The paver pad below is 10' x 15' so the frame is slightly wider than that. I doubled up the middle to make it symmetric and to provide some more support for the length of the ridge. I did it on the ends to make the beams look more massive like the upright posts.
This building covers a 10 foot by 15 foot paver patio so the posts are outside that area. The front is the 10 foot side. I added a middle post on the 15 foot side because I felt the span would be too long. I based a lot of the wood choices on how it would look finished and the overall scale. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest looking for ideas.
They are just screwed with long screws. I may make some y shaped brackets out of steel and paint them black and install on the front and back to add some detail.
Not quite sure this is correct. The load of the beams need to sit on the posts, not just be bolted in from the sides. You should stack the beams and add braces or notch the top of the posts.
Did you use 2×8 for everything up top? I was thinking of using 2×6. My DYI pavilion is going to be 14×14, just nervous about project because want to make sure all 4 post are squared properly secured which hold everything in place is safe ans secured.

I’m thinking to build one 16x12. 16’ would be the front. What material would you suggest for rim on the front ?
