As a scout and spy main, you need a hud that cuts out all those frills, and really makes the important details big bright and readable. Rayshud is my personal pick, and other than being clean for those split second decision making moments, hovering your cursor over enemies as a spy gives the most important info right away with no difficulties. Defo reccomend.
I'll share two of the most legendary HUDs of the old days, which are Broesel HUD and PV HUD. personally I cannot live without PV HUD installed. as a bonus, it also changes the text on the Engineer's Build/Destroy PDA to "Build some shit" and "Blow shit up"
I use the Enhanced Default HUD, best one imo because it combines useful settings in other custom HUDs like centered metal/uber, but you want to keep the style of the default one.
Wanted to say a hearty thank you to Remyie for showcasing all these HUDs. As someone who has vision loss, having customizable HUDs makes TF2 more accessible and legible. Another hearty thank you to all the creators of these (and other) custom HUDs. Without your hard work, I wouldn't be enjoying TF2 as much or as often as I do.
@@ebicoTF And why exactly can't a display of information look stylized and nice? No really, tell me. Are you distracted easily? Do you have issues focusing on what's important? Because you sound like you do. Well I'm sorry, but my focus isn't as fragile and easily shattered as yours. You're the type of person I would imagine prefers the unbelievably bland design of modern cars in comparison to the works of art of 1950s era cars, simply because "they're safer".
@@ZoofyZoof Minimalistic HUDs literally do not take up as much space on your screen as Zeeshud, for example. I like seeing more of what's in front of me. I can focus fine, but what is the point of making it harder? Seems like we think "what is important" is different because I like to focus on the game and get HUD information as easily and cleanly as possible. HUDs (and cars) are obviously subjective so I was just explaining why people might like those HUDs. You do you. Seems like you're getting defensive for no reason and making up interesting hypothetical situations. keep all those salty thoughts in your head lil bro; check yourself. Living an angry life is not healthy! I believe in you
@@ebicoTF Stylistic HUDs literally do not take up as much screen as you think they do. They don't take up your field of view as much as so many people want to exaggerate they do. They don't cover up a single thing you would've otherwise seen with a minimalistic HUD, and that's a fact. That's all this is. An exaggeration. You think it blocks things when it doesn't and it never will. You need to google what it means to be defensive, because this isn't what it looks like. This is what it looks like to challenge someone, not be defensive. You claim that it takes up too much of the screen when it very clearly doesn't block anything at all. You sound like the one who's getting defensive, big bro. You're making arguments that aren't true, to justify using the same generic HUD re-posted a thousand times but with a different font style.
I'd definitely go for CoolHUD myself if I ever want to swap, since it's the only one in this list that actually tries to keep the artistic flare of the default HUD
Morehud and hypnotize hud are also really nice, worth for people to check out( I am a fan of the huds that show player names at the top of the playerboard)
what i really need is a hud that puts important info right next to the crosshair. as a huntsman sniper, *ESPECIALLY* meters. having the huntsman charge displayed around the crosshair instead of 30 miles away in the bottom right would be amazing.
I'll go with ToonHUD and VoidHUD. ToonHUD gives me so much customization while VoidHUD's design is delightful and, as a Medic main, helps me a TON with healthbars being a square and the Übercharge meter being a big number on my screen.
They are not really difficult to install and do not require anything else besides the actual hud files themselves. simply move the hud folder into your tf/custom pathway and it will work.
My first hud was LionHUD but I quickly switched to SpaceHUD it had really cool space themed wallpaper and it was kinda transparent. Then I tried ToonHUD as it was for me bit more faithful to vanilla than SpaceHUD, then I saw somewhere ZeesHUD I really liked it but I thought that N1teHUD was ZeesHUD so I downloaded it (I didn't know that hud was called zeeshud). Then it broke for some reason so I downloaded ZeesHUD (alpha V) and then I switched to ToonHUD again and now I think I might come back to ZeesHUD again
