fine.
I work on cell phones and i learned from where I work at right now when i get to work i have to turn airplane mode on and off to force it to switch towers and do the same when i get home. hope this helps you some.
I’d get home internet ugh. I live in the sticks and my signal here is -120dB or one bar and if my internet’s out there’s little chance I can use any data but I’ve had a booster like yours sitting in a box in the closet for years now so maybe I’ll put it in someday.
Hii,Kelly thanks a lot for the video, you made me choose this amplifier! I am from country Georgia and gonna have in Caucasus mountains where two GSM network companies are operating, both provides 4G 800 MHz (B20) would this booster work with this frequency? and second question please,as there is two company operating and we have little signal from both of them, can I choose the one I want to catch the signal from and boost it? or this amplifier does it for both signals at the same time or how this works? thanks a lot!
Great video! You can now have the weather channel on while you work instead of silence! Though I just keep looking at that wall where the stairs will eventually be...When I built my last stairs I just bought 2 2x12x16', cut out the risers and treads from a premade strip, braced the ground end, screwed in to the ledger board, leveled the treads and built a landing where it needed to go. Not a bit of math, but they turned out beautiful none the less. Dying to see how you build the right way, know I'll have to wait though... I could have used your info when I installed my weeboost decades ago. But trial and error also works :) LOVED the ending...Sorry the spray foam went wild on ya, been there done that! I kinda like getting it on my hands. After I'm done for the day sit and pick it off...But in hair? Yikes! I've ruined so many shirts and pants as well as shoes...You'd think I'd learn.."I'll be careful" doesn't work with spray foam!
Do you need a modem for this set up? Or do you just insert the sim card from cell service provider and you're good to go? Thank you for video and your time. Have a Goodin' !
My kit didn't come with the white box or two sets of cable but just the antenna and the black interior antenna/booster and a length of cable approximately 50' long.
If you have multiple cell towers near enough, it's possible to aim a directional antenna at each and use a combiner to improve download performance. I wouldn't exceed three antennas due to cost and the availability of 3-input combiners. In your particular case, an omnidirectional antenna mounted high enough to clear your local trees might be your best solution but would need lightning protection. Have you considered putting up a Rohn tower? 😉
Just personal experience, having installed a couple of these on our old ranch house with a metal roof (and almost no signal indoors), I found the WeBoost to be considerably superior product in terms of it's boost abilities. Perhaps others will have different experiences.
I love mine, but I am pleased with the results of this one as well. I am getting similar results as the Weboost that I have in my shop. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
Metal roofs are the best. When it rains here it is so soothing. Except all the flooding we are getting in Kentucky at the moment. I'm in a holler, I wonder if something like this would work here.
Just watched this episode on a Oculus VR headset on UA-cam VR app 😮 I swear I was standing in the loft with you, specs of white paint on your thumb, and Bullet barking in the house made me want to look behind me 😳 you’ve got to check that out sometime! LOL
Thanks for posting this review, and mentioning the apps used. I'm using them now to do some research before making a decision on a booster. We also live in a rural area and depend on T-Mobile's Home Internet Service for internet and we also use T-Mobile for our mobile phone service. There is only one location in our entire home where the home internet gateway (router) gets a decent signal and provides a fairly consistent 70Mbs download and 12Mbs upload. Since I work remotely from home, this is critical; and it has worked well for over 2 years, but our phone connections are always "iffy" at best, even with WiFi calling enabled. This seems like it would solve that annoyance and at the same time improve internet speeds.
@@grzegorz16100 I saw a video on UA-cam where a guy does a full, in-depth review of T-Mobile Home Internet service and hardware. He showed the speed he was getting via a wireless connection to the T-Mobile gateway/router vs a wired connection. The wired connection was much faster. When I saw that, I disabled the Wireless on my T-Mobile gateway/router and attached my own router, which provides wired connections for my home/office computers and also WiFi connections to our TVs, mobile devices, etc. If you have a PC that you can hook to one of the wired ports and do a speed test, I think you'll discover the same thing... wired is faster than wireless. Also, I'm using the old white T-Mobile router that is 4G. The new round grey ones with 5G don't work very well in my area.
