"Very black" for most Thai people means "mâi suai = not beautiful" .

You don't need any effect at all... I don't want to watch your unnatural face... You're always such a beautiful Thai teacher.
The word creepy comes to mind.
If Thai don't say 'Suai mai', then why do Thai teachers teach those words to foreigners? Isn't that teaching the wrong words?
That's why I stopped going to Thai classes because what they teach is not what Thai speak in real life.
What I teach in the first lesson is informal spoken Thai that Thai people use with friends. If you talk to someone who is not your friend or in a formal situation you can say สวยไหม suei mai. :)

English teacher: This is how you should ask someone out.
