Dolphin S Tour - ❌ wood ❌ propane ❌ black tank ❌ solar ✅ HOA friendly - by Embassy RV July 2023
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- This touring coach could be the most innovative Camper Van on the market. It is crafted by Embassy RV very nicely equipped for around $150,000 USD, including power lithium package.
Embassy RV crafts their Camper vans with:
NO propane on board
NO wood in the build out
NO black tank of toilet waste
NO awning to break
NO solar panels necessary
NO mold interior
Standard Features:
LITHIUM energy system by MasterVolt
INSULATION is best-in-class
FOUR-SEASON travel capable
TOUCH-SCREEN control panel + iPad app
WARRANTY of 3 years or 50,000 miles, is limited and which ever comes first
Embassy RV makes HOA friendly Class B RVs because there are NOT the usual RV giveaways such as plumbing holes in the side of the van, no exposed tanks, no solar panels, no awning, and no rooftop A/C unit.

My favorite feature is all the storage. We're in a small Class C now (a Winnebago Fus on the Transit chassis) and have just enough storage. It seems that none of the other Class B's that we've seen can come close to the Embassy Dolphin S. There's so much storage in the main cabin even before you get to the garage. Then the garage is a real game changer.
Storage and the finished interior of the cabinets. The elegance of the engineering is pretty special.
Love the fact that there is no propane, storage, twin beds makes it look open. The toilet we are not sure about. Those bags are very very expensive. Wonder if there is another option.
@@brittabrand6645 there is another toilet choice and some owners hack the dry toilets.
@@Cjlaub awesome 😎 I did fell in love with that one for sure! What is the other choice, name of the toilet?
I am looking forward to seeing the floor plan that Scott would be happy with.
As amazing as this RV is, with their sleek design, I would like to have more of a “home-like” feel to it. 😊
Fingers crossed!
Wow. I would love to have this to take my son to all his hockey games and tournaments every weekend!! Put his gear in the back and ride in comfort! Amazing.
That is awesome Sarah
I love my Embassy Dolphin SL 2 BR, 1 BA floor plan with storage for my E-bike and paddleboard. Stealthy and efficient just like a submarine which is why I call it "The Nautilus".
Nautilus !!
Another terrific review by Scott with Terry! So pleased to see Embassy's continuous improvements, particularly the commitment to provide travel seating (belted) for 6. YES!!
Dave !
Changing color mirror?? Time for DISCO! I get jealous every time I see the amazing updates to the Embassy RV... I think my wife is not going to let me see your videos anymore Scott. I keep wanting to spend more money! 😆
Informative as always, Scott. Be seeing you!
LOL
You got me at water filter 👍🥂
right on
I’m always impressed after an Embassy tour. They are amazing.
agree
I'm frankly amazed at the relatively affordable price of an Embassy as opposed to bigger manufacturers. Love watching these videos. Thanks Scott!
You're buying directly from the manufacturer so there's no middle man.
I did not see them discuss price, so may I ask what is the price?
There was a graphic contained in the earlier part of the video regarding price. From recollection, 2023 models were pricing $133-150k (that’s from memory; don’t hold me to it; instead you may want to rewatch this video).
well said
Need some kind of screen for the door, so you can leave door open. Lot of mosquitoes in Maine. Thank you Terry, hope to seeing you soon. A little hard living on social Security.
Can’t wait to get mine in two+ months!
It will be worth the wait !
Hello Scott! Thanks for another great video!
We sent in our check today for the Dolphin S! We are brand new to RVing and have been researching RVs for over 5 years now! Finally found one the will fit our plan for part time traveling when I retire from the Army in March2024. Our van may be ready by April 2024! Perfect timing!
Thank you gain for introducing EMBASSY to us! Hope to see you on the road some day! Karen & Chris😊
HUA! Congratulations.
I am so excited for you! Welcome to the Embassy RV Dolphin family! Now the waiting :)
Another great video guys!!!!
We Love our and it is a 2021 Traveler!!!
The engineering design was thou out VERY wll!!!
Excellent job Terry.
Another big - big factor is how Embassy stand behind their product and the support you get from them.
Special Thank You to Nolan and he team!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Super cool if Embassy could build on the new Transit Trail chassis, it would be the perfect van for off-grid.
That would be cool!
