Mine was the ignition switch.. It was recalled in a bunch of my exact Jeeps but apparently mine didn't make the cut.. Luckily the part was $35 and it was just a couple pain in the ass screws to fix it..
My 2007 jeep commander did the same thing I took it to Jeep to get the ignition switch replaced and it happened again! Turns out it was the electrical harness that was corroded! Set me back 500! This should also be placed on the recall list because that part usually lasts the lifetime of the car!!!!
they replaced mine too 3 times(wiring harness) but if it happens again there is a sensor in the drivers door have it replaced and it wont happen again but if i were you get rid of it you couldn't pay me enough money to get another one
Me Jeep just shut off after 20 seconds that I turn it on. The AC turns by it self and air some times cool and the hot . I just bouth from some one else she say that only had a driver power windows problems. Just put new batery, and I thought the Problem was fix I whent somewhere and woke I was driving interrstate car shut off had to spend $350 To truck. Almost _$500 ... The car only start with jumper cables... Any advice.?????

FYI if the dash is still lighting up like a xmas tree tell the dealer its the sensor in the drivers door that needs replaced trust me i had 10 top techs from Chrysler come they took everything out of the inside of the truck to trace every wire after about a week one of the techs at the dealership figured it out....
i had an 06 hemi limited and thats what mine did and if anyones jeep is doing this thats what it is regardless of year cause we all know it happens on many different years but only some will be recalled and if u do not know this ALWAYS put the parking brake on and go to the dealer and get the computer reprogrammed ....reason on start up the computer will tell transmission to go into neutral.. and i can tell you IT DOES... i loved my jeep but im happy i got rid of it i dont think i have ever in my life been terrified to drive my own car
we should all write the Jeep company and complain so they will make it a recall

What door sensor are u talking about mine is doing the same thing so i would be able to check both of them

Same problem here.
It's probably the ignition switch or wiring under the hood. If it was the alternator the battery would come on and stay on.
