The thing that really got me was that you rank up pull, push and slow as well as your immense sabre skills but you know fine well you should easily be able to use other force powers such as mind trick but you can't, it's anti lore, anti force and lazy from remedy. They did it 17 years ago, do it now ffs.
you mean respawn right?
Worth A Buy honestly I just want a game from the empires perspective. That or the sith. Disney is far too “safe” though. They teach us everything is black and white. “Empire bad terrorist rebels good. “
Disney Star Wars is for people who want a short “feel good” experience where the “good guys” always win. I use quotes around good guys because the rebels killed millions and millions of people, not to mention committed multiple war crimes. Beyond that when they took the helm they obliterated all the lore, leaving everything but the main movies as “legends”. I could go on forever but I believe that Star Wars is in its death throes for the most part. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt we will ever see a game as good as jedi outcast, battlefront, or any of the other classics ever again. Disney and EA have crucified our childhoods in the name of greed.
Looks pretty dumb to be honest
Worth a buy - I am glad someone else feels the same way
I bloody hated this game
Mac pls don't be like everyone else. Rey didn't become a Jedi. And if your saying Disney implied it when she survive a fight with Kylo in the first one, then keep in mind that guy was wounded from a wookie blaster(which honestly means he should of died let alone be able to walk in pain)
You can pull, you can push, you can slow... that's not a Jedi, that's a construction worker.
Well, I mean wasn't Cal kind of a construction worker, before Cere found him?
@@tas7606 Ugh, why is there always at least one attention seeking chap trying to make a thing that is already funny either unfunny or yet funnier by adding a lame comment?
But what bugs me even more: Why do you ... _'mean'_ ? You meant what without even having said anything before? Yah, exactly nothing. Hence, there is nothing to explain what you mean by that. Just say it first. Then say it again to say what you mean. What a stupid sentence.
It's strange, I expected a horrible EA game but wanted a successor to Jedi Academy or Dark Forces, I got neither but what I did get was quite good fun, it scratches the Jedi light saber combat itch but leaves us oldies that yearn for a modern Jedi Academy kind of disappointed. I think this is a safe buy for most SW fans providing you don't mind the usual bullshit AAA trash that just seems to plague the movie industry and modern games. It has decent combat, replay-ability and a super cute droid :)
The stuttering and hitching is caused by the Origin Overlay and Cloud Saves. Turning those off fixed it for me and it runs beautifully at 1440p on a GTX 1080.
£35 price helps me forgive them
I think i go for death stranding over this.
erwin coplo death stranding looks weird and boring 😂
Oh man what i'd give for a new jedi academy
it bugs me that the lightsaber clips through the floor every time the character runs
I noticed that last night when I played. They could have at least made streaks in the floor if they didn't feel like fixing it.
And through door ways.
It's lazy design and animation because a Jedi would treat his sabre more carefully, ie he wouldn't run with it close to the floor
What self respecting jedi would run with his lightsaber out when not fighting anyways? Thats right, they dont
JustTheTop I do! Looks cool af!
I do agree with you that there are very less force powers here. I was expecting to feel like a Jedi master, but i guess in this game Cal is not even a Jedi knight but only a padavan. So i hope in the second game they offer lot more force powers and abilities.
That's what I am hoping for too!
Terminator Review up next then am taking a few days off as am wrecked :)
Take a much needed break Mack!
But what about halo? Dont take to long:P
And point phoenix
houdini abracadabra December, plenty of days for rest
I hope you play some Disco Elysium during that brake, wink wink nudge nudge :)
The console influence is strong with this one.
Par for the course in 2019. If it exists, it's probably a console port.
Yes agreed sadly.
I'm sure they could added more abilities, do like a scroll wheel similar to what red dead had? Never played red dead on console but on pc, all your stuff you have to access through a wheel of options, sure they could have done something like that, hold a button down and use the thumbstick things to select the ability.
If it wasn't for consoles you'd not be getting this in the first place.
@Eternal I mean we are right though, love us or hate us the reason the menu is botched is because it was designed for consoles.
