I started using Ntlite back in time with Windows 7 and XP, and it was a really helpful tool to get ultralight versions of both OS. Nowadays, the Ntlite team has improved a lot of cool things that make it easy to set up Win 10 or 11, as you mentioned, so it is worth paying $40 for the home version. I have a question regarding your settings for Gaming OS. Can I use those settings on a home PC on a windows Home (such as browsing, using Microsoft office and that kind of stuff), or Does it need to be a Windows Pro?. This is because I am trying to help someone from my home country, so if that works, it will be easier to deploy. Thanks.
Oh one more thing to add to that Chris when you do your download of doing that making your custom ISO is there a way to have every driver out there downloaded with it so you don't have to worry about searching whatever software from wherever it could just slap the drive or in no problem even if you go from Windows to 2 raspberry pi or you know Linux or whatever if you understand what I'm trying to say if you're getting kind of stuck let me know..
Goodnight. Be careful doing this. I did the step by step as Chris explains and I ran out of pc. Yes, the system consumes 1.3Gb of ram, and runs smoothly. But... At what cost? The navigation bar below DOES NOT WORK. Neither does the sidebar. It does not come with any software installed, nor do most of the essential services. Basically you can't do ANYTHING. If you want to install something you can't either, since the Microsoft Store service is deactivated and you can't install anything. Not a browser by console the Power Shell. Be very careful.
Man I love everything that you are doing. I used to do this as well before I loved to linux. I used to use black vipers services batch file too. Shut off anything that is not needed. I wonder if you have done this? Disable all those services running which no one uses except the hackers or microsoft to check if your license is valid every other clock cycle.
Hi Chris ! I love your videos! Can you make one where you explain how to get paid programs into the image and have them install automatically with Windows. During the installation, a window should appear with the programs we want to install and not play around doing this later. We mark and they are installed with Windows. For example, Wondershare Filmora X, Revo Uninstaller Pro, Visual Studio, Internet Download Manager, etc. I'm making an image with AOMEI Backupper, but I want to know how it goes with NTLite ISO. Thanks !
Hey Krasi! I think all you need to do is create a shell script to install these softwares for you and then add it under the "Post Install" tab! After the installation, a shell prompt should pop up asking you about confirmation for all the softwares you'd like to install and you can answer it with y and n for each subsequent piece of software!

At least for debian based systems you can use debian preseeding (even works for derivatives like Ubuntu). For arch, there are countless installers that allow for preconfiguration.
Well done great video By the way, I'm a little ashamed to ask, can I please have a link to download the Windows you made? I want to install it on my computer
As usual you nailed it :-) I am kind of desperate with the Windows bloating (skyrocketed in Windows 11..) which seems to know no limits now.. As a small non profit IT support provider I try to clean the system as much as I can so people using it can actually do their work! I've been using all kinds of [re]imaging tools with mixed results. MSMG Toolkit is great but lacks of documentation or thorough tutorials. I know that NT Lite has been around a long time but did not know that it was still thriving. I will definitely give it a try. Thank you so much!
This is pretty cool. Would it be possible to run a .bat file for installing apps with chocolatey post windows install? Also, is it possible to create an image from an existing version of windows with all the settings in other apps?
Excellent vid! Just bought NTlite and made my first ISO. Question: How can I load both home AND pro versions to be placed into the ISO I'm making? Seems like once I 'load' one of them, there is no option to load any other.
Any chance we can get a more in-depth video about this, and maybe some additional presets for a minimal and debloated install that is still good for every day use like web browsing and email? This video goes kinda fast and only covers the GamerOS preset. Edit: Also, where can we get that file with all of the drivers at about 5:30 in the video?
I'm receiving a black screen after installing the windows. It's just stuck on the black screen. Trying to do the windows 11 version, did all the steps you did.

