Makima would be a great Batman villian. Morally her plan is to remove all bad things in the world, which largely sparked for her wanting something she never had, that being a family and lovedones. Batman tries to stop crime and to protect those who can't protect themselves which (usually) is because of his lose of his parents, and (originally) Batman's story had him gaining a family as a core part of his character. They contrast but Makima could see them as motivated by the same goal. Possibly trying to make Batman the new Chainsaw Man. And the plot could be devils are getting worse and worse in Gotham, so Makima goes over to set up a new Devil Hunting Branch, possibly funded by Wayne Enterprise. Till Bruse does more research on Makima, and determines she's the Control Devil. But during one night of simple vigilante work, a criminal Batman is going after explodes into blood as mouses are heard from behind Bats with a letter left on the ground simply written "Makima is listening, Bruce". And imagine a scene were Red Hood goea after Makima, dispiet Bats telling him not to. And as he kills her, he hears screaming outside and Makima rises from behind him. And then beats his ass with the crowbar devil or smth, idk. Plus Makima having a contract in both America and Japan for infinite(ish) lives would be insane. And Bruce going through the Weapon Devil Galory, and beating them all with ease due to planning before hand, would be sweet to see. Especially with how he'd confront the punishment devil. And maybe Makima can fight Joker and his goons, only to brutally murder each one (off screen knowing how she's written by Fujimoto) leaving Joker, just laughing as he tries to break Makima like he would any other super. But Makima having absolutely no emotional moral code, probably kills him too (not for long most likely, cause he's the Joker baby). Just saying, A non-cannon Batman vs Makima story would be damn cool.

Watching Batman with all his equipment and information trying to figure out who is Kira, and Light figure out identities of the villains to kill them, and also figuring out who is Batman, the guy who tries to stop him from killing villains will actually be fun
Batman would find Kira quickly though. Light is egotistical and used to the plot armor of room temp IQ detectives and selective hearing family, both of which Bruce is not. He'd think he's smart but slip up quick at the first monologue

I think Light constantly working to unveil Batman's identity for the Death Note and Batman racing to stop Light before he does so would be a great dynamic.
The only issue with this is that Dexter is literally just James Gordon Jr, who's already a part of Batman / Nightwing's rogues gallery, and he's literally Nightwing's version of Joker. It would just feel weird to have another version of that.
John and Batman’s dynamic would be so interesting because both are using their own ways to enact their own “justice” and with how Batman is you gotta think he’d understand it somewhat
Get one of his super buddies to back him up, people forget a lot of batmans contingencies rely on other heroes he’s friends with. Magical enemy? Call up Zatana, Dr.Fate, or John Constantine simple as that. Need magic and power? Call up wonder woman or shazam and bring the lighting. Batman is smart enough to know when to call for help to jump someone.

Batman’s detective ability varies greatly. If Dexter has to compete with Arkham Batman’s Detective Mode, specifically the Evidence Scanner, then Dexter is cooked. That reconstruction thing that shows Batman 100% accurate holographic projections is overpowered

Well... kinda. HE is the one dying, and he'd be working to provide for his family (assuming they come with him to Gotham City), at least at first. Frankly, unless this is last seasons-Walter, Batman promising to provide a trust fund for his family would be enough for Walter to surrender and cut a deal with the police. Hell, becoming famous as Heisenberg, the drug dealer who snitched on the drug distribution system in Gotham would also be something Walter enjoys (kinda like the Sidney Debris AKA The Squid / "The Man Who Almost Killed Batman"). I could also see Walter working as a chemist for some super-villain in exchange for a possible cure (which, considering the mad geniuses that populate the DC verse, could happen albeit they might also dismiss Walter as completely useless).
I could imagine something similar to a long halloween where Batman works on a case involving a serial killer, he becomes friends with Dexter. He respects his sense of justice, and then Dadadum! Twist. A Saw meets Batman video game would be dope.
They work so well because they're Batman's antithesis. All the "hero" work he does, but without the killing rules Batman sets up for himself. They aren't exactly heroes, but they think they are
It's funny when it comes to Jigsaw cause I always thought Jigsaw and his traps were what inspired the Arkham Version of Riddler. Him having these elaborate and downright sadistic traps just for Batman to test wits with. The one that I say could work for both Riddler and Jigsaw, was the riddler's Explosive headlight trap in Arkham city. All those cops being made to walk down a track fearing that if Batman's in their headlights they'd all explode.
I can tell you dont read comics, Batman was able to survive sitting on a chair that gives him infinite knowledge and kicked the wrath of God in the face.... He's too smart for Dex and would punt his jaw into the stone age

One interesting thing is that Bruce thinks of himself as Batman first with Bruce Wayne just being his public persona. So depending on how Shinigami eyes work, it might be that if someone with Shinigami eyes was to glance at a picture or video of Bruce Wayne they would see the word "Batman" floating above Bruce's head along with his lifespan. Which could lead to a twist where Light immediately knows who Batman is but doesn't want to kill him. After all, Light's original goal was to punish evildoers and villains. In this situation, he could have been inspired by Batman in his own twisted way, idolizing Batman's desire to bring villains to justice by not understanding why he lets them live. When the two finally confront eachother, Light could say something about how he understands why Batman doesn't kill and felt he had to do if for him. Then, funny enough, since a Death Note owner loses their memories involving the note once they lose it's ownership, Light would lose his memory of who Batman is since he got that information using the Shinigami eyes.
The problem with Kira vs Batman is that death note relies on there only being 2 smart people in the world. Batman doesn’t feel devoted to the law in the same way L does, and wouldn’t hesitate to arrest Light as soon as he figured out Light was Kira. The reason Light got away so long is because L had to go though the a whole process since he was dealing with official law enforcement and specifically lights father, which gave Light the time he needed to figure out they were onto him and make the plans he needed. Batman would not give him that time.
There's been a couple of UA-camrs who have done scenarios based on this. They typically give it to Batman but in my opinion it depends on who's hunting who first.