“Lore means nothing anymore” Sums up Disney SW crap. Shame it’s not a successor to Jedi academy, with all the advancements in technology we could have a SW masterpiece.
I think its way better than Jedi Academy.
@Bill Hill They're a company that mainly made First Person shooters, and ones with fairly big skill ceilings at that. Give them time to adapt, this is new grounds for them.
@@Manglet762 Yeah, they made Apex Legends. They're new to 3rd person Star Wars games.
"we haven't had a good lightsaber game" my dude the story may have been shit BUT as a kid I had so much fun in the force unleashed in like 2009
Story was pretty good I thought but I agree. Slicing troopers and rebels was great
The best part of tfu was the force tho
The running animation in this game is hilarious.
It's an homage to mass effect andramada XD
He's too lanky, it looks like he's trying to run through water
Jedi doesnt need ankles you know?
Dude, it looks like he's dropped a duece in a diaper lol
YES! who runs like that ffs?! 🤣
I long for a new Jedi Academy game or Kotor, will we ever get one at this rate? Games should get better over time not worse :\
I’m confident there will be another Star Wars RPG in the future. Maybe. Idk.
How long can they ignore everyone’s love for KotOR and how everyone is begging to give away their money for a new one?
Games got worse because we as consumers and not by developers, the games are shaped as image of their gamers. If we buy bad games you will encourage more games like that,. Understand the companies are not evil , they only want money. We the consumer the majority decides how the game will be by the number of sales. Don’t want poop games don’t buy even on discount. The consumer always is right , even if they not. Basic economics.
I also crave for a new kotor, just not one made by bioware they've proved that they dont have what it takes to make a good story any more.
@@aithemed I think a lot of people just dont mind trash games anymore. People who havent played proper classic games like Jedi Academy, Jedi Outcast 2, Portal, Half life 2, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Etc... . Games that are truly immersive. They started off on triple AAA trash like Star Wars Battlefront. They just want to mindlessly spam buttons and pew pew. I really do hope that games get back to their origins though, like we could make some really dope games with the technology we have now, games that you could never put down lol. We will see I suppose.
Theres still a decent amount of really good games being made. Just not by Actibilzzard EAsoft. Its the medium sized developers that mostly create the quality content these days.
I have almost no hope of a good game made from the Star Wars IP though. Even if Disney ever figures out what quality entertainment looks like, something they currently wouldn't recognize even if it had a bright neon pink label stuck on it, EA has no idea at all how to write an interesting story or create characters with actual depth. Bioware sure as hell couldn't pull off a proper KotoR anymore at least.
I always appreciate your reviews. Thanks for your continued honesty
Jedis dont force choke or use lighting... and only highly skilled Jedi’s can use mind trick. Force chokes and lightning is a dark side power...
Jedi Academy had those powers. You could stick to the lightside powers if you wanted, but you weren't forced into a pure lightside playthrough. Of course this required writing a nuanced story as well; clearly not something EA or Disney wants to do.
@@WildIdiot Is that canon though? I know that they said this game and it's story is considered canon (after the Disney purge a lot of the old stuff is gone)
@@klovasoszenovka Honestly, who cares what Disney says is canon anymore? Academy tells a better story that's more respectful to the lore than the new movies regardless of it's canonicity.
Anyway, the point is that the lightning and choke force powers are obviously canon and there's nothing stopping a Jedi from using them besides their own morals. I could cite Anakin in the Prequels or Clone Wars if you want a "canon" example.
@@WildIdiot Lore means absolutely NOTHING without canonicty. Without canon you can't have continuity.
@@klovasoszenovka Canonicity has nothing to do with continuity; it just tells us that the Disney execs felt like it was worth keeping. The new films have hardly any continuity with each other let alone the OT despite being "canon". They're even bringing back Palpatine. My god what a mess.
What's with the main char's animation? He runs around looking like he shat himself.

Ilsy de he probably did. Most likely the same animators as “Ass effect: stoleyourmoney lol”

@@Re-Todd_Howard EPIC !