I still like Toonhud; I don't mind the problems, but I hope some of them get patched or something. Anyway, I prefer ToonHud since it's simple to use and customizable. If you're interested, I developed a TF2 x TFC hud. I have implemented some improvements, although the flaws are still present but less noticeable.
I'm surprised you didn't cover EVE hud because of how it stays true to tf2's toon-ish art style while also refining it for better gameplay and not being as clunky as the original. Definitely not being biased due to Muselk having it in his Tf2 videos and how I thought the game looked by default for a couple of years.
its either that alot of huds have been released this year or you just pick good huds because I went hud hunting and all of them with the exception of zeeshud looked bad. and here is this video giving me 5 huds that look great. gonna probably use N1TEHUD for now.
N1te's HUD is a popular custom heads-up display (HUD) for Team Fortress 2 that offers a sleek and modern design while still retaining the essential information that players need during gameplay. The first thing that stands out about N1te's HUD is its clean and minimalist design. The font and color scheme are easy on the eyes, and the HUD elements are arranged in a way that doesn't clutter the screen or distract from the gameplay. The player's health, ammo count, and other important information are prominently displayed, making it easy to keep track of what's going on in the game. Another great feature of N1te's HUD is its customizability. Players can adjust the size and position of various elements to suit their preferences, and there are several different color schemes to choose from. This level of customization allows players to fine-tune the HUD to their liking and improve their overall gameplay experience. In addition to its visual appeal and customizability, N1te's HUD also includes several helpful features that can assist players during gameplay. For example, the HUD includes a stopwatch that can be used to time objectives, and it also displays the status of various game modes and objectives. These features can be especially helpful for players who want to keep track of their progress or coordinate with their team. Overall, N1te's HUD is a well-designed and user-friendly HUD that can enhance the gameplay experience for Team Fortress 2 players. Its sleek design, customizability, and helpful features make it a popular choice among players who want to improve their performance and enjoy the game to its fullest.
Zeeshud's only problems are two ones: 1. It's very hard to find due to that the creator of the hud is a P word, and too many sites deleted zeeshud because of him being a P word. 2. it doesnt shows you the metal as an engineer.
i gotta be honest ive been rocking the stock tf2 hud since i started playing with no intentions on changing it. even if i did change it id get that half life 2 hud
I would of still prefer and love EveHud, if it was still being supported; not having the metal counter on the center or other options to do so besides the uber meter, truly hurts it to be a direct upgrade to the defaul hud.
Gotta say, Valve gotta sign up the guys responsible for coolhud. IMO it captures the feel of the game perfectly whilst being pretty usable and easy to read
Zeeshud is actually stylized while everything else is either just a modernized default hud or the same exact bland plain white text with no background.
Quick question: How do I switch between huds? For example, I have budhud on my game (not my actual hud) and wanted to switch to the toonhud. What do I have to do in order to do that?
i came here for doom hud!! WHERE IS IT?
its called DOShud
Same
Who do we have here
@@casiooooooo well well well casio didnt expect to see you here
Its actually the Wolfenstein 3D hud, it has a lives counter, which Classic Doom doesn't have.
I use LionHUD, it maintains the TF2 art style, but with its own spin
I really like that hud, only problem is whenever I open a crate it doesn't show me what I got till I see it in my backpack
7:09 This goes against everything I stand for
WORST COMBO!
oh wah wah overwatch 2 bad because it has a player base, grow up.
I honestly just prefer the default hud. Displays all the information I need in loud bold letters
too tiny and far from the center
I disagree and agree at the same time
Same here
Same bro.
honestly ive never found a reason to change it and it fits the style of tf2 pretty well and i like it.
I personally use sammyhud, it's just a minimalistic black and white hud. It's simple and isn't too busy
I've always wanted a custom hud for me and never found one that I actually like, but now I have because of your video. Thanks, dude.
I love BX Hud, the fact that's it really minimalistic and centred helps me focus and gives me crucial info all in one place