Hey... The house is amazing! I'm surprised you haven't got starlink yet. I was on the list for starlink for a year and about 2 weeks .. I finally got the email that it was available to me in mid February 2022 and promptly ordered it. It was delivered about a week and a half later. I love it. Hopefully you are close to getting that same email. The sooner the better. One thing about starlink... they have gone up in monthly fee by $10. They say it's due to current inflation. Not a deal breaker for me... but good fyi for those that don't know.
It's also worth noting.. If you think you will need the Ethernet adapter, order it as soon as you are able. Basically order starlink... Then a few minutes later go on their shop page and order the Ethernet adapter. I did this and it took over a month to get the adapter.
@@TKCL. Another tip.. when you get your starlink and you are ready to permanently install it. If you are going to drill a hole in the wall for the cable to pass through and you want the smallest hole possible without cutting and splicing the cable...Drill a hole big enough for the dish end of the cable. A 3/4" hole is barely big enough if my memory serves. If you use the router end of the cable... It's a bigger hole... 1" hole might be big enough.
If you have any friends that get starlink before you.. you can always see if they will order it for you. I'd order it for you but being in Texas...it isn't much of a benefit being It'd have to be shipped to me and then to you.
Hey man..1st time viewer. Will Like & sub. Pretty sweet. Live in a single wide right now,but want to do a pole barn/self build asap. Got to get $ right before I can get started. Getting Close …Finally! L8r
Please excuse my simple questions as I am elderly, . So are using a cell phone booster off a cell phone tower to watch TV? Do you subscribe toTV service from the phone company? Are you also using the booster to use your cell phone? Do you no longer need a phone line line or TV cable subscription trew a cablr?
Best to amplify RF signals directly at the external antenna, yagi or dish and not after a length of cable.. Make a water tight box for the amp and mount it as close to the external antenna with a N to N connector. Should provide an additional 3-4 dB of gain
Hey Andrew I appreciate your video. I'm kind of bummed out though because you got the other antenna the second antenna and they don't offer that anymore for the price you got so I ended up paying $329. That's okay because I'm sick and tired crappy T-Mobile signal. I know it's been a year so that's probably why. Your affiliate link is gone. I noticed you said you were going to put the main unit in the Attic but for my understanding the signal radiates out the front of it so did you aim the front of it down so that it comes into your house?
I recently moved into the basement unit of a house with concrete floors and only get one or two bars when inside. If I step outside I can get 5g. Looks like I need to get a booster.
Wow 5 bars! now you just need long range outdoor WiFi coverage on your land and you will be all set! This product will give you a .. 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi hotspot on the 2.4GHz band powered by a 1-watt booster, the Wi-Fi signal covers up to ~300 yards in open space. Connect up to 57 Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the internet, such as computers, TVs, cameras, doorbells, etc. Up to 300 MB down 50 MB up even on your phone Search, USA Outdoor 4G Cellular Router Cat6 Dual-SIM
Only issue I see is the Sim to use. I don't think my phone Sim will work and no one offers truly unlimited data sims it seems. My visible phone Sim has never been throttled.
@@TKCL . The thing is, there is no scenario where the cell phone is going anywhere, no matter what type of fixed residential service you or anyone selects to use. If you're streaming heavy video you can Still tether from your phone but other than binge-watching UA-cam or Netflix you'll never reach the limit of 100 gigs in a month, no way imho.
@@TKCL @The Kelley's Country Life . Look uppp.. "attt Prepaid Mobile Hotspot 100GB Direct Top Up" To see the sim for sale by Walton and also to reload after purchase. Btw, they lasts for 3 months each, so you could hypothetically use as little as four of them for a whole year to get 400 gigs for only $220 for a whole year to run ALL of your lower non streaming bandwidth needs instead of the $1320 satellite option.
@@TKCL If that's accurate it would be equal to 100 hours of video per month. HD video @1080P is ~50 Meg per minute. - 300 GB = 300,000 Meg - 300,000 / 50 = 6000 minutes - 6000 / 60 = 100 hours of video per month - 100 hours/ 30 days a month Would be ~3.3 hours every day of the month. But, You do ~3 vids a week max @ ~20 mins 60 mins x 50 Meg = 3Gig 1 live stream ~ 60 mins x 50 Meg = 3Gig 6 Gig a week x 2 for Facebook = ~12 Gig a week = ~ 50 Gig a month Total ? Are you using any cloud storage for the raw video files also?
@@TKCL I laughed at the blooper at the end the MOST! it was awesome. I'm going to check out your other videos today. Also - just ordered the Hiboost using your affiliates link! I appreciate you.
