Great comparison. I also have many Wyze cameras and have listened to the audio on them and didn’t realize how much better it could be. The Blink was a clear winner on the audio. I’m staying with Wyze.
I bought both. The one i ended up returning was the Blink. It did not trigger the notifications or events after coming home (would trigger for first 10 mins when we turned it on, but a few hours later when we got home, would not trigger. Amazon is full of similar reviews) Wyze does notify us. That is a crucial feature for me. And the continuous recording is a great feature which Blink did not offer
@@codezalo5773 the mic is passable quality with pretty good pickup for quiet sounds but the speaker i honestly haven't not tried so can't comment on that.
I have wyze cams, Like them, but here are some things not mentioned: App dependability is not great, cameras often have to be power cycled, and it seems whenever cams have a firmware update it takes 2-3 days for them to start working again. It takes a motion alert 18 seconds minimum to get to my phone, sometimes several minutes. No dark mode - wyze says they can't do it, the app background is very bright, if you check an alert in the middle of the night you'll see spots for a while.
Great review, thank you! As far as audio, it's of zero concern to me, so Wyze is the winner for me, and I have several v2 and v3 cams that I'm perfectly happy with especially after they improved the detection zone. Only issue for me is they're very phone-based so they don't provide support to monitor the cams on your laptop, but .. BlueStacks solved this problem for me. The support I received from them is pretty good too.
I'm going to get both! Blink for inside to watch my dogs. Wyze for outside for my driveway, horse pen, and dog run where the sound is not as important, but wide angle and night is more important. Thanks for the great review!
Thank you. I particularly liked that you tested both through a window. That was important for what I need. Audio less so. I came in thinking Wyze and...now I'm sure. Thanks to other commenters as well.
Purpose of camera: Video, picture=Visually see the environment. I take a mute Wyze Cam V3 over any other mini camera with better audio/sound. Priority=Video/Picture footage. You have a gift for honest & objective product reviews, thank you.
The video seems to be about the same quality in daylight, Wyze has got it hands down for night viewing but Wyze's downside is audio, the audio is horrible but that doesn't matter to me. Thanks for the great video, it was helpful for me.
Steve, great job as always! Well done. I am a long time subscriber and, like you, I am a Wyze product guy since they first introduced the Wyze Cam Pan (I have 7 of them covering the interior of my home). I also have their scale, vacuums (small and big stick) and watch. I was very impressed with the video and very disappointed with audio, and the opposite with Blink. Since both things are important to me, I would definitely stick to Wyze because I can still listen for sounds. I just wouldn't plan to have conversations over it. I do use outdoor Blinks to cover outside, but nighttime viewing is poor. However, I also have Arlo cameras outside, and they are great.
I bought a set of 3 Blink minis during Amazon Prime days without really researching much, also a Ring which I have already returned. Since my return window is closing in for the Blinks, I started doing my research. I really only want this camera to see my cats when I am away....yeah, I'm one of those...😊. So when I watched another video, that was when learned about the limited viewing time for live video. So I then found your side by side comparison, and you explained everything so well, I will finally be returning my Blinks on Monday (don't you love Amazon free returns?) and checking out bundle prices for the Wyze. I did think that the audio from the Wyse was awful, though. I guess I won't be conversing with my cats when I check in on them. Out of curiosity, is the outgoing sound (from the phone through the camera to the ones being filmed) just as bad? Thanks for a great video!
It appears that if wifi is lost on the blink mini it will be disabled completely, whereas that Wyze can still record without wifi. Just another thing I think is good to point out.
I love Wyze cameras, and would use that for security. However, while it's not a popular opinion, I do like the Blink's narrower field of view. The view isn't as distorted and appears more naturalistic, making it easier to judge distances. So 2 points for audio and field of view. Other than those two area, the Wyze camera blows Blink out of the water.
Wow, Blink video is so much smoother. And the audio is not even close between the two. Wyze has better night cam, but doesn’t make up for the difference in video/audio quality. Was going Wyze, but this has convinced me to go Blink.
Great video. I had a 2 camera blink system for a few years and switched to a wired in system. But now I need a camera on the back of the garage where there is no wires so I've been searching for a wifi cam. I'm thinking the Wyze is the way to go as I don't need audio. Thanks for the great comparison.
Wyze cam outdoor was kinda bad. They just came out with a v2. Kicking myself for not waiting till the tech got better. I would say the solar panel makes it worth not having to charge.