Awesome tour! There's definitely a lot to love about Embassy vans, the stealth look, huge lithium battery, no wood durable construction, tons of storage, huge TV for movie nights, dry flush toilet, etc. That said, they're not quite perfect, 23 gallons just isn't enough fresh water for extended boondocking (I'd like to see at least 35 gal), exterior solar port for portable panel hookup when boondocking would be nice. Sure, there are better custom builders out there, but that'll cost you $50-100k more than this. This is probably the only class B van I would even consider purchasing because at this price point the compromises are minimal, compared to the garbage coming out of the mainstream industry. Keep on innovating Terry, you might have a new customer in a few years!
Well said Dig
Embassy RV’s are definitely unique and high on my list. However we’ve seen several videos of this model over the last couple of years, and I’m really not fond of the layout with the couches/bed in the front. We’re never seen a view of the model with the convertible bed in the back and the pictures of that model on the web site are not very good. Could you please ask them to demo the SL rear bed version of the layout? Also I gotta say that your ambassadorship of this brand would be much more effective if you were actually living in one!
I am not in an Embassy RV because their floor plan does not match my travel style. Determining how a floor plan enables your floor plan, part-time or full-time, is critical to your Van Trael happiness. I have always been up front about that, I thought. And WK General, because I show you and others many vans and floor plans I goal is to help you determine the near-best floor plan to enable your style Van Travel more quickly.. Hope that helps a tad
@@gosmall.livelarge yes, you have been up front about that and I get it that you don’t like the floor plan (neither do I). What I don’t understand is why they haven’t built you a floor plan that you DO like. No need to respond to this comment but it just seems like they’ve had plenty of time to do that in order to stand behind your ambassadorship!
Wow, that is great. Wish I would have known about it before I bought the 2023 Travato KL. It would be nice to compare them side by side. I wonder if I would have picked the Embassy. Probably!
Jean… my thought is whatever van your are traveling in you are taking the Vanlife Experiences. that could be the most important ‘cuz you are doing it now instead of waiting for the “perfect” van. When you are ready for a change, Embassy could be in your future. Proud of you for “doing it now instead of waiting “
Kinda looks airplane interiorish, and I like it!!
agree
This layout is best for two, but the sofas (w/ belts) makes it a good travel vehicle for groups up to 6. Seat-belts for 6 is a rarity among B-vans. While forward-facing, 3-way safety belts are best, this is a REALLY GOOD accommodation for occasional group travel. Thank you Terry! I prefer the shortest vehicle length in a van, so am hoping to see Embassy's ideas for those of us who do not want the optional cabin/cabana enclosure out the back.
thx Dave
Well Scott, now you are making us stop by Embassy to check out their rigs…. Honestly the SL model is calling our name. We 100% would have went with that over our Ekko based on the quality and innovation!
Interesting
Very well packaged
agree Adam
Come on Terry, you can get a 40 inch tv up there LOL
LOL
For me the bigger question is what features don’t I like???
Excellent video Scott. I so impressed with the materials being used for this build especially after seeing what my neighbors in Phoenix have had to deal with on their Thor class B.
I think the prices are the big surprise for me in that they are in the ball park of other C-B’s that are nowhere near as well made as Embassy’s
vans. Big thumbs up to you for featuring innovation and technology in the Class B world
hi Neal !
Can't find pricing anywhere ...dolphin S on a promaster , how much ?
Scott, can you and Terry please do a tour like this of the model with the 2 separate beds? I am debating between which I want. Thank you.
Thx David.
I went to the Van Expo in Evergreen CO hoping to see Embassy...nope. I really like this brand and have seriously considered putting money down but I need to see it in real life! How can I get to see one of these without having to travel across the country to the factory??
Robert, “How to buy an Embassy RV” recorded with me and Terry today release soon. Tells you everything you need to know, mostly. best thing is join the FaceBook (I know!) group and start chatting. Search FB for Embassy RV
Really nice and more user-friendly. The bike storage is key. The water system is perfect. Just needs some low profile solar panels. Great layout and storage. Clean, clean workmanship.
Thanks Mike. No solar needed
Terry hasn’t been shopping for gallon water jugs lately 😂 Instead of .49/gal it’s $1.22 at WM. I like the concept of the van but wish it was homier inside. I like the looks of the LTV and innovation of the Wingamm.
LOL
Scott, Great video, as usual for you. How about one that shows how to make up the bed in this unit as one large bed. Not just how the two beds come together, but also how you actually put a large bottom and top sheet and blanket on it. I always wonder how you put a fitted bottom sheet on an RV bed that is a collection of several pieces of foam. Thanks!