I knew you would be realistic. Soon as 9/10 and 10/10 reviews start dropping I just can tell it is not.
Yeah the review scene is a total mess, the mainstream reviews are supposed to be the pros and people like me hobbyists, lol they are bloody shite across the board, any half decent game is like 10/10 GOTY etc etc
It's more like a 7/8 dependent on whether you like these types of games.
@@Pand0rasAct0r_ Nah mate, 5/7.. perfect score
Worth A Buy what do you rate the game? An 8?
My favourite review site gave it 3/5, and of course then they get blasted for scoring it too low instead lmao.
This New season of shameless looks good
This is the weirdest gay porn I’ve ever seen
I love you Mack, thank you for yet another amazing review!
I'm just under 2 hours in and was really underwhelmed by the experience so far, so thought I'd check out your thoughts and opinions before I refunded it, just in case it's another one of them where "but you have to play it for 15 hours before it gets good!!"
Might pick it up again if it's ever on a crazy good offer, but not worth £55 unfortunately!
Dark Forces/Jedi Knight was one of my favorite series. It's a shame how Raven are just a support studio for CoD nowadays.
Mack, the "then I'll tell you what I think," in the beginning was a subtle, but very very nice touch
Good review. I really love this game but agree with your point about some of the slides and jumps. I agree that you don’t feel uber powerful but i think that works well in this context. this is a padwan who fled when he was about 10 and has been in hiding ever since it would be wrong if he was a walking god. I think it adds to the immersion and sense of dread that the inquisition are hard as nails and each one can easily end you. I was genuinely bricking it when I heard they had tracked me down
@0:35 Yo, mutton chops, take it easy on the salt. 😂
Thank you for spotting that! :D
Great content Mack. Thank you for the laughs as always
Thanks for the honest review. Sounds like something I'll enjoy quite a bit to be honest. Bit scared about the 1440p stutters. Either a Christmas sale purchase or wait for it to be on origin access, but it's high up on my "to play for sure" list! Cheers mack!
Doesn't stutter at all for me. I love the game. If you are a Tomb Raider / Uncharted fan you will love it. The lightsaber combat is also very fun.
I always watch Mack's reviews first, as just like I only read bad reviews on Amazon, they tell me exactly what I NEED to know before parting with my hard earned cash. Thanks Mack!
I'd pull full price for a remaster/remake of the Jedi Academy and/or Dark Forces series.
Dunno if that's possible without completely redoing everything. And if you're gonna do that, you might as well make a sequel.
Now do a review on Terminator: Resistance You'll need a truck load of bells for that one.
i hope he will, just for det LOL content :D
But it's doing well on steam, is it shit, noooooooo am actually looking forward to playing it tomorrow.
Worth A Buy love your reviews Mack. You’re the only reviewer I trust these days, everyone else is a shill.
Why? So far they say is a good game
im seen the footage and it looks terrible, I don't understand the positive ratings on Steam at all
What are the soundtracks you use at the intro and outro of your videos? I really like them and would like to buy them.
I can never predict if Mack is gonna like a game or not.
Sings of a honest critic...and trust me i dont always agree with the bastard but he has my full respect no B.S.
@@freemansaquatics5326 Honest doesn't equal good, though. There are a bunch of games he simply doesn't understand, or passes judgement way too quickly on them. And at other times, I get the impression his judgement simply depends on his mood. He's honest, yeah. But he's also way too erratic, and not very fair or objective.
@@clauricaune Tell me about a single objective critic. Bet you can't.
@@Nekrumorfiini1 Unlike Mack, some at least try. But come on, just admit you're here to watch Mack yell at AAA publishers, get all worked up over small details or megahyperbolize the stuff he does like.
@@clauricaune Look just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right
I’m playing on PS4 Pro and have performance mode on, I love the game it’s super fun and I’m liking the story but I get drops to 20 from 60fps it’s never stable so it’s across all platforms
Same here on ps4. If you turn off reporting to ea in the settings that may help. You'd think they would have this sort of thing ironed out before release. Not so in 2019.
