5:20 the cartridge is just dirty most likely. That happens sometimes with used games, i have a gba and the Nintendo text also goes nuts when the contacts are loose
Im not going to be surprised if i see purplethunder living in a cardboard box on the side of the road after spending all of his money on such masterpieces
The Emerald seems to be a real cardridge. The best way to get it to work is probably to take it apart and clean the contacts with some isopropyl alcohol. That usually fixes issues like the one in the video.
One time I bought ultra sun for like 30 bucks and when I got it, it had the entire story, completed, the game opened opened in front of the ultra wormhole rift, and it had a COMPLETE Pokédex. If Luke is reading this, you’re a real one 🙏🙏
5:16 I did that stupidly as a kid. I left my gameboy advice sp turned on and closed before I went fishing with my family one time, when I came back home it was completely dead and turned off and kid me was very surprised by that lmao 😂
I once bought a Pokemon Diamond cart from a flea market. It had no label, instead sporting a custom paper label that said "Pokemon Diamond ♦️." The save on it had several shiny legendaries in the box, as well as a bag with *multiple full stacks of masterballs.* Was fun to stumble onto a hacked save, but I ended up deleting it.
Q tips and rubbing alcohol have been used to clean electronics forever. Clean the cartridge with some ISP, then insert and eject the cartridge from the system. Depending on how dirty the system or cartridge is you may have to repeat the process. You can also use ISP on a Q tip to clean the slot that the game goes into.
I'm one of the developers of the Moon Black 2. Absolutely did not expect it to appear here. Looks like it might be an old version though... Edit: Yeah that's an old build compared to what we have been working on. Though, I think it's technically using the 3rd latest public update? I dont remember
@@PurpleThunderNE I'm sure if I put you in contact with Aster, he'd probably accept, but I don't know lol. If you're ever curious about the hack, check out the server for it. We still post teasers occasionally and we're working on custom maps for it.
I can 100% guarantee you that kid was not shiny hunting LMAO. Thats not what kids do. He probably just got fed up while trying to catch the regis and sold the game or something.
I had a similar faulty Emerald cartridge that looked like that. The fake ones in 3rd gen also corrupt your save file when you finish the Pokemon League. The Sapphire copy you bought might have the same problem if you finish the game, which is probably why there wasn't any save file in there. I would know that from personal experience. Here's another fun fact: I physically own the Chaos Black version. It was somehow being sold on retail stores back then, and I was a dumb child for letting my dad choose what Pokemon game he'll get me for my Christmas gift. That bootleg literally has a soft-lock that prevents you from progressing through the cave after the first gym because they blocked the path with water tiles BEFORE you got Surf. I had to look up footage of FRLG to see if the way forward was different, and I was right.
I'm still reminded of the time I bought a fake copy of pokemon soul silver, thinking its real on eBay. Nothing said that it was fake and when i went to go back to that listing, it was gone. The fact that it was 30 dollars should have been a red flag but what set me off was the color, the way the carriage felt (a bit light) and the fact that i couldn't do the Voltorb flip without the game crashing. I kinda beat the game but, i stopped playing it as it seemed that my ds would flicker alot whenever i played it. Years later, I got a legit copy of heart gold (for 130 dollars) and I've beaten the whole game. Now I'm afraid to buy games from eBay.
Some of those Romhacks you showed are like old old ones I saw on UA-cam in like 2010 to 2012. They probably could be downloaded easily verses modern rom hacks and made it easy to sell.
I bet i could get emeraldto work it probably just needs to be cleaned you should do a video where you clean it and try it again seriously use a cotton swab with alcohol on it
@@PurpleThunderNE :( darn that's unfortunate maybe the pins went bad/need cleaning. I would LOVE a follow up if you ever do get it working. It would be so funny if it's a chaotic save file. Love your content hope to see more :)
7:18 only thing it can't do is transfer to gen 4 and may have an issue after saving the game after the elite 4 or so as alot of gen 3 fakes have this issue
I remember a couple years ago I wanted to play Pokémon back 2 and looked online for a copy. Every legitimate copy I found was $60 or more for a game that was probably $30-$40 on release. The cheapest one I could find was $40 but it said it was from Hong Kong so I bought it understanding the risk that it’s a bootleg. Game arrived an it was a gray ds cartridge with a microsd card in the top that said bomberman when I put the game in. However once the game started I realized it was Pokémon black 2 but all the secret events and the hard mode were already unlocked. So despite being a bootleg copy I could do things in that game that I definitely couldn’t have if I bought a legitimate copy. Basically what Ike trying to say is bootleggers fucking around with old Pokémon games are better at giving me what I want while gamefreak still hasn’t finished a Pokémon game in 12 years
Ok so my first pokemon games were on the gba and it hurts me watching this for only one reason. On the pokemon emerald copy when he rebooted the system after it froze on the load screen where he saw the old save file. And when he reloaded it. The words under gameboy couldnt be read. Its from accidentally bumping the cartridge when he was spinning the gba around as a joke about the old owner acting like its a ds. This issue was common on the gba if you bumped thr cartridge the slightest and i dont think this youtuber is bad for this. But i wish i was there to show him tbh. Also with the saphire copy there is fake ones like that but some good people found ways to print roms on gba cartridges so they bring back the old gba games. Y they dont get the proper cartridge idk. But as a psa not all are scams find a good provider
Lol can you tell this guy never played with a GBA? If your GBA Cart is well used chances are it's not going to boot up the first time. That's when you blow into the cartridge 50 times. And as for the Nintendo logo glitching or not showing up, that's just basically telling you that the cart didn't read properly and to try again. Most likely the reason why it froze on you again is because you are flipping the console around like a goober lol. If you've played GBA games for awhile you'd know to stop moving around so much because all it takes is one bump on that cartridge and you're losing hours of gameplay. No hate though lol great vid.
Really curious how they got working GBA games on a flashcart like that- I was under the impression you needed additional software for the actual GBA slot on a DS
Help me get to 100k subs !!!
20 k more to go🎉

diamond in the rough
Why did you delete the file? Did you at least transfer the pokemon on it to Pokemon home?
I would have backed up the file first before deleting it...

I was friends with a kid back in primary school who shiny hunted in both Emerald and Platinum on her DS Lite, so it's definitely a plausible theory 😂
maybe saved and quit for the day then never picked it up again or mom took it and sold it

The reason 23 in 1 crashed is because you used a nes emulator to boot up a gameboy game
i went thru all the emulators on the cart for some reason the gbc games only showed up on the nes emu 😭

23 in 1, what a game lol
editing and build up was great!
23 and me is the best pokemon game to drop in 2024
Loved the video! Also for Pokemon emerald just blow into the cart itself a few times and it'll work (it's a common issue with older GBA carts)
in the full video i do try to blow it out a few times and unfortunately no luck for keeping it on for long enough to play it
