    I bought the Eufy C24 Indoor Cam plus the window mount after watching your great review, I have a bay window that I have installed the cam on. It's perfect to monitor my driveway and car, It also gives a different lowdown view than my other camera that is looking down onto the drive ......

    Thanks for the review, I was happy to see your update of the Panasonic camera. I actually do not think the no audio is a nagative. Maybe I am a little paranoid, but I prefer not having an open mic running inside my home. I use the Eufy currently on a window and I disabled the mic and audio in the settings.

      It is better to have this option and not use it…than needing it and not having it. For example, you are out of the house, you can set the wyze cams to listen for your smoke and CO alarms.

      @LifeHackster  Рік тому +9

      @@keithblackwood4475 If they are battery powered, they will not because battery powered wifi cameras uses PIR motion detector which doesn’t work through glass. Wired or plug in cameras uses camera based or pixel based detection and uses what the camera sees and they work thru glass.

    One of the most annoying things about security cameras is the trend toward subscriptions based services. Even if the camera offers basic services without a subscription, it will be severely handicapped. I never cared about remote access or cloud recording, but that shouldn't mean that camera functions should be limited from using the full capability of its hardware without a subscription. I get subscriptions if you want cloud recording and remote control, but doing something like knock your HD camera down to 480p recording on your own SD card or over your private network is stupid.

    Loved this. I used an Amcrest 1080P PTZ for keeping an eye on the backyard of my 2nd home. To get around IR glare, I turned it off, kept the light-blocking drape closed behind it, and installed a good motion detecting light that covered the yard. It worked - but these window-mount cameras are a better deal - albeit not PTZ. My main home as a dozen POE IP cameras feeding an NVR that let me keep an eye on the entire property. Getting 3 of them going on the shed that's 150' from the house required ethernet over power line adapters as I didn't want to dig another trench to the shed for Cat5. It works well enough to capture frequent deer invasions. I'd never have messed with cameras, but for a thwarted smash and grab attempt on my elderly dad who lived here first and I installed some wifi cameras on the driveway and door for his peace of mind. When I retired and moved in to take care of him, I upgraded the entire system because he got real joy out of seeing me work to care for the property when he couldn't any longer. I did however rebuff his request to put a camera on the hot tub where the wife and I like to unwind before turning in. Thanks for the great review!

      I do this. I have a Yi Home camera setup with 5 cameras. I have an old ipad on a stand next to the bed that shows the feed from one of my cameras all night. Yi (or the sub brand Kami) have apps for Android and iPad that will run a long time, unlike the Amazon Echo Show which times out after 10 minutes of showing video (very disappointing). The Yi stream would run all night for years, but the past few days sometimes it shuts off after a few hours and you have to click the screen to refresh. I am not sure if that is a change at Yi, or my internet. The Yi offers 2 way talk, btw. I do have a subscription to Yi, not sure if you need that to see the constant stream.

    I think overall without having to worry about needing extra lights, the v3 comes out on top for price/value/performance
    It's a shame the V3 is the one that has A LOT OF stuck IR filter issues from what I see on the wyze group. they clearly have some internal mechanical problems with that camera.

    • @XSemperIdem5
      @XSemperIdem5 Рік тому

      If you're just using it through a window though you wouldn't be turning IR on and shouldn't encounter that filter getting stuck issue. It doesn't excuse it being an issue that should be addressed by the company but if you won't be using IR, it could be a good option. It's definitely an issue if you're mounting it high up outside since you either need to give it a few good whacks or apparently use a magnet to unlodge the suck filter if just switching it on and off won't fix it.

      @z352kdaf8324 Рік тому

      You can usually use a magnet to move it, but that doesn't help you if you needto be there to switch it. :(

    • @PatrickC139
      @PatrickC139 Рік тому

      @@XSemperIdem5 yes you're correct. You won't be turning on IR if you're simply using it as a window base camera so it probably still is the best of the bunch for this kind of situation.

    If you do not want an outdoor light on outside. What about an IR emitter light outside.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  Рік тому

      You can do this with the wyze because you can separately turn off IR and black and white night vision. With the eufy, when you turn off auto night vision, it will be in color which IR emitter will have no effect.

    You should clarify and love your videos. I called Eufy support for c120/C24 solo indoor mounted flush through glass. They mentioned when set to continuous recording and IR/Night vision turned off with SD Card with outdoor lighting on at night or daytime EUFY RECORDS Motion CONTINUOUSLY BUT THEY DO NOT SEND MOTION DETECTION NOTIFICATIONS. The tech said that would be true for most indoor cameras through glass both day and night..NO MOTION DETECTION NOTIFICATIONS..is that true based on your experience??

  • @linden5576

    So I purchased the EUFY indoor camera to hook up to my window to look outside. I got all the products that you had suggested it K’NEX good and all of that I even got the SanDisk. My problem is turbo if it’s not bright, light out side, then the Red lights on the camera come on and I don’t know how to turn them off I know how to turn one but I can’t turn off like the round circle of red lights so it just reflects on the window. I can’t figure out either I’ve got a put something black all the way around except for the little circle of the round camera in the center or I don’t know what to do. I wanna use it when it’s daylight out?
    When I needed to have a camera in my garage, I use the baby monitor left a small light on and set up the baby monitor and then the little screen part was connected in my bedroom so I could just look on there and I can look out in the garage and see everything in color And I had a two way audio and it ran on Wi-Fi that works really good but I wasn’t getting a very good Wi-Fi signal so sometimes it would fall in and out of Wi-Fi. But all in all it worked really good. I had it out there for two years. But I was hoping I could use this AU FYI camera and hook it onto the glass to look out in a blind spot area. But if there’s no light, then the lights, some of the lights stay on and you just get this back glare. So I’m at the point now where I’m trying to figure out what kind of like can I put there saying that there’s no electrical outlet if I have to install the light just for a camera to look out the window I might as will just install the camera with the light resident go through all of that.😂

      Go to video settings and turn OFF "Night Vision" to get rid of the circle of LEDs. However you will need an external light to get a video....floodlight with PIR or something.

    Does the Eufy C24 motion detection work on pixcel movement or IR detection? I want to monitor my vehicle through a window but would like it to only record when motion is detected and I heard that the IR option wont work through glass. Thnaks.

      @@LifeHacksterThanks man. Car keeps getting vandalised so I want to set up a camera in my bedroom window to keep an eye on it. It's under a street lamp so hopefully lighting should be good. Tried the same set up using an old Arlo battery camera I have but the IR glare is horrendous at night (can't switch it off) and it won't detect movement through the glass. Going to give the Eufy a try. Thanks for your help and quick reply 👍