Same with the PS4 ...it freezes for me aswell or landmarks don’t load in
The hitching and small freezing is symptomatic across all platforms I believe. Even high end PCs like Macks that should be spitting the game out of their arse are dropping frames like an epileptic pensioner.
Use the other mode, it's constant 30fps....I/O issues are going to happen no matter what. That'll be a series of patches probably when no one is playing it anymore.
Best £0.65p I have ever spent. I spent 55 playtime hours and finished the game on Jedi Grand Master with 98% completion and I have to say this game is incredible. I cannot wait for the sequel. On Jedi Grand Master difficulty, you truly feel like a Padawan who just became a Jedi. This is the whole point of the game. The sequel of course will open up more force powers. For a studio like Respawn to make such a good Star Wars game, they deserve massive kudos. Of course the game has some flaws but a pretty damn impressive first attempt in my opinion.
65p?

Thanks Mac, I'll wait for a sale for this one. Great review, keep 'em comin' mate
Really appreciate your honest review on this one. Gonna wait for a price drop before buying!
Bought for 20 on stadia
Im playing on 4k, 2080ti at 60 fps constantly. Drops to around 55 when many particles on screen. (like the *SPOILER* train scene in the first hour of the game).
I'm running on 2k with 1070 at around the same fps. Hardly notice any frame drops except when sliding down those ridiculous slides.
For that money 120fps/144fps should be a bare fucking minimum tbh. Still disgusted at how shite of a port RDR2 is.
@@pieterlindeque7798 ikr. most games nowadays are just console ports
@@BugaLuis Becuase consoles are made for games lmao, PCs are made for using Microsoft excel
I hv a 2070 (non-super) and it runs just fine (over 60) on high, only a second of stuttering very occasionally when loading in a new area
I know this video is very old, but Did you have any bugs? I've had a couple, such as being stuck in the stance for Double saber blocking & unable to attack or parry, or anything, and the fairly frequent bug where the game just outright ignores the mouse button inputs. I also found a funny Out of Bounds bug where I fell through the level & landed on top of the Level, and was walking on the level for awhile
Most anticipated review this year! Thanks Mac
"Lore means nothing no more" i felt that in my soul
Right after he quotes the lore of the game wrong.
@Billy Magada Was going to say the same thing. Both of the early times he brings up lore he's wrong.
First, Cal doesn't learn the force really quickly, he already knows it as he's an apprentice. He just has to recover the memories of how because he's hidden them for 5 years.
Second, he says you don't get to use lightning and choke. Jedi don't use those powers.
He says they don't they give a fuck about lore. Neither does Mack.
@@lwaves Well it depends. Kyle Katarn, Jaden Korr, Mara Jade all used Force Lightning and Force Choke in the games they are featured in. There is also the Kotor games.
Even Luke shot lightning use it in the old canon and i think Plo Kloon using a variant of Force Lightning is still canon.
The point is having the ability to utilize both Light and Darkside abilties are a staple in other StarWars games. Gameplay wise it offered a lot more tools for the player to utilize giving varied approaches to a situation.
And as the drunk british man said, it can get boring just pushing and pulling in a 20 hour game.
@chocoman45 I agree that it can add variety to a game, no objection there but that isn't the point being made. AFAIK, those games aren't part of canon (even ignoring Disney's wipe) therefore it isn't part of lore.
When did Luke use lightning? If it didn't happen in the movies or official
TV shows it doesn't count and I don't recall it happening in the movies. He deflected some of the Emperor's bolts but nothing more. I can't speak for the EU stuff as I never really got into it but Plo Koon is a Jedi Master, very different to Cal, and even you say he used a 'variant', which doesn't make it seem like the same thing. As I say though, I don't know on that bit and it's still only one or maybe two Jedi out of how many?
Even if both Plo Koon and Luke used lightning, you also have to take into account that Cal is still a padawan, a five years out of practice padawan. To give him higher end powers like lightning and mind powers would be ridiculous at this point. It would go against the very lore that's being called into question. If they add it later on, assuming sequels happen, then it could be a different case but right now, it's right not to have those powers.