I have something similar to this. My bars have significantly gone up after installation, but my cell service is not always reliable. My question is, I've seen your cellular router internet videos. Would I encounter the same issues since it's a similar setup? My signal strength before and after the signal booster is very poor. Anywhere between 109-119 dBm as of now. My outdoor antenna is aimed close to a cell tower with a tree in the way though.
I wouldn’t mount it at the peak of the roof. You don’t want the two to feedback. I would do a ceiling penetration and install it like a smoke alarm in the hallway next to the kitchen, in front of the pantry. Without that separation you might not get good performance. Even though it says 80’degrees in front, it still spills a little behind it. It’ll cover your attic den.
@@TKCL somewhat? It’s not sharp like a laser. In our office building we have a central rack mounted cell repeater and 6 of those indoor antennas identical to yours. They’re mounted to drop tile ceiling tiles every 80 feet. Phenomenal coverage. A yagi antenna is focused, but that indoor antenna doesn’t have a high gain, therefore it’s much less directed than you think. I install networking and wireless ISP equipment for work for about a decade
Andrew would the “future invisible stairwell to the loft” run from the outside wall to the center ish of the loft following the angle of the roof -or - center of room to the edge of the loft ? Leaving a dead spot behind stairs to outside wall
Is it ok to add an auto timer to turn the booster on only during the day as no1 will be at the basement office to use it at night, if it helps prolong the life of the booster.
I'm looking for the best options for my old Japanese house in the country. Currently, the only way I can get cell signal is to go outside, away from the house. The original thatched roof is still on it, but it is also covered by a copper roof. The signal is absolutely killed indoors!

Make sure you watch my newest video, their new system works even better. ua-cam.com/video/LZ9KL1O_reI/v-deo.html
great video ty how tall are you?door & ceiling are small to you.
Great video Andrew. Thanks for sharing all the info. By the way, the house is looking great. Y'all take care and God Bless.
Thank you very much, God bless!
I’d get home internet ugh. I live in the sticks and my signal here is -120dB or one bar and if my internet’s out there’s little chance I can use any data but I’ve had a booster like yours sitting in a box in the closet for years now so maybe I’ll put it in someday.
The first thing I thought when the video started was DAMN that kitchen :O
I think it is lovely but too big. I do love those cupboards though
Lol that stuff wasn't coming out for nothing!
Good info! Laughed when I saw the spray foam in your beard, sorry, not sorry. 😁
Lol
Yeah I just build a new house and put a metal roof on it and now my cell service is down to one and two bars I definitely need something
Made a big difference for me.
Do you need a modem for this set up? Or do you just insert the sim card from cell service provider and you're good to go? Thank you for video and your time. Have a Goodin' !
Neither, this boosts available signal as is. No Sim or anything else needed.
I like my Wilson cell booster. It works great!
I've heard good things about that company.
And they're also very expensive.
My kit didn't come with the white box or two sets of cable but just the antenna and the black interior antenna/booster and a length of cable approximately 50' long.
Interesting, almost sounds like the Weboost kit instead of the Hiboost.
Thank You!!!! EXCELLENT video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for a very informative video!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Interesting video. Cell towers polarize ar 45 degrees from vertical. You might improve signal by tilting the antenna.
Thanks all of this apps are useful when i buy network signal booster I will use them❤
Thanks for making this video!
Your welcome
Holy cow batman, 265,000 views!! Waaaahooo 🥳 Congrats! Fyi... I'm watching all of your videos in order from the beginning.
Awesome! Thank you for watching so much content.
Excellent tutorial!
Much appreciated. I ordered one.
Enjoy, I hope it works as well for you as it has for us.
hand lotion to take off spay foam it takes some time but it works vary well.
Thanks
Can the booster unit, interfere with the indoor antenna, as regards physical placement of both?
Not sure to be honest, the paperwork did come with recommended installation and pointing of antennas.
I'm satisfied with our current signal, a tower is more work than it's worth for my particular situation.
Where do you get a combiner? All I saw was one that does lower spectrum and higher spectrum
You do a great job creating content!
Thank you
Just personal experience, having installed a couple of these on our old ranch house with a metal roof (and almost no signal indoors), I found the WeBoost to be considerably superior product in terms of it's boost abilities.
Those hills definitely block signal. Stay safe!