I have a bunch of Wyze and one Mini. Different use cases. The Mini is at the moment also semi-attractive as you can get two (2) Blink Mini for $29. Hard to beat price. Both sort of deliver what can be expected in this price range - where Wyze is totally outstanding when it comes to nighttime performance (especially if you have just a wee bit of residual light so you can turn off the built-in IR illuminator LEDs). Wyze works normally pretty well, but there has been more than once instance when one camera alerts for motion (and records), and the camera next to it (I have a few cameras looking at same area) is totally oblivious. This for cameras that are on CamPlus subscriptions. Basic for both cameras - as the WiFi radios are what they are - is that you need a solid RF environment at home. That means good performance on 2.4 GHz, not too much interference from neighboring AccessPoints (neighbors, especially if living in a multi-dwelling building...) and not having put in too many APs yourself. Hence, I have had very few disconnects or access issues with Wyze (I know that is not the case for everyone, but I firmly believe that more than 90% is unrelated to Wyze and can be attributed to the general RF environment).
@@fabian987m no, the Wyze does not come with a battery - but is easy to power off any battery (bank) if so desired. Power draw for the V3 is less than .25A at 5V so no massive drain. But as the WiFi AP never can be too far away, I always see the option as running a cable as feasable.
You can get the Wyze outdoor which has a battery which last very well. I thing they have a new outdoor version that also works on their solar panel. I’m not sure if it works on the first gen. Mine works great.

Hi did u find a good camera ? I’m looking for a camera to just watch my puppy while I’m at work. But I’m tired of sponsored videos :/ I want an HONEST review
The blink mini has a better viewing experience on daytime if frames per second matters to you. Audio quality is so much better on the blink mini too. I do own 5 Wyze cams for home monitoring and they have been working great since 2 years from now. One thing I don't get about the blink mini though is the 30 seconds live clip thing. If a motion triggers the recording, will you have then only a 30 seconds clip recorded on the cloud\local storage or the entire event \ clip will be then available to watch ?
Can you recommend a security camera for my cabin I have no internet or WiFi my iPhone works I’ve considered the Blink the ones I’ve seen whistle and say you’re being recorded I’m having a problem with theft Help
Great video it helps me decide which one I want to buy again. I have mini blink already, and I bought a flood light blink camera , but I ended up returning them. Also I’m kind of not liking it after few months of used for the mini, It’s stops like u showed here. So I am getting the Wyze now, even if the audio not so good but that’s okay. I’ll take it over blink. Thank you for posting your videos.
I have seven V3 cameras and I got them a year ago at first I was ready to throw in the towel but I'm really glad I stuck it out because I really like them the video is crystal clear the night time starlight sensor is really good I used that in the front of the house with a post light on the front lawn and the picture is amazing around the rest of the house I use the night vision it's in black and white but it's Crystal clear the only thing that blows is the audio but it is getting better. Person detection is great I keep sensitivity at 50 and I have no issues. Another thing I like about the camera is having an SD card if the Wi-Fi goes down I don't lose any recording unless the power goes out.
@@hkdomo831 I pay the $1.25 a month per camera it's well worth it. It never misses any motion it will detect a vehicle over 100 yards away and record with no issues I set it to person only now at 100 percent sensitivity and it has recorded a person notification as far as 100 ft with a 100% person notification within the 60 ft range around my house night time will always shorten the range of person detection it will record anything that moves and you can see it in the event window or with 24/7 recording you can go back and anytime of the day depending on the size of the SD card you have I have the smaller one so I can go back a couple of days and see whatever I want I suggest getting the larger SD card they have now it gives you a lot more storage.... but for $50 and that is the camera SD card and delivery you can't beat the price.
@@hkdomo831 I really wish Wyze would have a good battery camera because the one they have notifications take almost a whole minute that's a deal-breaker for me and detection is horrible I thought with the V2 they would have made some improvements but they didn't it's disappointing.
I have both. Wyze is much easier and less hassle than the blink. I switched to a new phone and blink has no way to change phone number, so I can't even use that cam anymore 😡🤦🏼♂️ I put a ticket in, nothing back. Any idea to help on that? Wyze color night vision is top notch. No other budget cam under $40 is doing that. Wyze definitely has nice features and they keep it coming..
I can't express how bad the audio is for the Wyze cams. I use them for @RoscoeSqueaks videos, and am trying to figure out which camera to switch to. Blink doesn't seem too great either, but better than Wyze as far as audio! I wish I saw this before getting the Wyze cameras.
It is more important for me to see what is going on than to have clearer audio, although having both crisp and clean would be most ideal. I would go with Wyze.