@trueshadow64 Absolutely. The powers mentioned earlier were simply the ones Nack brought up, so that's why I stuck to them. Also FYI, force push and lightsaber throw are already in the game.
I love your reviews 😉 the thing you said about the hippo! Killed me lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I miss Jedi Knight games 😭 Jedi academy was the most fun and Jedi outcast was the best story. Why is it so hard to make a fun star wars game.
Cal is an apprentice so guess thats the reasoning for having not much in the way of force powers. Your not a fully fledged Jedi knight, let alone a master.
Justifying it doesn't make it a fun mechanic. So if that was the actual reason for the lack of interesting powers they probably should have looked at the story again.
@@ThysiosX unless their goal wasn't to make you feel like an all-powerful Jedi but an apprentice on the run from an all-powerful unrelenting force barely scraping by. In which case they achieved their goal and there would be no point in reevaluating everything because they would have made the game they wanted to make.
@@tinymanjones3119 So, they made a Star Wars game, where you play as a Jedi, but you never really feel like a Jedi. That doesn't sound like fun to me.
@@thepunchableface1506 you feel like a jedi and you get more abilities than mac was leading on but you don't feel like your force unleashed levels of overpowered. You feel more like a jedi from the films (not the new ones) so while you can dispatch enemies like stormtroopers with no problem these larger creatures still pose a problem for you.
@@thepunchableface1506 they chose the worse seting again, original trilogy sucks, Disney made it suck, I would rather a game set in the clone wars where you play as a full fledge jedi completing mission for the jedi order, even living thru order 66? Way better than the same old shit over and over again
I’m playing on Grand Master and it’s just Dark Souls Star Wars.
It’s alright, it’s not a power trip but Respawn always said it wasn’t going to be.
I don’t really know what you were expecting Mack?
+Matt
Yeah! I think he's been very harsh here! He first said it was silly being a powerful Jedi too quickly which is a negative, then later on he states that you are not overpowered which is another negative thing. But they both contradict each other.
The story is of a padawan who needed to re-remember his force powers, so he will learn the basics quickly, but won't be better than he was before Order 66.
Currently playing it and it's what I expected and wanted it to be from when I first saw it. I'm enjoying it very much!
RuddsReels, You might not agree with me but I really liked the level design. It went really well with the holomap. Speaking of the holomap, that was an incredible part of the exploration. It helped you a bit but it allowed you to explore everything on your own, and each of the 5 planets are all wildly different so you are getting a new experience every planet you go to.
That’s just me though, everyone has their unique opinions that you have to take into account like his.
Thanks Mac I'm glad I waited for your review. I'll pick it up on sale.
I've had no problems running it at its max graphical settings with 144 fps(highest hz the game offers) on 1080p with a 2080 super and i7-9700k, there is some random stuttering in big action areas, but smooth over all. Slight overclock on cpu and gpu.
I mean, the settings _are_ labeled "Epic." Does the "High" setting run alright at 1440p?
Remember when PC gaming was about having insane graphics that would be somewhat meant for future hardware?
These days you basically play PC for fps and not for graphics. Sure these console ports look better on PC, but it's so marginal compared to how it used to be if we're being dead honestly with ourselves. Whereas PC Ultra used to blow everything away, these days it's more like a 20% overall increase in visual fidelity if that. You have hardware 4 times as powerful and 5 times as expensive that puts out a result not even close to looking even one third better than a console on Ultra while tanking performance. That's not the fault of the hardware, that's the fault of the entire development process of modern video game focusing so heavily on console above all else. Doesn't matter how expensive your rifle is if you can only load it with shitty low grain, hand-pressed rounds.
I get 165 fps on 1440p epic settings with minor stutters when the game first starts up but runs smooth as butter for the rest of the time I play it.
@@IsItFunorNot looking at the sky and getting 165 fps once doesnt mean thats what you get all the time ffs, people like you are so misleading its really fucking annoying.
