- With heightened security and pandemic precautions, the streets of Washington, DC were mostly empty on the day of Joe Biden’s inauguration. Despite vowing to once again storm the Capitol, Trump supporters were nowhere to be seen. We spoke to one man in a MAGA hat who traveled from New York for a rally that never happened.

This is how true patriots act. He admitted to the problems of the party he supports. He showed respect and honor to next president and vice president. He even has faith in both of the parties. It's become increasingly hard to do that, even if you want to, because the stakes are so high. I don't mean socially, I mean for the greater good (maybe that's the problem and I'm part of it). I'll argue privately with fellow democrats, but I try not to do it in public. 1) It's exhausting to disagree with everyone when you don't enjoy drama. 2) I don't want to give any ammunition to the other party. People are no longer rational or think their thoughts and beliefs through. They are too lazy and weak to think for themselves, so it becomes about teams.
Biden supporters are regretting because the raise in drug price is destroying many lives, they got what they want. Wait till its world w2 again.

I agree that we should have conversations. Its really difficult to have those because the moment you disagree, you are called "ist", "phobe" or have an "ism". Its also really difficult to have conversations with people who think you need deprogrammed and are hurling insults at your side. Absentee voting requires someone to actually request a ballot from the state, you would have to provide a copy of your ID with the filled out form and put it into a sealed envelope to mail back out. This election was the first time that ballots were sent out to everyone on the voter registration without any request necessary or proof of identification necessary and only a signature match is used.
@@jkim1241 It was still legal, just never used, as you said, in mass numbers. You're also right in that absentee ballots are not the same thing. I do believe ID copy would be good for the future of mail-in voting like how it is for absentee ballots, but I guess the argument can be made that it was given outstanding and unprecedented circumstances more than anything. Mass voter fraud, however, was not found in the end outside of like three instances, all of which Trump voters and none of which involving mail-in ballots. If Trump wanted to pursue legal action to bar it, his team probably assumed there is no way in hell they were gonna get what they wanted, or they feared it would look like a blatant form of voter suppression. If we really want to encourage participation by all Americans and limit mail-in voting as some Trumpists, whether evidenced or not, want, Election Day needs to become a federal work holiday and week-long early voting should become a norm. The fact that every civilized nation in the world except for the US has a holiday is disgraceful.

Agreed. Reminds me of a friend of mine. Huge Trump supporter but denouncing the riot at the capitol and the last minute Presidential pardons. We need to look across the aisle, find those who we can work with, and bring them together as part of our team. This is how you talk about politics. Calm, respectful, and not yelling. While I would consider myself "Anti-Trump" (Not a Democrat or Republican), I absolutely respect this guy. He and I would definitely disagree on certain things, however, that's okay. That's the great thing about opinions. We can state them, and disagree and STILL be kind and understanding. Props to him and the interviewer for being so chill. Props to anyone like these two. Hate gets nobody nowhere, so all in all... just be respectful.
