Saw The Priory of Brion in a small(ish) tent at the Cambridge Folk Festival in (if memory serves) back in 2000. We plonked ourselves on the grass right in front of the stage cross-legged and old Percy seemed to just to play just for us the entire set so it was like having him in our front room almost! Loved it!
A mate of mine came into work grinning from ear to ear. He saw the priory around this time, at TELFORDS a small club in Chester. Going in the club, there was Plant and Page outside! Against the wall having a pint! He was with his brother, and he nodded and said alright lads! And they both smiled!
@@AndyEdwardsDrummer Andy! I may be taking your reply the wrong way! But if your taking the mick, I’m disappointed in you! You of all people know how the music biz works! People turning up out of the blue etc! I watch your channel and agree with 90 % of what you say! Especially about the Mahavishnu, and Zappa material. Good day sir!
@madcyril4135 I was answering the original comment, and it was a fact, I was sat backstage with Roger Glover. The gig in Chester was only our second gig. I don't remember Page being there but Robbie Blunt and I think Robert was chatting with Robbie
love the brutal guitar sound! did not expect a Robert Plant gig to sound like peak Keith Levine era Public Image! i will def be investigating Kev G's other work. perhaps a video exploring his discog is in order Andy?
I saw Priory of Brian in Ludlow, and the bit during one of Kevyn’s unbelievable solos when someone in the Ludlow audience shouted out ‘hurry up mate, the Kebab House shuts in Ten Minutes’ Great Night. Spider Fingers Gammond. Fantastic playing.
The triangle player was top notch. (Experts can tell he's triangle player, even though he was on the tinker bells.) Happy band, happy crowd, must've been a great night out for everyone.
This is prog / fusion almost. Or is this? 😯🙂 Thank you for uploading! 👍🏻 И Энди такой молодой паренек да еще и с этими колокольчиками 😀 / And Andy is such a young guy and also with those little bells 😀 But where is the DRUM solo? 🙂
What I hate about Prog is that it always seems to be 'difficult for difficulty's sake', which means that it always risks tipping over into pretentiousness. The guitarist is playing chords that even look pretentious.
Yes, and 'different for the sake of being different.' John McLaughlin inspired innit . Robert looks like a museum director, faced with the problem of how to appear when exhibiting a pile of bricks or latrine. He's faced with two options: either pretend to appreciate it, or awkwardly hover off to the side looking confused. Seems to me he's taking the only viable option.
Probably not quite managing to spread his fingers quite far enough on those five fret spreads! Maybe it's just not his instrument? Piano maybe, might be easier? Accordian?
I missed the Bishops Castle gig by an hour but saw these at Lichfield Guild Hall, Old Hill Workingman's Club and some place on an industrial estate in Brierly Hill. Happy times and amongst the best gigs I've ever seen.
I liked this band and this period in Plant's career very much and I've got a couple of cd's of him and the Priory. Good to now see them in action.
That drummer is really good!
He should start a youtube channel!
He should have enrolled in a monastery 4:14
Guess he can play a bit, but the drums aren't out of key like the guitars so it sounds weird.
Also, that singer's a bit crap ain't he.
Think he needs autotune and the care that guy plays that tiny cymbal thing is interesting 🤔
Who knows, one day he might be good enough to evolve into an Andy Edwards, the lad has potential :)
One of the finest finger cymbal solos I’ve ever seen… I wept.
This is proper stuff! Love it
Thank you very much for sharing this Live Music with us!
This is what I have been waiting for!
The savage young Edwards
Lovely to see Robert letting his band stretch out a bit. And man, that drummer is killing it.
Fantastic drummer and Kevyn is from another guitar universal---love this!
It sounds like that guitar player just started playing that very day.
Some of the best bell ringing I have ever seen.
Wow, love it, you were having a party🎉
🥁 thx for sharing
Interesting video ... Please post another if you have one where the guitar is properly tuned
Happy to see the young Andy with Robert Plant. Ever wondered what kind of music you have been playing. Great, my friend ❤
Definitely extra points Andy for that Bruce Lee T Shirt 👌
These are the things that give sustenance to continue when the dust settles on ambition. What a lovely thing to have, 💗🙌
Some lovely moments in there
Damn good!
Awesome video have a great day Andy ❤😊

I remember that gig as I was sat backstage with Roger Glover asking questions about Made in Japan

Crossed wires.
I apologise.