I mean he has been training to be a Jedi since the day he was born so that’s why he’s got some skill with the sabre and the force
Mack, the video settings showed many things on "Epic". If you indeed played with these settings then it might be normal that it stutters. These settings could be intended for future hardware.
Hey Mack, it would be fantastic to know your opinion of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.

Hey Mack. I have a 1080 FE running epic at 1440p and I didn't have one stutter? I have a 4.5 I7 and 32gb of ram as well. Strange. Agree totally for the rest of the review though. Thanks for always being real!
Thx for the review, I will wait and maybe buy it when it is in promotion.
Star Wars: Shadow of the Jedi Raider
Star Souls?
I actually really like that its a bit like DarkSouls and TombRaider (and a bit like Metroidvania). I mean it justmakes sense in singleplayer games. What are the alternatives - lets see: classic linear level design with hundreds of scripted events and nothing to explore like CoD? Meh.
Or open World bullshit with 100 hours of boring nonsense. No, please, no.
Or you could make it like a RPG but thats just not what it is. Its an Action Adventure game.
I think that DarkSouls/TombRaider level design combines the best of both. It's perfect for story focussed, cineastic Singleplayer games but makes the game fun enough to play because you can explore the levels, find stuff and master the combat. I'm sure in the future we will see more games like this.
What Mack doesn't mention though is the thing critics often slag games for, this game avoids - ie pretty much everything is up to you - swinging and grabbing vines is down to timing, there's none of this auto lock on / auto grab nonsense. Any ledge or edge can be fallen off, no invisible walls stopping you. So while there are elements of modern Tomb Raider here, its definitely not as hand holdy as those games are.
Best game I've played this year. Visuals are great, combat is fun and the story is brilliant. Like tomb raider/uncharted meets Star Wars. No monetization. Plenty of puzzles and replayability.
Lastly the reason you don't feel super powerful is explained in the story if you pay attention. Cal was a young Padawan when order 66 was executed. He didn't finish his training and didn't train for years because he was in hiding. The reason you also don't have all the powers in the films is because the Jedi and Sith don't know all abilities. His ability to do force echoes is an ability few have access to, this is also explained in the story. He isn't a fully trained Jedi.
Did you even watch the cut scenes? From your video it doesn't sound like it.
I agree and feel that the level of power provided is balanced and explained well. You are not Starkiller, you are a ginger boy who gets tingles from the force. Whats the fun in giving everyone chain lighting and force choke, no matter who they are.If the jedi were god tier they would have not gotten deleted by order 66.
@@user-go7yw3yr3y exactly, it's a nice pace for a character who wasn't fully trained. While previous games with those god tier powers are fun it is great to play a Padawan.
My GOTY was supposed to be doom eternal but since that got delayed I chose this one because of the points you listed
Imagine if you didn't have saber throw unlocked early on in Jedi Academy? Rosh Penin would still be stuck on the other side as you wouldn't have been able to "use your lightsaber to cut that tree down to make a bridge".
I noticed you have the orange lightsabre colour scheme so that means you got the origin premier subscription thing. Is it worth going for the bullshit premier subscription thing for the extra stuff or is it better to just buy the game outright?
I have bought this game when it came out on Xbox One and it is such an amazing Star Wars game ! I love the lightsaber in this game , the Force powers , exploration, epic bossbattles and lightsaber duels against the Inquisitors, outstanding voiceacting , amazing characters and a fantastic story :)
This game feels like a modern Jedi Knight game 😃

Great review as always, stay honest and real Mackman! Never lower ya standards.
Can you review bloodborne mac if u haven't played it yet i wanna hear your opinion on it 🤔
Still upset I they can't do simple cutscenes in 21:9. The community has to do it for these damn AAA games everytime.
@phillip martin They already DO support 21:9 for gameplay. It's literally a hex edit and "jobs a gooden" for cut scenes. It annoys me too but it's no reason to get all anti purchase and preachy about it. Geeze.
