If you’ve ever worried that your life is passing by too fast, this is the reason why. Most of your day feels like it passed in the blink of an eye because you forgot doing it, because you were autopiloting your daily routine. Be a rolling stone always, experience as many new things as possible. We only get one ride, after all.
Honestly a lot of filmmaking/philosophy people on social media rub me the wrong way, but i think the way you presented this, more as an educational show, than a youtube video, completely negates that almost pretentious feeling the other ones give me. I dont know why, but i love it so much
Ted Talks meets National Geographic and they get stoned for a bit, make love, get married, buy a house, have a kid, both lose their jobs in the recession, they argue and divorce. Then that kid grows up and decides to make the world a better place.

I think this is also highly related to why people think that time goes faster when one gets older. The older we become, the more we create routines for ourselves, paying less attention to our day-to-day experiences. Resulting in remembering less of those experiences and thinking that time is moving faster.
There is also the fact that as time passes, each passing second is a smaller percentage of our lives than it was when we were children. For example, having to wait a year for something when you are 5, is 1/5th of your entire life, which feels like a really long time. But nowadays, at 29, if I had to wait a year for something, it wouldn't feel like that long and would most likely come around pretty quick.
The CINEMATIC STUFF HERE is unbelievable, it really adds to your short message. It’s true, you remember the crazy and thrilling and hard inducing things in life. Anything mundane is just a means to get by. If anyone is thinking of doing something but is scared to leave the shell. Do it, it’s a calling.
I started writing a memoir, and I stopped because I couldn't retrieve the memories; well, maybe the one that changed my existence. I was locked out of the house when I was 11, and my parents were inside. I was crying heavily, thinking why they weren't letting me in. I came home late, "big deal," but it was a big deal to them. So they taught me a lesson after lesson. It still didn't sink in. I realize now the memory is there. We must search for it; like skipping a smooth, flat rock over a sound pond. It's like the ripple effect. One memory and then another and then another, and before you know you are 10 pages deep in a memoir. I have to admit: your telling of the ideas is compelling and functional for this space. It's what the world really needs. I have subscribed. I like the tree episode because, as someone who is from Vancouver Island, I have to say trees are empirical for all.

He’s essentially saying that there isn’t anything “wrong” with your memory so there’s no need to “fix” it. Instead of fixating on something we can’t change, we should strive to do new things so that we accumulate as many memorable moments as possible. There are, of course, patterns and rituals we can follow to remember things, but we eventually become so used to doing them that they disappear from our memories like our day to day lives do.
This guy ain't telling me how to fix my memory, he just inspired the hell out of me, like I'm completely shocked by every frame of the video, he made my evening, he made my day, possibly started a whole new chapter of my life, now I will fall asleep with this piece of art on my mind
