You should look in the camerat tilt shift. That way you can move the camera on Y-axis and keeping verticals vertical. It will also help with getting nicer framing sometimes. Its mostly used in architectual shots. But i think for this should it would work as well
Omg, you explained it very simply! It's really easy to understand. Thank you so much! I've always wanted to learn these.
I have been looking for this method for years!!! Thank you!
With your videos my learning curve will shrink drastically. Thank you.
i didn't expect the result are vey good then expected. impressed. look's perfect. just adjust the variable inside world tab. done. thanks for making this video. really useful.
got it installed but errors when importing hdri
Thank you so much for sharing valuable knowledge. I was searching this for long time
your tips and tutorials are the best, thank you 🙏🏻
Another great helpful tutorial.... with lots of helpful tips.
So thankful good man
Super useful adding. Thanks for spreading the word
Thank you very much for all of your useful tutorials 👍👍
Wow. That works really well. I was having so much difficulty matching a plane to the HDRI image - even for a snow scene. This takes care of it instantly.
very glad my video helped!
@@BlenderDaily how do i use hdris from my own pc ? pls help
Bro if hdri save in pc then how we do this??@@BlenderDaily
Same issue@@pranjalrathor
back in and recently got soft soft again, it felt strange and i had previously just taught myself the software. Finding your videos is helping
just now was trying to figure it out the shadow catcher and a way to make the world look more "real", now i i can! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!
Another great and useful video, thank you !
You are one of my favorite Blender teachers!
Great work mate🎉, keep posting videos like this 🙌🏻
Thanks, will do!
@@BlenderDaily Thanks for this, but how do we add HDRis that are already on our computers, I already have half of the HDRis from Haven :)
Really nice! Thanks from Brazil!
Very nice tip on how to add shadows, thanks!
very nice tutorial and it is so simple to use
The best soft soft tutorial ever!
Very helpful, thank you!!!
Oh man this is so easy and fast, thank you, insta subbed. I was struggling with the hard method of making a sphere and projecting the inside of the sphere and then flattening the bottom and the entire scene looked warped ..etc a complete headache. Thank you
Me too...
bro how he make the node background please help me
Amazing video, thank you for sharing!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for helping us.
glad you find it useful!!
Thx .Nice easy beginners guide. helped plenty!
wow this was great! Thanks so much.
great one there, i will try it for sure!!!
Yeah, it is a lot of fun:)
Nice job man, seems like soft soft has gotten a lot more complex since the fruity loops days that I rember. Very helpful, thank you.
bri i cant see the shadow catcher in visibility option please help me!!!!
Always useful videos you guys! Thanx!!
glad you find it useful !!
Awesome tutorial, thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was awesome thanks!
This is amazing! I've been looking for a way to solve precisely the HDRI projection issue so you can make animations where the camera moves and not have objects slide off the ground. I prolly won't use the addon permanently, and if it's simple enough I may just extract the nodes used by the world editor to fix the mapping.
Very nice. A little advice - you can press Shift-~ when you rotate a camera (inside a camera).
TY Nik!
That's EXACTLY what I was looking for but, as a noob, didn't know how to express!! Thank you so much!! HDRI environments have always annoyed me for this "floating" reason!!!
Great to hear!

Superb, keep it up
you saved me a lot of time, thank you
it doesn't work though?
Amazing thank you
Thank you, Sir, you are The Best
Very much useful, afraid to use shadow catcher earlier
Awesome video thank you for the link to a useful tool + a great explanation.
Small English pronunciation thing: generally "A" a vowel followed by a consonant then E right after you use long vowel sound A pronounced like its name A as in pay or day so scraper ( a thing that scrapes the surface or takes from a surface). SCRAP in English means to make into garbage/jettison or abandon as useless. Scrapper would be a thing that makes something into scrap and I don't think you intend that use here.
Please do no take this correction as a slight or criticism. I once lived in a foreign country where I had to learn the language.
I ALWAYS wished people would just correct my pronunciations rather than shyly be amused by my accent without explaining why they were amused.
Love your vids.
Congratulation, excelent video
This is perfect. what ı was looking forrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wowww I didnt know nodes are the way to do it...
A good addon, I saw a similar one but paid. By the way, this HDRI photo was taken in Russia)
didn’t know that:)
@Spaceman John Просто знаю
@Spaceman John Что какие?)
Oh wow really that's crazyyyyy!!!
@@zuowa не факт, может быть и страна СНГ. Поверьте в Казахстане тоже такая архитектура сохранилась)
Thank you so much
thank you so much for this, im gonna go make huge blender legos rn
man's a life saver
really nice add -on..Is there a way to add HDRI's without using PolyHaven I have a HDRI add on pack I purchased and i want to use HDRI's from this pack instead on PolyHaven How do I do this in LilySurface
Thanks ❤
drums softing good start learning how to make your own lodies. Good luck bro!
