Aaaah, Lurker. My favourite. And my personal nightmare. Before releasing instructions for this one, I actively spent 10 months retro-engineering the build. More than once I thought I'd never succeed, even with getting a lot of angle views of him. But in the end, worth it. The build is neat and clean, the design and color scheme is great, I basically never disassembled it cause he's too good on my shelf. Anyone loving Bionicle ? You'll love this one. Ok. So imagine you’re tasked with figuring out who killed some terrible dictator, then a few years later you figure out he’s become one with the universe. Just imagine. “Yeah boss. I don’t think someone killed him”. But onto the moc. It looks really good. He looks very solid and stable, despite the back heaviness.
His claw arms are indeed artificial which is mentioned in the lore. Most hunters receive artificial upgrades, and Lurker chose claws. Also in the official build, he is supposed to have a dark grey slizer foot on his back, which is ment to represent like some sort of power pack for the claw arms, kinda like Dr.Octotpus. Any great review as always :D
Looks like If not for vahki heads and nuva shoulders he would be bending down, or falling over a lot like some of the others. Visually he is great, fully agree on that, but when I look at those masks... Makes me think of 2001 rahi and wonder, wouldn't it be better if those masks were a part of his function. Toa would use zamor launchers to take them out and defeat him (especially fitting with the masks of shielding, he could be using them as energy shield generators instead of just decoration), with how easily they're removed, just like it was with Rahi back in the days. I kinda itch for a model with a bit of a play-function and he definitely had the potential.
I always thought the colour scheme was a bit loud and out of place, but I guess Hakann has the same colours so. But especially with the hau nuvas on the shoulders and the design of the teeth, he looks like he's all exposed flesh with metal parts jutting out and no skin. I guess that fits the character too though.
You said the stingers weren't anywhere near as advanced or complex as the rest of him, but I think Lurker would WANT them that way. He's prefers old-fashioned equipment.
Me hearing his backstory and the fact that he has a disdain against range weapon: so he’s basically a follower of Korne. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
Lol, just in time. I just received the pieces to build him myself. Too bad the one Vahki piece came already broken, so his upper leg looks a bit weird ;(
@@DuckBricks hehe, should have mentioned it was the upper portion of the Vahki leg, thus being unable to connect to anything :(. I did however replace it with a grey Vahki leg, with the same color as the mechanical arms, so he did end up looking kinda cyborg like haha

That would be pretty cool and add a lot of extra layers to a canonized model like this - good idea!

It’s a pretty neat design but I will say it was surprisingly difficult to put together/used pieces in pretty unique ways!
