Every time I rewatch this video I always forget that it’s initially just Blue and Fish enjoying semi-reasonable heavy reworks and that it eventually turns into basically a group of dudes grouped around a single monitor all cracking up at the Bleed Update of Summer 2025
I thought his idea for the family business was pretty good. The heavy being able to fire long range shotgun shots and using the speed boost to help him get closer to the fight seems cool. I would just rework it so that it is a higher damage single shot weapon that gives a boost duration more akin to the big earner so it is more meant for repositioning than fat scouting

The Caber change is actually a deep diss to valve: as the demo dies and respawns, the engi will have built a new sentry, the demo will forever be on a treadmill of destroying, dying, respawn and doing it all over again
It should be "Le Tortionnaire", since it's torturing both you for using it, and the enemy as they are forced to constantly bleed due to you spamming it at them whenever they get a health pack
Don't forget that everything suggested doesn't address the main grip people have with the class which is them being able to quick-scope light classes if they get close.

It's probably still bullsh!t anyway, but in a "okay, you get to bypass the normal nerfs I placed on snipers, but you'll get entirely different nerfs" kind of way.
Ullapool Caber: -10% swing speed, -40% weapon switch penalty. Press the reload key when the charge meter is full to perform a special melee attack (explodes on hit, 200 damage). Recharges in 30s. Meter is emptied on respawn.

Only medics can't kill you in one shot without a crit. Technically heavies, too...But that minigun will still shred you before you can get away if you're even mid-range.

If he was going for the Machina tracer rounds angle with the Sniper Rifles, then why not invert the Heatmaker? Have it fire off tracer rounds normally, then fire off "stealth" rounds when in Focus mode. Would it be very annoying still? Yeah, but at least you know the Sniper player _earned_ the right to be annoying for 10 seconds, instead of earning the right to show the entire enemy team where their hiding spot is.
Hell, part of issue of truly great snipers is that they can rapidly kill several players with quick scopes, making it deal less on body shots and tracer on charged shots just *incentivizes that playstyle* Least the inverse has player work to play into weapons visual design as a stealthy sniper if you want to use it to fullest

I just want to post a little update, not that anyone will see this: Grouch made a follow-up video where he apologized for two things. One was the first video's title, he says that the video was only meant for his personal server -- a server which does whacky events like "everyone's keybinds are randomized each life" -- and should have been named "Experimenting with TF2's weapons." The second was the Enforcer. He admits right out the gate that yeah it was a horrendous nerf and completely reverts it

You know what changes like the Eureka Effect reminded me of? Reading through the framedata and strategies regarding characters from JoJo: Heritage For The Future. You'd go through an entire list of utterly sick-nasty stuff that'd be absolutely broken in any other fighting game, only to get hit by "yeah also over half the cast is immune against his gameplan for most of the match lmao, he's bottom tier and if you throw someone, you get killed for hitting a move". The whiplash is palpable.
@@Spacebugg Hol Horse is pretty much exactly what I described here. His whole gameplan centers around knocking the opponent down and hitting them with nasty setups, often involving his glass shots (he can shoot the ceiling to make glass fall down). You have to block them standing, and since he can move as they fall, he can simultaneously hit you with a move you'd have to block crouching. So you're getting hit either way, it's unblockable. Same applies to his unblockable Slow Bullet super, if he shoots that thing out while you're on the ground and places it on top of you, you're eating the hit as soon as you get up. Nothing you can do about it, because you can't do anything but block for the first frame after you wake up from a knockdown in this game. Slow Bullet is an absurd move in general, it's what gives Hol a fighting chance. All in all, if Hol gets a good start, he can often just end the round from there by looping these things, and he also boasts suprisingly high chip damage. The problem is that a large chunk of the cast can just... turn both of these win conditions off. "Active Stand" characters can summon their stand to fight with them, and while it's out, they don't take chip and can't be knocked down. Same applies to Weapon Stand characters if I recall correctly. Meaning Hol, lacking great ways to open people up, has to resort to running away, zoning and trying to sneak hits in. But while his kit _is_ geared towards that, the low damage he gets off of hitting you if he can't do his loops makes this a very tough situation for him. The fact that Active Stand characters tend to be higher on the tier list doesn't help either. And yeah, his throw just... let's the opponent recover way earlier than you. They can punish you for landing it. I don't know why they made it that way.

Honestly, this is sounds like the most crazy shit ever You hop into a game and there's ninja snipers in cheeky spots everywhere, pyros are in a chokepoint creating a surprise touhou game. Heavy is speedhacking around the map, engineer is depressed his sentry gun is useless, spy is crying in a dark corner somewhere next to engineer. Half your team is caberknights constantly killbinding (They found a faster way to die than charging with their caber). And one free to play pyro on the team is happy he can finally bleed people with his fire axe.