I like the WYZE, but the audio is so bad I would go with the Blink. For me, I want it to monitor a loved one with dementia, so audio communication is key.
Definitely the eyes camera for me your video helped me decide as I was between the two cameras. The audio is a little bit of a disappointment but overall the wyze camera seems to be the one. Thanks for the video very informative
Great video... I have an old Wize and hate the sound on that one, and it looks like it hasn't gotten any better. But the nighttime was way better on the Wyze. Hard choice to make...
Wyze has some fantastic cameras for the price. If only they'd do better with their app. Yi's app is far superior for viewing multiple cameras at the same time, and you aren't locked into going through the cloud to use them. Both offer micro SD storage, which is a must have in my opinion.
@@MalcombMedia1 I keep my Yi cameras running on my pc at home 24/7, and another set of Yi cameras at an elderly family member's home running 24/7 on another pc, to monitor their health. I use the desktop app from Yi, without paying for a subscription. My house has 8 cameras running, and the other has 6. Both home have different camera groups assigned, which makes switching from say back yard to front yard a simple click. You can assigned whatever variety of cameras you want to groups and name them, view them individually or view up to 9 together at one time.
Wyze needs to make V4 have a better mic. Also need to fix the occasional camera freezes that we get every so often. Hate having to unplug them to reset.
I am using both Blink and Wyze V3. As well as a Wyze outdoor. Wyze is best hands down. Love the Wyze outdoor no wires unless you want to. I have the V3 attached to inside of garage door facing with easy power cord attached showing my driveway. Never misses anything. On the Blink I have it attached to front corner of the house facing across the front yard with front of the house view. It is powered with solar. It is terrible. It seldom ever catches any person in front of it or my vehicle as I leave the garage or return. The mail man crosses in front of it every day but never shows an event. It loved vehicles on the street but only some of them but at night I think it catches most every one of them. It does catch me while on my mobility scooter driving towards it as I get close. People can mill around on my driveway which is about 30 feet from the camera and it doesn’t catch them. As for sound I don’t use it but I love the live view on the Wyze and the Wyze doorbell camera which also works great. Good video. Thanks.
Hey Steve, I love Wyze products but the audio on the cam is just abysmal. I can’t bring myself to purchase any version of WyzeCam until they fix that. After two attempted break-ins at our new apartment, we are ready for a security system so this is very frustrating! I’ve messaged Wyze asking if they intend to improve the audio, but they don’t respond. Steve, have you heard if that issue is on their to do list? It should be a top priority!
I have a Logitech Circle - Apple HomeKit (only) Camera and currently there is a future software update to get these suckers to work and honestly I had spent $159 each (i got 2) and honestly the camera is great and its potential is good but being that its tailored to work ONLY with homekit and it now requires a software update (YEAH, that software update) and we just recently had 2 of them, they dont work. So looking at this video I realized I could get what I want for MUCH LESS. Thanks for the VID!
Well, darn. Wyze missed out with that horrible audio. The other features, though, were so much better than Blink. Perhaps, if audio is an important feature, one could buy 1 of each camera and use them side by side? Is that even possible? Or perhaps look for another camera close to the price that it would cost to buy these 2 camera's... that has all of the good features. Sad part is that when you watch all these reviews, and read product reviews, it seems like every camera is missing at least one useful feature, no matter what the price range is. But, if I have to stick with a $35 - $40 price range, I'd pick the Wyze. I prefer the picture quality over audio quality. Let's face it, will a criminal do much talking anyway? The picture quality is what will help identify the bad guy, more so that the audio. At least, that's what I think. 🤷♀ As always, Steve, love the way you do your comparisons. It really is helpful. Thanks.
Steve, excellent video. I'm looking at just having security capability for when I leave home for a few days at a time. Audio not an issue, no kids, no pets, nobody at home. The Wyze looks to be the winner for me. So either would alert me if there was motion, correct? Thanks again.
No, good wifi is not suitable word. You have to have super excellent fantastic wifi so regular good wifi has no connection with cam each day and as result it becomes useless piece of plastic until to set up everything over and over again.
Mine worked fine with T-Mobile 5G Home Internet when I had it. Try a different, simple network name (not hidden) and password with standard letters and numbers.