@@Devvult Chris's intentions were not bad. But... Hi Chris has talked about this issue in a few videos. He hates Edge and is very annoyed that he has not been able to find a way to remove it completely since about a year, which is most likely because Edge is becoming more and more integrated into other windows things. For the same reason a lot of Chris’s Debloat tool script screws up edge in some way or other. Chris says this is unlikely to change or will get worse. He says if you are interested in using Edge in any way, then best not use any of his Debloat stuff
@@svan71 That’s a Bummer. As a long term solution to things like this, which I am hoping to investigate if I get the time, is to somehow standardise on using an earlier windows 10 version. Chris and others have often said that the earlier versions were easier to debloat cleanly. In later versions Microsoft have integrated more and more which makes it more difficult to Debloat and tweak without breaking something. I am not sure why something like that solution has not been investigated. I am not a computer profi, just a home user, so there may be something I am missing? As far as security issues are concerned I was assuming the option Chris has in his tools for security only updates would take care of that, so all other updates could be blocked and you could keep your machine on a stable earlier windows version and be able to tweak and Debloat it more cleanly?
@@svan71 By the way, just out of interest, I use a version of Chris’s previous win10script tool. (I prefer the simpler GUI, and after fixing a few very simple bugs the old GUI works and resizes similarly to his new winutil GUI anyway!). I have followed closely all Chris’s development with his tools and added anything useful or made any bug fixes to the one I am using, so that the main Debloat and tweaks are up to date. An ideal solution for me, at least that is my Layman thought currently, would be to standardise on an earlier windows 10 version and further optimise my version of Chris’s tool to suit that windows 10 version.
I think it’s a bit of a variable. Microsoft often change how / if it’s available. Chris has a lot of problems with his latest utility, (which uses winget a lot), because of how Microsoft change how / if you can get at winget.
Hey Chris quick question where did you get the folder with all the drivers for all the OS's versions I would like to include on my image thank you! NVM I actually found it thanks!
I've been looking into moving to an NVR setup called Blue Iris instead of a proprietary NVR as they seem to fail far too often. However, Blue Iris is Windows only. It doesn't make sense to build a headless server out of Windows Desktop with all of the bloatware that is running on it. This seems to be a way to run Blue Iris "bloatless" on a headless server. I mean it would be the same light weight install as I would want for a dedicated gaming machine. Thanks for this!

I've been using NT Lite with years since when it was free. I used the free version of my lite to make a custom windows 10 install a few weeks ago. I stripped as much as possible without breaking things. I also stopped as much of the windows 10 spyware as ntlite allows too. There's also the possibility to stop windows from installing the bloateare like the games and Microsoft office rubbish. You need to be careful though. I know there's one option to stop windows automatically installing drivers that will stop your SSD / NVME drive from showing during install. I don't actually have mine stripped as much as yours. I tried to strip mine more but I kept breaking things. I was probably doing something wrong. But I do have a lot of stuff stripped from Windows 10
Did I get it right: you can include software in this image you would install anyways (e.g. an office)? And also can I put in my active directory to get the computer right into the network?
How to setup a bare minimal light weight security in this ISO? for the reason that we download and install binaries that may be harmful and this will become a vulnerable setup.
For anyone that wants to reduce windows service count more there is a 2nd way go to regedit and go to this place Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control and delete this ( SvcHostSplitThresholdInKB ) if it's not there its probably already deleted or you are on an older version of windows it was first added in (Win10 1709)
I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but I think there's a very specific reason why there's no videos on how to setup your license key. There's other ways to accomplish Windows lite. I wouldn't use ntlite if I could go back.

2)Install Rufus, in the preferences activate the online updates and restart Rufus, then you'll see another option that "select" for the ISO, now you have "Download" as an option and you can choose Win 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 and immediately create a USB. You can download the ISO on any folder you want in case you want to keep it.
Blessings !