I guess it ought to make the engineer immune to teleportation for a bit after every taunt teleport. Perhaps also allow taunt teleporting to the teleporter _entrance_ directly, as well.
the booties are OP so im cutting off demo's legs *but* it makes you die on respawn so the character doesn't have to suffer the psychological effects of bleed during the match
i dont actually play tf2 i just grabbed some random stats and made it pretty absurd. I do have a bit of knowledge about tf2 such as the max overheal being 1.5x the classes' hp but other than that i just threw together some random stats and an iconic weapon (the eyelander)

I’ve buffed the caber. When it’s used not only does it kill you no matter what health you’re at it also sells the entirety of your backpack to scalpers for a single strange caber while also signing you up for a escape room where they kidnap you within the next 2 hours
I do not want a Hitman's heatmaker sniper jumping higher than a Scout to reach absurd places that spies can't reach to backstab him as he's able to shoot us from literally Mount Olympus and just jump over a rocket if someone tries to shoot it his way.
@@TARINunit9 probably the only good change, because that is more damage than stock but can be mitigated with healing or a medic, so it's fair without technically outclassing stock, and is a good way to fight a pyro I guess if you aren't using the Dragon's Fury or any shotguns
@@silverdededestruction2197nah I don’t really think it’s that good of a change, pyro has the flame thrower, which has more range than the sharpened volcano fragment and also a reflect that can also do knockback. There is literally no point in using it unless you ran out of ammo or are fighting a pyro in which case you are still likely to lose the fight unless the pyro is using a weapon that doesn’t have airblast(plog)
When I saw the enforcer stat change I was like "surely the caveat to these nerfs is something cool like you don't lose disguise on shooting" so you sacrifice killing power for the ability to be an annoying mosquito in secret. No it's just a straight downgrade with no niche
That would actually be interesting change to see. Being able to fake fire at your teammates while disguised might make acting a bit more viable at the cost of reliable damage might (key word: might) be cool.
No you see your not accounting for the psychological damage your inflicting. I mean have you ever been shot before? It's very traumatic, and with each shot your imparting more and more trauma onto the player till they get PTSD. It's really a buff depending on your point of view

@@peterpanther23 The Pomsons main problem is the fact the projectile is completely broken nearby teammates at ANY distance it will be deleted. No other projectile acts this way. It used to penetrate teammates and buildings before Valve somehow messed it all up. Rn it forces you as the Engineer to stay away from your teammates which is very very bad. The projectile being slow was never the problem.

Sharpened volcano fragment makes zero sense because if you get cut with ORAGE HOT MOLTEN ROCK, then you'll probably gonna instantly cauterize the cut anyways, so how do you bleed??
I really appreciate him telling us his shower thoughts honestly, it was fun to hear. A few things were fun, like the urethra effect change. I think what might have ticked people off is his smarmy attitude and the animated spy stamping "BUFFED" or "NERFED", often contradicting when a weapon actually was made better or worse.
I think we ought to be a bit fair to his change to the sharpened volcano fragment: he was saying that having it inflict burn was pointless, but a seperate DOT means you could combo bleed with the burn of your flamethrower so that both were in effect at the same time: it's not as dumb as it sounds, but it sounds so dumb that they didn't listen to him explain it. Bleed+burning would actually be a scary combo to be able to inflict.
Eureka effect should kill you when you reach 0 metal so you respawn with full metal faster

If he was going for the Machina tracer rounds angle with the Sniper Rifles, then why not invert the Heatmaker? Have it fire off tracer rounds normally, then fire off "stealth" rounds when in Focus mode.
Would it be very annoying still? Yeah, but at least you know the Sniper player _earned_ the right to be annoying for 10 seconds, instead of earning the right to show the entire enemy team where their hiding spot is.
Hell, part of issue of truly great snipers is that they can rapidly kill several players with quick scopes, making it deal less on body shots and tracer on charged shots just *incentivizes that playstyle*