Blink camera is good in the day but night time sucked and you Only get 30 sec I Did like the 💯💥 the other poor Audio don't won't that at All 😂 thanks for the update Video Brother have a Blessed Sunday ✌🏿❤️😊
The wyze audio is not excellent but mine is better than the demo you did. I use it to talk to the kids sometimes. It also has sound detection and a cool feature of detecting home alarm sirens. Just one thing: FOr the Wyze cam to use the SD, it MUST be 32gb or less. It won't work with 64 or above. Weird but true
Wyze audio has a low quality vs Blink but I like the night vision better then blink but you can put motion lights inside the house so it can help with the lighting, I don't know about exterior tho :/ I'll probably get the Wyze for outside and use the Blink inside.. Thank you

Overall I would have to agree the Wyze with the exception of the audio blew blink out of the water. I do have one of those blink cameras I got on a promotion with an echo show 8. I use it indoors and I’m not sure where the issue is but the camera may or may not detect motion. It seems to have a mind of its own. I’ve heard this is an issue with this camera not sure if you’ve heard anything about it. To do it again I would really look at the Wyze and see if it fits into my lifestyle.

You haven't talked about the IR customizable settings on the Blink mini-cam neither about the video quality that are customizable; neither have you talked about the notification messages on cell phones nor tablets...
I could give two shits, but there's definitely some bias in the night vision shot. I have the Blink mini, just it for free today for some Amazon Prime Day promo and I can tell you right now that you had the IR low on the Blink mini in those shots. It hasn't even gotten dark but I've tested it in a dark room and your IR is NOT set comparably to the Wyze, and that's just deception.

6:51 If you have an SD card in the Wyse, or use the Blink Sync Module 2, does recording stop while in live stream view?
So the wyze V3 has 24/7 recording on a SD card & don't have any fees to view? Also how's the motion sensor detection on them are they sensitive?
@@pizzadave9812 do you have to delete the footage on the SD card when it's full or does it just start recording over it?
@@charellepizzotti6834 you don't have to do anything
It literally changed my mind! Going with the Wyze
Same!
Thanks Steve. Very interesting(and educating).
I'll go for the Wyze. Wider angle of view and the low light capability.
Terrific comparison. I'm getting Wyze.
Got 2 for the price of 1 at HD a few days ago. Can’t beat that price!
I can't express how bad the audio is for the Wyze cams. I use them for @RoscoeSqueaks videos, and am trying to figure out which camera to switch to. Blink doesn't seem too great either, but better than Wyze as far as audio! I wish I saw this before getting the Wyze cameras.
You did not cover wi-fi coverage?
Do the Wyze Cam V3 has to stay plugged in at all times? Also, is there a backup battery inside the Wyze Cam V3?
It is more important for me to see what is going on than to have clearer audio, although having both crisp and clean would be most ideal. I would go with Wyze.
I like the WYZE, but the audio is so bad I would go with the Blink. For me, I want it to monitor a loved one with dementia, so audio communication is key.
Definitely the eyes camera for me your video helped me decide as I was between the two cameras. The audio is a little bit of a disappointment but overall the wyze camera seems to be the one. Thanks for the video very informative
I'de preffer Blink mimi. Thanks! 👍
Very well gone. Helped decide which to buy.
Great, good luck!
Does Yi' have 24/7 live view?
@@MalcombMedia1 I keep my Yi cameras running on my pc at home 24/7, and another set of Yi cameras at an elderly family member's home running 24/7 on another pc, to monitor their health. I use the desktop app from Yi, without paying for a subscription. My house has 8 cameras running, and the other has 6. Both home have different camera groups assigned, which makes switching from say back yard to front yard a simple click. You can assigned whatever variety of cameras you want to groups and name them, view them individually or view up to 9 together at one time.
Wyze Cam V3 for me
Nice video...luckily for me anyways, audio is far down the list as usable options.
With that said...Wyze takes the bobbie prize...
Wyze needs to make V4 have a better mic. Also need to fix the occasional camera freezes that we get every so often. Hate having to unplug them to reset.
My cousin has those freezing issues too. I’ve never had that issue with the 5 cameras I’m using. Weird.
Thanks for the video...I'll buy the Wyze camera 😊
Good video. Thanks.
If I want wyze's video quality and blink's audio quality, is there any recommendation?
For the Wyze, will it record onto the SD card even if no wifi?
Yes. It will
So is there another similar camera which also has SOUND detection / activation??
very well done tests and video.
got the info i needed to decide.
Steve i just bought a blink mini to keep an eye on my mom but can never hear anyone talking it sucks any suggestions on how to fix that
I have a Logitech Circle - Apple HomeKit (only) Camera and currently there is a future software update to get these suckers to work and honestly I had spent $159 each (i got 2) and honestly the camera is great and its potential is good but being that its tailored to work ONLY with homekit and it now requires a software update (YEAH, that software update) and we just recently had 2 of them, they dont work. So looking at this video I realized I could get what I want for MUCH LESS. Thanks for the VID!