Great suggestion bob
The dream!!
Wendy !
Id have to agree! I love these vans...its just the floor plans. I have really gotten attached to the functionality of the Travato 59GL floor plan. I wish I could see it in a Ford Transit Chassis...and withcthe materials like Embassy rv offers.
I am with you on being attached to the Travato 59GL floor plan
Love this tour the closest to what I want.
Looking forward to once they do your lay out to see what that's like
Omg please God provide so want to get in one an travel with my doggie ❤❤❤
Sorry for the auto correct typos!!
They get me every time - LOL

It's very interesting. That toilet though. It's expensive to flush, you need storage to carry an extra, where do you order one, and what about the urine factor? I DO like the AC set up with ducting in the van. No one else has that. I'll be keeping an eye on this company for updates. Thanks for the video. Great job as usual!
Hi Tev
Hi Scott, thank you for the Embassy review and these RVs certainly have some excellent and compelling features. I am not overwhelmed by the floorpan and much prefer those of Storyteller and Solis/Travato, with their murphy beds. I can't wait to see what comes out of your discussion with Embassy to create a new floorpan option.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow! That's a gorgeous van. I'm curious about the toilet. How much does it cost per flush? I drink a lot of water. 😂
Hopefully you can work out a new floor plan with a permanent table. I would love to use something like this for my mobile office. Thanks for another amazing review, Scott!
If you’re a single traveler, they have this model with a sofa bed on the driver’s side and a workstation/counter on the other side.
One more thing. Please show the windows. How many are there and do they open? In beautiful weather, I love opening all windows for airflow. I also like seeing what's going on outside my van.
@@Cjlaub I'm not. But I'll check it out anyway. Thanks.
Hi Kim !
Scott, another great Embassy RV video. Terry, I like the new color scheme. Does Embassy offer other toilet options? MORE videos with Terry.
Thx My3. Yes there are a couple of toilet options for Embassy RV
@@gosmall.livelarge Scott, thanx for providing prices for the Embassy.
I prefer the shorter ProMaster (20'8") to the longer Transit (22'), but I learned that due to space issues the ProMaster has the AC on the roof. The split AC system, which is mount below the floor, is installed on the Transit. With interior ducting, I suspect the interior sound level is quieter in the Transit.
thx Dave
I really find the Embassy intriguing. Not sure I'm sold on the bathroom yet, but I would take that over a cassette, curious as to how the shower functions with real world usage. I love the new color scheme, and really like the no wood concept! The storage is amazing! I'm curious as to how cool it stays - just knowing how it is to fight hot weather in a big metal box.
more to come
Love the dolphin S . However I equally love the OGO composting toilet.
Unfortunately it's not possible to have it replace the one embassy has chosen. I'm also concerned about how loud the air vents are. The fantastic fan is MUCH quieter. I'm not TOO concerned with it looking like an RV. Because the roof AC unit is a give away already. The RAM has to have the AC mounted on the roof as I understand.
Having said all that I do think it's a nice PRODUCT . The no wood and no propane etc is great. Terry seems extremely trustworthy
HOA friendly van.
Yes !
I thought you’d be in for some derivative of the SL, Scott with its three living areas. Once I see the B+ and digest its features, I may order an SL. I live stealth and fuel mileage. Thanks, Scott and Terry!
thx Bill
So this look great as. Van. What is the average cost?
If Embassy would build an EKKO, I’d be all over it!
It’s coming. It’s called the Cape Cod and I’ll be putting a deposit on one.
@@BillSpraguedo you know approximately when the Cape Cod will be out & approx cost?
they are working on that !
Really nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks good vid
Glad you enjoyed it
I would love to have one of those aims. But unfortunately, I can't afford. I'm on disability and money doesn't go far anymore. Cause I want to travel. I don't want to be in a sticks and bricks anymore. I just want to get out and see the world.
thx for sharing
Hey Scott and Terry, where the heck is the B-Box FORTRESS Build that I've been waiting for going on two years now?
info coming later this year on the Cape Cod B+
@@gosmall.livelarge okay but it's been so dang long, over two-years and counting but I will wait another month or two but not until the end of the year... that is too dang long when there are others B-Box+ out there. Lastly, I like both you and Terry, and his build lines, but the name of this one called Cape Cod B+ - don't care for that name at all, Fortress was better.