Great gig, Andy, by all. Didn't know you could play those finger thingies!
Great stuff!!!!
wooow to this jazzy/fusion line-up and to the drummer - the best line-up Plant has ever had in his band
Woow!! ❤❤
I saw Priory of Brian in Ludlow, and the bit during one of Kevyn’s unbelievable solos when someone in the Ludlow audience shouted out ‘hurry up mate, the Kebab House shuts in Ten Minutes’
Great Night.
Spider Fingers Gammond.
Fantastic playing.
Love Your Snare!!❤😮
For some reason UA-cam decided to play Van Morrison Brown eyed girl right after watching this video. Lol
By the way very cool Bruce Lee shirt
Beat playing Red for me.
Good drumming!! The singer has potential...
Plant was so handsome
Aleister Crowley was in the pocket on this one.
The triangle player was top notch. (Experts can tell he's triangle player, even though he was on the tinker bells.) Happy band, happy crowd, must've been a great night out for everyone.
Way cool, man…
You can see from the video, Robert Plant is into it.... 😎
The Grateful Dead used to randomly play an instrumental version of this during their jams in 1970.
You said the name!.......Voldemort!
Pretty prog & jazzy for Plant.
Great band.
First time I’ve seen a Surfcaster being used on stage. ❤
Gammond was playing some crazy chords. I wish my hands could spread out that far.
Against forgetting: I liked all the stuff before, when Michael Lee (RIP) was on drums for Page/Plant.
I knew Michael a little....sadly missed

И Энди такой молодой паренек да еще и с этими колокольчиками 😀 / And Andy is such a young guy and also with those little bells 😀
But where is the DRUM solo? 🙂
Darkness, Darkness. Is that the name of the song, or a comment on the fact that the concert took place in Norway in December?
Both maybe?
You’re but a wee lad!

How did the guitar player get the gig? The rest of the band has potential. 😅
Because Robert knows more than you?
Whos Brian?
Who is the guitar player….. playing very interesting and angular
Could use a bit more cowbell.
It needs some sort of Stonehenge prop. And capes. Yeah, capes.
How can you see without yer goggles?
Guitarist sounds out of tune/in the wrong key at the beginning, unless it was supposed to be ‘dissonant’.
Probably not quite managing to spread his fingers quite far enough on those five fret spreads! Maybe it's just not his instrument? Piano maybe, might be easier? Accordian?
The number of bum guitar notes set my teeth on edge. The vocalist has potential though. The drummer should not be laughing, this is serious stuff.
Kevyn is an avant garde guitarist, this is a unique example of that world meeting the world of legendary rock.
@@AndyEdwardsDrummer Kevyn with a 'y' of course!
guitar work was cool, whatcha talkin' about?
I missed the Bishops Castle gig by an hour but saw these at Lichfield Guild Hall, Old Hill Workingman's Club and some place on an industrial estate in Brierly Hill. Happy times and amongst the best gigs I've ever seen.
That guy looks familiar.
that wouldn't be aleister crowley on drums.
Plant (vocal, guitar), Justin Adams (steel guitar, mandolin), John Baggott (keyboards), Clive Deamer (drums), Billy Fuller (bass) and Skin Tyson (lead guitar).
@@tomtrana3449 not in this line-up darling
He didn't put in the same legwork as Jimmy. Not quite.
did you have a good piss up after
Is it supposed to sound like that?
Prog innit!
Apparently, the answer is "yes". But could equally be "no." Hard to tell
Very interesting! shame about the drumming, obviously, but great stuff!
That guitarist…ouf…no