Thanks for the comment!
As always, Steve, love the way you do your comparisons. It really is helpful. Thanks.
I agree Wyze is better, I do recommend an NVR system such as reolink for security purposes but something like this is nice to check in on pets
thanks for the comment!
Since I live in an apartment, I purchased two Mini Blinks, and It give me all I need to secure my apartment.
Do you have a review for the Wyze 3 Pro yet? Let me know. Thank you
Did you test the sensor on the Blink Mini?
Steve, excellent video. I'm looking at just having security capability for when I leave home for a few days at a time. Audio not an issue, no kids, no pets, nobody at home. The Wyze looks to be the winner for me. So either would alert me if there was motion, correct? Thanks again.
Also do you get any kind of credit if ordered through you somehow? Thanks
Excellent demonstration!!!!
Wow I wanted wyze to switch out of yi but that audio. Damn. I got a blink sitting in a box right now 😢
Can you hang the Wyze upside down from the roof and it will rotate the picture the right way thanks
Yes, all Wyze cams can be flipped easily in the app.
@@isabellavision Thanks from Canada
hello, do I need wifi or anything like that to use these cameras? ty
Yes, you need good wifi on the 2.4 Ghz band (most routers have this).
No, good wifi is not suitable word. You have to have super excellent fantastic wifi so regular good wifi has no connection with cam each day and as result it becomes useless piece of plastic until to set up everything over and over again.
Truly a shame about the Wyze audio. I really hope they improve that with later models.
The Wyze seems like the winner but why is the audio so bad on the Wyze?
Could you please compare low budget but 4K cameras?
Have you done anything on the Arlo go 2 cameras ?
Retuning the blink lol thank you!
Whoaaaa.....Wyze nightvision is way better than Blink!!! Thanx, I've made my choice.
Do you know if the wyze works with TMobile 5g internet. Or any camera? Tried using 2,4 on a previous camera and won't connect. Thanks
Thank you! 👍❤️🙏
Also, There is a workaraound to get the WYZE cams on a Fire stick TV and you can tell Alexa to show you live feeds.
Wyze audio has a low quality vs Blink but I like the night vision better then blink but you can put motion lights inside the house so it can help with the lighting, I don't know about exterior tho :/
I'll probably get the Wyze for outside and use the Blink inside.. Thank you
can you mix blink and wyse cams and view both of them up on your amazon assistant? I ask this becuase it has something to do with the rstp... I really need good audio to catch an verbally abusive person in action. blink sounds better than wyse in my opinin... so I thought it might be cool to find out it the wyse and the blink can be viewed on amazon assistant
I would like the answer to this question too. Come on someone must know?
@@curlysue3620 I tried the wyse cam with the free app It was not good bad audio and choppy picture ... I sent it back within a week... bought 2 cheap mercury 720k indor cams and with an sd card slot...they have constant stream and its not choppy... I even watch/listen to televsion with one... Havent tried to retrieve and view whats on the sd yet... but they do have the record option button to press when you are in the app and the app works! They are called Mercury you might have to look buy them used or reconditioned check FB or Ebay... you do not have to pay $1 for a subscrition like with the wyse cams which dont work for a hill of beans according to me from what I have experienced...
Thank you for the video!
Is blurams better then wise
Are there any cameras with good audio quality like blink?
you saved me from a bad purchase, thanks man
Overall I would have to agree the Wyze with the exception of the audio blew blink out of the water.
I'm sending the mini back
@@robbiematthews1517 I did contact blink support and they did replace it. New one working a lot better Albeit not perfect. Found their technical support people excellent to work with.
I bought a blink cam without looking at this video.. I agree with everything you said. But I will stick with what I have to late now \
I have Blink and Arenti. I love the Arenti but audio on this ain't that great either. I like it better than Blink because you can see farther and don't have to keep hitting the continue button like Blink. Please do a review on Arenti. I think I'm gonna try out the Wyze camera.
You haven't talked about the IR customizable settings on the Blink mini-cam neither about the video quality that are customizable; neither have you talked about the notification messages on cell phones nor tablets...
Wyze is looking like the choice!
I am a happy customer!
i would have say the Blink would one i go for keep up your Greatvideos🙂
Thanks for the comment!
Looks like Wyze has a bit of a wider view? That is plus!
Dang I bought the two pack of the blink cams I got them for $29.99. I figured $15 a camera was a pretty good deal.
Almost looks like you’d need both 🤣
Great video thanks for doing this 😁