Great video! I’m surprised that they don’t have a two burner induction stove top for cooking.
I have two propane burner on my cooktop… in nearly 5 years have used both at once maybe twice
@@gosmall.livelarge Amen
thanks scott
of course Gary
Scott please push Terry to have their web site updated!!!!!!!
It needs it really bad.
Also, I thought I heard they were coming out with a new floor plan???
Is this true?
If so, when will it be show cased??
Please advise - Thank You
thx Jed. Will pass that on to Embassy RV
Not sure how the shower area works, is it a shower screen or curtain situation? Is there a holder for the shower head or is it hand held? If it's the latter then it would be massive let down compared to the rest of innovation going on with this van.
Shower curtain. Shower holder on the wall, not shown
I have NO EXPERIENCE with RV ownership. Nevertheless, I like the two seamless beds that also serve as sofas and even workstation seating (using the table). I didn't see a seat belt count on those sofas, but just seeing them is impressive. Conversely, it is important to know how they disappear for sleeping purposes. I suggest three 'people' numbers are rather important:
* Stationary seated max people count for stationary daytime entertainment/meeting purposes
* legally belted daytime passenger count for traveling purposes
* comfortable bed count for overnight purposes
Karl - this particular Dolphin S had 2 seat belts on each couch, i.e. belted seating for 4 on the couches (plus 2 up front in the cab). They touched on it briefly in this video.
thx K2
Just my $.02. Love the rear storage behind the bathroom, but hate the bathroom. Get rid of the storage in the bathroom and make it a semi dry bath, get rid of the silly toilet and give me a macerator/black tank. Sold.
thx
What is that box truck white van in the background?
Top Secret project, Oliver ! Embassy makes specially vehicles too, such as food trucks
Terry : I kept email you. I have one email return from you said working on it. I am in Edmonton Alberta Canada
I find myself wanting to like this much more than I actually do. Aside from the positives like the build quality, which in reality still does need to be consumer tested, the power system, plumbing, good warranty, etc., the black and white makes the interior seem cold and sterile and all the angles are odd and off-putting.
I don't understand that seat behind the driver's side with the high back. It looks bizarre and puts a separation in the bed that could be uncomfortable. Speaking of which, both those beds seem very short. What is the length and width of them?
The sink is a nice size and the water filtration is great! The counter lip is such a good feature too! However, that tablet/screen under the sink for the water seems oddly placed as it wastes all that possible storage. Also, why the 2 handles on each door that both seem to need to be pressed to open them? And no cooktop!
I think putting the a/c control in the pantry is a poor choice as it prohibits one from stacking that top shelf to full capacity for fear of blocking access. It could have easily been placed on the exterior cabinet wall with a hinged cover if the light is so bright.
Sorry, but that toilet cover is ridiculous! What went wrong with the designer's toilet training that he/she feels it needs to be covered with a curtain! That waterless toilet would be a good option however, mylar is terrible for the environment as it does not bio-degrade EVER! Plus the replacement cost of the inserts average out to about $2 a flush so that will have to be a consideration for some people.
Also, the standing space in the shower seems so much smaller than the ones on the Winnebago or Coachman rear bath B vans. They have the clothes storage too so I am not sure why that is. I'd forego the "garage" space and push the bathroom all the way to the back and give that room to the interior. Then you could add an induction cooker.
I like the clean exterior however, I'd want an awning. I'm in the market and this was one of my top considerations but I'm unsure now.
I don't mean these comments to be negative, more constructive, as I am looking at these vehicles very analytically for how I'd like to live in them.
All that aside, this was a good tour, thank you both.
Thx Jonny
The high cushion behind the driver's side that you mention has to do with the sofa cushions (including backs) fitting like jigsaw pieces for a bed if both sofas are extended out.
Interesting! but I didn't see a cook top, no kitchen really except a kitchen sink and a microwave. no shower curtain or sliding door to separate the vertical storage compartment. a city water connection inside with no floor drain incase it leaks at the connection. looks like a accident waiting to happen. but it is a nice looking interior and the materials look clean and easy to maintain. feed back always helps with the next build lol
they include a compact induction cooktop that can be put on the countertop or be stored away if not using, there is a shower curtain that attaches to hooks if taking a shower and there are 2 sliding pocket doors/panels for privacy in the toilet area (front and back)
portable induction cooktop comes wiht.
where do you get them and what are their prices?
