I fly all the time with my dog and all you have to do is make sure you follow the airlines requirements very very carefully - and that is all you have to do - I just watched this video of these two adults complaining they were rejected but never showed the size of their crate and it was huge for the 4 seconds they showed it. but they never showed the size of the crate or what the airlines requirements were hmmmmm but its never a problem if you do what you are told to do. your puppy is so cute.
Questions! Q1: Can you take your puppy out during the flight? Q2: Can you open the carrier during the flight and feed your puppy?(I did watch the video and you did on this one, so I assume it's okay?? :P) Q3: How were you able to feed water during the flight to puppy? Thank you!
No you can’t unless they are a service dog, you can do that depending on what your flight attendant says, you generally want to have your puppy potty before the flight and keep water and food away
Excellent video and very helpful to see the actual journey to get your puppy in Alaska. My husband will be flying next week to Portugal and back home in Canada to get our 11w old puppy (Portuguese Water Dog). Question : on the plane, do you went to the bathroom with puppy to get him peeing on a pee pas on the floor? Or put a pee pad on the bottom of the carrier bag?
theoretically since you have to provide a health certification to travel with a dog wouldnt the airport relief areas be relatively safe considering a vet would have to sign off that the animal is healthy and UTD on shots?
Good point. I hadn't thought about the risk before this video, but it made me question how well the airport pee stations are maintained. How often and what standards are they cleaned?
Im nervous im flying on American Airlines is 19x13x9 the one i found is 17x11x10.5 Im picking up an 8 week Alabai puppy dog in December 7 hoping he will be under 16 pounds due to the carrier is 3 pounds, according to them are 20 pounds both combined.
Maybe pick it up with some paper towels, put it on the serving tray and tell the flight attendant the food tastes like $hit? Or maybe just flush the paper towel and poop down the on board commode.
Having the carrier with a puppy pad or going to the bathroom with a pad and the puppy should work. Then you dump the pad in the trash/throw the waste in the toilet and flush
Do you have a link to the carrier you bought? Or can you type the name out, I’m flying Alaska and picking up a eight week old standard poodle and I am kind of paranoid because I feel like the dimensions are smaller than most carriers I am seeing
I’ll be flying out with mine this week with my 20lb aussie, all the dimensions for airline in cabin pets are pretty small but I think there’s some flexibility with soft sided kennels. For example I took mine to the airport and asked different airlines and they approved it. I bought the SHERPA Meduim expandable carrier, it’s 19.25x11x11 with soft sides. The expandable side is a great feature to add some extra room for your pup!
I went to Florida with my dog 3 months ago. She was always crying. I opened the bag and I pet her. But the cabin attendant was very angry with it. " Don't let the dog out of the bag. " She hates bag very much. What do you think I should do for her next trip?
Hi! I a clip of your corgi getting in the carrier and turning around. Can you tell me what the size the carrier was? I saw it looked like a Roverlund carrier. I'm getting ready to take my first flight with my corgi mix (about 29 pounds) and I'm nervous about the whole turn around thing or her being comfortable in it. I still have to buy a carrier! How much does your corgi/new dog weigh and did the carrier hold up ok carrying it?
@@thewisdommenu I bought an XL sturdibag and flew southwest. No issues. The bag is flexible so that helped a lot. The trick was to turn the bag sideways and slide in from the aisle then put under the seat (dog is in it the whole time). We had a middle seat. I was stressed about the whole thing, but my dog did great. I would say you need a well behaved, calm dog or you’ll have a nightmare on your hands. Our flight was delayed (sitting on the runway for an extra hour and half) plus a 2 hour flight. Dog was in the bag under the seat the whole time. Prepare for the unexpected.
Hey! Did you have any issues with the different rules and regulations about them needing to stand? My little pup is short and stubby, but def taller than 9 inches when he's sitting.
We did not, but it just depends on the gate agent you get on the day of. I have not heard of puppies being turned away, but I know of people with dogs who were slightly too tall and were turned away when checking in.
Our 'puppy' is a 1 year old Maltese shitsu mix, and weights about 9 pounds. Hopefully we'll be able to acclimate her to a carrier well beforehand. She might bark at any distractions and I am concerned she could disturb other passengers. Do you have any suggestions on how to minimizes this potential problem.
Hi @jeff ayd!! I'm flying next week with my 8yr old fur baby. This is the first time ever that he's flying since we are relocating. He's just like you mentioned your fur baby is...did you have any complications? Did you gave him anything to calm him down? I'm looking into all and every option!
One point I'd add to this video is that the size of your crate depends on both the plane and the section of your seat (at least it did on Delta). In order for me to have the right-sized crate, I had to select the flight with a particular plane, and I had to upgrade to 1st class. Boeing 737-XXX has different underseat space than an Airbus XXX, and model numbers mattered. Delta had good info on their web site, but it was a pain to orchestrate the combination of plane, underseat space, and crate size.
I'm flying with my new puppy in a couple of weeks. This video was so helpful in knowing what to expect! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! This video has been super helpful! We're planning to fly a puppy on a 14 hour flight back home to the US, so we appreciate any advice!
Such a beautiful baby. How awesome he is so quiet and such a good boy.
Thanks!
Thank you for creating this video. I go pick up my puppy and your wonderful tips are helping me prepare.
This is an excellent video, well organized and presented, some new tidbits for me to consider, and good video of your experience. Thank you.
How much did your puppy weigh when you flew with him? Thank you!
I love this! I flew a puppy for a breeder not to long ago and this explained everything perfectly! I always love watching your videos! 😍
Thanks Madison!

without vaccines for something like parvo, its dangerous anywhere. you dont want to risk losing the life of your new dog.

This information was very helpful. I am going to fly with a 12 week old puppy and I an worried he will cry a lot during the flight.
I'm going to pick up my white-creamy color Pomeranian puppy in January 14. going to meet up with the nanny at Anchorage :)
Where do you get that puppy tunnel
Yes, my airline said max of 5 pets in carriers on a flight.

Hope you are doing great! Your puppy is so cute. Which size of the Roverlund bag you got 4 ur puppy? Thank you
Where did you buy the bag 🙏🏽i love it and the water cup please.
Thank you! But what if the puppy poops in the carrier, while on the plane?! This is my worst fear, what do you even do?!

do you have a link for the water bottle?
How much did he weigh? My poodle pup might be around 14-17lbs I’m worried
Was your carrier "under" the seat in front of you or sitting in front / on top of where your feet are?
Great video! Is there any paperwork you did for flying your puppy?
I need to know this also. Flying from manila to Toronto
Where did you get the water bottle ? Do you have a link to it please ?
do they give you a discount for golden retriever puppies? because they should.
Did you use the small or large roverlund carrier?
do you have links to the products you are suggesting?

We need an update vlog 😂
I’m surprised they let you fly in cabin because clearly the puppy couldn’t stand in the carrier…
