Seems like that mild beam
Is bowing down pretty good ?!?😮
Yeah!...thought it was just me. HA!
Awesome job! I was watching your video and I noticed @6:45 there is a longitudinal crack in the beam due to bending stress
Compliments the house wonderfully, flawless execution. Well done
Nice job. I'm a carpenter's daughter, and have renovated every home I've lived in to some degree, and I've learned something new here watching you guys. Thanks for sharing.
Watch nick rotchford scuffed realtor you’d love him
@@groyper6567 OMG! The guy is hilarious. Thank you I needed the laugh. I used to sell real estate myself, so, I can appreciate where he is coming from with some of his comments/observations.
Looks great. How much does something like that cost to build??
Oh okay…
House and yard is gorgeous! Wish my husband would enlist some DIYers for our patio! Your project turned out beautiful, btw😂
Beautiful. I did my Pavillion at 25'x23', wanted shiplap boards but it would increase the cost and weight. I used sofits underneath, got a TV and sound. Cheers
Everything looks really good, thank you for sharing
the boxes with the brick on the base of the pillars look great
Nice job! Next job you have to lag into a header and shear, we would love to see that process and how it is done.
Great job guys. I have a quick question, how did you connect the ridge beam and side beams to the brick house?
I was trying to ask that question to. I have stucko and trying to build something like this as well
Nice build brother, What was the distance between the post? And what size beam did you use to span that distance? Looks beautiful
Looks great. One question. Why were your post foundation holes only 16 x 16 and not 36 x 36 given the load and size of the open air roof. You were basically building and airplane wing which in heavy winds has a lot of up draft.
Will like to know if there's a possibility of beam sagging. If so what would be the best way to fix issue?
Nice looking patio guy’s !!
I'm building something similar, can you tell me where you got the top post brackets so I can see if they can build me some
You guys did a great job! Curious though, how did you connect to the house? Code wise? Would be an awesome addition to the video, thx!
Same question
Yes. How did you tie the structure to the house?
Same question anyone ever figure it out?
Looks great. Did you go back in and fill in those gnarly ruts that the Telehandler left in the grass?
Great! Job! Guys! Love it! Wish I had you guys build me one. Dang!
This house really needed something on that side this patio is a perfect way to make the house look better and bigger in a classy way. Add on patios in the back of the house are a good place to put solar panels if you want them. That way they are lower than the roof and not seen from the street or front of the house. If I extend my patio I would like to add solar and wire it to battery storage in the garage.
Gosh so beautiful ❤from Germany
What was the BUDGET for this covered structure?
Haha, you guys jacked up that yard, the ruts.
Beautiful job. Did have a question, how did you tie this into the brick on the house? Did you just support the beams into the brick? The one over the window looks like it would have been to much load on the header above the window in the long run. Thanks for the video and your response.
Removed the brick and lacked into header and shear
Lagged**
@@TMBRMANTV I'm sure the beam over the header is a no no...if this is how to video..you failed my friend..no builder in their right mind would do that
@@daleatwin7874 I totally agree, should have put another post up near the house. And that tearing up the yard, I would be some kind of pissed.
I would be seriously nervous under that middle header. Looks split length ways and yes that short vertical beam is a no no
Is the beam cantilevered on the back span towards the building or it’s really bearing on the building? If it’s bearing right above that window opening, it’s very likely going to be cracking the wall unless you did something special to prevent it 🧐
great work gents!
Nice work gentlemen
We added a tv to our gazebo using the ZeboZAP without drilling and spend lots of time outdoors these days!
Wow amazing I would love something like this !
Looks good
I would have put two more posts both side of wall in the cement for extra strength
Wow! Nice work..
How did you attach those beams to the brick veneer of the house? Usually its against the code to attach headers or beams to brick veneer. Did you remove the brick and attach to the wooden structure of the house somehow?
Awesome job guys 👍That’s my dream patio in my backyard but I can’t afford it
Great video! Super insightful, thanks for making this!
Cool channel. Well explained for dummies. Gracias!
We are excited to see your project
That came out BADASS!!!
Great job Looks amazing
we are doing something similar. framing starts tomorrow! having a real hard time picking color / stain lol. we want to keep some natural wood look but that does not go with the house at all.
This looks so good it’s crazy., seriously good work
How did you tie the beams to the house ? I see one beam runs straight into a window header what’s carrying it?
Liked it so much I watched it twice! Great job gentlemen!
Wow! Amazing work!!!
do the saddles just sit directly into the concrete or are they attached to something then placed in the concrete? Nice work. Love it.
Looks like they we set into the concrete when it was poured.
Amazing. Great work.
Finished product definitely looks amazing good job. Did you have to have those massive brackets checked by an engineer first? And small detail but you may want to keep a few pieces of plywood to put down on the grass looks like the homeowner is going to have to get landscapers to fix those divots
You sir are a good teacher looks amazing brother !!
Nice digs!
How did you guys fix the damage the skytrack left on the lawn .?