what do you think about flawhud
I've used Rayshud for a long time and I agree it's pretty good.
as a scout main i use classic hud and ill never change it
As a medic main idgaf about that I like huds that look cool
Well I do kinda care but I still select huds moreso because they look cool
i use Improved default HUD i never saw a problem with the default HUD and this HUD just fixes things and well improves it a bit as the name suggests

4:33 problem with this hud is when you play medic on MvM and use shield it start lags
Zeeshud has definitley been my go too hud for a while now.
One of my favorites is called hexhud. Been using it for months and I cant live without it.
yea seen that i use toon Hud about to try Digit hud
Havent heard of it. I'll try it sometime
Same here, it looks cool
Same, it looks pretty, its comfortable, and even the menu looks good, i was surprised it wasn't at least as the last one
bro i didnt know you are Turkish, Its nice to see tf2 content creators from my country, keep it up
I feel like it’s a crime that eve hud is not on here
nice video, how did you get that lighting for the intro and outro segments?
Mod (if I am not mistaken)
SFM
Reshade
Reshade
It's using the Reshade overlay
Thank you this video was very informative!
I wanna see more stylized huds pop up. Stuff like ZeesHud is very cool, and all the typical huds are just... empty, bland.
I feel the exact same way as you. I don't understand why minimalistic huds are popular.
@@ZoofyZoof because the whole purpose of a hud is to display information, not be a piece of art on your screen lmao

That ZeesHud mod has a No More Heroes 3 styled intro

zeeshud got me into huds rn
Oh so It was ZeesHud you were using in that other video
Flawhud is pretty good if you want a new HUD but don't want major changes from default

real
Doom hud called Doshud
Umm actually it isn't a "doom hud" it's from Wolfenstein 3d not doom
Extremely surprised you managed to get cute hud in there.
I don't know why but zeeshud look so good
Personally i use N1TEhud, it doesnt stray into too crazy terrirtory and it doesnt hurt my eyes as most other Huds tend to
personally i use the default min hud but these huds look like something I should try
Yeah same, I really never got interested into changing my HUD. But this video is giving me a little nudge to try one out.
I feel like zees hud is for the tf2 player who really wanted to play persona 5
2022 not a single person does pre jungle meet your match main menu hud
why would anyone
because its not possible ._.
1:00 little kid toucher XDDD
My personal favorite is m0rehud. Very clean. Like it's practically just health and ammo
Coolhud is my personal favourite. Still has the tf2 style
I remember using Masterconfig with AHud. I was laptop gaming, and I had a thing for simplicity and looking at my character's kit.
I'm having trouble downloading voidhud because the website refuses the connection
Can someone please help would be greatly appreciated
Where’s the hud from the thumbnail! I want doom hud
Question, wich of the 4 ZeesHud looks the best/the most like the video
Weirdcore hud is another stylized one, not my cup of tea, but another stylized one. Also, Zees reminds me heavily of P5 so... also that.
cutehud right after coolhud, the war continues on
should've mentioned LionsHUD. TF2 styled while still maximizing on readability and screen-space.

I've had to make changes to it due to the different hud elements during halloween, but besides that, it's pretty good.

On topic about half life huds, Black Mesa hud does it's job nice aswell
Ok now the real challenge. How many of these huds support the Scottish Resistance? I hate not seeing how many traps I have out.
any hud that is *not* like toonhud (which uses circles) should be able to.
"This is probably one of the most loved ones, For obvious reasons" those reasons are?
Zeeshud is actually stylized while everything else is either just a modernized default hud or the same exact bland plain white text with no background.

I use default hud is not confusing
you should have mentioned evehud! it fits the style of tf2 and is minimalistic at the same time!

Half life 2 hud basically team fortress classic hud
How do you get the nice looking graphics in the beginning?
Edit: I know you have to get reshape but what is the preset?