You know what changes like the Eureka Effect reminded me of? Reading through the framedata and strategies regarding characters from JoJo: Heritage For The Future.
You'd go through an entire list of utterly sick-nasty stuff that'd be absolutely broken in any other fighting game, only to get hit by "yeah also over half the cast is immune against his gameplan for most of the match lmao, he's bottom tier and if you throw someone, you get killed for hitting a move". The whiplash is palpable.
I never played that game so I need an example.
@@Spacebugg Hol Horse is pretty much exactly what I described here.
His whole gameplan centers around knocking the opponent down and hitting them with nasty setups, often involving his glass shots (he can shoot the ceiling to make glass fall down). You have to block them standing, and since he can move as they fall, he can simultaneously hit you with a move you'd have to block crouching. So you're getting hit either way, it's unblockable. Same applies to his unblockable Slow Bullet super, if he shoots that thing out while you're on the ground and places it on top of you, you're eating the hit as soon as you get up. Nothing you can do about it, because you can't do anything but block for the first frame after you wake up from a knockdown in this game. Slow Bullet is an absurd move in general, it's what gives Hol a fighting chance.
All in all, if Hol gets a good start, he can often just end the round from there by looping these things, and he also boasts suprisingly high chip damage.
The problem is that a large chunk of the cast can just... turn both of these win conditions off. "Active Stand" characters can summon their stand to fight with them, and while it's out, they don't take chip and can't be knocked down. Same applies to Weapon Stand characters if I recall correctly. Meaning Hol, lacking great ways to open people up, has to resort to running away, zoning and trying to sneak hits in. But while his kit _is_ geared towards that, the low damage he gets off of hitting you if he can't do his loops makes this a very tough situation for him. The fact that Active Stand characters tend to be higher on the tier list doesn't help either.
And yeah, his throw just... let's the opponent recover way earlier than you. They can punish you for landing it. I don't know why they made it that way.
This is the last place I expected to see HFTF being mentioned on but this is a pretty good comparison actually.

Perhaps also allow taunt teleporting to the teleporter _entrance_ directly, as well.
The funny thing is you can literally see how non functional it would be because there's a 2 way tele upgrade in MvM.

the booties are OP so im cutting off demo's legs *but* it makes you die on respawn so the character doesn't have to suffer the psychological effects of bleed during the match

i dont actually play tf2 i just grabbed some random stats and made it pretty absurd. I do have a bit of knowledge about tf2 such as the max overheal being 1.5x the classes' hp but other than that i just threw together some random stats and an iconic weapon (the eyelander)

I’ve buffed the caber. When it’s used not only does it kill you no matter what health you’re at it also sells the entirety of your backpack to scalpers for a single strange caber while also signing you up for a escape room where they kidnap you within the next 2 hours
I do not want a Hitman's heatmaker sniper jumping higher than a Scout to reach absurd places that spies can't reach to backstab him as he's able to shoot us from literally Mount Olympus and just jump over a rocket if someone tries to shoot it his way.

The unclear part is that it deals afterburn AND bleed, which is a ridiculous amount of DoT
@@TARINunit9 probably the only good change, because that is more damage than stock but can be mitigated with healing or a medic, so it's fair without technically outclassing stock, and is a good way to fight a pyro I guess if you aren't using the Dragon's Fury or any shotguns
@@silverdededestruction2197nah I don’t really think it’s that good of a change, pyro has the flame thrower, which has more range than the sharpened volcano fragment and also a reflect that can also do knockback. There is literally no point in using it unless you ran out of ammo or are fighting a pyro in which case you are still likely to lose the fight unless the pyro is using a weapon that doesn’t have airblast(plog)

That would actually be interesting change to see. Being able to fake fire at your teammates while disguised might make acting a bit more viable at the cost of reliable damage might (key word: might) be cool.

No you see your not accounting for the psychological damage your inflicting. I mean have you ever been shot before? It's very traumatic, and with each shot your imparting more and more trauma onto the player till they get PTSD. It's really a buff depending on your point of view

@@peterpanther23 The Pomsons main problem is the fact the projectile is completely broken nearby teammates at ANY distance it will be deleted. No other projectile acts this way. It used to penetrate teammates and buildings before Valve somehow messed it all up. Rn it forces you as the Engineer to stay away from your teammates which is very very bad. The projectile being slow was never the problem.

Sharpened volcano fragment makes zero sense because if you get cut with ORAGE HOT MOLTEN ROCK, then you'll probably gonna instantly cauterize the cut anyways, so how do you bleed??

I think what might have ticked people off is his smarmy attitude and the animated spy stamping "BUFFED" or "NERFED", often contradicting when a weapon actually was made better or worse.

I think we ought to be a bit fair to his change to the sharpened volcano fragment: he was saying that having it inflict burn was pointless, but a seperate DOT means you could combo bleed with the burn of your flamethrower so that both were in effect at the same time: it's not as dumb as it sounds, but it sounds so dumb that they didn't listen to him explain it. Bleed+burning would actually be a scary combo to be able to inflict.
Fair enough, but the problem is that if you’re pulling off a melee combo with pyro, why not just use the axetinguisher