Thank you! Great job.
Thank you for watching
Who's just here waiting for him to say that download speed
This is more for phone signal and dropped calls than data speeds.
@6:15
I have a hunch that the closer cell phone tower (1.5 miles away) has directional antennas - and not aimed towards you.
That's correct, cellmapper.net shows that.
Great review i have that same antenna for my cell camera on the pig trap...
Nice!
Just watched this episode on a Oculus VR headset on UA-cam VR app 😮 I swear I was standing in the loft with you, specs of white paint on your thumb, and Bullet barking in the house made me want to look behind me 😳 you’ve got to check that out sometime! LOL
Say what? I didn't realize UA-cam offered something like that!
The headset is Oculus Quest 2
Your welcome, thanks for watching
In your case WiFi calling is not going to help you as your internet is using the same thing. Booster is only way to help.
70mbs?! I have 30 and its great.
I've got that spray foam on me and it just drives me crazy growl Raw
I've never got it everywhere like that! It's there to stay sadly!
I'll gladly pay the increase if it's as promised.
It's also worth noting.. If you think you will need the Ethernet adapter, order it as soon as you are able. Basically order starlink... Then a few minutes later go on their shop page and order the Ethernet adapter. I did this and it took over a month to get the adapter.
I see they are back ordered, I tried to order the adapter and the mounting pole. They won't let me order until they ship out my dish.
What if I have full bars but slow internet. Should I use it.
Hey man..1st time viewer. Will Like & sub. Me & my daughter live on a little piece of heaven on earth my grandmother left me in her will. 20 ish acres with 2 of the property lines being small creeks that merge at the corner of the property. Pretty sweet. Live in a single wide right now,but want to do a pole barn/self build asap. Got to get $ right before I can get started. Getting Close …Finally!

Best of luck!
I really enjoyed this.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you
Hey Andrew I appreciate your video.
I've noticed no matter how I aimed it indoors it still covers the entire house.
Up to 300 MB down 50 MB up even on your phone

Only issue I see is the Sim to use. I don't think my phone Sim will work and no one offers truly unlimited data sims it seems. My visible phone Sim has never been throttled.

"attt Prepaid Mobile Hotspot 100GB Direct Top Up"
To see the sim for sale by Walton and also to reload after purchase. Btw, they lasts for 3 months each, so you could hypothetically use as little as four of them for a whole year to get
400 gigs for only $220 for a whole year to run ALL of your lower non streaming bandwidth needs instead of the $1320 satellite option.
I do 300+ gigs a month because of all the UA-cam and Facebook video uploading.
@@TKCL
If that's accurate it would be equal to 100 hours of video per month.
HD video @1080P is ~50 Meg per minute.
- 300 GB = 300,000 Meg
- 300,000 / 50 = 6000 minutes
- 6000 / 60 = 100 hours of video per month
- 100 hours/ 30 days a month
Would be ~3.3 hours every day of the month.
But,
You do ~3 vids a week max @ ~20 mins
60 mins x 50 Meg = 3Gig
1 live stream ~ 60 mins x 50 Meg = 3Gig
6 Gig a week x 2 for Facebook = ~12 Gig a week = ~ 50 Gig a month Total ?
Are you using any cloud storage for the raw video files also?
thank you VERY MUCH! I needed this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Not in my case, but I run very nice 4x4 antennas for my cellular router.
@@TKCL Thanks for replying. Hope all is well down in your way during this time.
Very busy with cleanup, but doing well. Thanks!
If I do ceiling mount, it'll be firing down and not out.
Thanks for your information…
Andrew would the “future invisible stairwell to the loft” run from the outside wall to the center ish of the loft following the angle of the roof -or - center of room to the edge of the loft ? Leaving a dead spot behind stairs to outside wall
Outside wall to center
Did you get a signal strength reading before installing this booster?
Yes, from 1-2 bars to 4-5.
Is it ok to add an auto timer to turn the booster on only during the day as no1 will be at the basement office to use it at night, if it helps prolong the life of the booster.
You can do that, but I'm not sure it will make a difference.
Great video thank you
I'm looking for the best options for my old Japanese house in the country. Currently, the only way I can get cell signal is to go outside, away from the house. The original thatched roof is still on it, but it is also covered by a copper roof. The signal is absolutely killed indoors!
That's where these devices shine, they bring that signal from outside to indoors.