Thanks.
There is the beautiful windows 10 script to debloat windows and it worked like a charm as well and removed every bloat and i really liked it...
This is awesome appreciate the info as always thank you 🙏
Be very careful.
is better WinToolkit than MSMG Toolkit? your recent video is about MSMG Toolkit (2020), but in this video you recommend the WinToolkit(2019)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Nice video, will you be making your own preset for NTLite in the future?
@@devangshekhawat Thanks Dev, but I think the video tutorial will guide me more quickly on how to do this.
I can completely understand Chris if he is afraid of complaints about the paid programs (company patent) that he puts in the example package.
I will look elsewhere for information if necessary.
This is awesome! How are they not getting in legal trouble for charging money for the tool though?
@@Ffinity ah, sweet. I mean I guess they arent distributing the iso with it so its fine
Yes, I think currently it’s the supplying of a complete finished modified ISO that has the Legal problems. I guess this tool is somewhere in between the two extremes of
supplying a complete finished modified ISO
and
just showing you how to do it
I guess this tool shows you how to do it and gives you some of the bits you need without doing it all for you
I followed the same process but the iso file is still larger than 5 gigs. Is it because I used the free version?
Great video Chris! I might have to give this one a try. I would love to be able to make my own OS. I saw your video on tiny 11 this morning, scrolled down and saw this video and thought I would watch it. Can this software work with Windows 11 also?
Thank you very much for this video Chris. Hey Chris, awesome video as always! I think it would be greate if you make a video about the tool WinReducer.
I wondered how to do the same with Linux.
Especially Debian base system
What do you mean? Installing a minimal debloated Linux machine?
Worked thank you alot! you're the best bro liked
Can you do an up to date video of making a copy (settings) that got you the 78 processes at 11:20?
This is pretty cool. Would it be possible to run a .bat file for installing apps with chocolatey post windows install? Also, is it possible to create an image from an existing version of windows with all the settings in other apps?
you can create windows iso with preinstalled apps
Excellent vid! Just bought NTlite and made my first ISO. Question: How can I load both home AND pro versions to be placed into the ISO I'm making? Seems like once I 'load' one of them, there is no option to load any other.
You have to unmount the one you are working on first, then mount the other one you want to edit.
Really good video, I am curious to know "How to make Best Windows ISO using NT Lite, as a daily driver?"
It's a little bit fast for me, but an outstanding great video. Thanks a million times.
Your content is great 👍
Thanks Chris. As always good tech and easy to understand. Keep them coming.
I don't recommend doing it. In my case it made my laptop obsolete. I also followed the step-by-step and it brought out a lot of features. The video is a click-bait, so when the process ends, it cuts the video.

@@Devvult Chris's intentions were not bad. But... Chris how do I prevent your debloat tool from screwing with Edge?
Hi
Chris has talked about this issue in a few videos.
@@alanelston2330 I have no desire to use edge, unfortunately some of my older clients use it.
Are these custom .iso installs just for convenience or do they allow you make changes that are impossible after a regular install?
Windows 10 also has winget
I think it’s a bit of a variable. Microsoft often change how / if it’s available. Chris has a lot of problems with his latest utility, (which uses winget a lot), because of how Microsoft change how / if you can get at winget.

This seems like the perfect way to get a lightweight version of Windows on the SteamDeck purely for gaming!
Thanks for this. Defo think I'll pay the $40.
Have you ever use uupdump? thats my favorite piece of file to download any windows 10 or 11 versions weather it be retail, beta or developer iso. i like to use that in conjunction with ventoy
You say this setup is for gaming. What about online gaming or game updates with no windows defender? Still safe?
bro just use any other defender windows defender is so trash
is there a need to run your tool after this to do its "desktop" tweaks ? also, would there be a variant of the preset with windows defender enabled ?
As far as I understand it, it's just a preset. You can just re-enable it in the config menu.

My mother gets annoyed now🤣🤣🤣🤣
Because of my craziness of windows stuff
It is very addictive
But I do have a lot of stuff stripped from Windows 10
thankyou for the process, is there an already created bare bones win11 iso which we can get directly?
I would like like this but windows 11 so can I do same step on windows 11 image?
Did I get it right: you can include software in this image you would install anyways (e.g. an office)? And also can I put in my active directory to get the computer right into the network?
cool, but the gamer os presets kill my bluetooth and wifi drivers on win10 as well as on win11.
Good video, thanks mate.
How to setup a bare minimal light weight security in this ISO? for the reason that we download and install binaries that may be harmful and this will become a vulnerable setup.
For anyone that wants to reduce windows service count more there is a 2nd way
go to regedit and go to this place
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control and delete this ( SvcHostSplitThresholdInKB ) if it's not there its probably already deleted or you are on an older version of windows it was first added in (Win10 1709)

(NT Lite) only desactivate no delete & the iso heavy ! the best is (WinReducer EX) desactivate + delete + make iso lite
It does delete. The ISO file size changes with everything you remove. My LTSC 2021 is 1.1GB.
AMIGO HELPS when applying changes in NTLite where it says "save changes in iso" it doesn't start from 100% and returns to 0% the others if they go green
I don't doubt that it works perfect for games but to work day to day in a work environment the cutout is too extreme it can cause problems