Light definitely is the most fitting because he is an example of why the role of the judge and executioner shouldn't fall under any single persons hand ! Makima would be a great Batman villian. Morally her plan is to remove all bad things in the world, which largely sparked for her wanting something she never had, that being a family and lovedones. Batman tries to stop crime and to protect those who can't protect themselves which (usually) is because of his lose of his parents, and (originally) Batman's story had him gaining a family as a core part of his character. They contrast but Makima could see them as motivated by the same goal. Possibly trying to make Batman the new Chainsaw Man.
And the plot could be devils are getting worse and worse in Gotham, so Makima goes over to set up a new Devil Hunting Branch, possibly funded by Wayne Enterprise. Till Bruse does more research on Makima, and determines she's the Control Devil. But during one night of simple vigilante work, a criminal Batman is going after explodes into blood as mouses are heard from behind Bats with a letter left on the ground simply written "Makima is listening, Bruce".
And imagine a scene were Red Hood goea after Makima, dispiet Bats telling him not to. And as he kills her, he hears screaming outside and Makima rises from behind him. And then beats his ass with the crowbar devil or smth, idk. Plus Makima having a contract in both America and Japan for infinite(ish) lives would be insane.
And Bruce going through the Weapon Devil Galory, and beating them all with ease due to planning before hand, would be sweet to see. Especially with how he'd confront the punishment devil.
And maybe Makima can fight Joker and his goons, only to brutally murder each one (off screen knowing how she's written by Fujimoto) leaving Joker, just laughing as he tries to break Makima like he would any other super. But Makima having absolutely no emotional moral code, probably kills him too (not for long most likely, cause he's the Joker baby).
Just saying, A non-cannon Batman vs Makima story would be damn cool.

Watching Batman with all his equipment and information trying to figure out who is Kira, and Light figure out identities of the villains to kill them, and also figuring out who is Batman, the guy who tries to stop him from killing villains will actually be fun
Batman would find Kira quickly though. Light is egotistical and used to the plot armor of room temp IQ detectives and selective hearing family, both of which Bruce is not. He'd think he's smart but slip up quick at the first monologue

The only issue with this is that Dexter is literally just James Gordon Jr, who's already a part of Batman / Nightwing's rogues gallery, and he's literally Nightwing's version of Joker.

Batman’s detective ability varies greatly. If Dexter has to compete with Arkham Batman’s Detective Mode, specifically the Evidence Scanner, then Dexter is cooked. That reconstruction thing that shows Batman 100% accurate holographic projections is overpowered

Well... kinda. HE is the one dying, and he'd be working to provide for his family (assuming they come with him to Gotham City), at least at first. Frankly, unless this is last seasons-Walter, Batman promising to provide a trust fund for his family would be enough for Walter to surrender and cut a deal with the police. Hell, becoming famous as Heisenberg, the drug dealer who snitched on the drug distribution system in Gotham would also be something Walter enjoys (kinda like the Sidney Debris AKA The Squid / "The Man Who Almost Killed Batman").
I could also see Walter working as a chemist for some super-villain in exchange for a possible cure (which, considering the mad geniuses that populate the DC verse, could happen albeit they might also dismiss Walter as completely useless).

It's funny when it comes to Jigsaw cause I always thought Jigsaw and his traps were what inspired the Arkham Version of Riddler. Him having these elaborate and downright sadistic traps just for Batman to test wits with. The one that I say could work for both Riddler and Jigsaw, was the riddler's Explosive headlight trap in Arkham city. All those cops being made to walk down a track fearing that if Batman's in their headlights they'd all explode.
Jigsaw from the Saw movies is basically the Riddler without Batman there to stop him.

Batman wouldn't let that happen he would be hunting light before light even knows plus if he did kill Bruce he'd have to deal with the bat family and justice league
One interesting thing is that Bruce thinks of himself as Batman first with Bruce Wayne just being his public persona. So depending on how Shinigami eyes work, it might be that if someone with Shinigami eyes was to glance at a picture or video of Bruce Wayne they would see the word "Batman" floating above Bruce's head along with his lifespan. Which could lead to a twist where Light immediately knows who Batman is but doesn't want to kill him.
After all, Light's original goal was to punish evildoers and villains. In this situation, he could have been inspired by Batman in his own twisted way, idolizing Batman's desire to bring villains to justice by not understanding why he lets them live. When the two finally confront eachother, Light could say something about how he understands why Batman doesn't kill and felt he had to do if for him.
Then, funny enough, since a Death Note owner loses their memories involving the note once they lose it's ownership, Light would lose his memory of who Batman is since he got that information using the Shinigami eyes.
The problem with Kira vs Batman is that death note relies on there only being 2 smart people in the world.
Batman doesn’t feel devoted to the law in the same way L does, and wouldn’t hesitate to arrest Light as soon as he figured out Light was Kira. The reason Light got away so long is because L had to go though the a whole process since he was dealing with official law enforcement and specifically lights father, which gave Light the time he needed to figure out they were onto him and make the plans he needed.
Batman would not give him that time.