Brenda, please visit EmbassyRV.com for info and to get your price
How is the gray water tank emptied in these vans?
HI Joy. There is a flexible tube that “hides” under the rig that is easily deployed to empty where appropriate
@ 10:00 Upper left cabinet door doesn’t look flush with the facing of the cabinet. 🧐 Is it a trick of the light?
hmmm
About what is the cost.
Wondering if & is so how long the AC can run off grid, just on lithium only/no electric hookups?
Hmmm. thought Terry mentioned that
do you make this as a hybrid?
If you mean chassis engine, it is gasoline
Why no flexibility of toilets.
OGO composting toilet is amazing
Embassy RV offer the two types of toilets. Custom van builder would give you lots of options and choices Thx for watching and subscribing :)
Is it an open concept bathroom? Any doors? I didn’t see a bathroom sink. Is there one or do you have to use the kitchen sink?
Yes, there are doors for the bathroom on both sides. Yes, only one sink.
two pocket doors for bathroom. one sink used for all duties
One sink would be a deal breaker. With 2 of us, one would always be at the sink when you want to use it. That's marriage... someone always in the way of where you want to go!@@gosmall.livelarge
Terry the "VP" ;-)
MVP is more like it 😉
Terry = V I P ;)
I like the materials and thought process. Needs a better floor plan please.
Thx College
Impressive but I’d prefer adding Solar. What’s wrong with renewable energy.
Solar not efficient in b-van with a quality lithium system.
Not a fan of the toilet, i would rather have a cassette toilet, and don't need that table mirror setup. More counter space in the kitchen. I'm single and only need a small bed. Everything else i love about this van. Would love to purchase one, but don't want to wait for years to get one. I need something soon. One of the best class B vans out there.
Embassy RV offered a couple toilet options. There wait times are quite reasonable, depending upon chassis. I think delivery is under six months. Check with the Team to get details. www.EmbassyRV.com
@@gosmall.livelarge thanks, I'll talk with them.
Sounds like the Dolphin SS floor plan is what you might want. Single couch/bed on driver side and extra cabinetry and counter space opposite.
What's an estimated percentage over the MSRP on the Winnebago Travato do the embassy van prices go for? I understand that quality ain't cheap so hit me with that number.
Hi Ben. Embassy RV doe not do the ridiculous MSRP. Nicely equipped, most rigs - including lithium - is $135K to $155k.
@@gosmall.livelarge Scott, you are sponsored by them I understand. it would be great if you could do a loaner of an embassy like you did with the 4x4 Winnebago model recently. I'd like to see you living in it for a stint and demo it for your viewers.

Not that bad but…Why is that screen taking up space under the galley sink? That would be a good spot for a trash bino a shelf for cleaning supplies…how do you reach that control panel up high in the cabinet if you have tall items in the cabinet? Again waste of storage space…the Laveo toilet cartridges are expensive, I am on the separating toilet team, no cost besides a few trash bags….however the worst part is that the galley has very little countertop space and not even a flip up and people may end up having to use the bathroom countertop to prepare food - which may be ok…. But once again: one should rent a van before buying so they can decide for themselves what works and what doesn’t.
good points
It looks like I should be wearing a space suit. It feels like I shouldn't be in it. It's NOT like being at home. NOT comfortable feeling at all. It is a ford which is good. My thoughts...Thanks for sharing...
Hi Mike
Surprised the windows don't open...
Thx Noah
I would want to do away with the garage and make the shower separate and the toilet separate and use up that space
Hello Jello
I'm on team Black Tank!
yes !
I'm sorry, but, sitting sideways in an RV with lap belts and no 3 way shoulder straps is a disaster in a traffic accident.
It's a very cute design, but, I wouldn't want to have this setup carrying any passengers.
A Class B motorhome is really designed to sleep two people. It has limited space and one bathroom.
Thx Mark
@@gosmall.livelarge Scott, you're welcome, always enjoy your reviews.
Tell me, from a "safety standpoint".....you don't disagree with me? Right? ----Mark
I too am skeptical about lap belts for side facing passengers.
@@chrisglockler6809 I know. Seen too many videos of RVs in accidents with people getting seriously injured from NOT being facing forward and sitting in 3 way shoulder belt.
My Class B motorhome has seat belts for 6 with this arrangement. First and second row seats and two additional seats in the back of the vehicle.....all facing forward...
I'm just not a fan of the floorplan...just like you Scott.