One other little thing Ive just noticed is that I thought it odd you had to scale the car up as it shouldn't need scaling in a normal HDR, but it is because this plugin scales the world by 20x which means you have to scale the models 20x to make them 'fit' the scene. I set the scaling to 1 and it works fine.
So you set the hdri scale 1 or the models' scale to 20?
thanks buddy!
:))
Thank youu so much
Nice tutorial but one thing would make it more realistic, the shadow catcher properties. When you turn off glossy rays it also prevents the shadows cast from being reflected in the object (try it with a chrome cube). What I do is copy the entire node setup from the world to a ground plane, swap the background node for a principled BSDF so it receives light, change the texture coordinate output to reflection and set the mapping Z axis to minus 1, set the plane to shadow catcher and you should now have shadows on the ground that are also visible in the car as the shadow catcher is now identical to the ground from the HDR. You can even add a little shininess to the principled BSDF and have reflections of the object in the ground. Works for me but Im sure someone more knowledgable can find a better way of doing this.
Very very very underrated comment 🥳
It makes sense. Where can I find a tutorial about this? Thanks.
Yes this!
thanks
Useful Addon. Really makes life easier.
What if it's an interior scene and you have to place an object on say coffee table / bookshelf / side table, etc.?
Taking it one step further, what if there are 2, 3 such surfaces at different heights? Can I use this addon in some way to take care of two or more surfaces at different heights?
may have to go another route.
ikr!
Bro it’s very intimidating! I’ve been slacking on it for a month now. The symbols are very confusing. You have to train your mind to
nice
Vielen Lieben dank!!!!
amazing video bro but how to fix the hdri streached out? edit: i just had to plug the vector to the direction as well...
great add-on(and video obviously:-))...I lost one day in various f...ing tutorial about shadow catcher and finally this pearl...thanks.
PS. with sphere glass material i see the plane in reflection...someone answer?
Nice tutorial, thank you. Does this add on create a dome in fact ?
It doesn’t add geometry. It is all done by transforming the coordinates of the HDRi, but I haven’t really checked how it works in detail yet:)
Sir please make video on building distruction scene in blender
Very helpful and much needed tutorial, Nick! You’re a nice sport. Any tips on how to make the 3D object blend in more with the rest of the HDRI environment? I’ve modeled a rock but (although it looks great in that environment) it stands out, because it’s: too in focus compared to other objects which is a bit unrealistic. I’ve tried importing an 8k hdri, which did make the transition somewhat smoother, but I’d really appreciate your advice
thanks! that's a hard one. Maybe add particles around it like grass or debris to hide the seams? Or add another ground plane with an image texture? Hope this helps:)
@@BlenderDaily Danke Schön, Nick! I’ve thought about adding 3D grass, too, but it’s somewhat advanced for me at this point. What steps could I take to make the outline of this granite rock (it’s a headstone) less in focus, or blurrier so to speak? Thanks! Much respect from Russia
@@randomwalker1024 Maybe u can add an empty and put the depth of field to the empty and play with it. It will make your subject blurrier.
@@kartist2455 thanks, it does sound promising. I did think about implementing some volume around the object but had no wherewithal to formulate it the way you did. How do I locate depth of field? In the render settings?
@@randomwalker1024 click on camera in your screen, then go to the properties tab and click on object data properties (video camera icon) . Check depth of field and select the object of focus there( empty). Increase the f-stop to make things blurrier(see in camera view)
TQ bro, for room space hdri can i use this add on?
If you like the content I create it would mean a lot if you could check out my Patreon page (www.patreon.com/blenderdailytips ). Thanks a lot for your support!
The link is misspelled :)
Hi Sir :) Can you make a tutorial for Blender Asset Browser how to use it accordingly? Please
@@MapacheD thanks for letting me know! fixed it:)
If you know? That this ground technique can be a substitute or a backup addon from the HDRI Maker addon, which has extraordinary costs ...
But for HDRI, of course you have to download it again, but it's not that difficult anymore.
i could not get it to work right, its perfect from above, but at an angle the hdri on the ground distorts. i tride scaling the car up or hdri down, same results. until i use the green groundhdri node and the bottom offset values, scale these down, for me it was -12.780.
hey can somebody help me, after i add the HDRi to my project, when i want to render it, it just black with no HDRi in the background.
Thank you...
You're welcome!
cool👍👍👍👍👍
has anyone compared this to using a half dome? - which is better? or how do they compare?
how do you render with gpu compute without crashing