@phillip martin Then you'll have no damn games to play, lol.

It is. If you like exploration. Backtracking little stories to be found. Puzzles. And dark soul games (play at jedi master difficulty or above). Then yeah if you like those things go for it. I sure enjoy it.
It's not. I've paid $15 for origin premium acces to play it, and i can barely justify that. If i had bought this game i would be banging my head into a wall right now. 22 hours of gameplay, quarter of it is running back to your ship because you cannot fast travel.
@@verdynius ah I can see you just want dumbed down games (; no fast travel is amazing. The only save point campfire style is amazing. It makes it more difficult. Finally a damm game that isnt dumbed down easy.

Hey Mack,
I know I am late but Did you ever review days gone? Cuz I looked everywhere but couldn’t find yours. I usually buy only if you review them.
Mack, your experience with the stuttering is strange indeed. I've already played through the Prologue and the first two planets and don't have it. I play in 1440p (auto resolution scaling is set to off), with a mixture of High and Epic settings. Textures, distance view and effects are set to "Epic", the rest is "High", Antialiasing is "Medium" because a 27inch display with 1440p doesn't need more. Limited to 120fps and I usually get at least 60fps, with small dips below but never have I seen slowdowns like in your video. My hardware: AMD Ryzen 3700X on an X470 mainboard, 16gb memory and a GTX 1070.
I've watched macs reviews for a few years now and he's probably saved me over £150 on shit games we need more critics like you I hope that you hit 1 mill subs soon mac and keep up the great work
So he saved ya from purchasing three games?
@@rayedgar1992 imagine paying 50 usd for games
@@donpepe8440 Why would I imagine that? You don't make sense.
I'll pick it up for a fiver in 2 or 3 years
You mean in 6 months. EA and ubi games drop down in price literally weeks later.
Hijynx87 fr?
They do indeed. You've usually got to wait 1.5 to 2 years for them to literally be a fiver though.
Oh lord mack the starwars games they used to make was incredible
I had the same performance at 1440p, I have a gtx 1080 and I was getting drops to the low 20's. Combat's really simplistic too, a shame coming from respawn it seems fun but I'll probably buy it after 6 months.
mac you play as a Padawan who hasn't completed his training, why would you have advanced force abilities?
Presumably they wrote the story so could have developed it such that you got all (or more) of the powers towards the end!
dmwrobinson that’s what I was thinking which is really understandable he just knows the basics he was taught
He can freeze time! Seems like an advanced ability when compared to mind trick to me
Hey Mac. Love your reviews. I just would like to point out that your character in JTFO is a Padawan and had been a Jedi during the clone wars.
As a Padawan, your powers would be limited, so stuff like force choke and lightning would be off limits. Also mind-trick is quite advanced. Cal was a very young Padawan during the clone wars and thats where his training ended.
At the end of the game Cal is just then getting back to where he was when the Clone Wars ended.
Not really. In the end Cal gets to the power level of a Padawan, not a knight. All those powers are basic generalised powers, and are the ones younglings learn before they become padawans. In fact, before becoming a padawan, younglings are tested in those powers under the observation of the jedi masters, so that the masters could chose their padawans. Then, under a Master, Padwans use more specialised powers and deepen their understanding of the basic ones. Read up on the youngling->padawan->knight training process.
Hello Mack I trust your words about games and honestly I wanted to ask if you cav review Kingdom Under Fire II
My come to for games. Keep up the good work.
You are literally a Padawan who had training until you were 12, you are not supposed to be a all powerful Jedi. You did not even finish your training to become a Jedi Knight.
exactly what i thought, did he pay attention to the story?
It doesn't matter the point he is trying to make is that it's lazy that a modern game can't surpass a early 2000s star wars game. That's kind of pathetic if you really think about it.
Yes!! I’m playing this for the first time and I realized this. I totally don’t agree with this video.
"Some levels look like a Mickey Mouse theme park" yeah my thoughts exactly while I was playing the dark forest level last night lol
Hey Mack, could you maybe look into doing that new Terminator first person shooter game people seem to be liking? Thanks.