I see you described tieing the beams into house but how did you seal the rafters and/or roof metal to the building so it did not leak? Did use tar on rafters and metal sheathing? What kind flashing? Great job guys
Nice work, but looks like you destroyed their lawn with the telehandler. Any reason why you didn't bring in mats? And could you have done the same lift with block and tackle?
F'n Nice !! Great pride in your work.
I bounced a guy who was gonna give me the Tijuana Special. I stopped him quick and early when I went out to check on the schitty work.
He said he knew what he was doing, like I was stupid.... that didnt get too far. He knew he was doing sorry azz work.... Adios perro.
Just something I noticed. You should try to put any material that has any blemishes towards the back where people and the weather can't see them. I noticed your first rafter has a major blemish running almost a third of the way up it. Just something we always tried to do when I was roofing.
We always chose the best straightest stick of timber for our first rafter. Build was lookeed pretty good and I really liked those brackets. I actually found this video looking for ideas for a house I am planning on building this year.
great job buddy
Great work dude !!!!
Did you consider staining the beams before putting them up to ensure weather proofing ?
My first thought was why such heavy duty custom made hardware up high when you are using regular down low. Surely the forces at play will be even higher at the base bracket as it literally carries ALL of the weight plus torque from any movement. Doesn't seem engineered or permitted, both requirements in my state.
Looks beautiful though!
Thanks for the video. Great work! Aesthetic question (novice), is there a max length (depth from house) the patio cover can extend out before having to use a pole?
Outstanding
Nice job except for the big tire marks that destroyed the grass 😂
Excellent!
As soon as you said telehandler I thought that grass is getting seriously messed up. Nice deep furrows . I also didn't understand why you didn't build the brick pillars as actual concrete filled pillars with the wooden posts attached to the top rather than running through. I guess it's unlikely to be a problem in the future, just seemed an odd way to do it. While I'm not a fan of the metal brackets, plenty of people prefer them and the finished project does look good.
Thats really good build..but why you guys did gabel (A) roof? I see the house is having Hip roof..would have been better if it's same Hip roof style patio cover. Just a thought.
This is Awesome!
Fine craftsmanship, I love those brackets, not the garbage they sell in the big box stores.
I would have kept it independent from the house but thats just me. Thats a massive snowload depending on the area your in. Easily could have added two more post to run the load into the slab rather than the side of the house…I agree with previous comments, I doubt an engineer was involved.
Love the structure, I missed the dimensions of the main section
Thanks
Nice Job......Use some plywood next time to save the lawn though! :)
I’m wondering why the footings for the post are so small
Cool build
That middle beam is bowing down or camera angle ??
beautiful
WHATS SOMETHING LIKE THIS COST? GREAT BUILD!
I can’t remember but did you guys match the brick with the house?
Also did I mention that I liked how you matched the brick with the house lol
Amazing work. All in what did it cost you?
how did you build your boxes? how did level your columns, how did you make your post cup, can it be done in any welding shop?
:( nice tuturial) lol
Wow, Awesome job! I enjoyed watching this episode.
Nice job 👍
Question about the sheeting over the shiplap. Is it needed? For structural stiffness? Can you use thinner since there is already a layer underneath? Thanks.
You got a like but now answer? I'd take offence to that lol
@@dtb7872 that extra layer of sheathing would help in several ways. It will act like a cross brace against any racking motion, it will make a smooth underlayment that will help when it is time for a re roof, and it will increase thickness so fasteners don't stick through to the finished surface underneath.
@@dtb7872 only answers given are about other products he makes and sells ;-)
Awesome work done! where to buy those 6x6 beam bucket?
Great job..how big is this is unit? Also, what size timber did you use for the ridge beam and roof joists?
Great video I just would like to know what a “c” cut is or did you say “Seat cut “ plus what is an “angle cut”
It’s confusing because I know what a “Birdsmouth is and “plumb” cut the match your pitch of the roof!
Just saying ?
How did you attach the ridge beam to the house? Is it let in the the house framing?
what was the material cost on this build?
Roughly speaking, what cost range is this project in? Thx!
I asked our concrete guy about cutting out the holes to pour new footers. he said that was not a good idea it would weaken the slab. What are your thoughts on this?
Bro you didnt put plywood down on the lawn to protect it from the lift. Bucsh League but the rest was awesome and i love the custom brackets.
What material did you use for the shiplap? Looks like standard 2x4s without tongue and groove or an “L” edge??
That looks great! Also if you call that an A-frame, I wonder what you call what I call an A-frame...
New sub here. This build is SICK!
Did you fix the large holes from the tractor tires in the lawn?
Why use the footing brackets? How does that compare to burying 1/3 of the posts?
The footings keep the wood post off the ground so they don’t retain moisture
Nice. But why not add siding to the ceiling. It would've look much better. My .02 cents.
How did you ties these beams into the brick?
What type of wood did they use? Cedar?
beautiful job, but wow that grass got jacked up bad
Hey what was the cost for such a beautiful project
Awesome
Real nice
