im glad that it removes the part of KoT that i like least, that is the strategy of just ignoring everyone else and just trying to roll numbers. may actually look into this one
My kids are video gamers getting into board games and I have no idea why but they don't like King of Tokyo much. Weird! We never get it to the table bc they don't like it.
Boardgame Fan Girl If they like RPGs, then you might want to look into dungeon crawlers. Depending on their age Mice & Mystics or a D&D Adventure System game (e.g.; Drizzt) might be a good match. If they're into strategy games, then Small World might be a good option. Think of something like Risk, but it plays in about an hour and is fun.
VaultBoy I think MICE & M is too $$. Small World has been on my list for a while. But recently watched someone on Board Game Bfast say they didn't like it which surprised me. Thanks!
Hm. It looks neat but not sure I'm sold. I feel like KoT/KoNY gives you more choices at any given moment. The choices in this game don't seem to be as varied or impactful. This is one I'd have to try before I buy.
lufia22 My thoughts exactly. Also 66 dollars is a very steep price point for this kind of gameplay. I understand the minis are prepainted and of great quality, but a cheaper standee version would win me over more quickly. Dunno.
DTM ? Adrenaline I'd an area control Euro style game. absolutely nothing in common. I guess if you count robots as the connection...This game is total King of Tokyo dice chucking.
Glad you enjoyed, Tom! We are really excited with the early reception!
Thank you for your kind review, Tom!
Congrats Romulo and Fel!
Thank you!
I'm gonna have to look into this. The gameplay looks fun and the robots look great. I might need to buy a copy.
Seems like a combination of KoT and Adrenaline. I'll probably get it. Great review as normal Tom.
Which one you think is better between this one, KoT and Adrenaline, and why?
CMON has published an errata for players' aids
The main problem with king of Tokyo is it's playable at least with 4
I love that the game has nice minis like King of Tokyo should have had.
Gamera 23 minis just jack up the price, minis should be a separate purchase.
I hope to see you play this with Zee and Sam sometime :)

I'm very curious to know where I can get it... I'm from Canada
It's on Boardgame Bliss right now.
I think King of Tokyo's more portable footprint makes it more enticing to a casual audience. Definitely on my radar next pay.

There are a wide variety of video game just like there are board games. What video games do they play?

Boardgame Fan Girl fwiw I'm not a fan of Smallworld either. I'll play it if people want to though.

Hold up, Tom kept Assault of the Giants?!
He should have, its a good game.
This needs a Kickstarter run by CMON.
What about comparing it to Adrenaline?
DTM it's nothing like Adrenaline. I don't see how you can even compare it.
That is fine if you cannot see it...

Very interesting...
cool models, wish king of tokyo had something like these. game looks cool. thank for the review

It is we in the tape!
I'm kind of disappointed the cards don't have art on them.