Thank you for the honesty 😊
it feels like a butter knife instead of a light saber, doesn't cut anything..
rifz42 it rips through every droid and organic things.
EA would've wanted this to do well but not too well in order to push their "multiplayer games is what the consumer really wants" narrative. So glad this is a pretty good game imo and has been received pretty well
Coming back to this two years later... it's better than I gave it credit for on release, but it's nothing compared to Jedi Outcast 2 which came out 20 years ago.
Will wait for this one to hit half price I think Mack, thanks for an honest review as always.
Ples. take a lock on "Terminator: Resistance"
My hand was hovering over the buy button ten minutes ago and I had to exert a lot of self control to not just buy without your valued input lol.
Great review Mack! Good work, I applaud you for yet another very trustworthy review.
Surprised to hear you had frame rate issues. Mine runs buttery smooth at 1440 p on Epic on an RTX 2080. It even runs pretty smoothly on my gaming laptop with a 2060 at 1080p.
looks like an easier version of dark souls with a star wars skin on it
@Byron MaidPro -Salt Lake City Yeah in DS you gotta fight the clunky ass controls and animations. This at least is a lot more fluid.
@@alcovitch And a lot more unpredictable, which is not good when you're playing on the hardest setting. I'd prefer clunky yet predicable animations over this mess any day.
More like Sekiro than DS.
Byron MaidPro -Salt Lake City It's called platforming. There's nothing wrong with it. It's inspired by Tomb Raider and Uncharted. Some of us happen to like that style of game.
Hijynx87 played it. yep, it’s more Sekiro with an abominable camera and melee/parry system. In Sekiro at least i knew if my hits would reach the enemy.
Asking honestly: how does an abandoned Padawan complete his training?
Simple really. All the Padawan has to do is subjectively create his own rules. Kinda like Rey lmao
Harold Williams through the power of friendship and diversity! 🤢
I saw a Joe Rogan podcast where he & Eddy Bravo were talking about this. They were convinced that he must've taken DMT & learned the ways of the Force while in an altered state of consciousness. 🤔
All of your replies make more sense than the recent direction Star Wars has been taken in.
He remembers stuff from when he was trained that he blocked out when order 66 happened it’s nothing like Rey he actually learns and remembers everything he learns nothing to do with the power of friendship more to do with remembering his pain and getting through it
Thanks for the quick review! I clicked as soon as I saw it.
Darn. I was hoping for Dark Forces but it looks like we got Arkham Jedi...
at 8:41 i didn't get why the ship lowered its wing and raised it back again 4 seconds later
Mack, I just finished this game and loved it. I thought combat was great, sound was great, and even the tomb raider/uncharted pieces gave a good feeling of exploration, it reminded me of the newer movies, but was still cool. The story was a fun Star Wars story and much better than the recent movies and the encounter with Vader at the end, where he was more like a force of nature than a human was fantastic.
I agree. Best Star Wars game since Knights of the Old Republic imo.
Was waiting for this review
You said you don't really feel powerful when wielding the Force - isn't that kind of ok if you're just a Padawan? I haven't played the game yet, just asking to hear some opinions.
Mack!
I can buy one game to play for the holidays, which one would you recommend?
The outer worlds or Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.
Thanks for the great reviews! :)
The outer worlds is on game pass so no need to buy it
@@wickymicmac3844 game pass?
The main character is running like he shit himself... who the hell approved this?
Approved by a complete moron
Tbh I don't mind the limited amount of force abilities. Cal left his training before he was done and ended up with only 3 abilities, however if they do make a sequel, then they should definitely allow more abilities to be used. In my opinion the best part about the game is the lightsaber, how you find and pick your Kyber crystal, evolve your saber throughout the game and the customization options that comes along with it.
Looking at gameplay vids I also compared it to a Tombraider with lightsabers and you confirmed it, already got all Tombraidergames don't need another. I'll save my money and move on.
Great review as always, thx and keep it up =)
What type of alien is the black thing with big eyes?
